I bought a guitar through their site. Their system canceled the order immediately and marked “out of stock.” So, I bought a different model of the same brand. The next business day, Cj noticed and let me know the original order was actually in stock and it was an error.
They already had the sale and they went one step further to make sure I got what I really wanted. I wish more companies acted like this.
Ordered a guitar online from this store. Came exactly as described at a great deal, KGMC even threw in some goodies. Excellent communication and very friendly, just give them a call!
Stellar service; healthy alternative to GC
Great shop!
Useless store, called atleast 20 times within an hour from 2-4pm and left a voicemail the first time I called at 2pm and no one ever got back to me or picked up the phone, I’ve been to the store enough times to know it isn’t that busy.
I can tell you, I’ll never shop here or refer anyone to this place.
Attended their store’s birthday event on August 1st. For my first time ever in the store, I was extremely underwhelmed. The selection of products was great but the customer service was awful. We walked in and not a single employee even said hello to us. We got multiple “looks” but nothing else. I went to purchase raffle tickets for this event and the kid working the counter continuously made eye contact with me and my money in my hand and ignored me. He kept waving his buddies to come cut in front of me and get their tickets in before the drawing. I even walked all the way up to the counter and leaned on it and said “excuse me” and he continued to talk to his friends at the counter. When I finally got his attention I had missed the raffle. When I asked him anything his response was just a shrug. The staff was utterly uninterested in anyone that was not a part of their clique. Extremely unwelcoming and disappointing.
First, I want to start by saying I enjoy this store and congratulate them on their newest accolade of top 100 stores. Everything you could possibly need in a guitar store plus more!!
Heres where my issue comes in to play.
I want to preface this with I am still a beginner to guitar only on my 4th year of playing. That being noted I am not always the most knowledgeable on things
I went to get my Stratocaster tremelo bridge floated. When I asked politely if he could float it, the owner responded with and im paraphrasing “Stratocasters have been made this way since the 1960’s and they never have once changed. Sorry”
It came off very condescending and arrogant, and ultimately turned out to be incorrect information. As I went to another store about an hour away to get the same thing done, after reading an article written by Leo Fender detailing his regret of not floating the tremolo bridge out of factory and a hundred videos on how to do so!
I love the store and the events that are thrown surrounding the importance of the community, but now am choosing to avoid it because of said encounter!
2. Morey’s Music Store Inc
Address: 4834 Woodruff Ave #576, Lakewood, CA 90713 , London , California , United States
Wide selection of instruments & accessories, really helpful an polite staff
Got exactly what I needed.
I’ve read all the previous reviews and believed they were lacking cunstructive feedback. Both times I arrived at Moreys Music Store I was very pleased with the attitudes of all the employees that work there. Very humble and not judgmental. The store was clean and organized as expected in most entrepreneur sheet music stores you’ll find. There customer service keeps me coming back, unfortunately, the focus on pianos, piano parts, piano repair, and keyboard repair is a almost non existent and I assume most likely do to the limited space, capacity, and customer traffic. Granted, they did refer me to, with business cards, where I can find the help I needed. Also they have plenty of trainers, for all levels of skill, for almost all modern instruments I’ve learned from one of the employees. This will be the only place I get all of my sheet music from in Lakewood/Long Beach area.
Knowledgeable and friendly people work here; I’ll be back when I need to rent additional musical instruments.
Good service.
Knowledgeable.
I will never shop there again. This morning 12/26/18, I went to the store hoping to buy a new cello case. I entered the store and walked to the back of the store to look around. Not one worker even tried to assist me. After looking at the cello cases, I walked toward the front of the store to look at different violin/cello method books because I play and teach both instruments. During that time, a few customers walked in and the workers quickly greeted and assisted them. This is about the third time this has happened to me. I will never shop there or refer any of my students to shop there. I will just have to purchase their supplies elsewhere and have my students purchase the products from me. I will also go online and purchase my cello case elsewhere. That’s too bad because they really do ha e nice, quality products.
