My vehicle broke down and Kyle responded to the call on Sunday, Father’s Day. He was not in the least agitated that I took him out on a Sunday. I was very nervous and he was very personable. Would certainly recommend Mammoth to anyone and I’ll keep their number handy. Thanks Kyle!
Mark is by the far the most experienced tow truck driver I’ve ever come across. He towed my Volvo the proper way with the eye lid tool hook from the front bumper which I never saw done before on my car. Other tow drivers dragged the car from the bottom, but this method is the proper way from what I learned from Mark. Overall he was very friendly and professional and it was a good experience. I highly recommend them.
The experience and service provided by Eric was outstanding. This guy is the real MVP! We needed assist with an Amazon branded van that was stuck in a wash. Eric effortlessly recovers our van without causing any damage. Light work for the big dog Eric! Thank you Eric and Mammoth Towing.
Awesome
They were very friendly and down to earth. They did an amazing job. Thank you so much for all your help.please stay safe out there.
Good guys, helped me out BIG TIME!!! Thanks
This business will rob you, don’t stand their products and warrenties…bought a battery$225. from them, sold a dead, bad battery then gave us a HUGE hassle on exchanging it,and won’t stand up for warranty..theives and crooks…
Still a bunch of not so noce people. To put it kindly.
My honda was Stuck in the sand needed to be pulled out took over an hour and a half for them to arrive. I was 20 miles from their shop. took less than 10 minutes to use wench to pull my honda out. I was treated disdainfully by the driver who was training a new employee while I sat in 104° temperatures. The final charge was $275.00 . Needless to say I will never use them or refer them again.
2. De-No Music Center
Address: 801 E Florence Blvd # B, Casa Grande, AZ 85122 , Mammoth , Arizona , United States
These guys mean business and always take good care of my instruments. I recommend them to anyone.
Good service they all ways good prices on items and helpful
Best music shop.
Great help getting my son’s instrument
Went to buy a guitar but no assistance from the clerk was offered and large sign indicated you can’t touch them without assistance so we left. Makes it difficult to make a purchase. To be fair the clerk was waiting on another customer but just continued to ignore us and didn’t even bother to say “hello” when we entered the store. Not much available there in the way of instruments unless you need used amps, guitar stands, cheap guitars, or ukuleles.
I’ve been there quite a few times before. As a child the owner was alright but somehow he just became rude after a while. There was a time when I was 19(9 years ago) and there was an 800 dollar Jackson on the wall that I really wanted. I brought $850 dollars with me and jammed out on it for about 5 minutes, the owner came up to me and said “If you put one scratch on this I’m going to make you pay for it, do you understand?” I know I look young and I looked about 15 at the time but there have been several times(like yesterday{let me play for 4 minutes and told my party to leave when I wanted to buy a practice amp}) that I brought money in to make a purchase of over 300 dollars and he makes me uncomfortable or says something rude. If you need a reed, or if you need a rental, this is a good place. If you’re a musician, and you want to try stuff out, drive 40 minutes, the owner has been rude to me for 15 years. I swear he hates musicians.
Came in for guitar picks and strings and was thinking of buying an acoustic guitar on the wall. I asked if I could play it he said “yes”. I played a couple chords and got kicked out for playing it to “hard”.
3. Majestic Music LLC
Address: 4431 S White Mountain Rd # C10, Show Low, AZ 85901 , Mammoth , Arizona , United States
The best music shop on the mountains, and I’m including Payson and Flagstaff. The owner is knowledgeable and accommodating.
A marvelous place.
Great service at a fair price. Steve helped me select the perfect guitar. Answered all my questions and asked a few to assist in recommendation. I tried and played four, then decided.
Highly recommend
Prices are very close to online e.g. amazon.
Love the store great service.
