You won’t find better people, and no one can beat their personable service
I always like to see Greg and the others and continue shopping there for my music needs
Quattlebaum Music Center in Searcy, AR, has friendly, knowledgeable staff working there. If they don’t know something about a feature on the instrument, they will do all they can to find the solution. We had a great experience while there buying the right keyboard for our church. Great Christian environment. You will leave satisfied. Thank you to all the staff for your help!
Great hometown music store! Great selection of both new and classic electric guitars serviced by a wonderful, friendly staff. Family owned for decades!
Good people. Good service.
Nice friendly staff
Very rude to my wife and all she did was ask a queston please don’t do business with these people we don’t need rude people in this town.
They are selling stolen property.
I’ve purchased things from here before, but today, I felt as though my business was not wanted. I took a violin in due to having issues tuning it and the bridge popping off. Was told what I need to do. Told them thank you and asked my daughter if she wanted to look around. Was told to have a nice day. Was not asked if I needed help with anything else. Employee just walked away
3. Independent Music Services Inc
Address: 9851 Brockington Rd #6, Sherwood, AR 72120 , Monroe County , Arkansas , United States
I told them “I have a Gig tonight.” And they replaced the Neck Cork on my horn within an hour. I am Very Impressed with Independent Music. They NEVER Fail to get the job done in a timely Manners. And, “YES” I Will Return For Any Future Needs such as Overhauling my YAS 21 Sax.
Very helpful, very professional.
Did excellent work on my old trombone, very nice people!
Very helpful and informative
I came in with a horn to have repairs done to it. I needed to have my saxophone’s neck recorked. I needed additional repairs, but above all needed the recorking. The repairman came up, looked at the instrument brand and said he could do nothing for me because if he broke something, he would have to make a part. I thanked him and walked out. I thought by the ratings that this would be a location with skilled craftsmen, but instead feel like it’s people prone to mistakes so they can only work on standard brands and not all instruments. I’d consider calling before coming. They are the only place around for quite a distance and driving over 60 miles to be treated like this felt very awful!
4. Goosenest Studio
Address: 315 S Adams St, DeWitt, AR 72042 , Monroe County , Arkansas , United States
I’ve worked with Goose on a few films. The man knows what he is doing when it comes to music and he’s willing to work with you in terms of cost and the music pieces themselves. He’s very professional which is about what you expect from an honest business man.
5. Palmer Music Company
Address: 1131 Front St, Conway, AR 72032 , Monroe County , Arkansas , United States
Every guitar in this place is set up correctly. Even the cheap <$200 student imports.
My son took lessons here for beginning guitar, and it was such a great experience for him. I was really impressed with his teacher, Logan. Logan always took time to work with my son and was so encouraging. We had to move from the area, so I hope we can find another place as great at Palmer Music! I also bought an awesome guitar from here, and the price was great.
Definitely the best place to find your music needs in Conway! And if you need drum work of any kind look for Bear he’s your guy.
My guitar was in for repairs for about 4 months. Almost no communication was provided about status of the repair work. It’s understandable with Covid making it difficult to have parts shipped, but the lack of adequate communication was uncomfortably disappointing. I don’t blame the young individual who was working on my guitar, but rather leadership who should have provided direction on appropriate and timely customer service communication. It doesn’t matter to me that it would have taken considerable time for repairs. But the lack of communication stating that due to a backlog in parts, and it was just a waiting game, would have been enough. A 30 second phone call every couple of weeks or so to advise a customer that no progress has been made is better than nothing…it would have been enough to have left my guitar there for months longer. The ironic thing about all this is that I really like the store and the people at Palmer Music, so I will most likely continue to purchase my music supplies from them and I hope my experience there was a one-off….
Usually busy because they’re good at what they do!
Talked to Joey in the store today. He took some time to help me plan for an upcoming purchase for our church. They have a large selection of all kinds of musical instruments and they do lessons, as well. Knowledgeable and helpful staff. Highly recommended! Thanks, Joey!