Not knowledgeable about guitars!! They use to be great.
They didn’t everything wrong. Intonation was wrong and set up was inferior. They put the right strings on which is basically all that was right. Took longer than they promised and didn’t bother letting me know it was done.
3. Guitar Center
Address: 14209 Ventura Blvd, Sherman Oaks, CA 91423 , London , California , United States
ES MI LUGAR FAVORITO
PARA COMPRAR MIS INSTRUMENTOS..Y LO BUENO QUE EL PERSONAL ES MUY AMABLE Y LE AYUDAN EN TODO
GRACIAS GUITAR CENTER
Always buy my guitars there.
Well staffed, good selection of drums and guitars, and quiet rooms to play. parking in the back open til 9p
I ordered an amp and it got there okay not a whole lot of customers in thier anymore they got to do better promotion . I wish they would stay away from guitars and stuff made in China.
Encuentras todo lo que busques mientras de music se habla, el lugar es muy grande y tienen una gran variedad, el personal es muy amable.
Excellent place to shop for musical instruments and accessories.
Wasted my time. Useless staff; useless management
Worst experience.will never buy again from them. Had to go there couple of times to get my stuff. And it was missing the mandatory accesorries as well.
They lie about the used product
Condition .Don’t buy used stuff online from them I got broken stuff many times and could not find the parts to fix them.. They hold you 30 minutes+ waiting on the phone
and then tell you they will call you back in the next couple of hours but they never call you back in the hope of that you give up on that.
This is about all Guitar Center braches not just this location.
My Husband Called this place on 12/2/2016 on more information on speaker rentals associate stated person incharge of dept was on lunch but i would get a call back within 15 to 20 mins got my name and phone # down like 3 hours went by i called again for a 2nd time the same associare answered and said he hasnt called you and he said i will have him call you right away. Now 1/3/2016 and no phone call 0 customer service.4
4. Sam Ash Music Stores
Address: 7360 Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90046 , London , California , United States
I bought a used Larrivee guitar that is probably the best guitar I have ever owned including several Martins and Gibson, the staff knows their products well and answers any questions promptly, I will no doubt buy more products from Sam Ash…
非常齐全的乐器店。
Love this place
I love the service Sam Ash offers you. Great prices also. I come here every now and then to purchase guitar or piano and they are just great at customer service. Highly recommend this place!
They are very helpful and easy going!
Nothing was free
Gave my husband the wrong pod for his guitar, and it caused a pickup to burn out. Would not trust them again. They may have a better deal on their parts, but its not worth it.
Es triste que una tienda como esa,no te haga valida la garantia y te cobre cuando aun tienes media vida de garantia y o pagas o no te reparan por algo que es defecto del instrumento.
5. Stan’s Music
Address: 56636 29 Palms Hwy, Yucca Valley, CA 92284 , London , California , United States
Great staff, very informed and helpful. Just started my guitar lessons today and I’m really enjoying them
I’ve connected with the family of Co workers there at the store. I’ve always wanted to take lessons there and it’s my personal favorite place to go rather than guitar center. By a mile!
Super helpful and friendly.
Great place ..has everything I need
Browns Music has shut down a compleetly diffrent music store has moved in called Stan’s Music.
Nice place, Stan knows what he is talking about. I was looking for drum stuff but not much there.
I love the store and their prices but I’ve only ever been able to go in once or twice. They always seem to be closed even when they’re supposedly open. Kind of sucks when they’re the only music store in town.
Nice folks got some nice things in the shop! BUT I had a set up and string change done after traveling from the east coast and it looked like a child wrapped the strings around the tuners.. and it would not stay in tune (obviously) so would not recommend a set up!