Large selection
Oldest guy there was being very rude and threw an the amp cord that i was using while testing a guitar on the ground
4. Milano Music
Address: 38 W Main St, Mesa, AZ 85201 , Mammoth , Arizona , United States
Awesome Customer Service thank you for making my child smile from ear to ear!!
nice place founded what I am looking for stuff very nice
Milanos music is a great place for staff members and for rentals. My family had been renting for years with milanos. After 5ish years of renting it was time to buy an instrument to own. Buying the instrument and just being able to try out all the instruments was great! My sister had rented and also had some money built up so we used that towards a case and a bow. I’ve been going to milanos for things as new rosin, a new shoulder rest, and sheet music. This recent I went to milanos for a bow rehair. 60$ for the rehair so I assumed it would be good. The bow was ready within a week. Good service I thought. I took the bow assuming that it was fine. I showed my teacher and he just went “oh my god you need to return that”. Same time I had bought a bow for about 250$ that was getting a complimentary rehair. I got that bow back yesterday. Yesterday as well 1/10/22 I had went back to get a refund on the rehair. The person who did said it was “user error” and played it off as a smart tart. I went somewhere else for the rehair. The new bow I had bought that got the complimentary rehair was far worse than the first bow I had gotten rehaired. The new bow that I had bought with the complimentary rehair I had returned today 1/11/22. The staff BESIDES THE ONES IN THE STRING DEPARTMENT (specifically the one with shaggy hair and a beard) we’re excellent to me and issued my refund successfully. The one I said specifically was disrespectful. Unfortunately I will never be going back to milanos music due to this experience. The staff is excellent. Beth the violin viola string specialist was an amazing help to me through all of this. Milanos is a great company with employees and music (linton milanos) but for repairs and rehairs go somewhere else for them. I hope you read this review with consideration of your music experience and where you want to go with your music life.
Good spot. Nice variety of gear, though not vast. Still, a good Mom and Pop style business.
Friendly staff and if you are into music this is the local place to go
Too expensive!
The cost to rent a clarinet was $200 for the school year. You can buy one NEW on Amazon for $100. I brought the instrument back 1 hour after rental and they still charged me for the month. Used to hear great things about this place.
I was waiting in line for a rental for about 20 min given it is a busy time of the year but everyone who walked up after me got attended to first. Just seemed very selective which rubbed me the wrong way.
5. Chicago Music Store
Address: 45 S 6th Ave, Tucson, AZ 85701 , Mammoth , Arizona , United States
I have gone to Chicago store for years. They always treat me like family. They take care of my students and I with gold star service. I will always be a loyal customer.
I bought a used guitar for my daughter over Christmas, and when she started her lessons, her instructor said it was bad, with a range of issues and sugested a replacement. Not knowing anything about it, I considered buying a new one, Instead I took it to Chicago to get a second opinion. It turns out it was heavily unadjusted and needed a full set up, strings and a whole lot of love. My daughter got it in her hands and loves it, she sais it feels and sounds like a whole new guitar. Thank you.
Friendly and great customer service!
Good customer service
Kind of small looks crammed up
They told me they only charge for the E string on a single re-string on my bass guitar during a phone call I had with them because i only needed one string to get fixed. Only to get charged about 20$ when I picked up my instrument, 17$ for the re-string labor & 3$ for the string?? i love this store but that did not sat right with me
This is a terrible store. The guy in charge is sleazy and their service is really bad. We went to a band rental night and this guy started yelling at everyone to come to his table. He really is embarrassing.
I agree, the service is not good. There is not much in the way of customer service. I never felt welcomed and they have a care-or-less attitude. It felt like I was bothering them. Especially if you need assistance with a low priced item. It’s too bad because when folks feel welcomed they hang around and part with their money. I hear the same thing from everybody. They all love the new store, the new location rocks, everything is organized but no one feels treated good by the staff. They got it all but they just need someone to come in there with some good sales experience and allow them to train and educate the staff. I bet they could double their profit if it was run properly. People should be lined up at the door every morning just to get in there and hang out with the staff. Just my two cents worth 🙂
6. Music & Arts
Address: 891 E Baseline Rd Suite 101, Gilbert, AZ 85233 , Mammoth , Arizona , United States
Very nice experience here. Everyone was friendly and very helpful.
Helpful employee who gave me a discount once he found out I am a music teacher.
A very friendly helpful staff and they didn’t try to sell me things I didn’t need.
