Greg Erickson is a master craftsman creating one of a kind instruments. If you are looking for heirloom quality guitars that are not only beautiful but also sound and feel incredible this is the place.
There’s no store front..Are you sure this is a shop? Standing in front of this place (I think) right now, and just a door with a o on it..lol
Awesome place. Highly, highly recommended if you are in town. Listened to a singer songwriter night and the intimacy was phenomenal. The guitars on the wall were beautiful and the beer was cold! Please please do yourself a favor and go here!!
Great place to hangout and listen to live music.
Really nice venue and nice live music.
This place is right next door to the hotel we were staying at which was very convenient. City of Solvang closes super early but this place is basically the only place that stays open until midnight. They also have outdoor tables.
We came at 8 and each got a drink. They have a limited list of wine, beer, and beverages. We sat down to enjoy the live performance by Jackson Gillies. Had an absolute wonderful time. This was Friday night. My friend had beer while I had rose.
We had a wonderful time and couldn’t wait to return. The next day, Saturday, places nearby had live music until 9 and this place was the place to be after 9. We came in and the artist was on break, however the person behind the bar told us it’ll resume soon until 11 and $10 cover charge.
I looked on the website and confirmed it did say $10 cover charge but we weren’t charged the night before. Maybe they meant $10 minimum purchase? I’m sorry, but I’m not going to pay cover for a band I don’t know when I’m going to buy multiple drinks with tip and tip the artist. For that reason, I’m knocking down a star.
This was a really neat little place to listen to music. Beer and wine available and the restroom is outside behind the building where you’ll need a #code.
I went to this venue on 03/25/22. The concert itself was fantastic, in no small part due to the great sound system this place has.
However, there was a party of six in the first row that were far too drunk for such an intimate venue. They consistently disrupted the opening performers: talking, yelling, tripping over chairs. They were warned by the performers to stop, but they continued to be disruptive.
It was the main performer who, after his first song, finally asked them to be removed. They left cursing at him to his face, and one individual, having already been taken outside, returned screaming “never meet your idols” during the next song.
I understand that the venue has limited control over how much their patrons drink, and I also understand that such removals can be difficult, especially in a place where those you are removing may be locals, friends, family, etc. Yet it was clear from very early in the concert that these people were going to be an issue, and it is unfortunate that the performer had to be the one to lay down the law. That put him in an unnecessary, embarrassing situation, one he apologized for despite it being clearly not his fault.
This could have been managed by the venue’s staff beforehand, and I would encourage them to consider their approach to such situations in the future.
Play insanely loudly until 11:30PM when they are RIGHT NEXT DOOR TO A HOTEL. Screw you guys
I have had experience with Dewey Roberts Music for many years, and I can tell you that in addition to being a very talented guitarist, singer, and songwriter, he is extremely hard working, responsible, and dedicated. Whether you need live music for an event, an original song written for you, or become one of his students of guitar or saxophone, you will not be disappointed! He is friendly, ethical, and very easy to work with. I highly recommend Dewey Roberts Music!
6. Los Olivos Wine Merchant & Cafe
Address: 2879 Grand Ave, Los Olivos, CA 93441 , Los Olivos , California , United States
This is a high end eatery in a down home little town. The artisan cheese plate is a must starter no matter what else you choose to eat.
Tasty food, nice atmosphere. Recommended!
Always a great meal, love sitting at the bar. Fantastic wine and pizza!
Comida como sempre muito gostosa! Um local muito legal!
I had a simple but truly delicious turkey sandwich on ciabatta bread, service was great considering we arrived during busy lunch hours & the need for more servers every where!
Had a good lunch
Went here for my birthday dinner yesterday, and was thoroughly disappointed. We waited over an hour for two pizzas and an appetizer. After the second reminder, we found out they had forgot about the appetizer.
The first pizza came out cold, it had to clearly been sitting out. We sent it back to get reheated, which took another 20 minutes. The second pizza came out, burnt and inedible.
It was a busy Saturday night and the service staff was trying to do everything to make us happy but the kitchen was clearly in disarray.
I will not be coming here ever again.
Service was sad, not that busy and felt neglected
I love this place. Great selection excellent customer service, quaint Cafe

Very nice staff, offers many option at an affordable price.
Nick Rail has friendly and knowledgeable staff, and their service department has everything done in a timely manor. Great atmosphere, makes you want to learn to play a new instrument.
I came in here to get my trumpet serviced, and they did an amazing job with it and it has never felt any better, the workers here at Nick Rail are not only fantastic with Thierry customer service but they are very knowledgeable.
Very good helpfuL music associate clerks…. A
Great line of Ukulelè instruments. . . Good rateinge of fourStars. . .
Professional friendly staff, they fully explained the repair process. Took a bit longer than I wanted but quality repair of my flute.
Great little music shop with high quality instruments, such as Taylor guitars, and some unusual surprises. Friendly staff, always a pleasure to shop there.
I was calling to get a price estimate, and when I asked “can I get a price estimate on a drum set” they hung up. I thought this was a music shop. Very rude and disrespectful.
I was really looking forward to renting a clarinet from this location. Unfortunately, the service was terrible and I decided against it. Try a different music shop or try ordering online.
Horrible communication and it took nearly 3 months to repair my guitar. Terrible service…do not recommend.
8. Jensen Guitar & Music Co.
Address: 2830 De La Vina St, Santa Barbara, CA 93105 , Los Olivos , California , United States
Guitar has never sounded better after their setup service!! I bought my first guitar there 10 years ago and they’ve always been great! Thanks Jensens!