6. Adam’s Music
Address: 11742 W Pico Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90064 , London , California , United States
So glad I found this place! Small store but as is typical if small places, the staff was super friendly and helpful. I got all my clarinet needs taken care of here. I got to try out some new Vandoren reeds as well as their supply of mouthpieces before purchasing. I noticed they have practice rooms and lessons, which was cool.
Just came to browse and try out a piano. Even though I said I wasn’t there to buy anything the employee happily answered my questions and gave me advice. Super friendly and clearly knew his stuff.
Nice place
Depending how, when or who you contact to, you got a different pricing for the same item. I needed my violin restrung with Dominant strings and was quoted over the phone by staff-G for $65 including installation. Two days later in that weekend, I was asked in the store by staff-R to pay $92 for the same job. If I really paid the latter and I didn’t in fact, just kept me wondering why the pricing was so much different. However, the staff In general are kind, knowledgeable and skillful. No trace of racism was found as quoted by the previous customer.
Very friendly but this music shop is geared towards music lessons.
I rented a bass guitar for one month, everything went fine. Prices are average and service is good. I definitely would recommend it.
7. Guitar Center
Address: 7425 Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90046 , London , California , United States
Everything I need per my percussion set up. If they don’t have it, Sam Ash next door just might.
Be prepared this place is awesome. A lot of history.
The employees are doing their best to provide great service. Unfortunately Guitar Center themself are not provided the best quality instruments or pricing at this location… If by chance you happen to be shopping for a lefty? You won’t find anything here! We ended up having to order something online and have it shipped to the store.
Guitar department getting worse and worse, 2k guitars out of tune and have very poor setup.
String on most guitars are black color..
But prices go up regularly, no problem with that..
Staff is pretty friendly though, that’s why 3 stars..
I will have to see how the equipment fairs ,as I have purchased depending on the knowledge of the salesperson.
Not sorry so too bad but this is what it is The guitar center on Hollywood location has the Worst customer services and overall terrible experience with the employees. Unfortunately Too bad…I won’t be a customer of theirs anymore at the Hollywood due to very unprofessional unpleasant business manners and ridiculous offer estimates…this is not good at all enough for anyone who is a good loyal customer of Guitar center.
Background: I decided to buy myself a Denon DJ console. I placed an order on the site, and chose to pick up the order from the store, because I did not want to wait. As a result, I paid for the order, came to the store hoping to pick up the device, but they told me to wait until they check it, I think, okay, why can’t you check it now, and they could show me right away, but no, they told me you can get it tomorrow. I left the store disappointed. The next day comes, they call me and ask for confirmation of payment. I have a separate story about this. But after sending a screenshot of the payment, I still did not receive the goods, because the employees of this terrible store are still checking my remote. To be honest, all the desire was gone to pick up the device. For that there was a desire to sue them. I have already spent so much nerves communicating with these employees. Terrible service, I will never buy or order goods here again.
Wow…Poor deals and very bad attitude and extremely awful customer services it’s a total scam and rip off on guitars don’t waste your time and money at this Guitar Center…FYI…
8. Caveman Vintage Music
Address: 3231 N Main St, Los Angeles, CA 90031 , London , California , United States
AMAZING inventory, really kind and accommodating staff. Ask to try something, they’re very cool about letting customers try gear. Eric is really knowledgeable and will chat about any piece you’re interested in. Great shop!
Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Packed with legendary music equipment. The only way to get higher quality used gear is to buy a time machine and go back 50 years.
This place has got a cool vibe, a nice selection of vintage amps and you cant beat the customer service. But I think prices are a bit on the high side and that brings the rating down. Just my opinion.
Cool place
I understand they have to make money that’s exactly what they do they have great vintage instruments and amplifiers
9. Tall Toad Music
Address: 43 Petaluma Blvd N, Petaluma, CA 94952 , London , California , United States
Tall Toad is consistently the most helpful, friendly, accessible music store in Sonoma County. Great staff is knowledgeable and amiable, available for questions and advice, and you leave knowing that playing music is for everybody at every level. Thanks Chris and Fabian!
