Owner is a straight up cool mofo. Super nice guy that will help you out and not try to oversell something you don’t need.
Just amazing! Woow
This is such a wonderful place. Got a truly beautiful ukulele, hes knowledge was so helpful. Am truly happy. Thank you again
Worst customer service ever. The man working there couldn’t even bring his head up off his iPad to acknowledge our presence. Too bad too because I was ready to buy a ukulele.
4. Lāhainā Custom guitars & repairs
Address: 808 Waine’e St # 101, Lahaina, HI 96761 , Maui County , Hawaii , United States
Avi did a modification on my guitar that took about 45 min, for my previous luthier it would have been 2 weeks.
I’m reviewing this from my son’s perspective. He has a guitar that was damaged during the trip from the mainland to Maui, he had a soft case for his guitar. The repair was done quickly and he’s very satisfied with the work done. He mentioned that now he has a guitar guy in Maui.
All can say as a local born and raised
On, who loves music; just go see Avi
At Lahaina custom guitars and you won’t
Be disappointed; godbless and aloha
Golden Voice:

5. Bounty Music
Address: 111 Hana Hwy #105, Kahului, HI 96732 , Maui County , Hawaii , United States
I have been renting a guitar from Bounty Music for the past four years. Although living on Oahu I prefer not to drag my guitar to Mau and it’s a pleasure knowing that I have a great rental store that carries superb instruments. The rental price is always lower then competitive stores. This time I rented a guitar that I loved so much I had to BUY it. The staff at Bounty worked out a great price for the guitar, awesome case and shipping to Oahu. What more can you want.
I went to the MAUI MUSIC STORE and today was my first purchase in this Store! Absolutely 100% service and friendly service! I got my first Hawaiian print baby soprano ukulele carrier and tuner!!! It’s located in Kahului Maui♥️♥️♥️
Wonderfully helpful staff! Great place!
Great selection of ukuleles and guitars. They also have a few keyboards. They had very few mandolin, violins, and other instruments. They had all types of ukulele, for kids, beginners, and high end instruments.
Had an awesome experience and made a nice purchase to bring back to the Mainland. Yeah…I could have purchased here in California but I believe in the local Maui economy and small businesses. (Even though the State government is screwing over the real residents)
Aloha and thank you.
Small selection of instruments, but the people who work there are really nice. The more you come in the more they’ll work with you. It’s nice to have a music store on Maui.
You find Aloha inside the people at Bounty Music.
Hey Beware,
I’m sorry but I’ve had a couple of rough experiences at bounty. I wanted to buy an artist series Stratocaster. I explained that I had looked online and was wondering if they could match the price or come close? I was told…
“If you can find it online you should just order it there, it’s easier.” I did explain that I like to support local businesses … but the sales guy was less than interested, and he just ended the conversation by walking away . Boy did I feel naive! I will say that I went online and ordered a nice guitar with free shipping and it was at my door in no time. I’ve since ordered an amp and two more guitars… all online without talking to Bounty. I have to confess that all experiences were “easier” than dealing with Bounty.
I just got off the phone with them and again I can’t believe the attitude. I explained that I was going to ship some guitars to the mainland, and did they have any guitar boxes that they were going to recycle or throw away? If so I would like to reuse them…you know go “green”. I’m not planing to ship for a couple of months.
“no” we don’t have any of those boxes…I was told, but we will sell you a Taylor box for 20$. They hung up on me before I could explain that I can get a bundle of 5 boxes for 8$ (online) with free shipping, so 20$ for 1 box is … well typical Bounty. I’m not really sure what the bad attitude is at Bounty? It is true that you can buy online for quite a bit cheaper than what Bounty offers on almost every single item they carry (this includes shipping costs).
Honestly Bounty seems disinterested and even lazy sometimes. I still go in and look every once in a while, but I don’t feel compelled to spend my money there.
1 star because, really it’s not worth the head ache to drive into town to put up with bad attitude!
I’ll give another star because a couple of the staff members are very nice… so it’s not a total waste of time…
I recommend that you do what I do which is… I just sit at my computer with a hot cup of coffee and shop away.. (go Prime!).
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!
Horrible service, incompetent tech can never repair instruments never demonstrate a true sincere desire to help toxic place not a true music store what a shame!! don’t go there!
Great place to buy your ukulele. Very knowledgeable folks work here and enjoy talking to their customers. Very willing to help and make sure you get just what you need.
