it was really great customer service, felt very welcomed
The staff are very personable and attentive.
Great service. Stock items that are difficult to find elsewhere.
So far great!!! I’ll follow up when i Receive my order!!! Thanx
My initial interest in the products and services provided by Bananas At Large began with a need for a unique, specific item that was not included with a recent purchase made elsewhere. I required a particular, yet obscure type of audio cord with special connectors for a pair of headphones. The proprietor at Lavish Showroom on 4th street in Santa Rosa, CA answered my inquiry by telling me that I should try Bananas At Large because they have access to everything in the area of audio electronics. The employees I encountered were very encouraging and helpful, informing me that they no longer stocked the item needed but that they could order and have such arrive in short time. Mr Jackson was especially knowledgeable and ordered what I required with the assurance that as soon as possible he would contact me to inform that the product had arrived. The price was reasonable, the personal care was supreme, and the item provides proper utility. I am pleased with the quality of service I received at Bananas At Large and welcome any opportunity to say so with gratitude and appreciation.
Good Selection, Knowledgeable Staff
The salesman was a pretentious tool.
Put in a order for an item that was supposed to be in stock and was cancelled a few days later after it was discovered that it actually wasn’t. Not even offered an alternative
while the service was nice and merch was amazing, i left feeling fustrated and overwhelmed. the salesman i worked with damaged a $375 pedal by plugging in the wrong cable. pedal worked fine before my visit … in fact before he touched it (while at the store) it worked fine. he gave me a deer in headlights expression when he and i noticed that the pedal no longer worked. literally within10 min. i was testing the strymon big sky and el cap and their power supplies … long story short beware guys.

Address: 3B Rd 3, Sausalito, CA 94965 , Marin City , California , United States
They gave me a cool demo, then let me park for free while I grabbed some lunch. Great people.
Great customer service, quick transaction and install. Chris is really helpful!
Horrible Customer Service from a Snake Oil Salesman. Walked into this store from a referral for a particular home system AMP that I wanted to test out and see other comparable devices. The “home” expert guy that sits upstairs literally wasted 25 mins of my time before finally quoting me a price on the device. Most of the time, he was antagonizing and wouldn’t answer the question. It was very direct, “how much does this amp cost…” Before I quoted the model number, I asked about comparable systems from the same manufacturer. His “quoted” price was $2,000 to $3,000 for what I was looking for, but he would not commit. Once he knew the model number, he refused to tell me the differences for the top of the line cadillac model (which I do not want or need) and the models he had previously stated were $2-$3K. I finally had to walk out, WALK EXACTLY 50 YARDS, to the Audio Vision at 1628 California and actually was provided customer service. Audio Symphony reminds me of those old shady speaker stores on Market Street that sell stolen a/v equipment and Levi’s jeans. Will NEVER try and go here again.
I went in to get a Pioneer 8100NEX installed in my 2011 STi. Do not come here. I did all the research, talked to them, got an estimate. Brought in all the parts needed and showed them what I had, which is what they needed for the install per their own computer system. I come in for pickup after “install” and they made me actually pay WAY more than my estimate. The guy’s reasoning? His partner gave me a “too good of a quote, so we need to make money”. So they not only charged me for phantom parts needed for install, they also significantly increased labor cost!! Second, they damaged the center console (scratched off paint) and when asked about it he said it was always there. LOL yeah, ok, I would’ve noticed because it’s huge and dead center in plain sight. He showed me a picture of it scratched on his phone, and I said yeah but you just took it after you damaged it! Straight up LIED to my face instead of apologizing. The scratch is absolutely from an interior trim puller except they did it on the wrong side of the console. So instead of reading how to pull the center console cosmetic cover off properly, he clearly winged it. Third they half assed the wiring on my rear back up camera. Instead of removing the back seat and carpet /panels, they left the seat in place and snaked the wire from the trunk to the side of the carpet where it meets the door jamb at the rear passenger door. I noticed this when I was starting to clean the car last weekend, and the carpet was pulled up with the wire exposed. So I pulled the panels, seat, and carpet myself and rerouted the cable correctly under the carpet so it didn’t interfere with the panel clips near the door jamb. So once I did that the carpet sit flush no problem. Fourth, instead of wiring the head unit to the parking brake like you’re supposed to they tried to by pass it and I have this stupid switch now coming out of the side of my center console. And they’re bypass doesn’t even WORK LOL, I keep getting a stupid error saying the parking brake is not connected as a reminder because they half assed all of it! I tried really hard to find a reputable car stereo installer in the city, and failed. I should’ve drove the extra hour to a real audio place. I got fooled by their pictures of exotic cars, thinking if they can work on those they can work on mine. Please do not make the same mistake I did. And do not come here!!

