3. Epperson Music
Address: 301 N Main St Suite D, Fort Bragg, CA 95437 , Mendocino County , California , United States
Epperson Music is Rad! I found my favorite ukulele yet! It is a beautiful acoustic/electric. Cory is also such a kind and chill person. Very helpful. Reasonable prices. Check it out!
Great tuners! Bought 2.
Fantastic owner and great business! I was looking into buying a guitar there but didn’t like the way it played so he lowered the action, oiled the frets and replaced the strings for me! I came in the next day and it played so much better and smoother so I bought it!
4. Music Merchant
Address: 337 N Franklin St, Fort Bragg, CA 95437 , Mendocino County , California , United States
Located in downtown Fort Bragg, CA, Music Merchant is a place to browse CDs, test quality guitars, and shop for musical accessories. It also doubles as the town’s local game store, offering a wide range of Magic the Gathering and Warhammer products. The owner is kind, courteous, and knowledgeable, and always takes the time to help customers find exactly what they’re looking for. The shop first opened its doors in the mid 90s, and over the years has become a hallmark of the Mendocino coast.
Its the guitar collection and pricing that rocks
Awesome place!
Not only a variety of old-school CDs, but a fair range of instruments here for the aspiring musician. A surprisingly versatile array of gaming equipment and collectibles. The dude who runs the business is knowledgeable and friendly. Worth a visit!
Good place in Fort Bragg for Musicians to buy parts and musical instruments, Brian is a good clerk, Nice place!
Great place for MTG as well as string in instruments, CDs, etc. Very friendly and helpful.
For a shop advertised as a music store, they only had about 10 guitars and they didnt want you to touch them or play them. They had tooooooons of war hammer and dnd stuff though so if you’re a nerd then you’re set. Very unwelcoming environment honestly, it was awkward and quiet and kinda cluttered and nothing seemed organized.
5. Slugmiester Bass&Guitar
Address: 19425 Benson Ln, Fort Bragg, CA 95437 , Mendocino County , California , United States
We are fortunate to have a true craftsman in town. Mike can set-up, build or repair most any guitar or stringed instrument. He’ll honestly tell you if it’s worth the expense to fix and is very fair and reasonable in what he charges. Saved me several times and turns stuff around really quickly. Excellent musician. Good guy.
I had a great experience dealing with Mike, the owner. He was friendly, very knowledgeable, and managed to repair my guitar while I waited. Not pushy at all, in my opinion; just willing to share his expertise on a subject in which he happens to be a professional; stringed instruments. I recommend giving Hobo Guitars a try!
I read the reviews before I moved to Ukiah, weighing whether to take a new guitar back to Guitar Center in Vegas for a half-assed setup or wait for a small town shop in my new location. I’m glad I waited. Mike was exceptional. He did top notch service on my new Ibanez Premium. It seriously plays effortlessly. He dressed the fret ends, made truss rod adjustments, and fully intonated this beast and it surpassed every expectation. Not only that, he resolved factory QC issues that should have been done before it shipped involving the string locks.
If you’re expecting a smiley sales guy who will blow smoke up your rear to sell you a junk guitar, Mike’s probably not going to be your cup of tea. However, he’s a legitimate guitar player and luthier that knows his trade and does the work quickly and efficiently for a superb price.
I’ve heard through ibanez fan sites I should have expected up to $200 for the services performed. He did it for $100, with new strings, in an afternoon and gave me same day pickup. The man will have all of my business from here out.
Chill local guitar shop. Helpful and knowledgeable, I’ll be back.
The prices of his items are overpriced when I can get everything he sells for cheaper on Amazon. He also low balls customers if you want to sell him your guitar. If I were you, I would just go to another shop.
The owner is rude, and the merchandise is overpriced. $70 for a set of bass strings, got the exact same set for half that online. I wouldn’t recommend visiting, you’re better off finding a different store
10. Goodall Guitars
Address: 541 S Franklin St, Fort Bragg, CA 95437 , Mendocino County , California , United States
Polite and courteous service. I would highly recommend this shop for guitar fixes and other musical needs.
Very good
These are among the finest guitars made on the planet. I own two a Koa Grand Concert and a Rosewood Jumbo Cutaway. They speak to you in a way no other instrument can. James Goodall is one of most nicest people around.

This place has great service, and awesome gear. It more of a modification shop which is perfect for me since I’m trying to achieve my own sound, but they have awesome amps and guitars from time to time it just a matter of stopping by and checking it out.