This store is the real deal.
Chris and the staff at Tall Toad are great. I’ve always been intimidated by music stores but at Tall Toad they value all their customers and it really shows. Can’t wait to go back!
I don’t much like these guys. I worked right around the corner from them and saw them regularly. Fake would be a good way to describe them. Also the manager told me I could drop my guitar off (his idea) before they opened because I wouldn’t be able to leave work until after they’d be closed. I brought the guitar by a week later before they opened and he didn’t remember me. He gave me an attitude, just staring at me and pointing at their open time printed on the window. If you’ve got a personality best kept to a cubicle in the basement maybe you shouldn’t be involved in customer service, in any capacity.
10. McCabe’s Guitar Shop
Address: 3101 Pico Blvd, Santa Monica, CA 90405 , London , California , United States
Friendly to musicians of all ages and skill levels. Relaxing atmosphere. Friendly and helpful staff. The store offers a lot of services too, including lessons, guitar repair, and concerts.
Don’t forget to grab a free guitar pick when you visit!
It’s a music mecca. One can’t possibly have a bad time at McCabes.
And that’s a Dipso Facto!
MC Cable’s Guitar Shop is one of the places to shop for guitars with excellent quality & great satisfaction.
Wonderful selection of instruments . Great concerts . Friendly people .
You can pick exotic instruments from the wall and play them, and store employees won’t haggle you. This place specializes in all kinds of string instruments, especially unusual stuff. I’d give 5 stars but they’re kind of pricey compared to buying online.
I guess you have to know what you need first in order to fully appreciate McCabes. I’ve walked through it several times, yet never have I been greeted or offered any sales assistance. They do have an amazing selection of guitars, from dirt cheap to priceless, but you have to wander from room to room, somewhat like a rat in a maze. Example: Is that a employee hallway lined with guitars, or is that a path leading to another part of the shop? There is no way to know for sure.
The child that does guitar setups should take a class in humanity! Rude and and talked down to me and my kid.. been going to this shop since 82 and was happy to know covid didnt take down the business BUT this guy should NOT be working with customers – he can set up a guitar not like he found the cure to cancer – you need to be kind man!! Or hit the bricks!!
Came in with my instrument for repair on 1 string
Repairman was rude, unhelpful and basically told me to screw off because he doesn’t fix unusual instruments.
I wouldn’t come back ever! Nor will I recommend this shop to my colleagues
The customer service was unbelievably bad. Incredibly condescending guitar tech offered no explanations or really any interest in being helpful at all. Worst of all, At the end of it all they offer to restring my guitar (with the strings that I bought from home) for 50 DOLLARS. 50 whole dollars just to put MY strings on. Never before have I been so moved to write a review for a place, but McCabe’s deserves it.
11. Truetone Music
Address: 714 Santa Monica Blvd, Santa Monica, CA 90401 , London , California , United States
This place is a paradise. Anyone can grab a Gibson and play, and the staff won’t mind even though you suck.
I love Truetone! Just bought another guitar from them yesterday, they beat all of the online prices (Sweetwater, Music123, Amazon, Sam Ash), and I feel good about supporting a local business with friendly and knowledgable salespeople.
Cool old school guitar shop. My musician hubby loves it. They are always nice here even though we didn’t buy anything.
Great selection
always get my guitar and pedals here!
Good selection of high quality guitars with competitive prices.
They aren’t too friendly though and make it very clear to visitors that they are running a business, not a jam studio.