Definitely not as friendly or helpful as the Power location.
It’s a good shop with kind staff and great teachers. But it’s missing some TLC. Cello bow options are limited and there’s this huge tent inside that is just in the way
This place is a great place. They are helping navigate being the mom of an orchestra student and it’s a task! They are so nice about helping me figure out what book I need to get him and what size chin rest he needs. They’re super nice.
Stood in front of store for 1 hour on Thursday no one there to open. Needed repairs and supplies had to go else where. New management can’t be like this if you expect to keep customers. Music and arts also just opened another “experimental” store dedicated to string instruments. That’s fine, fix your current stores before setting up new ones.
Very low selection of guitars employee was rude
Hi owner don’t reply to this also

7. Music & Arts
Address: 7040 E Hampton Ave, Mesa, AZ 85209 , Mammoth , Arizona , United States
Not the biggest music store, but friendly service and good prices on what I needed. ( Korg tuner, music stand & guitar books).
They were kind enough to let us jam on their amp and electric guitar
Buena variedad de música
Staff is very helpful and experienced!
Spent my money elsewhere because of the masks requirement.
NEGATIVE STARS IS MORE LIKE IT!!! I have had the WORST experience dealing with the customer service from Music and Arts. Everytime me or my husband try to call and resolve our bill we get told a different story! NOONE has helped us resolve the issue and it’s been over 4 months now. The amount of money I have paid Music and Arts already, I could have boughten an instrument. NOT worth the hassel and absolute HORRIBLE customer service!!! Save your money and time and go somewhere else!!
Went to the Music and Arts store today to purchase drumsticks and lessons. Couldn’t use my Canadian Credit card or American cash? Very disappointed
8. Guitar Center
Address: 1652 S Val Vista Dr Suite 118, Mesa, AZ 85204 , Mammoth , Arizona , United States
Awesome selection of guitars and amps. I picked up an American Strat and I love it.
Good selection of instruments. Way too pushy on the add ons: insurance, etc.
Not a big selection of high-end acoustic guitars.
Well stocked as most are, however very small inside.
Lessons sucked for a beginner
I do not like this location do to the poor consistency of customer service and care. I recommend driving the distance to the tempe location. It will probably save you time. Here is a second time unsatisfactory experience relating to the staff.
Walked in and went straght to where we would be looking for exactly what we wanted, the disc jockey area, to look at amps. We found what we wanted.
We waited.
We looked at stuff, played with stuff they had out then after a good 15 minutes hunted down an employee. He helped us, but his mannerisms seemed to say “I’ll help you because I’m required to.” The display was the only amp they had of the model. The associate said he would remove it and get it to us. He then went to the other side of the store and talked with the other employees for over 30 minutes. We kindly assumed he was ‘busy’ and played on the pianos while we waited for him to do a very short task of removing a couple screws to sell us an amp.
When we started walking towards him to see what’s taking so long. He walked past us with a bag of screwdrivers to remove the amp. He got it out in less than a couple minutes and had it on the counter. (Side note: no open box discounts could be given and only the power cord was given. The manual couldn’t be found but he noted it can be found online.) He agreed to test the amp since it wasn’t plugged in while on display. While he’s taking his time to prepare the cords to be plugged in, he alerts us that he’s leaving and someone else will ‘take over’.
We wait 6 or 8 minutes and then go get the guy who was supposed to take over while he arranges things at the register. This employee was professional. He addressed the rest of our Guitar Center experience quickly and like he actually cared.
Unfortunately, his good service doesn’t hide his co-worker’s bad service. It should not take an hour to buy an amp we had selected within five minutes of entering the store.
FYI don’t ask the staff any questions, they clearly cannot be bothered. The clerk literally rolled his eyes and started strumming his fingers on the counter top when I asked for help. In the middle of our conversation he started helping someone else. So I just walked away, I guess I’ll order it from Amazon.
9. Brindley’s Music Center
Address: 836 N Arizona Ave, Chandler, AZ 85225 , Mammoth , Arizona , United States
Super friendly folks, take all of my guitars to them and they play like a dream (even if I can’t make them sound like a dream.)