Went in expecting to buy a new guitar on 01/26/2023. The man behind the counter was very unfriendly & unhelpful.
I found one I wanted to buy but I just didn’t really want to give my money to a person who didn’t know how to smile.
Another employee walked by and was even more emotionless than the other guy. I left feeling very unwelcome.
I will not be back.
Go to GUITAR CENTER instead (you can actually have FUN there).
6. Redbox
Address: 852 Madison St, Clarendon, AR 72029 , Monroe County , Arkansas , United States
Jr.great person to have dealt with
Employees great to friendly curtious
Getting my Gibson right they never disappoint
awesome
Neatly kept. Helpful but no price tags for browsing.
Great atmosphere, wonderful staff!
Interesting instruments
Used to be a Decent store. Now you’ll probably get better gear at a pawn shop. Everything is overpriced and if you return something you only get store credit. Sadly I can’t recommend All Star Music anymore.
Awful, just awful… Paid 150 for used guitar that retails for 120 and comes with a bag! Wouldn’t give me a refund, only in store credit… Definitely not going back here
They had barely anything and it was all used. They were very rude to me because I was a teenager!!!!!!!!
8. Back Beat Music
Address: 613 Southwest Dr, Jonesboro, AR 72401 , Monroe County , Arkansas , United States
I have been doing business with them off and on for 12 years now. I did more back in the day when I was in a band and playing regularly, but I can tell you the staff here is always helpful and courteous to my wife and I (even tolerant of my two year old). I have bought two guitars from them, several effects pedals and have even had their help in getting an amp serviced through an outside source. There is no where else in Jonesboro to get the service and quality of shop they have.
I’ve worked only with Greg and he’s been great. I tend to come in with too many questions and he has had no problem addressing them and being patient. He helped me trade a guitar and he has never declined looking for other parts and assortments I need. Support your local businesses like these who treat their customers kindly.
Had a repair done on my sons acoustic/electric. Was told it should be done In two days. The next day I get a call and they are already finished. Fair price for the repair and they were very courteous.
Great place to shop,
However one small issue I had there was when I was wanting to repair my Fender Guitar. The guitar was beat up a bit, had no strings, paint was damaged, and the knobs for the tuning were gone and the plate was cracked. My friend found it in an abandoned place and it was a decent guitar it was just badly damaged.
I went there to the receptionist and all I got was, “You are better off buying a new guitar” Etc. He was insistent on me just buying a new guitar. It was a very arrogant moment.
There are good thing’s about the place but from my only experience on this It was a huge waste of my time trying to repair, love the shop, the staff is pretty chill but I believe there can be changes.
I have been coming here for years as most of the reviewers. I have always had a decent experience. I’m just an amateur guitar player who doesn’t practice much and i don’t know much about music. I have to be fair and mention that, yes, the staff has at times, seemed curt and disinterested but I’ve never had an out-and-out bad experience here. It’s possible that they were simply just distracted or overwhelmed, it happens! I got lessons here from a swell guy several years ago. I wish i could remember his name. They seem to have a large variety of items like accessories-tuners, picks, strings, stands for your chords, chord books, guitar cases and guitars. They offer stringing services, although I’ve never used them. I think I’ve seen a few banjos and mandolins for sale over the years, although those may have been instruments taken on trade, i don’t know for a fact if they stock and sell those instruments. I also don’t know if they do trade-in as I’ve never had anything to trade. I have seen ukuleles there for sale. It is possible that they have expanded the lessons they offer into other instruments, such as wind instruments but I am not sure. That would depend entirely upon there being any such instructors available here in Jonesboro that don’t already have their own business giving lessons. That’s a lot of “maybes”. It would be good to call and just ask, if this is important to you. I do know that they used to give drum lessons, it’s possible they still do. If you are a musician or have a musician in your life, check this place out!
