Mr. Kannon (accompanied by his wife) did a great job tuning our ancient piano. I really felt like he went above and beyond in replacing a number of parts and was very realistic about the results we were going to get.
4. Ron Partain’s World of Music
Address: 1914 Cogswell Ave, Pell City, AL 35125 , Margaret , Alabama , United States
The only place I will go for any musical needs. Friendly and comfortable environment, Great prices, Great service, and they are willing to go above and beyond to take care of customers. It is a small music store without a large selection in stock due to limited space, but don’t let that stop you. They can and will get you anything you need as fast as they can. I highly recommend them.
Love our music store. They
always have what we need.
Great experience every time!
Nice place. Good selection conveniently located.
It’s a standard small music store. There aren’t a lot of new high end instruments here, but they are all very nice folks.
Large selection!! Beautiful instruments!!
I read reviews for this shop and thought it was an honest place to sell my gear. I walked in with an Epiphone AJ 220, with an Epiphone molded hardshell case I bought seperately, and an Epiphone “Snake Pit” 15w practice amp. ALL in like new condition. She plugged the guitar in and it was only the fourth time it had ever been plugged in. I never put the guitar in the case without wiping it down first. Look everything I listed up for yourself, and you’ll see what I lost. I messed up and let the lady know that I was in dire need of money for my family. The old guy asked where I bought it, and when I told him, he said he’d lost alot of business to “places like that”. No. I looked around the shop, and all he had was used gear that had been repaired and put up for sale. Junk. My guitar was the nicest instrument there! The reason he’s losing business is because he’s trying to sell junk and beating people in need out of what their instruments are worth. The lady acted like she was on Pawn Stars! If I hadn’t had needed the money really bad, I would have told her where she could stick her $200! That’s all they gave me for everything I brought in. Look up the items I listed, and you’ll see I did my part to support this business! The reviews I read must have been friends of theirs, because they definately misled me. Not fair at all.
Walked in today to look around and from the moment I walked in the door, the older gentleman (I guess the owner?) had his eye on me and was watching me like a hawk, made me feel unwelcome to be there. He asked if I was looking for anything in particular and when I told him very politely he didn’t have what I was looking for he arrogantly told me “I opened this store in 1973 and everything you see in the store is priced the same as you’d get it online” like ok bud I wasn’t complaining about the price you just don’t have what I was looking for. When I told him I wasn’t looking to buy today, and was just looking around he made a sarcastic comment about “well if you’re not buying, we can just put this back on the shelf” ??? I continued to walk around and look at some more product and he continued to watch me like a hawk until I got in my car and pulled out of the parking spot. All of my musician friends have recommended I don’t frequent this store, and I can honestly say, after that experience, I will not and will tell anyone that asks not to either. Lousy excuse for customer service.
5. Art’s Music Shop, Inc
Address: 4647 US-280, Birmingham, AL 35242 , Margaret , Alabama , United States
I’ve worked with several music stores throughout the state of Alabama- both as a personal musician & as a music director in the schools- & my experience with Art’s Music has been professional, helpful, & quick. Their service is wonderful, & they are knowledgeable in many school band & orchestra areas. I highly recommend using them for your instrument needs.
Nick in the guitar dept is the best around! Knows his stuff and might show you a few tricks!
I’ve used arts throughout school and they are great!
changed to 4 stars because service isn’t as good as it used to be. It is now only ok. Was also very expensive.
Very helpful but the instruments are pretty expensive
I called and they didnt answear
Awful place, horrible customer service, and the insurance isn’t worth a damn! Gadsden Music is way better!
They have good instruments, but when I walked in, I walked straight past about 3 or 4 employees who were unoccupied at the moment and nobody said a word to me. I will never visit or buy from them ever in my life.
This place is a joke. I called and asked about a mellophone and was told that they had several from me to choose from. I get there and they had one that was new and one from the 70’s they tried sell me. I will stay with Bailey Brothers.
6. Brenton Music Studio
Address: 2239 Moody Pkwy, Moody, AL 35004 , Margaret , Alabama , United States
I have been doing business with Mike a long time and my dad before me. Excellent guy!!
Mike is an excellent music teacher. He is an educated instructor with a music degree from Samford. Mike is a very talented musician with over four decades of helping students reach their full potential on their chosen instrument. Try Mikey, you’ll like him!
7. Tree Trap Records
Address: Tree House Studios, Trussville, AL 35173 , Margaret , Alabama , United States
Quaint and friendly, pressure-free local guitar store with plenty of stuff a musician would want.
Awesome experience! Needed new strings on my banjo and they replace it quick!! Will be back again!
This place is great for all your musical needs! Highly suggest them!
Great sales,super repair work!
Friendly staff and good service for a small buisness . your go to place if you dont want to drive a 100 miles to Guitar Center store .
Great local guitar store. Eric does a great job running this store.
I went in yesterday and asked about a Gretch open back banjo on the back wall that didn’t have a price tag. The reply I got from the bearded gent behind the counter was ” I don’t know, probably $300 or something”, and then he walked away like I didn’t exist. The vibe I got from him was “I dont want to help you. I won’t help you”. I buy a LOT of instruments and spend thousands of dollars per year on all sorts of music equipment, but this store has shown me that they don’t want my business and they aren’t interested in having any sort of customer care. I didn’t want to go to Guitar Center anymore, I would like to buy from a local store, but Guitars and More has discouraged me from doing any business with them. My advice to other customers is to go elsewhere. They don’t want your business and they don’t deserve your business.
The people are nice but the stuff you buy here is garbage.
9. Martin’s Music
Address: 5000 US-280 Suite C, Alexander City, AL 35010 , Margaret , Alabama , United States
Great for cheap small items and forgotten groceries you gotta run and grab
Nice folks. Got what I went for. In and out in five minutes.
Great place to shop does have problems
Convenience.
I went to get Dunkin Donut flavored coffee 2 for $10. On sale 3days only. Went on the morning of the first day. The cashier said that they didn’t get any in for the past month.
Don’t like how hard it is to get back into hwy 411 at this location! Traffic is horrible!
Poor customer service
Unprofessional management skills
Just someone off the street to act like a manager. Need to be trained
No room to shop and the associates are so hateful
Too hard to get in and out.
No turn lane….
11. Tweed Music Company
Address: 698 A Commerce Ct, Prattville, AL 36066 , Margaret , Alabama , United States
Super friendly, laid back atmosphere, but he definitely knows guitars. Expert, professional, and approachable; unlike the big chain places that make you feel like an outsider.
Tweed music is stellar! This place is really something special. Matt is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to all things music and the environment itself is very unique and inviting.
Very pleased with a refret job on my 78 Les Paul. reasonable pricing , quick turnaround, she plays like new. I will be a returning customer
Very cool place.
12. Redbox
Address: 120 Council St, Odenville, AL 35120 , Margaret , Alabama , United States
Don’t have to go to the big stores. Have most every thing you need
Very hard to find products I needed .
Seems understaffed but very nice people
Clean, friendly services, I believe help is needed at this location. Other than that, things were great.
I dont appreciate the employee sending a customer to chase my wife and I down accusing her of stealing. We were looking for headphones and in a hurry. Didnt see what we needed and left. Pull up at Bill’s and some other customer is yelling at my wife to return what she stole…I’ve been trying to call and sort this out since we got home. Phones go straight to message saying call again later. March 31st 4:15pm..
Not enough employees on hand and never enough golden flake chips
Hardly ever have what you need and cashier’s are away from register all the time
