Great work, knowledgeable, easy to work with, with a quick turnaround. I’ve worked with a lot of guitar repair people in my life and would highly recommend getting work done here.
I recently bought a guitar at a pawn shop and wanted to up grade it. About my experience: 5 stars all the way. Here is why. Initially I contacted this place through email explaining what I would like done with my guitar. I get an email back the next day with all kinds of info about the guitar I bought that I didn’t even know. So I make an appointment. I get there. Angelo was very informative, and super laid back. He even updated me with video footage on the progress of the repairs he was doing. I can’t say enough good things honestly. Really cool dude. The work is a fair price, and the place is conveniently located near me. You will not be disappointed with service.
when restoring, designing,or even an upgrade to guitars or lapsteels….the big instrument is the best….i had my non-pedal steel re-designed,with new electronics….a beautiful blue heavenly finish….p90 pick-up….volume and tone added…new designed legs making it more stable… it came out great….i also had my telecaster upgraded….frets smoothed….it plays so much better….here you will enjoy a friendly atmosphere….with knowledge to spare….thank you to the big instrument…
I love Moondog Music. Mike is the best! The only person he treats unfairly is himself. I can’t get him to charge me enough for his service on my guitars and mandolin.
I have bought and sold here, Mike is a solid dude. Would highly recommend this shop to my friends.
Super nice owner 🙂
Everyone says this place is always closed when they say that they will be open. Well unfortunately that is the reality I too have experienced. Multiple times I’ve tried to visit during posted operating hours but I can never seem to catch the store open. I’ll keep trying though maybe they need some extra help like a part time employee. We need local musical instrument stores or all there’s gonna be is guitar center.
Web site is shady can’t seem to catch opend …..
Stopped by to get a guitar and they are closed. Wish I would have know this, I wouldn’t have drove across town to come here.
I was sent here while on the hunt for a violin and was very excited to see everything from the window. It says its supposed to open at 11 but its 1120, windy, cold, and there is no sign of them opening. Unfortunately due to time constraints I will need to take my business to Guitar Center.
5. Live Entertainment
Address: 6 Navajo Ave, Manitou Springs, CO 80829 , Manitou Springs , Colorado , United States
6. Earth Pig Music
Address: 1953 W Uintah St, Colorado Springs, CO 80904 , Manitou Springs , Colorado , United States
Pretty cool place with good selection, wish I’d listened to one of the records I bought beforehand though as it skips on the first track.
Wendy! This is a great place.
Traveling in a Minibus accross the country I’d wanted to stop in this store after I’d purchased 3 cartons Djarum Blacks next door. Unfortunately a security guard who hadn’t even noticed my bus pull in to begin with was acting a bit of a jerk.
How do I know? When exchanging words he let on that a store had brought my BUS to his attention… while he was sitting in his car. In the rather small parking lot. He hadn’t even noticed.
Well. Anyway. Lost chances. Seems nice from the outside and the name denotes good people.
7. Southwest Silver Company
Address: 952 Manitou Ave, Manitou Springs, CO 80829 , Manitou Springs , Colorado , United States
Love love love this place. Always hear the call from the crystals and never have to worry about spending a fortune on my pretties
Best place! Great selection, amazing prices! Went twice in one day.
EXACTLY what we were looking for a gem shop with reasonable prices and a friendly staff
Great prices on jewlery. Cute shop. The kids working there arent too knowledgeable or excited when it comes to talking about stones and minerals but it’s ok. The tourists like it and I also think its a nice place!
Cool spot
A wide variety but a bit pricey. Standard prices for a tourist town.
This place has a great selection and is ridiculously cheap but the staff is so incredibly rude here I can’t bring myself to spend any more money with them. The girl with the hair that’s always rainbow colors has always been very curt but the last time her answer to my question was so rude I just replaced the items I planned to buy and left. Very sad that one employee can completely ruin a business.
I absolutely would NOT recommend this business to anyone! Unlike other stores who have managed to accommodate customers during covid (ie: social distancing, masks, etc), this business has extremely limited hours and will only allow a shopper at the door, not inside. Their employee was VERY rude to my adult son on Sunday Sept 20th who wanted to purchase a gift for his fiancee. We arrived at the appropriate time per the front door notice, & a younger employee told us ‘you will just have to come back later, no entrance allowed!’. On a busy Sunday when other stores are striving for business (especially during a pandemic), this store seems to be hoping to close down very soon per the way they are treating customers. We will not be back & have told many others the same. Plenty of other nicer rock shops in the area… Don’t bother with this one…
Not a very helpful or friendly staff
8. Music Go Round Colorado Springs
Address: 410 W Fillmore St, Colorado Springs, CO 80907 , Manitou Springs , Colorado , United States
Absolutely phenomenal! This shop has come under new ownership, and he is doing it right! Bigger/more vast inventory. More knowledgeable staff. He even created a 3rd party shop, for the best instrument technician in Colorado Springs! Max will blow you away with his technical prowess! And the shop owner let’s it be possible, with his exclusive inventory!