The place itself is beautiful- like a museum where you can buy things; I’ve thoroughly enjoyed browsing several times and always see something new and interesting. The service is generally courteous and attentive. I took my guitar in because it was buzzing and they fixed $91.00 worth of everything else; being told that they polished the frets and adjusted various parts of the guitar in unexplained and unverifiable ways after leaving it there for over two weeks felt a lot like when a homeless guy walks up to your car at a stop light and tries to wash the windshield for tips- I was like, ‘…but I didn’t ask for any of this and it still buzzes’ so what now? I was told that I should expect ‘a certain amount of buzzing on any guitar’ at least a dozen times before I agreed to just pay and leave. My main complaint is that if there’s nothing to be done about the buzzing then they should have said that when I brought it in instead of keeping it for a fortnight just to charge me for unrelated mystery repairs. I won’t be going back there because I don’t have money to waste but if you do have some disposable income I can’t deny they have the coolest stuff for sale.
Had a terrible experience trying to have a Fender Jag worked on. Will never use Truetone again.
Experienced one of the worst customer service situations I have ever faced. I never take the time to write reviews (positive or negative) but I had to for this one of out principle.
Brought in a guitar to be tuned up and was told it would be two weeks before it was finished. Although I thought it was a long time I didn’t mind.
However two weeks passed and still no sign of my guitar being completed so I called multiple times in the following week to get an update. Each time I was met by a gentlemen (not the same people) over the phone who did not care about the lateness of my order, and gave me an attitude when I talked to them.
Finally canceled my order because I was over it. It was only at this point when I notified them that I was canceling, did I get a call back saying they were ready to work on my guitar.
Expected much more from a business that seems to pride itself on it’s quality of work. Maybe I’m a possible outlier of a bad experience, but I feel like each customer should matter just the same and if one customer isn’t happy that should be a problem to your business.
12. Boulevard Music
Address: 4316 Sepulveda Blvd, Culver City, CA 90230 , London , California , United States
I became a customer many years ago, first drawn by their great concerts and workshops. They have a kind and helpful staff, lots of nice Martin and Eastman guitars and more – and even a few banjos, mandolins, etc. I always learn something from their employees every time I go. Really a great place.
Boulevard Music is one of those little gems in Los Angeles, tucked away in full sight….
This place is awesome! Took my new bass for a set up at another music shop and was told something was wrong with my truss rod so they couldn’t adjust it but still charged me full price. Brought it to Boulevard Music and i forget the repair guy’s name but he adjusted my truss rod and didn’t charge me! He wouldn’t take my money! Highly recommend Boulevard Music!
They are pretty nice but… I bought a Martin guitar at a good price there. I am a practicing medical doctor. I am fully vaccinated, have no symptoms and wear a mask; I wash my hands and use antiseptic gels all day. My cuticle is cracked and bleeding from all the washing and gels. They will not let you enter without hand washing or antiseptic gel. The hospitals and clinic do not require this and the county does not require this (they encourage it, yes). They have a right to make up any rule they want, but this is not directed by the county health department.
Extremely unhelpful with very few items available. Very disappointing.
No good customer service at this place the guy in the front did not help at all
This place tried to rip me off on trumpet repairs. I had a stuck valve, a small part of a bell that needed to be hammered back in place, and I asked for a cleaning. They tried to charge me $1049 and then they offered a price for my horn at $100. I found another place that was willing to fix it for $150. I have been playing for 20 years and have had repairs in the past, but never seen a place that tried to pull this kind of scam. Don’t go here ever. They will try to rip you off.
13. Future Music
Address: 5112 York Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90042 , London , California , United States
Future Music is the Best Music Store in Los Angeles! I know every music store in town, Guitar Center, Sam Ash, in Hollywood are good, but for Personal Attention, FUTURE MUSIC in Highland Park is one of the Finest in the Industry! JIMI JAM
Pro advice from a string-man who has been on the front lines of both live and recorded performance, personally dealing with all the many demands placed on the professional performing artist, These guys want to help you develop and practice your art, and they know what it’s like on the road and in the studio. Jack blows me away with his photographic memory and knowledge of obscure but cool gear. He knew my Japanese Strat was an ’89 with one look at the front of the guitar and no serial number or other designations on the headstock. If they don’t have it they know where to get it! Their luthier, Greg Coates, also appears to be at the top of his game, opening my eyes to better ways of achieving a perfect setup than simply leveling frets. This is my new one-stop music store – great to have them on the east side!