10/10 would come again. Bruce set up my 1987 mij 540r, and I knew he would be the guy because he practically finished my sentence when I was talking about it. He really knows his stuff, plus they have a great selection of instruments and accessories.
It’s always my 1st stop, and they even worked with me on payment plans when I bought more expensive items, giving me an extra month only 20% down instead of 30%
Loved this place! I’ve always driven past this place for almost 10 years and I finally dropped in last month. The selection of instruments was excellent! I came in looking for an acoustic guitar and was met with tons of options. Employees were super nice and helpful.
It was very awesome service but milanos was cheaper books were 8.00 and care kits were10.00 and at brindleys it was almost 16.00 and for book it was 10
They are wonderful people and always take care of their customer by heart.
This place is cool. Ppl are nice. IN THE HOOD IM LIKE PRINCESS DIANNA!!!
-Ice Spice 687:927
I had heard so many good things about this place from other musicians, so my S/O and I decided to try it out. We needed our guitars set up, mine electric, hers acoustic. When we brought the guitars in, we were given a sort of turned up nose treatment when we revealed our guitars. Mine a Purple Paul Reed Smith Custom 24, and hers an older blue Ibanez acoustic. Granted our guitars weren’t the most expensive, but we both loved them dearly (Mine was an anniversary present from her, and hers was her first guitar ever). I explained to the gentleman behind the counter what was going on with my guitar (Dead fret on the high E, also needing a full set up, action lowered, set up with 10’s.). My S/O explained that hers needed a set up as well. We handed over our guitars, and left with confidence.
A few days later we picked our guitars up, and went home to check them out. It. Was. Terrible. They raised the action on my PRS so high that it was almost unplayable, and the gentleman who did the set up said that he did so to get rid of the aforementioned dead fret, even though I gave express permission to do whatever was necessary to solve the issue while keeping the action LOW. That could have meant a level, crown, polish, replacement etc. Anything to keep the action low. My girlfriends acoustic buzzed so terribly on every single fret on the top three strings after we took it in, she has resorted to buying a brand new acoustic, because this place left hers unplayable. Now most people might say ”well if they messed up, take it back and have them fix it” but believe me when I say that when we saw the condition of our instruments, I would NEVER trust them in the hands of this place again. I really wanted to like this place, but after the treatment we and our instruments received, we’ll go elsewhere. Please stay away for your own good.
Sold my 6 month old Guild OM240 cuz I was struggling financially. I paid $425 for it at Bizarre Guitar. Owner tells me there’s major work needing to be done cuz wood was dry and neck was tweaked. He said he’d hafta put in humidifier for couple weeks and he MIGHT be able to repair. He offered me $150. I had to plead with him to give me $160…The very next day he listed it on Offer up for $375. Call it smart business. Call it shrewdness.
I call it dishonesty. Only Guild I could ever afford and I’m humiliated. Regret going here.
Expensive and poor service. took my beautiful holton Bb trumpet their to have the 2nd valve slide replaced. it is a standard mass produced turmpet, ans WAS worth about $650. it was beautiful with a sparkeling finish. they lost my order and it took 3 weeks when I called them to inquire about it. i was told $40 to fix the slide (found out later that part only cost $15) and it would take a week. they chem washed it, wich i said to not do and it RUINED my trumpet. it looks like crap, their is 3 dents in my bell where their weren’t any before and after i called at the 3 week point it still took another 2 for them to get around to fixing it. in the end, they ruined my finish, put the wroung part on, and dented my trumpet multiple times. O AND they expected me to pay $85 for it all. they chem washed it because they forgot to write down the repair needed and assumed it was a was, and they charged me for their mistake. Good at smooth talking but anyone can seem like they know what their saying. they were horrabile and unless you want to over pay and have your instrument ruined, dont go here. o and my sisted paid $1000 for a flute which was “new”…the saudering from when it was returned to them from the last owner broke in about a week and they repaired it wroung 3 times before they got it right where it broke again 3 days later.