Music Go Round is a cool place to get second hand gear at an affordable price.
I shop NOWHERE else. they always have my preferred strings by Ernie Ball, GHS and plus whatever else .
I’d like to thank their recently hired worker (also a bassist) who recommended a specific set of flat wound acoustic bass strings by “D’Addario”. the strings have a perfect blend of sustain with the warm balanced tone that I’ve been seeking for years. Definitely satisfied with my purchase.
I greatly appreciate this music store, it’s clean and orderly with a knowledgeable staff and great selection of instruments both “new and experienced” along with anything one might need to achieve the sound they desire. The environment is not “LOUD and OVERWHELMING” like some of the national box stores are. There’s something for almost every musician at Music Go Around. Check them out , you’ll be grateful.
First and foremost they are really cool guys!
They are musicians themselves so they can totally feel your pain when you have to sell a piece of gear that you really don’t want to sell. But sometimes (I know, how dare I “BLASPHEMOUS” but sometimes you just need the car more than that and/or amp
And in my personal experience they pay you very fair prices when buying your gear.
Or, if you have been trying to sell your gear online or In a paper and it’s not moving you can sell it here.
You can also buy some really cool gear here too.
They have used and new items.
Hope this helps.
I
Decent little shop that will generally take care of your basic needs. Don’t expect a giant selection of goods or rarities, but do expect friendly service, and that is worth much more than the value of other similar stores.
Prices can be a little wacky, but the staff is super nice and decently knowledgable. Keep in mind that Guitar Center price matches amazon before coming here. You might get a better deal and it will also be new equipment.
That being said I had a decent experience buying a mic stand for about 3 dollars less than what I would have paid online, and I’ll probably be back next time I want to buy non-electronic hardware.
BTW they do NOT sell cables. Save your time.
This place is a bunch of thieves they prayed on my wife not knowing anything about the special edition bc rich warbeast with the cream finish she brought in that had never even had the case open and only have her 200 for it after works I called multiple other vendors to see if they had just used her inexperience to steal from her and the consensus was that they should have ok the low end paid her 600 these people are scum that prey of those with not alot of knowledge in musical instrument and should be utterly ashamed!
I brought these guys a tube amp to sell to them and the kid checking to see if it works obviously doesn’t know to use music gear. He turned it on and played on it for a few minutes and it worked fine, then he proceeded to hit the power and standby knobs down at the same time and completely broke my amp. Then They offered me $60 for a $700 amp. I refused and when I got home I found that my amp no longer worked and when I called them to tell them the issue the owner refused to admit it was their fault and declined any kind of reimbursement
Took advantage of my wife’s lack of knowledge and sold her an over priced lemon of amp.
9. Meeker Music Inc
Address: 624 N Tejon St, Colorado Springs, CO 80903 , Manitou Springs , Colorado , United States
Fantastic place to rent instruments. We did a rent to own and got a great little clarinet.
Great little shop, but not a whole lot of in store instruments. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Nice staff.
Excellent service
For a music store, not many options for accessories for electric guitars
Less than one star. Don’t waste your time. I went it to buy something, but they didn’t have in stock, but did have it at another local location. The person I spoke to assured me they would have it there by 11 30 the following morning for me.
So I go back at noon the following day and he clerk said “oh I saw it it the box I was supposed to bring, but something happened it’s not in there, I must have taken it out. Didn’t apologise for wasting my time. Did not make arrangements for someone to bring it right then. She then resumed talking to her friend on her cell. I will never shop there again.
They don’t act in the best interest of the instrument or customer. I now have to have the same work redone at another shop.
10. The Leechpit Records and Vintage
Address: 3020 W Colorado Ave, Colorado Springs, CO 80904 , Manitou Springs , Colorado , United States
Great customer service! Great selection of records!
Great place for vintage apparel
I never regret a single second I spend here. The shop owners are very good at making recommendations and I always end up leaving feeling better about myself and my purchases. They’ve definitely helped me grow my music collection and also give me a few statement pieces for my wardrobe and my office. This is the place to be if you just want to be yourself.