This is a great store, pretty unique in its selection, and the fact it has been around for so long is a testament to the owner.
Great selection, pretty lousy service. Half of the stuff in the shop is broken, none of it is plugged in (despite it being 90% keyboards and synthesizers), so good luck trying something before you buy it. They have a nice selection of used gizmos and gadgets though, and I assume the proprietor is nicer if you need something fixed or come in the store with $5k to drop on a vintage moog.
This is a weird spot, there’s some pretty rare oddities and unique items that are fun to see in person if you’re into vintage synths/audio equipment. The problem is the prices are absolutely outrageous (well above market price) and the synths are not nearly in good enough condition to justify it. The space is incredibly disorganized and messy, so I wouldn’t recommend it for someone who wants a more professional environment. It’s a fun showroom, but not much more.
This place sucks!
I took my guitar in to resoder my pick ups. The dude there said it would be about 15 bucks. I come back a week later and the bill was 120 dollars. The guitar tech took it upon himself to “fix the other problems” sure he fixed some stuff but honestly its giving me some problems right now and I broke a string the same day i got i back. But come on it’s like going to the mechanic for an oil change and the guy goes “oh you needed a new engine so I decided to fix it all up for you, thatll be 2000 dollars” I wish they would’ve called me first and tell me what’s up. Really wasn’t cool
Cracked the finish of my $2,000 guitar – be careful when you bring instruments in there. You don’t get direct access to the tech and the owner is very sketchy. I stopped going there after that incident and am much happier with another business.
14. Zargarian Music Center
Address: 1423 1/2 W Kenneth Rd, Glendale, CA 91201 , London , California , United States
Really cool little shop! It had so many neat instruments and the people working there were so nice and helpful. 10/10 must see shop!
Epperson Music is Rad! I found my favorite ukulele yet! It is a beautiful acoustic/electric. Cory is also such a kind and chill person. Very helpful. Reasonable prices. Check it out!
Fantastic owner and great business! I was looking into buying a guitar there but didn’t like the way it played so he lowered the action, oiled the frets and replaced the strings for me! I came in the next day and it played so much better and smoother so I bought it!
16. Kenny’s Music School and Shop
Address: 24731 La Plaza, Dana Point, CA 92629 , London , California , United States
Kenny’s music is awesome! I took lessons from Brett for many years and I still get advice from him. They are extremely professional and I would definitively recommend buying instruments from them and also lessons. My playing skills greatly improved over the time span I took lessons and I owe it all to Kenny’s music. You are the best in Orange County and thank you!
Thanks,
Kisar S. Dhillon
Love these guys! Have purchased instruments for the kids, as well as music books. They are fair, honest, and family run! Love having them in our town!
We have been going to Kenny’s Music for years and we absolutely love it! Kimberly is a real sweetheart, always there to greet us with a friendly smile. Kenny’s lessons are engaging and comprehensive, and now our whole family goes to Kenny’s for bass, piano, guitar and drum lessons. Whether you’re a classically trained seasoned musician or just getting started, Kenny’s is the place to go!
17. Dana Point Music
Address: 24699 Del Prado Ave #B, Dana Point, CA 92629 , London , California , United States
I reccomend Sandman’s Music School to anyone who wants to take their playing to the next level!”
Amazing guitar lessons! Beautiful store & such a nice owner❤️
We went in for a viola mute, and although they didn’t have one, the woman called 4 other music stores trying to find one for us! We were blown away by that and have committed that whenever we need something we’ll be going to Danman’s Music.
We also have several family friends that send their kids to Danman’s and have nothing but great things to say about their teaches – in vocal, guitar and piano.
Best service. None of the big chain stores come close.
So far so good!! My daughter really likes Gigi!