I was driving to get lunch during my trip last December when I saw a “Ukelele” sign and knew I had to turn around (when in Rome). I play a little guitar but have never played the ukelele before. The store is a bit hard to get to, I had to do several U-turns but it was def worth the hassle! Local musician Arlie (Avery Asiu) happened to be working that day and he’s fantastic. I ended up staying there a couple hours, trying virtually every ukelele in the store while learning the backstory of each line, a bit of uke history, and Arlie’s life as a musician in the process. They’re so beautiful and sound amazing, especially the handmade/custom ones! After falling in love with the instrument, I purchased one of the beginner ukes with a built-in tuner/pick up and a cute case to go with it and scheduled a lesson with Arlie. Best decision ever! Took it with me to the beach. I even brought my uke with me to Aruba this past month. If you’re visiting Maui, you must stop at Mele.
Fun, as always.
Loved hearing Koa test out an awesome tenor ukulele from here.
Very nice music store.
I was excited to buy a nice ukulele for once. I spent $400 thinking the ukulele I bought would be great. The same day I bought it, without any chance to play, the peg broke. I asked if it could get it fixed by the time my flight left, and they did. When I went to pick it up they made me wait a half hour even though my ukulele was sitting right there. I asked if there was any way I could either get my money back, get a new ukulele, or if they could check to see that none of the other pegs would break. I’m writing this because they responded with oh no you’re peg won’t break again, that’s super rare. But Im back home now and just had a second peg break, different peg from the first one that broke. I am a very kind and patient person but I do not appreciate this kind of service and I hope there is some way they can reconcile for an absurd amount of money paid for a low quality instrument.

Two of the greatest gifts I have ever given my wife!
1. A ukulele
2. Lessons from Reuben at Maui Music Mission!
It has enhanced and changed both of our lives! We have magic moments of our time on Maui and the joy of music that fills our hearts and souls with ALOHA!! The amount of pride that we share is incredible!!
Many mahalos!!
I was home visiting Maui for a few weeks and was walking through Lahaina Center. Then I heard some ukulele chords being played. I followed my ears and saw some beautiful instruments in the wall through an open door. I walked in and heard Reuben sharing knowledge and teaching a little boy some chords and giving him encouragement to keep practicing. It reminded me so of when I was a keiki and mom was teaching me ukulele and we would play together and sing every Friday night. Long story short- I ended up buying an awesome Amahi travel ukulele from Reuben. His aloha spirit and positive energy are infectious and he cares about what he does and it shows. So keep up the good work Uncle Reuben- I appreciate you and what you do.
Maui Music Mission is positively impacting the lives of children, youth and adults! Ruben Pali and his team of professional musicians are leading the way towards raising the consciousness both in life-skills and musical expression for the youth involved in the after school program. As an adult student, I am learning to express myself musically and am privileged to witness the joy, dedication and professionalism of Maui Music Mission. I highly encourage you to join their program and experience this opportunity for yourself!
13. Request Music
Address: 10 N Market St, Wailuku, HI 96793 , Maui County , Hawaii , United States
The customer service I received was undeniably top notch. Paul was able to answer all my questions promptly and put me at ease with my ukulele purchase. Even after the transaction was completed, the customer service I received when I had a little issue with getting my delivery from FedEx just exemplifies the high quality level of service they provide. Thank you again so much!!!
Bounty Music & Ukes .com did an amazing job with my order. They were responsive, quick and they got the order right! I’d recommend Bounty Music on-line & will use them again and again.
Great service and fast shipping.
15. The Musical Mailman
Address: 928 Upalu St, Wailuku, HI 96793 , Maui County , Hawaii , United States
On our recent return to Maui, my wife & I rented a violin and guitar from Roy the Musical Mailman to use for a week. Roy was very clear in his rental terms, the process was easy, the price was very fair and the instruments and cases were in great condition. I especially loved the older violin I rented, and my wife felt the same way about the guitar. The violin had a beautiful mellow tone, and came with all accessories needed, including a wooden and a carbon fiber bow. If we need to rent instruments on Maui again, I will definitely contact Roy. Mahalo Roy, and thanks also for the work you’re doing bringing stringed instrument instruction to the children of Maui!
I’ve known Roy for several years, and worked with him both as an educator and a performer. As a teacher, he is patient, encouraging, and so creative! He always seeks out interesting and engaging repertoire for his students, and it’s always clear that they’re having a great time while growing as musicians. He also performed with my choirs as a cello soloist several times. He is an outstanding performer, always professional and well-prepared, and just a wonderful person to work with.