I took lessons from Niels for a few years. I can’t say more about his knowledge and care for me as a student. Niels has a gift playing and teaching that translates to a relaxed and completely motivating learning environment.

11. Globe Institute
Address: 110 Caledonia St Ste A, Sausalito, CA 94965 , Marin City , California , United States
Globe Institute is by far the best sound healing center I have known of in Bay Area. The teachers are all REAL expertises and they REALLY love what they are doing. I was bit sad as they moved from SF to Sausalito as SF is closer to me, but this won’t stop me from driving an hour one way each time to have class there. I think Globe Institute is a hidden gem in this area and the class/info they provides are wayyy underestimated…. Until time will prove..
I visited the Globe Sound and Consciousness Institute for a sound healing workshop and open house. Globe Institute is one of those special San Francisco places. The sound healing table was a highlight but really it’s all excellent: the instruments, and of course the sound system. What a treat!
I called with a few preliminary questions because I was set on enrolling in one of the certification programs. I expected to receive a receptionist but I was immediately directed to David, who I know is the head of the Institute. I appreciated that he was able to receive my call but the conversation was met with so much hostility that I could not get off the phone fast enough. I was, I still am, extremely rattled by it. I had already read the website pamphlets extensively, I just wanted some clarification before putting $2000 down. I’m glad I called because the conversation I had was so jarring, I would never want to be around someone who speaks to individuals, perspective students or otherwise, so rudely on the phone.
At one point he said to me, after I repeated something for clarification “Are you deaf!? That’s what I just said!”. This is not even the worst part of the 5 min conversation that transpired. It was so offputting I will be looking for another institute for my certification. In a way, I am grateful David answered and not a receptionist- as he is the primary instructor that one interacts with. I would not have known about this negative vibe unless I had this conversation. I can’t even recall when I have ever been spoken to like that by a person I did not know. I didn’t think asking a few questions was such an inconvenience or a warrant for such hostility.
I’m sure the Institute does not need or want my money- this is just a review to inform perspective students- I recommend you call David yourself and decide if you want to learn from this person before enrolling.
Negligent owner. Basically a glorified and over priced drop shipping company for audio components. Took a week and a half for them to ask for my address after paying almost a thousand dollars. Sent order in three separate packages with no tracking info provided. Sloppy, inconsiderate and genuinely unkind. Never again Globe.
Edit for response: he just drop ships his ‘sound healing’ equipment from Amazon. Get real buddy you over charged for my headphones and all components and it took weeks to get. No wonder you’re under 3 stars.
12. Target
Address: 180 Donahue St, Sausalito, CA 94965 , Marin City , California , United States
Small, which would be fine if the shelves were stocked, but that’s not the case sadly.
Good
This store has the worst employees ask a question and they have no answer not even a clue
For a “new” Target I thought this location was pathetic! Mess all over the place, 2 checklanes, very small selection. Very dirty. Mop floors?
I came to this target today with my clients to grab a few things so my client was very Thirsty and I ask for a cup of ice water at Starbucks Inside target and the girl told me that is 1 Dollar and if I wanted some to it’ll be 200 so Starbucks is charging a dollar to get water smh that’s crazy
13. Player’s Guitars
Address: 840 B St, San Rafael, CA 94901 , Marin City , California , United States
Super friendly, helpful, locally owned, down to earth guitar shop with a beautiful collection of vintage acoustic and electrics. The guys there were knowledgeable and couldn’t have been nicer.
ギター大好きなリペアマンさんが親切に応対してくれます。おいてあるギターも面白い。今度は何か買おう!
Bad business ethics
14. The Magic Flute
Address: 182 Northgate One, San Rafael, CA 94903 , Marin City , California , United States
Very helpful, friendly staff in a legendary music store.
Greatest music store in Marin!!!
Went in looking to get info about guitar lessons. Came out buying a guitar and a few accessories. Mike behind the counter was super helpful and friendly!
Anything I need its there.
This place is great for getting one on one help but I felt like they were trying to sell there services a bit to much, but to be fair they did have a lot of serious that would help people who are just learning
Nice store, instruments and employees
I bought a cello here 12 years ago, wanted to sell it back. Staff was super unhelpful, told me to bring it up and then said the person in charge of consignment was off till Friday, then asked me why I even bothered driving up when I. Very, very dissapointed.
Nice shop but prepared to get stared at like you’re a criminal if you happen to bring kids in that play the kids instruments. Would of bought a new guitar for my son but the laser stare by multiple employees made me and my kids too uncomfortable so we just left. Also, pretty overpriced. Like the name though.
Saturday 1:30 PM, Incredibly rude salesman in the saxophone department. I’ve Purchased an Alto Saxophone, two high end Ukuleles, many accessories, and dozens of music books from them in the past. I’ll be taking future business including musical instrument purchases to the web from now on.