18. Strings & Things
Address: 901 N Main St, Lakeport, CA 95453 , London , California , United States
Owner is very nice and was very helpful. Not a large showroom but I found everything I needed and there was a lot of guitars and amps to look through.
Great quality work very detailed if he is working on your instruments, very educational if you want to learn something new, very polite owner, and great instruments for amazing prices.
Lesson was good
Very helpful!
Would be a halfway decent place if they had more organization. Was very hard to find anything. And also maybe more musical instruments for sale. New ones.
I found Jim to be cold and disinterested, borderline hostile unfortunately. I order the strings he has never heard of online. Jim appears to be a bit of a fence. I would question the provenance of an instrument from this shop. The music shoppe from a Stephen King film.
19. Walmart Supercenter
Address: 5125 E Kings Canyon Rd, Fresno, CA 93727 , London , California , United States
I like the new woman’s clothing sections different styles and new wardrobe ideas
Love the variety of things that they sell here.
Its relatively clean whenever I go here. Its always so packed though. The staff is alright. Self checkout is very convient, even though some people can’t scan.
This supercenter is not open 24 hrs. Workers are under staffed as with the servive.
Son malos para contestar llamadas les falta más servicio para contestar en español
Too many cameras in store, ugly feeling in there stores
Fresno sucks
They might have remodeled it but this place is still ghetto af. I used to go here until an employee was rude to me so now I go to the one on ashlan.
20. Grayson’s Tune Town
Address: 2415 Honolulu Ave, Montrose, CA 91020 , London , California , United States
Very professional, very knowledgeable and an absolutely excellent staff. This is the place to go if you’re serious about your instruments and the music that you play.
I recently bought a used guitar from Conner. We agreed on a fair price and the guitar was shipped. Unfortunately UPS didn’t deliver as quickly. Conner was very helpful and we navigated through the delays together. Guitar was exactly as described. I’m a happy customer.
Excellent customer service! Very knowledgeable and helpful staff. Simply the best buying experience I’ve had in a very long time.
I’ve lived in the area since 1994. I’ve had a 2013 Gibson LPJ set up here ( Thumbs up Win !) before and have bought strings, cables, bass lessons for my oldest and guitar lessons for my youngest. It’s great to have a neighborhood music store within minutes from my house. I play 7 instruments and have played guitar since 1967. Good vibes with GTT up until today when I came in to purchase an EHX Attack Decay Pedal. Normally I buy pedals from Guitar Center or Reverb but I really wanted this pedal “NOW”. Everything was as usual, friendly, efficient, knowledgeable service but after my purchase I quickly asked if the pedal was “New” and the sales clerk immediately replied yes. I opened the box and saw the plastic bag was faded and wrinkled as opposed to the bag that held the P/S. This would mean it’s possibly used, or a demo. The kids had to get home in a hurry so I thought I’d look at it again at home. If a pedal isn’t new and it malfunctions in some way then?? As I thought it wasn’t new but an “open box” purchase. I called back and GTT verified this and told me the pedal had been kept in the display case without it’s box which makes total sense. I’m keeping the pedal for one because the retail price for this reissue is unbelievable. I don’t think I can return it anyway because of store policy. Guitar Center doesn’t do this nor Sam Ash or any other Music store I’ve bought from unless it’s the last unit and they will tell you if the unit is not “brand new”. It’s not a big deal but I feel there was some deception and being 65 yrs old I feel I was being judged as a naive non or beginner guitar player. Looks like I’ll have to be on my toes and take my time on future purchases at GTT. Again it’s the deception or lack of info that is concerning me. This pedal is so sweet!
What a great independent music store. I drive 30 minutes each way to take my guitars for repair since I haven’t been able to find anyone good near me.
OK store but they should get rid of that Connor kid. He’s very rude to customers and acts like he is better than everyone.
Terrible place. That fat kid Connor was very rude to me. Never going here again.