10. Central Music
Address: 5038 N Central Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85012 , Mammoth , Arizona , United States
Central Music largely sells sheet music. But they also have a well curated selection of supplies for instruments. My husband loves browsing the sheet music. I love that they have a good selection of my favorite guitar picks. Stop in and give the resident pup Buford, a pet on the head.
Love this place! Been coming here since I was kid. Amazing selection of music, instruments and accessories and the guys are always super helpful. 9/10 I get exactly what I need even if I didn’t know what I needed going in. A Central Phoenix staple!
Got lots of really good help.
Great selection of sheet music
Very nice store that’s been here for a long time. The store is tidy. There’s a small selection of musical instruments and other accessories. My family shops here often and we always feel welcome.
One of the only places you can buy sheet music for most instruments. It’s great. You can sit for hours reviewing music. I always find all types of music here.
CentralMusic purchase policy of NO REFUNDS NO RETURNS: bought a gig bag/very nice. Also bought, and am now stuck with, Kremona KNG classical guitar pickup: rubber on the plug end is brittle/cracking. I tape-wrapped it BECAUSE NO REFUNDS/NO RETURNS. However, I do apologize to you, Central Music, because I should have examined that pickup, should have said “rubber boot has breaks” or something to that effect. But I bought it the day before my wife’s funeral service where I was scheduled to play for a bit. So, I was a little pressed for time, grieving My Beautiful Wife’s passing, not thinking before I posted my comments about Central Music. So, I am sorry if I sounded rude, because that’s not who I am. On the bright side, your shop was open, item was available, product does work, and I wish I could read music better because you have lots of sheet music available and other gear for sale.
No tiene variedad de cuerdas,no ve de guitarras de calidad.
They didn’t help me they said I had to make 4 other drives to get it
11. Zimm’s Guitars
Address: 1305 W Guadalupe Rd Ste E1, Mesa, AZ 85202 , Mammoth , Arizona , United States
Best guitar shop in the valley. Great prices and Zimm is super knowledgeable.
Wow! Great new location. Love how it’s all set up. Much more room than the old shop. If you need guitars or equipment go to Zimm’s. They’ll give you great deals, friendly service and good conversation!
Good selection of guitar effects. Great prices. Friendly service
The owner, Dane is a good friend. In fact we’ve played in a few bands together. Always has something I need or want, always willing to wheel and deal. But it is a business, know and expect like any other business he has overhead. Trust me this guy isn’t trying to make a killing. He’s fair and honest, some times. Takes a loss to help struggling musicians. I’ve bought or traded ALOT of gear with this guy, and will definitely be hanging out from time to time. Maybe doing a few set ups. Or cleaning guitars.
Great place
Excellent small guitar shop one of the best on town
Heard good things about them, but don’t advertise that you are open hours that you are not open, maybe I’ll change my rating for it when I go in there and they’re actually open when they say they are
Showed up right after 5:30pm and they were closed. Hours say open until 6pm.
12. Sam Ash Music Stores
Address: 4402 W Cactus Rd, Glendale, AZ 85304 , Mammoth , Arizona , United States
Sabrina in the band area was extremely friendly and helpful.
OK this visit was amazingly better than the one a few years ago. I walked out with much more than I had intended. What a staff today, and SETH you are the best! Thank you.
First time going into store. Everyone was very helpful and nice. I really enjoyed the interaction and professionalism that the entire staff showed me. I will definitely go back again because of this experience and recommended it to everyone I know.
There are good deals on guitars but you have to be quick they go fast. Sales guys aren’t as douche as guitar center.
Good Quality music store.
I was looking for a digital piano, and I liked the variety of Instruments they had on stock. But I gave a star less because they missed out on the higher end of digital pianos to have the ability to decide if it is worth paying a higher price for an upgraded instrument.
Poor selection of saxophone product’s.
Very little selection… please buy more products to carry in your SUPER STORE
Went in, the guy at reception was pleasant and sent me to the “guitar guy”, I had a bass and a guitar to fix (actually 5 minute jobs top) and was looking for a bit of help.
