McDonald’s is standardized across the world. This one’s about the same as any other.
Good service
Pretty good food. Little to much of a wait
It’s Mikey d. They are all pretty similar to me.
It was too cold inside if the workers are hot put 2 airs in one back with them and one for the costumers
Went through drive thru at 1050pm last night and they told us they was closed. I called as we left and asked when they closed and they said 11. I told the young lady I was just there and was told you was closed. She try to say she asked what we wanted. Gave her another chance to tell the truth and she lied again. I asked to speak to the manager and she said it was her. GO FIGURE!!!! I will never eat at that McDonald’s again. I know it sucks when someone comes through at 10 minutes to close but just do your job and when i give you a chance to tell the truth do the right thing.
Lobby closed at 10pm…why?? nobody is cleaning the lobby when I walk up….more attention needs to be paid when wondering while sales are low….and dont tell me its because of covid because lobby was open during ENTIRE lockdown as long as mask were worn. Feels more like lazy employees taking advantage of things rather than dealing with paying customers…
Disappointing Experience at McDonald’s: A Call to Support Local Businesses
My recent visit to McDonald’s was nothing short of a disaster. Not only did the establishment subject my family and me to food poisoning, but they also displayed a complete disregard for the American flag and the values it represents. This experience has further solidified my belief in supporting local businesses that genuinely prioritize our health and community.
The food poisoning incident left us physically and emotionally distressed. It is disheartening to witness such negligence from a massive corporation that prioritizes profits over our health.
Adding insult to injury, McDonald’s displayed a tattered and neglected American flag for an extended period and took it down for over a month before replacing. This blatant disrespect for a symbol that represents our unity and patriotism is deeply concerning. It is a stark reminder that corporate giants like McDonald’s can often lose touch with the core values that make our country great.
In the face of such disappointments, it becomes increasingly important to support local businesses. Unlike massive corporations, local establishments prioritize customer satisfaction and invest in the community. By patronizing local businesses, we contribute to the growth of our local economy while receiving better service and products.
Let us remember that we have the power to shape our community and economy through our purchasing choices. Instead of supporting corporations that prioritize profits over our well-being, let’s support local businesses that genuinely care about their customers’ health and the values that bind us together as a community. Together, we can build a stronger, healthier, and more caring society.
3. The Crossing Thrift Store – Mount Sterling
Address: 104 E Main St, Mt Sterling, IL 62353 , Mount Sterling , Illinois , United States
I will definitely be back! This is one of the best thrift stores I’ve ever been to!
We found some amazing deal on some cute house knick knacks! Customer service was super also, we will be back to shop again.
very good and friendly staff.
I used to love going to this place because everything was a deal and I loved getting everything I could find, but now they have raised prices and price things differently. It’s still a great store, I just wish the prices were the same.
There are lots of women’s clothing there, but
much fewer men’s clothing there.
I ues to go here quite a lot. Lately not so much. For whatever reason they have raised their prices quite a bit on many items. Not long ago I went with my sister and we found a children’s book I would have loved to have bought for her granddaughter. It was like new and still had original price on it of $5.99. They wanted $6 .What a joke!
More like the garbage left in a dead cat lady’s house than a thrift store? Smells like it too. Yacked after seeing what looked like dried barf on a pair of jeans. Hard pass.
I used to love love love this place until they started upping their prices so much because they research the original price online and then price it. that’s not right, they get that stuff for free and honestly i probably won’t be going in there much to never which breaks my heart but most of their stuff isn’t worth to buy when it’s very close to the orginal store price.
4. Hop Garden
Address: 121 N Capitol Ave, Mt Sterling, IL 62353 , Mount Sterling , Illinois , United States
Genuinely good beer on tap in an outdoor setting with corn hole, live music in the heart of the uptown area.
Niceeeeeeeeeee
Nice new space with an outdoor stage and bar. The beer selection was alright, but not very cold. Some of the staff was friendly and the locals seem to enjoy it. Good venue for an event if you don’t have more than 100.