Second hand store. Everything is clean and ready to wear or use. Lots of records shoes cloths etc. Not cheap but good.
Almost everything you want if your a vintage person like me. Toys records and clothes everything
Nostalgic!!! This place is of the chart! I could spend all day here.
Some good records here, but before you buy the records, the owner will check the price of the records before he sells them. Literally uncharged a record to me at checkout. Not a good place to buy cheap records. I also tried to buy a record in bad shape for cheap at this place and the owner refused anything below his set price. Found a much better condition record, for much cheaper on eBay.
Great if you wanna pay $70 for a tie dye. And that’s a literal example
What was once a fixture of Colorado Springs in the 1990’s grunge scene has become a highly overpriced Arc with loud music and inconvenient parking access. It’s a cheap knockoff of what it used to be, but with a higher price tag.
11. Oddball Store Music and More
Address: 2413 W Colorado Ave, Colorado Springs, CO 80904 , Manitou Springs , Colorado , United States
Really cool oddity shop full of vintage magazines, clothes, instruments & more. Prices are surprisingly low on most things, the owners are incredibly friendly and entertaining, and every purchase comes with a free gift! A must visit for visitors and locals alike!
Such wonderful staff so darling and sweet i appreciate their service so much 🙂 not only are they such lovely people, but the prices on these antiques are very affordable and i cant wait to come back as soon as i can
Fun store. Lots of interesting stuff.
12. Red Dog Coffee
Address: 739 Manitou Ave, Manitou Springs, CO 80829 , Manitou Springs , Colorado , United States
Forest and the gang make this the friendliest coffee joint in Manitou. Whatever they are being paid isn’t enough.
Outstanding coffee. Staff was super cool and the art was eye-catching. Felt like we were in an episode of Coolest Coffee Shops Ever.
Awesome food and coffee
Coffee house – yummy yummy
Americano was ok. Very cramped.
This place was overpriced and not worth the money. They even forgot to toast one side of my kids sandwich.
Chai latte was very weak
Extremely overpriced for what it is and inconsistent. Last straw was today when I called in for my usual order and got attitude that I was ordering something not on the menu–> it was a bacon, egg and cheese. Unreal. I’ll take my $13 for that stupid bagel sandwich that’s only good half the time elsewhere from now on. The convenience isn’t worth it and they don’t take care of locals. My usual experience is calling ahead and then waiting in a line for 20 minutes to grab my cold food just to pay, because they can’t figure out simple efficiency tactics. Go to La Baguette. Fresh baked croissant sandwiches for less. It’s worth the 5 minute drive.
Slow. Three people behind the counter yet it seemed like no one could greet customers as they came in. We placed our order and observed. It took 14 minutes before they even started to make our cold sandwich as the three employees chatted a bit before getting to work. It was another 6 minutes before we got our food so 20 minutes total from placing order to food on the table. Food was nothing special. A cold sandwich that I could make easily at home. Rather disappointed overall.
13. CK Comics & Collectibles
Address: 719 Manitou Ave, Manitou Springs, CO 80829 , Manitou Springs , Colorado , United States
I love these guys, comic’s always in great condition, great backroom w snacks and drinks, artwork great in there.
This place is a good comic book store and a great contributor to the community. They sell different collectibles and nee and past comics. But they also work with the Manitou library to do events with the kids.
Nice place to search for comics
Whomever was working was very unpleasant. We were not greeted upon entering. After asking a question, inquiring if an item in the store was on sale, and receiving no response, I was slightly peturbed. When I received no response again, after restating my question, in a louder voice, we decided this store did not need our patronage.
Little costly but they got some legit good stuff
Knowledgeable staff
Rude staff.
Place is worn down and dusty. Staff treat you like they couldn’t care less about you. I was trying to find tickets for Saturday of Denver Comic-Con and the staff member on the line treated me like dirt. Do not recommend this trashy place. If you read this review, CK staff, I hope you realize what a crappy business you’re running. I would definitely not recommend this store.
At least acknowledge your customers when they walk in.
14. Vinyl Devotion
Address: 2502 W Colorado Ave, Colorado Springs, CO 80904 , Manitou Springs , Colorado , United States
Had a really pleasant time listening to them perform at Axe and the Oak. They’re great instrumentalists with beautiful voices and just a really good energy.
These guys are a blast! Four distinct vocalists and multi part harmonies. Great upbeat and fun Americana through and through with a solidly diverse repertoire. A must see! They are building a solid following.