Yeah, I like the shop, but didn’t have the best experience. I brought my classical guitar in from out of town, and called first to specifically ask if they could restring with nylon wound. I brought another electric guitar in as well, since it needed new strings too. When I picked them up, they were both restrung, but my classical guitar was restrung with steel strings, not what I asked. They said they were out of nylon strings, but that these would work. It really changed the whole sound, and was not what I wanted. They didn’t show me the package, or indicate what type of strings for either guitar, but the invoice for both was almost $100! No set up, or anything, just a re-string. And I have no idea what they put on there. I guess it’s probably my fault that I have no time to put on my own strings, so let that be a lesson to me.
Been going here for almost a decade. Probably the most condescending and overall lackluster service you can get in Jonesboro. If you’re a musician and you have a question, prepare for a rough time. Great inventory, bad pricing.
I’m being harsh with my rating, but in my defense I’ve been here at least thirty times in my life and have some terrible stories to go along with my dissatisfaction. There are things that you just do not do in customer service.
Sadly enough, the decent music stores have all closed up. Backbeat and All star are all we really have left and they are equally bad.
EDIT: Not sure if All Star is still open actually; don’t let that diminish my credibility. I avoid these places like the plague.
Darrel Sykes, one of the employees, was absolutely rude and passive aggressive to me the first time I walked in there. He told me that the music scene here is cliquish then proceeded to ignore the fact I was in the store after trying to sell me a cheap-o condenser mic (I was looking for an AT4040). Trying to give them another shot after a couple of years I took a bass there for a repair, restring, and a set-up. The guitar tech was curt, impersonal, and left the old strings on there. When I went to pick it up, Darrel, another guy, and someone who I believe is the owner just stood there talking to each other for several minutes before seeing why I was there. There were no other customers visible. My bass turned out to be unplayable when I got it home, every note buzzed, and the saddles were lowered as far as they could go.
The inventory is lacking and the aloofness of the staff makes the place a total disappointment. I’ll drive to Memphis, Nashville, or St. Louis to outfit my home studio. I would advise any parent looking to get their teenager started on an instrument to look elsewhere.
Edit in response to the owner’s reply:
If by “imagine it” you mean how your staff actually treated me, then yes, that’s exactly how it happened.
9. Arkansas School Band Service Inc
Address: 508 Lillian, Benton, AR 72015 , Monroe County , Arkansas , United States
Lovely and very friendly staff. They are so welling and happy to help you with anything you need or may have questions about. Definitely recomend going here. Only reason didnt give them 5 stars, is some of the items/parts are pricey compared to online. But if you need it immediately or just cant find it online then go here. I’d also recommend comparing their price for what you need before making the decision. They have things on sale.
The lady that works in here, is like you are bothering her when you come inside the store, like really? Anyways after coming back in to make a payment as my wife had forgotten to one time, she didn’t mind being nice once she knew she getting money. Flute is almost paid for, and will never come back if we need another item.
10. Searcy AV Studio
Address: 139 Stringham Rd, Higginson, AR 72068 , Monroe County , Arkansas , United States
Gotta enjoy this place. I mostly go for strings for my guitars, primarily D’addario, Dunlop, and Exlir, which they carry here. I’ve bought the handful of others, though: straps, picks, cables (Stagg, to be exact). All solid and worth it. Quality stuff here.
I’ve been regularly visiting Paul and his shop for the past couple of years. The guys are always super nice and they’ve got an awesome selection of great instruments. They carry essentials like strat-like guitars and acoustics but they always have some really unique stuff on the wall as well.
I support our local music shop.
Not to bad
Great local music store. We have shopped here for years.
Good place to buy guitars, don’t ask them to fix anything you own uness you want it damaged.
Rude
12. Guitar Center
Address: 12315 Chenal Pkwy A, Little Rock, AR 72211 , Monroe County , Arkansas , United States
Very good selection and a very professional staff.