The guy at the guitar section (had an attitude) tells me there’s a 5 WEEK wait on any repairs. Laughable. I drove down the street to guitar center and had both my instruments fixed in 10 minutes for $15.00.
Save yourself the trouble, “the best in the state” shouldn’t take 5 weeks to work in any job, no matter how big or small it is.
13. Boogie Music
Address: 3562 W Cactus Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85029 , Mammoth , Arizona , United States
I brought my vintage 1980’s Peavy T40, in for my yearly service….40 years late. I thought I should get a new ax, with how badly damaged it is..
The dude behind the counter assured me they could fix it like new.
These guys are awesome, rewired, replaced in/out phase switch, pickup switch. Even fixed the pickup guard and the pickup, which I thought was toast.Set the string clearance better than when I bought.
YOU GUYS ROCK!!!!
P.s.
To the dweebs saying negative things, ask yourself would you lend $1000 to a non serious customer, for 5 minutes. And in today’s society with gun toting wussies, you act like you won’t be apprehensive? The dudes been there for alooong
time for a reason. And was very help explaining why my recordings were sound to muddy/mid range. Owners cool, and staff rocks Boogie Music is the best, better the whorporate box stores.
We frequently visit Boogie Music. We’ve used them to repair a few different instruments for our family, and rent an instrument as well. I’ve also purchased a few instruments and books as well. They’re always very helpful and accommodating. Multiple times have fixed things for free. Provided a free new case for my daughters rented cello-even though it was my daughter’s fault that the zipper broke. All the staff is very knowledgeable about a lot of instruments. We’ve always had good experiences.
Knowledgeable of Taylor Guitars and has repaired several of mine at reasonable prices.
I got my first drum set from Boogie 20 years ago. They’ve been in business a long time! They have competitive pricing and a pretty good selection of great. I would suggest Boogie music over one of the larger chain music stores because of their competitive pricing, in-depth knowledge of their products, and quality customer server.
I just want to give smaller independent shops my business but selection is rather limited here. When I inquired about an item, they actually looked it up on the Sam Ash website and advised they can order it but 1) I’d have to wait until they do their next order, 2) it would cost more than at Sam Ash, Guitar Center, and Amazon and 3) I’d have to pay for shipping. Seriously, if that’s the way you can give me something you don’t have you’ve just GOT to know that’s a crappy deal for me. Just tell me to buy it elsewhere and that you hope you can help me with something else. They can’t seriously expect me to find that even remotely okay can they?
I have been renting a flute from Boogie music for my daughter for 3 years now. DON’T believe the 100% return on all rental fees towards purchase of a new instrument! There are loopholes for them. Not 100% of the fee you pay a month is the rental fee, roughly 2/3 is. They also only will give you this credit if you are purchasing a higher end instrument. I will have to rent a flute from them for 8 years to pay for the 1000 dollar flute they will give me the credit on. They have a much cheaper flute on their websight, but say it is not American made and that one will not count towards the credit.
While they do have repair facilities and will fix anything broken, they have not done any maintenance or cleaning on this flute in 3 years and when asked if they would, I was told bring it in and they will check it out, but no maintenance is needed.
This flute has been fine for her in grade school, but I will need to pay for it almost all the way through high school to get the trade in they will do. Just be careful make sure your child wants to play an instrument forever before getting into the contract if you want to be able to get any trade in credit.
The person at the store followed me around the store the entire time and was super critical on how I played the guitars (which was not abusive or disrespectful). Made me not feel welcome or wanted. I would buy from anywhere else. Wish this was not true, I love little music stores.
First time going to the store and was honestly excited to buy a ukelele and as I walked in me and my friends were rudely approached by a lady who practically shoved us out the door and told us we needed a mask and only one person at a time even though she herself was not wearing one. As I exited I informed her that there was no sigh on the door stating any of this and it would be a good idea to place one up. I walked to my car got my mask and walked back to the store to find it locked I stood outside for a few minutes and was disappointed to not even have an employee tell me to please wait for further assistance. Horrible customer service I totally get what’s going on and I’m happy to wear my mask but please plan your reopening better.