16. Mountain West Trading USA

Very cool shop but shirts are expensive. Does a printed shirt really need to be $40?
This owner doesn’t get customer service. We had purchased items the evening before and returned for a shirt my son had to have. His cousin wanted one too. Unfortunately, they only had larger sizes. But did have one smaller shirt in the window. I asked to see it. But was told ‘no, those shirts tend to fade. It is not the store’s policy to sell those shirts’. I asked again if I could just see it, it didn’t look so bad. Besides, kids don’t care. She again said, ‘no, it’s not our policy to sell those shirts’.
When I checked out I told her she had one unhappy customer. I asked her to pass it along to the owner so they could change the policy. She then shocked me by saying she was the owner.
Really?! Upset return customer. Shirt in the window. Upset kids. Wow. And no thank you, no sorry. Nothing. Just ‘I know my store and I won’t sell it’. Good luck staying in business. You’ll need it.
No other way to respond, but there were no apologies given and we were not offered any shipment option. Yes. She could’ve had had a rough day. We all do. But this experience was one of the worst retail experiences I’ve had. And I believe in small businesses.
DONT BUY FROM THIS PLACE…My whole family and I were shopping for souvenirs before we headed home from our family trip, as we were looking around my mother just so happened to find a shirt she liked. It didnt have a price on it so she asked about the price. Even though it was overpriced my mother purchased the shirt anyway and all she said was it was pricey but still purchased it and proceeded to leave the store to wait out for My kids and I to finish looking and purchasing if we chose so. As I was lookingand allowing my kids to look at items i was completey furious and flabergasted as the lady waited for my mother to leave the store…mind u not i look identical dang near to my mother…The lady proceeded while dang near looking right at me while i was looking and had the audacity to proceed by saying to her fellow co-worker…” Dont come in here complaining about a price and you are the one that picked it out and she looks like B××tch that would come back in here and return it later!” It took everything in me to bite my toungue from what i wanted to say and do but I VERY quickly tolds my kids while looking her in the eye ” come on kids we will buy NOTHING here while u want to stand in my face and talk about my mom” and proceeded out the door…I REFUSE TO SUPPORT A BUSINESS THAT TALKS ABOUT THE CUSTOMERS IN SUCH MANNER AFTER SHE JUST SPENT HER HARD EARNED MONEY IN YOUR SHOP…IM GOING TO PRAY FOR HER BUT I WILL NEVER RETURN TO YOUR SHOP AND SHE WAS LUCKY I HAD MY KIDS AND THIS IS NOT MY HOME STATE AND I WASNT THE ONE THAT BOUGHT THE SHIRT CAUSE SHE WOULD HAD A WHOLE NOTHER PROBLEM ON HER HANDS!! I HAVE NEVER HEARD SUCH DISRESPECT AND UN-BUSINESS LIKE CONDUCT!!
HOW DARE YOU TALK ABOUT MY MOTHER IN THIS TONE AND MANNER! GOD IS GOOD AND SO IS KARMA!!
No returns accepted. Very bad policy. My sweater had tags not worn and was a gift for an out of state visitor. She left town and asked me to return for her. Won’t be bringing any more visitors to shop at this store.
17. Kinfolks
Address: 950 Manitou Ave, Manitou Springs, CO 80829 , Manitou Springs , Colorado , United States
Great atmosphere, great music, and great people. Love this place!
Beautiful local gathering bar a lot of nice chill people hippie vibe
Fun place where the locals go!
This is a hometown favorite with local Manitouans.
The musical talent ignored by industry giants in this town is heartbreaking. Coincidentally it makes for great songwriting witch collects here on I believe wed for open mic night.
Stopped by for open mic to support a longtime friend and local musician. I would say I’ve never ran into a more rude staff. They were slow, rude, and not worth even a penny
New management is inept and unattentive, don’t be surprised when they go under in a few months.
Shouldnt be called Kinfolk! Rude service. Only person i have encountered in Manitou Springs that was RUDE!
18. Good Karma Cafe
Address: 110 Cañon Ave, Manitou Springs, CO 80829 , Manitou Springs , Colorado , United States
My husband and I enjoyed a couple of cocktails and good conversation with Ray yesterday afternoon. We felt relaxed and at home in his cafe and look forward to going back when we are in town again.
Delicious!
Great coffee, service, and art. Loved it.
Good coffee, good atmosphere, great staff!