Super helpful staff
Fun place to go!
They were very helpful and had the adapter I needed when no one else did.
There are GC’s in every major town. They are all about the same. This one is as good as any. Just know that if you buy a guitar here that all they do is take them out of the box and hang them on the wall. They don’t do any set ups or anything. And if you do buy a guitar here expect a long wait to check out. They tend to help you a little, then go to another customer, then back to you and so on. It is what it is…. A big box store.
These guys are the worst! I bought a loop station last week and when I got home I realized there was no power cord with the product. I called up there and spoke to the kid who sold it to me and he acted like I should have known it didn’t come with a power cord. I’m sorry, I just assumed that when u buy an electronic device it comes with the cord that powers it! Another time, a lady sold me a $20 card on the expectation that I will get $5 off a purchase every month for a year. What she didn’t tell me is that u have to make a purchase once a month for it to be valid. So I just basically donated $20 to guitar center because I was lied to.
They are making people stand outside in the heat for way too long.
The person I dealt with was just unfriendly and seemed like they could care less about making a sale. I’d rather risk ordering online then deal with them.
13. High Note Band Instrument Repair
Address: 211 N Pruett St, Paragould, AR 72450 , Monroe County , Arkansas , United States
It’s a small shop that’s mostly focused on pianos but they also have guitars, basses, drum accessories and other related things. Their prices are very competitive as well.
Great place, knowledgeable staff
Nice little music shop with great customer service!
Great people, a very old store
I went into to buy a guitar. Very small selection
Lots of sheet music and DVDs but it is all on the computer today. Wonderful people. I wish them well!
My visit was to test the integrity of an electric guitar I had. Spoke to the guy behind the counter. (The one with the gray streaked goatee). Told him I was preparing to sell it via Facebook, and all I want to do is see if it sounds as it should. He said it was ok I was like great thanks. The buyer was from outta town and was shopping for guitar supplies. She had just bought amp still needed a cord possibly more. Asked her to meet up there since she was just down the road. She wanted to go in do to the rain. Instantly he started ranting that he’s a business man a professional and I was shady for what I had done. I was very polite. My reply ( I’m sorry I brought you a customer sure she meet up with me to buy a guitar for cheap but she still may need something) she was there for his childish act. ( she replied I do need a cord) He didn’t even bother to respond to her. He looks at me says someone smells bad like cigarettes… Wow 0 stars for your sir. Where’s your public relations at. Your welcome for that sell.

Great place to shop, they have a little of everything, great prices, staff is friendly and helpful!
If you like to shop flea markets, you need to check them out.
They are closed on Mondays!
This place has soooooooooooo much cute, stuff, reasonably priced, staff is amazing, each booth has something different. My co driver and I bought soooo much stuff lol we are definitely going back, they have big furniture as well as nick nacks, wall decor, etc. We loved it and will be back very soon.
Love bizzy b’s!!
Nice things to look at. Comfortable environment. When the store is busy it can be a bit cluttered.
This place no longer goes by the name. It is still a vintage type and store and has some new items. Cute store.
One really nice friendly younger lady, one grumpy not so helpful older lady. Place has tons of stuff.
16. Dorman Piano Co
Address: 21 Warnock Springs Rd, Magnolia, AR 71753 , Monroe County , Arkansas , United States
Everyone was so perfectly kind and helpful never once feeling false or condescending. I was treated as an equal even though I had never played. This was the best experience I could have hoped for. Please do your self a favor and enjoy this shop without hesitation!
What a neat shop. Super friendly staff. Very helpful! Highly recommended!
They help you with your violin needs. Simple as that,. Oh and they’re good at what they do!
Unique violin shop
I love that there’s a local place to have your stringed instruments adjusted and usually while you wait. My only complaint is that they charged me two different prices for the same service. My family is new to violin lessons and the instrument, so I can’t be absolutely sure that there was no difference…but there should be a uniform price for tuning/restringing a 1/4 sized violin. The staff is very courteous and informative. They also have a list of great string instrument instructors.
