Went there today to check out ukuleles…BEST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! I would have never thought that we would have a local shop in town, when I found out about it yesterday I was so hyped and had to go. I ended up just buying picks but it was a pretty hot deal for 3 for $1. Al who was the one who helped me was so nice and made it a 5 star experience. Recommend going to check it out.
Love the owners of this place! Laura holds a small piece of my heart!
Stopped in while traveling and fell in love with then shop. The vintage and newer amp collection could easily outfit a recording studio. I found some great quality and unique acoustic guitars, mandolins, and an impressive collection of used bass guitars. Knowledgeable and friendly staff/owner. I wish this store was in my hometown.
They have an amazing selection of sheet music that I love to browse and the staff is always down to help find whatever book I’m looking for. Always love to visit.
Have nothing but great review. Excellent equipment. Great service with guys who JAM! Love my new AJ and epi !
Great location and staff! Tony is easy to work with and helped guide my quest for saxophone reeds!

Worked with us to make sure my son had a trumpet for band.
Friendly and extremely helpful staff, wonderful welcoming atmosphere, and amazing guitars.
Very helpful
Nau experinia
VERY HELPFUL STAFF.
Have rented a instrument from them and it is taking a super long time to even get a response, it has been 2.5 weeks and no call on status…
Store sucks, don’t have anything in the drum section, sad
Put an order in 2 different times for a replacement part for my son’s bells set in January and again in February. After June we still hadn’t received the part. My son’s grade in band was affected because his bells couldn’t attach to it’s stand for concerts Won’t ever return. Actually kinda made him hate band.
Sales people are pushy and dishonest.

This is my go to place regarding music! The guys that work here are so awesome, super friendly and willing to help you with any questions you have. Their instruments are also resonably priced.
Friendly and helpful. Bought a piano and two guitars from them.
Great selection of musical instruments and the people working there do know about music
Great customer service great friendly people and wonderful setup of pianos musicians welcome love this place cheap and dreamy.
Not so good customer service, ignored until the long chatty catching up was finished with previous customer. Vague pointing to other side of store for needed items, which wasn’t in stock anyway. Ended up getting everything from Utah.
I bought guitar picks
Welch Music has messed up the violin contract that I had, charged me twice, tried to charge me after I paid off the violin and messed up the tuning. The only time I will go to Welch is when I need a string and Acadia doesn’t have it. They usually don’t know what they are talking about, though they act like they do, and most of the employees can’t tune correctly to save their life because they depend on an electric tuner and have no experience of their own tuning string instruments. My 2 children play a string instrument, violin and cello, but when I bought a brand new violin and had the store tune it, the music teacher said that it was WAY out of tune and not to have the store tune it. The kids music teacher will only go to Acadia Music in Rupert or Dunkley Music in Twin Falls. I have had a PHENOMENALLY POSITIVE experience at Dunkley Music and will always take my business to them. At Acadia Music, the owner is the employee and she tuned my son’s cello with no problems.

Dropped two guitars off to get some maintenance taken care of. Can’t be happier with the service! Both guitars play like new, the turn around was great, and the price was even better. I also love the fact they are open to 8pm!!!
Calling this establishment “mediocre” would be too much of a compliment. My brother went in to ask if the man had any guitar parts and was treated like an inconvenience. The man had his back to him the whole time, was very dry and rude and had awful customer service overall, once my brother asked about guitar lessons though is when the man perked up and became chatty. Only when money was in the conversation was he interested. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