Quaint little coffee shop/deli! The people that work here are amazing and friendly! Coffee is amazing! They support local artists so you can buy paintings!!!
a Manitou stop worth a look. Laid back, casual coffee/beer/eats that is Classic Manitou. Enjoy.
Service was exceedingly slow. Even when we got up to leave, that didn’t signal that they should take care of our bill. Food was ok, but don’t stop here if you have somewhere to get to…
I was so poorly greeted by some old gut leaning on the cou ter that seemed sp inconvenienced by my presence I left and never tried anything. There’s plenty of better cafes in town so skip this one.
The owner was rude to us (mildly) and then yelled at one of his employees in front of everybody. Completely inappropriate. The kind of person I would like to avoid supporting.
19. Manitou Winery
Address: 934 Manitou Ave STE 108, Manitou Springs, CO 80829 , Manitou Springs , Colorado , United States
Excellent house wines. Definitely do a tasting. Highly recommend the dry port.
Really enjoyed tasting the many wine options here for a low price before paying full price of the wine you enjoyed the most.
If you like wine, this is the place to get It!
We took advantage of a groupon to do a tasting. Most of the choices were lackluster at best. The selection also included blends and slushes. We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon because of the patio and the staff, but I would hesitate to call this place a winery.
Excellent wine and service! Cheese platter is a bit over priced for the quality of the cheese. Would definitely return for the wine.
Have stopped here a few times over the years. Always a very good selection of wines. I never leave empty handed. This store has everything from dry to sweet dessert. Chocolate wines, infused wines, and specialty wines that I haven’t found anywhere else.
If your a wine enthusiast this is definitely a place you want to make a stop at. Staff is always super friendly.
This was the worst wine tasting experience that I have ever had. The only reason I am giving 2 stars instead of 1 is that the wine was pretty good. The customer service was extremely poor. The gal that waited on us just left randomly and only actually poured us our first sample. The other guy was trying to make up for it but he had a lot of other customers. We were the girl’s only customers. We honestly could have tried every single wine and just been charged for 3 of them (we did not do this). Nobody was keeping track. We were not talked to by either of the employees the entire time other then to get their attention to pour the next taste. The wine was about $18 a bottle and was pretty decent. They had a few odd flavors such as kiwi/pear, grapefruit, a malbec made with the local spring water, and an almond sparkling wine.
Pro: decent wine with some unique flavors.
Con: horrible customer service.
Went here with my husband and in-laws. Did some tastings and had some ice cream. Ice cream was delicious, one of the wines was cloudy. My husband bought me a chocolate raspberry port wine bottle, he asked the girl at the front for it, put it in a bag and paid for it. When we got home, we saw the label on the bottle, it had nothing to do with the wine we had picked. My husband called them the next day and the girl who answered was super rude to him. My husband went up to the store again since he couldn’t get it resolved over the phone. Same thing when he got there. It turns out all the bottles have a wrong label on them. Rude people and their shady practices makes us not want to go there anymore.
Made a reservation weeks in advance before coming to Colorado for vacation. When I got there I was told there was no reservation in my name. Also agree with comments that they seemed cold and rude.
20. Gigi’s The Animal Lovers’ Gift Shop
Address: 728 Manitou Ave, Manitou Springs, CO 80829 , Manitou Springs , Colorado , United States
Such a fun place with great doggie items (and cats). If I’d had my pooch with me I would have gone wild buying things for her. Loved talking with the sales girl about our dog’s.
My husband and I been coming to Gigi s many years with our 3 dogs we go a least once a month we are treated so good there!!!!
Amazing service and comfortable to talk to.
Ok
Very friendly place.
An animal themed gift shop with pretty much anything gift wise you could think of. Pleasant staff.
Has nothing in stocks that includes birds.
So walked in shop and began looking around. We are traveling in an RV and had seen this shop a couple days ago. My daughter wanted to visit the store and spend her saved money. Her passion is her boxers. Found several things Iwe were gonna buy for her and Father’s Day. All things I have seen in other shops back home, but these would have been tied to our vacay journeys even though none where designed with location markings to identify where we were. Just standard pet owner shirts, signs, and such. Daughter sudden had to go to bathroom. They said they didn’t have one. Daughter says just check out and I will run to Rv which was abounds t 6 blocks away, and we can go after you check out. I then asked the lady if they Had a place we could try shirts on and she said “no, we don’t have a place for people to try on” I asked her if we could try on over our shirt… got no answer so I quickly put everything back in Alpha order like I got them and left with my $150.00 I was fixing to spend.
Called ahead to see if opened and wasn’t. Sad that they missed out on some business from so many
