Tiny shop…Big on service….we’ve used Jake’s for general maintenance and repairs( emergency or not)..on our flute for years. Always able to help, and give truthful advice. Highly recommend..
I also believe they give lessons too…
Thanks Jake!!!
The best on the south side for lessons, instrument purchases, and repair. Friendly and professional service. Great music shops are becoming hard to find. Love it
Excellent work and friendly people
Great neighborhood repair shop.
Very nice, good pricing and repairs done in a very timely fashion.
I went in to get repairs on my son’s saxophone. Jake was a nice guy, I thought the repairs were expensive.
I’M ADDING THIS FOR THE STORE TO RESPOND: THERE’S NO INDICATION THAT HOURS ARE “BY APPOINTMENT ONLY” UNTIL YOU DRIVE ACROSS TOWN. PLEASE FIX THIS. THANK YOU
Never got a call back. Guess they don’t want my money for repairing a clarinet v
Excellent place with mountains of choices to look at!
You can easily get lost in this place for hours! The volume of records is CRAZY and I didn’t even know the back portion was open to customers. I have to go with a specific goal in mind or I’d blow my budget for sure.
Amazingly organized for such a small space with SO MANY records. Also have some 8-tracks and movies, but the vast majority vinyls. 45’s and albums.
Big shop and a lot of records, really one of the old style big stores, sorted but still a lot of randomness. I only had an hour or so but it was difficult to decide where to start. This is a selling store, not a displaying store. Give yourself enough time for a dig and you will turn up something. The thrill of the vinyl hunt is here and there are bargains to be found, the prices will be reasonable. Didn’t seem to be a lot of top condition stuff around but if you play your records rather than look at them you’ll be fine. Did I mention the thousands of 45s they have here? Someday I’ll be back …
For the common civilian, it looks like a hell hole. but the deeper you dig, the more treasures you will find.
Nice selection
They only have old records at this establishment.
We were on the fence about going, but decided to anyways. There are tons of records. Like TONS… but in extremely poor condition. Ripped covers, scratched vinyl, and even records with no covers at all. There were some newer boxes that seemed to be in better condition. We browsed around but didn’t see anything worth buying.
Tried to offer me $10 for over100 records lying saying they had mold I took them down the street to his competitor and got over $300

Huge fan of this place. I’ve never personally sold anything but I have purchased a few things at great prices. Their inventory is extensive and constantly changing. I’ve bought electronics, jewelry, purses, tools and a few other items. The staff was helpful and friendly. I’ve dealt with Alex and Jesus. I was always greeted and thanked every-time I went. Definitely recommend stopping by.
I’ve been coming here for loans 3 times over the years. I tried to go to another place in Cal Park but I left and came back here. They always ask me how much I’m looking for and, within reason, they give me what I want. Management is SUPER COOL and almost all of the reps are too! I don’t go anywhere else! Thanks guys ✌
When in for a loan the staff is very Professional. Thank you Cheryl for your help you went above and beyond in assisting me great personality and always willing to assist will return to do business.
they give u extra time on late loans
Overall the experience went well. The employees move slow but get the job done
It’s a clean place with a pretty good variety of items for sale. The prices they give are the same as other places. However, their resale prices seemed kind of high.
Worst place ever. I purchased a computer for my daughter that was going away to college i told the salesman that i needed something that had certain specs that would last her throughout the time she’s in college and told him i wanted whatever warranty they had. He suggested using her Id since she would be the one taking It out of town with her. I purchased the toshiba laptop for $300 It shut down 2 weeks later and never came back on. A week later when my daughter came home in break I took the computer back to the store where i was informed i was never charged for the warranty so i was basically out of my money. The manager on duty helped me find another computer and gave me a discount on It, but when i got this one home again It wasn’t any good and the Window’s certificate hadn’t been activated and would cost me even more money. I returned to the store today and the manager on duty was horrible. I walked out the store with my money from the second computer minus the money i paid for a warranty that i had purchased less than 24business hours before and minus the initial 300 i spent. I’ve learned my lesson and will never shop there again and will never purchase any electronics especially a computer from a pawn shop again. Signed a very pissed dad.
They use your stuff. I sent my headphones in to apple for technical issue and the sent me a new pair. I needed cash. So a day later after receiving them back , I took them to cash America. Today I pick them up, there ear wax in and on them and hair that’s not mines. And years ago I had a tablet in there. Picked it up and wouldn’t turn on and screen cracked . Check your item before you leave if you go here. But the one in calumet city, is totally better!!!!!
seriously the worst place ive been too, they said they arent taking speakers but the guy before me is standing there with 2 sets of subs and amp…..they are a joke to turn me down when i did nothing wrong. all i was doing was trying to sell stuff to pay bills, i didnt deserve the way i was treated
10. O’Malley Brass Instruments
Address: 3004 W 111th St, Chicago, IL 60655 , Merrionette Park , Illinois , United States
Miles was excellent! His repair service and communication were both top notch. I was in town for a gig, in need of an emergency repair, and he was able to help me out in a pinch. I highly recommend contacting him with any repair needs.