Had to have an emergency repair done before a show these guys had me out the door and no time for a marginal expense. Super knowledgeable guitar techs for both electric and acoustic. Excellent service.
Love this store. I’ve been coming here for years, and I always leave feeling happy and satisfied…maybe it’s all the guitars. But seriously, all the people I’ve experienced here love music, enjoy helping people and Jensen seems to have someone who knows about every style of music you can think of. This will continue to be my first stop whenever I need a new instrument or advice. Their prices are competitive too.
worst experience ever. be warned
Worst Shop. But sadly the only guitar store Locally.
I have had employee’s ignore me, to just play guitar.. to having employee’s talk down to me over string gauges.
You don’t talk down to someone who is giving you money.
NOT JUST THAT, but the one dude did not even listen to what I said, last time I was there.
I was shopping for strings for my 8 string, and I said: “Hi, I am looking for strings for an 8 string”.
and he said: “We don’t sell 8s”
… Guitarists know that means 8 gauge strings..
I didn’t ask for 8s I clearly said 8 STRING guitar STRINGS.
Then when I pointed out the 3 different packs of strings behind him, he got standoffish with me and then proceeded to talk down to me like I didn’t know string gauges.
I’ve played guitar for nearly 20 years now. I have moved allover California, and this is the WORST store I’ve ever been in. Sucks that Instrumental Music Closed down. Worst store, next to one in Ventura that stinks of incense and the dude was just.. a little odd. Really friendly, but a little overly friendly, But it is better than Standoffish employees.
Also looking at other reviews on here, I have NEVER heard anyone say any of those things about the store
“Knowledgeable”, the 3 times I have been in, I knew more.
“Cool People”, right the people who ignored me, scoffed in my face when I said I was only browsing, and then that one dude for strings.. yea.. real cool.
“Prices are Fair and Competitive”, I’d disagree on 60% or more of their products. I can buy strings, picks, cables, pickups, and GUITARS cheaper literally anywhere else I have been.
my 8 string, they had one used, same brand, same guitar, that was 300$ MORE, I found one NEW for 300$ less and it came with a hardcase.
And that is just my experience, I have not heard any of my friends, old SBCC Teachers (if they are guitarists), or students say anything GOOD about Jensen.
I have heard maybe ONE person say they had an employee who repaired guitars that was actually nice and did a really good job. But I didn’t have that experience the 3-4 times I went in. Never will go again. I literally go down to Ventura to do music business now.
BE ADVISED!!! The phone number that is listed for Jenson’s Guitars is NOT their phone number but rather it is my home phone number and I am absolutely sick and tired of getting a couple dozen phone calls for these people who obviously don’t care about the deflected business. To be clear I have never been there and have no idea as to the in store service experience and thus the lowest rating only concerns the phone number dilemma.
9. Barbieri & Kempe Wines
Address: 2369 Alamo Pintado Ave, Los Olivos, CA 93441 , Los Olivos , California , United States
Enjoyed visiting the tasting room. Wine was excellent and owner was lovely. We enjoy our wine club membership all the way from New York.
I’ve always had a beyond pleasant experience when I visit Barbieri. Maybe it’s because I expect to enjoy good wine and have mutually enjoyable conversations with the people pouring the wines. Erin and Paulo care about their wine and their customers. The person who criticized Erin for describing the wines as she poured them is ridiculous. These wines are BIG REDS with tons of depth and flavor. I highly recommend Barbieri; both the people that own it and the quality of the product they put out. Make sure to stop by!
Ashley is amazing as a sommelier. Great wines for very reasonable prices. So fun! And the pup Penny makes the experience feel like home. Can’t wait to come back
Really enjoyed all the reds we had. Looking forward to tasting again when we are in town.
Love the back patio area to enjoy the amazing wine selection and let’s not forget the beyond magical cheese selection! We loved the wine so much we had to sign up for their wine club.
Barbieri & Kempe wine club is one of the few clubs we have joined, and tasting room is one of our favorites in the Santa Ynez area. The excellent wines are varied in taste, body, and complexity.
My disappointment started with the sign out front of the their tasting room in Los Olivos, that advertised “tasting today with a Master Somm”. The Master Somm was not there as advertised, but his pretentious assistant with her dog was. Said assistant made sure to tell me everything I should find in the wine before pouring it, which I neither asked for or wanted. The wines are average in quality and nowhere near the prices they charge. For a $15 tasting fee I was given four 1 oz pours. When I asked if they waived the tasting fee with purchase I was unpleasantly surprised to find they required a 3 bottle purchase to waive the fee. At this point it was a no-brainer to pay the overpriced tasting fee versus paying $120 or more for wine that is only worth half that amount. I have tasted wines throughout the US and in many well known international wine producing regions, and typically have been pleased with the experience, not so much here.
Came in on a Sunday afternoon and only two other tastings were going on. After walking up to the bar we were half heartedly greeted by “Paulo” (I presume is the master somm). After being asked “which tasting do you want?” and responding with “we need a moment to review the wines” we were never greeted again. Waited almost 15min… the female worker who was pouring for the other two tastings continued to clean glasses and do side work rather than help. We did not get another look from Paulo either, even though we let him know we were referred by another winery. Very disappointed. Terrible service. We visited 6 tasting rooms throughout the day and this was the most pretentious of them all. Zero interest in ever going back.
Unfortunately, the staff member made it very clear that she was unhappy with our late arrival. (25 min before closing.) The wine wasn’t great, but even if it was, I’m not sure it would have made a difference. Will not return.