18. Arkansas Musicworks
Address: 2400 SE J St, Bentonville, AR 72712 , Monroe County , Arkansas , United States
Always a pleasure to do business with A Arkansas Musicworks. Either in person or their internet sales.
We are so lucky to have Arkansas Musicworks in Bentonville! The dedication and service of the staff are fantastic, and the new store is gorgeous. My son takes saxophone lessons every week at AMW, and we’ve purchased instruments at the store, as well. I can’t say enough good things about our experience at this stellar small business. If you need to buy an instrument, accessory, have a repair done, or want lessons for yourself or your children, go to Arkansas Musicworks!
Wonderful tutors
My kids are learning instruments here. Teachers here are well experienced and knowledgeable.
Pretty nice place! First time I have ever been was last week and was surprised at how pretty the inside of the building was and the nice selection overall. They have some beautiful guitars in there that take up an entire wall!
My only two complaints is the drum section is cramped in a corner, and I wasn’t approached or asked if I needed help a single time. There was one other customer in the building besides me and there was around four employees by the counter. I walked around the entire store for about 30 minutes and not a single time was I asked if I needed anything.
Not a major deal. Nice store and I will be back!
Do not honor trade in value. Poor customer service.
I wish I knew or experienced what other people have seen here. I walked in with my wife as the only customers an hour after they opened. Out of the four visible employees milling around, one nodded a hello as we walked in the front doors. Otherwise, there was no interaction from anyone. No one even bothered to notice we were leaving even though we walked next to them and the counter is 20 ft from the door.
The guitar inventory was ok, acoustic guitars are less than 1/5 of the inventory and like the balance, was mid-low to low end save one or two items. There is nothing wrong with the quality and price point/selection being on the affordable side but I was a bit shocked given how pretty the property is and it’s overall size. I was looking for something different and would only really knock a five start review down one notch at worst.
The bathrooms are very clean.
They put my kid in their waiting list 3 months back. We tried to call instructor 3 times and left voice messages but no response ever. It is so unprofessional and we did not like it….
19. Family Dollar
Address: 1421 Pinecrest St, Brinkley, AR 72021 , Monroe County , Arkansas , United States
The store is now a Family Dollar/ Dollar Tree. The customer service from Chance and Jennifer was excellent! Greeted me with a smile, and were very helpful. They also made sure to ask if I would like to purchase a reeses. The store is very spacious and clean. You will be able to find a variety of things here.
General everyday merchandise at good prices
Pretty good variety , big and spacious, pretty clean and easy to find items. Far better improvement from the old family dollar store here
Low garden supplies and the frozen section was a little low but everything else was fine
20. Saied Music Co
Address: 2880 Point Cir, Fayetteville, AR 72704 , Monroe County , Arkansas , United States
They were super nice and very helpful. They answered all questions to the best of their ability, and made picking out an instrument very easy.
Great people
Great area to buy and repair items of school instruments also very nice people
Always very helpful. Some hard to find items too.
Good customer service
Pretty great selection of instruments, however I felt extremely awkward with the staff and felt like my questions were intrusions. You could chalk this up to me just being anxious, but I would have much more appreciated an employee who could recommend stuff to me, and willing to help me find what I’m looking for. I’ll be going to A different shop to get what I need
Do not let them store your debit card on file. I have an unauthorized charge on my account. ONLY PAY THEM THROUGH THE WEBSITE, NOT OVER THE PHONE.
When I got there I was excited to be buying a ukulele something I’ve been wanting since I was little and when I asked how much taxes were because $82 up from the $54 seemed outrageous the man said idk and didn’t even check it just took an extra $21 and when I was asking questions about other instruments he had. No information literally making me. Still waiting on the money to be back in my account had to go to bed hungry tonight