I shop here frequently. The service and prices beat out anywhere else in the area. They have been around for decades with good reason.
Great prices and excellent staff.
Good smokes. I have good lottery luck here. Friendly employees. Good selection.
Every time I come I always get good customer service. Thank you Sam and the other employees
Very helpful
Bought a 100$ vape from this place. Been back 3 times and they couldnt show me how to use it. I said the 2nd time I wanted to return and he said ok. Return following day and same guy says F** you B*** No Returns. Don’t buy anything from this shady place
I was at this shop about four years ago and it was a very pleasant experience. Went today Aug 29th and very disappointed with what the clerk did. I brought my items to the furthest south cash register where he was standing . He took my card and went to the register closest to the door and proceeded to come back towards me once the transaction was finished. Ok alls good but then when I asked about my card this man pointed to the counter that was closest to where he had done the transaction of my card. So to sum it up my card was North while I’m waiting for him South where we first connected. How dare him to treat a customer like this and I said I didn’t give it to you down here . He didn’t reply. Very rude person .
Never went there.

It’s always good dealing with Mike who is one of the managers there at the O’Reilly’s at the Merionette Park location. He is tops with me very knowledgeable in his line of work friendly and very professional and extremely Knowledgeable he knows his job he’s worth his weight in gold there’s no one better than him. Plus he’s a fellow Gearhead and he gets it…. He is top-shelf with me.
Was shopping at the jewel next door and was filling my trunk with groceries and went to close it and wouldn’t shut went to O’Reilly’s and explained my problem staff was very nice and willing to help even came out and helped me fix it thank you casey
good place
Knowledgeable Peoples
Manager was polite curious and very helpful. Store was actually very clean and bright
Also a wonderful place
They really suck
I came there to get my battery checked and asked the gentleman at the front if he could assist me and taking the battery out he had no knowledge whatsoever on the processes and then argued with me on the amount the bolts needed to be tightened because he left them loose and I caught that he left them loose absolutely appalled please hire people that know what they’re doing and also he said that you guys didn’t have any tools to change the battery which was hilarious
Would rather take a personal phone call than help a customer I will be going to auto zone from now on
14. Rossi Music Store & Lessons
Address: 4901 95th St, Oak Lawn, IL 60453 , Merrionette Park , Illinois , United States
Pretty cool store. I get my pedals and strings from here! Support your local businesses!! Also, they’re really cool people who work there!
I started taking guitar lessons with Joe at Rossi just before Christmas and I have to say that my experience has been awesome! I’m an adult who is new to guitar and Joe was super cool about the fact that I would be a slow learner and he was super happy to accommodate my slow progression because of a lack of practice between classes (I work about 70 hours a week most weeks and don’t have a massive amount of time for practice).
Their instruments and accessories are priced competitively compared to anyone else in the area and Joe’s wife and Larry (the two people who usually work the counter) are very pleasant and make it apparent that they appreciate having your business.
If I could give more than 5 stars I would definitely give them more. I highly recommend Rossi Music for anyone who is considering learning an instrument as either an adult or for the younger crowd.
Great teachers who pleasantly teach almost any instrument by sight reading or ear. at reasonable prices! Full service Music store sells & teaches most instruments, band, wind, percussion string, violin, mandolin, guitar, ukulele, piano, sells parts, sheet music and fixes instruments, too! Great people to do business with. Both of my daughters there for 5+ years! Results are very good!
I visited this place for sheet music. The songs I wanted were found online and promptly printed for my purchase.
SUZAN M.O’Rourke wrote on 1/19/2019 I visited Rossi’s in the Fall of 2018 and looked at a variety of instruments but seems to have a shared phone number with Little Company of Mary Hospital aproximately 1 or 1.5 miles east on 95th street. Unfortunate use of a beautifil web site The store offers sheet music and new snd used rental /purchase of instruments.
Bad customer service, dude with long hair gave me attitude and had a overall bad vibe
My son was taking lessons and love it! I paid for his classes in advance and was told that I didn’t and was expected to repay for my son to continue lessons. Advice if you decide to use their service take your own calender and make sure a teacher sign off the day he gave lessons. This will help you keep up for when the teacher cancels for the days you paid for.
This place claims to offer guitar repairs. So i brought in a Gibson LP Custom that simply needed to be re-wired. The pickups were already installed all that was needed was to wire it up and solder it all together. A nice clean pallet to work with.
3 weeks in, I call and was told, We are waiting on parts! Ok? So i decided to buy a wiring kit offline for 100.00 and drop it off. Took me 1 day to get the parts, Took them 3 weeks and they were still waiting for wires and volume pots? Really?
So they had all brand new parts, wires, etc that i purchased myself. Once again, A nice clean slate to work with, Everything was brand new and clean, So wiring and soldering should have went smooth and looked good.