I dont know why anyone would deal with any other music store, it is locally owned, family owned, supplies all of the big brands and the customer service is very fluid. 🙂
I have always been able to trust Mike and his staff with their products that they sell. They are very professional in what they do, and they are always willing to help you with your specific situation. I have been going to mikes for 10 plus years and I can honestly say that they are the best shop in town.
I cannot say enough good things about the owner Mike. I recently turned in all of my old gear from my teenage years; some of which I originally purchased from this shop. Mike worked with me to complete a trade deal that allowed me to take home a brand new acoustic guitar. Mike is a class act that takes pride in his trade.
Good selection. Carried amps by Dime.
Great service, very knowledgeable staff
Great store, very knowledgeable folks and informed!
Not anything special
I was given 2 piano books for my birthday and I need the easy print books…so I asked my friend where he bought them..Mike’s music….so I went in and tried to exchange….said not unless I had e a receipt… its NOT like anyone gives the receipt with a birthday gift!!! What a jerk….I wont go back EVER
Terrible customer service. Everybody that answered the phone was unhelpful. The manager was arrogant. They had a used version of a specific guitar I was looking for but were asking 50$ more than the guitar was brand new on multiple web stores. Horrible experience, will never go back.
19. Chesbro Music Company
Address: 327 W Broadway St, Idaho Falls, ID 83402 , Lincoln County , Idaho , United States
Always had been curious about Chesbro since I love Ibanez guitars and they were the western USA Ibanez distributor for many years. Nice store, and very helpful.
Great local resource for music!
I started buying guitars and music equipment at the age of 14 and the year 1974 from Chesebro s. I had to go to the store in Rexburg just for some strings never been interested in going there I have bought guitars from everywhere Sweetwater guitar center you name it every shop every place every town I have an amazing studio I wish I could post a picture and I say I have an amazing studio so that you could actually realize just how many people I have dealt with buying.equiptment over the years.so after going in to buy some strings I’ve bought two guitars so far in a very short time and I just want to say with all the MANY people I’ve dealt with Michael takes customer service to a new level that I have never experienced before he makes you feel like the store is your home he meets every musical need you could ever possibly want and a customer service level I have never experienced anywhere.Michael I can’t thank you enough . I would say more but I don’t have enough room to say it thanks again Michael.
Very nice place
Always fun, a good selection for most things and the staff is always friendly.
Friendly service had what I was looking for
If it would allow me to give less than a full star I would have. Will never step foot in this establishment again.
I went there, asked to borrow a guitar cable, and the old guy there said “what for?” After explaining the obvious, he said he didn’t want me playing anything unless I was going to buy something. He then tried to force me to use an amp that I didn’t want to use. After he walked away, I plugged into the tube amp that I wanted to use. He then came back and told me that I wasn’t allowed to play any of the tube amps that were out for people to try. My question is this: why have the tube amps out on the showroom floor if people aren’t allowed to try them? I’m never coming back.
I would never shop at this store, I made the mistake of signing my son up for their rental program which is nothing more than a high interest, high harassment loan scam. These guys are a complete joke. The complete lack of customer service, along with the harassing phone calls, and creepy home visits are enough for me to contact law enforcement. DO NOT give this company your business!
20. Gig’s Music
Address: 611 N Orchard St, Boise, ID 83706 , Lincoln County , Idaho , United States
Locally owned and operated music shop, with an in-house fully-equipped recording room that you can reserve to throw down some high quality tracks. Great place to go if you’re looking for new or used gear
Dub hooked me up with awesome amp. I liked the way it sounded at first, but I had some reservations. Dub listened to me, tinkered with the amp for about an hour and a half for no extra charge (switching out tubes and getting rid of any buzzing or rattling), and I ended up with an amp that fit my budget and sounded just like I wanted it to. Will recommend.
Great place to buy used gear. Great techs as well
Great help and service. Instruments were priced Right and in great condition for being used.
Good shop. Needs more stuff.
I remember, not too long ago Gigs Music Company was owned and operated by Rick and Debbie Schroeder. They had an impressive enventory. Then it changed hands you another great musician who worked for the Schroeders from the beginning and held it’s integrity. It seems those days are over. I’ve been there a few times lately and it saddens me to say it’s really gone down hill. To say the service is poor would be a understatement. The inventory lacks quantity and quality both. It’s definitely not getting a favorable critique from me. Three stars is more than generous in my view.
Went by to sell a couple guitars and amps on a Saturday. Hours on the door say they open at 11, but it was 1115 and noone was there. Another customer in the parking lot told me that “sometimes this just happens” and said he texted the owner to see when they were coming. At 1130 we both left. Follow the hours you show.
Talented man with music skills. Awful business techniques.
Egh. A big, mostly empty space filled with pawn shop guitars, dusty packs of new old stock strings, and rack gear from 1991.