Another week later, I call and ask if its ready, Yeah! Come get it! So i guess they dont call people when instruments are ready for pickup?
I pick it up and bring it home, Plug it in and hear the worst noise ever.. The output of the pickups was all wrong. I have never heard a guitar sound this bad. I look inside and was shocked at the job!! Wires twisted together just hanging there. Soldering burnt thru the brand new pots! This was HORRIBLE!
I call him about it and he said, Oh well i plugged it in and the pickups had sound? Your kidding me right?
I could have brought it back for him to “fix” but after looking at what he did to a brand new wiring kit, Its best to keep guitars far far away from this guy. PLEASE if you have a guitar that is halfway decent and needs a setup, pickup swap or anything that requires a brain, Please take it elsewhere! This place is far from professional.
My daughters have taken piano lessons with Harvest Music Studio this past year and they both learned so much! They enjoyed their lessons and looked forward to piano time. The teacher was open to help them learn to play songs they liked from movies they have watched and they were so happy to sing along or show friends and family members when they learned the pieces in the piano. This is dedicated, talented, and very patient piano instruction and I totally recommend it!
We definitely recommend this place.
Our son has been taking piano lessons for the past few months through Zoom class, and we are more than happy with Mr. Michael’s level of knowledge and professionalism.
Our son has already learned a lot and is always looking forward to his class.

I loved shopping here especially when they run a good sale
Great store with great employees. High prices.
First visit was wonderful. Has a Starbucks, staff was very pleasant. This will be our new grocery store since Ultra left this area.
Great selection of ice cream for those lonely nights.
Today a woman at the deli wearing a red hat had by far the worst attitude I’ve dealt with. Rolling her eyes at me when I asked a simple question. And when I decided not to pay 11.99/Lbs for deli meat she rolls her eyes again and walked away from me as she laughs to herself. Coming to this jewel I received rude attitudes from a specific cashier before and I brushed it off. It’s really annoying having to deal with this when I come to this location. Lets get it together.
The deli and it’s workers are slow, ignorant and incompetent. Dirty work area, out of everything, I’m done with this dump!
deli and produce staff great but rudest front end, and slowest checkers of any store in the area

Ms. Hill is an amazing teacher. As a senior citizen, taking on new challenges can be daunting. However, Ms. Hill has the unique ability to relate to how you learn, and capitalize on that. She will start where you are in order to take you where you want to go!
I began my journey at the Music Scene as a voice student. I’ve since added piano, which I’d never played before. The Music Scene has opened new doors, and I am so enjoying this journey with Anisha Hill as the leader.
Excited about the upcoming event this Saturday! Looking forward to seeing everyone perform!!
For as long as I can remember, it has always been my lifelong dream to play the piano. After retirement, I set out to follow my dream and was Blessed to meet an amazing music teacher who is the founder and owner of The Music Scene, Mrs. Anisha Hill. Her professionalism and patience for us seniors are absolutely stunning. Taking piano lessons at The Music Scene has been such an awarding experience. No longer do I watch others play the piano and wish I could play. I am now reading and playing music on my favorite instrument, the piano at my favorite place, The Music Scene under my favorite teacher, Mrs. Anisha Hill. This is the place to be! Five stars all the way!!!
20. Midlothian Music
Address: 15645 S 94th Ave, Orland Park, IL 60462 , Merrionette Park , Illinois , United States
i highly recommend this store . have been going there since 2003 . i have bought several guitars and amps along with other accesories etc. . i do not see why anyone would go anywhere else. the prices they charge for everything are so low for everything that you get . the inventory of instruments is astonishing for a store that size. if you want to deal with an honest business for all your music needs go there.
Brought in a finicky Martin guitar that had dried and was frustrating to play. John and Dan restored the guitar in a way I did not think possible. We could not be more pleased. Excellent and very professional job. Thx cp
Another flawless purchase. The atmosphere at this shop is just amazing. Had to come in and grab one of the new esp ltd. Supporting local businesses that support law enforcement and military is amazing. This is a one stop shop for all your musical needs. Can’t wait to see what I end up buying from them next.
I love all the products but at times the service was bad, other visits there were good service. Thanks!
I asked for an estimate to repair a leak on my daughter’s flute. With no parts needed, they wanted $40. I declined their service and the man on the phone hung up on me. When I picked up the flute, somehow additional keys were bent and leaking. Ridiculous!
Tried calling about some ukulele strings and the phone guy was so rude. Never has a music store been so uncouth. Shame on this store.
Stopped in to inquire about purchasing a used guitar and was treated rudely. I won’t be returning.
I wasn’t going to post these details but since they replied with incorrect information, perhaps confusing me with another customer.
When I responded that I wanted to spend $100 (not $75) the person behind the counter told me I needed to go to Toys R Us, did not offer me options or ask me any questions. THAT is why I walked out. I gave my $200 to Evolution Music. Their customer service is outstanding.