5. Sportsman’s
Address: 111 N Capitol Ave, Mt Sterling, IL 62353 , Mount Sterling , Illinois , United States
Really fun bar with good service. Beer was cold and had the games on
Very interesting selection of craft beers, especially for a small town.
Great selection of beer served by good people in an environment conducive to fun times. Highly recommend.
Friendly bar tender. The guy working knew his alcohol if u had a question.
Beer is cold
Staff have not always been the most friendly.
They sell too much craft beer / IPA’s for my liking. And no longer serve classic American beers on tap; it’s craft beer.
No longer Miller, Budweiser, Coors, etc on tap, as far as I know.
It would be better with lower pricing on bottles more often.
To each his own. It is good to see one bar left in this town and I hope they stay open for the sake of business.
Nice place . was packed with. Very young crowd night we went only stayed for about 2 mins then left . wasnt what i expected at all . wont ever go on a weeknight again.
6. Hagel 1891
Address: 115 E Main St, Mt Sterling, IL 62353 , Mount Sterling , Illinois , United States
Great food, great service. Mixed drinks are $5 and worth every penny.
Excellent food & service.
A group of friends and I take an annual hunting trip in Illinois. Word of mouth was Hagel’s is THE place to go. They were right!! This place is outstanding! It was busy but we got seated quickly at the bar. The prime rib sandwich was incredible! Melts in your mouth. The bartender and entire staff was very friendly and professional. The atmosphere is also outstanding. I would be a regular patron if I didn’t live 13 hours away. Can’t wait til next year to eat at Hagel 1891 again!
Very nice place to eat for a small town. Food was good prices fair.
Always a good place to eat, we usually get the special of the day but anything on the menu is very good.
Great destination dining. Good food and drink. Wonderful service.
The food is good but the service is absolutely terrible.
Nicely decorated. But horribly slow service, specially the seating process.
Normally I don’t post reviews,BUT took my buddy in there this evenings,,sat very close to bar, didn’t even get the whole menu,we had to ask about steak, was going after ribeye, because everyone talked about it,ordered a beer each,,10 minutes later, got a water, then 15 minutes later, got up and walked out,a bartender, 2 waitress kept walking past us and never got asked anything nor if we wanted apps, and never got the beers,so not sure if we didn’t fit in or….,but…..not sure what else to say, after looking at all the other reviews, just seemed strange!!!

8. Ridge View Winery
Address: 529 County Rd 200 N, Mt Sterling, IL 62353 , Mount Sterling , Illinois , United States
Great location with beautiful building and enough room to sit with or without our great nieces and nephews. Wine was tasty, difficult to select which one we liked best. Larry and his wife were very gracious and we hope to return again!
Now s word from the bartender about that wedding four yrs ago. The only “hitting on” was telling the maid of honor the history of the color of black in weddings. Which is black was a common color for wedding dresses until queen Victoria wore a white dress to her wedding .
Good service! Owners are very nice and cordial! Friendly atmosphere.
Pretty ADA accommodated however not fully. Parking is terrible. Roads full of large pot holes. Do not drink and drive at night dangerous we counted 20+ deer running in front of car on way home. Turn left when the leaving or its a terrible windy gravel road to nowhere
Wine taste good and staff is friendly. Live band Sunday afternoons.
Drove over 30 mins today after checking the website to make sure this Winery was opened, we get there, walk half way up the steps only to find out from a man in the parking lot, with his trunk opened, that they were in fact closed until the 13 of February! Not a good way to run and establishment people. Not to sure we will be coming back.
Have been calling and sending emails to them since December to try to set up an event. There’s been no answer and no answering machine. Now me emails come back as undeliverable. Web site indicates that they are open today but still no answer on phone after letting it ring 20-30 times until their phone disconnected. Good luck. Wondering if they closed up.
Wedding/Reception Review: Recently held a wedding and reception here for under 100 people this past Saturday. Beautiful place but there was a number of speed bumps throughout the weekend. Our Keg was frozen most of the night, and told we only ordered 1 where we ordered 2. Chair setup was horrible, barely enough chairs for all our guests and in un uniformed chairs. (Told they had plenty of seating) One of the Owners was cooking in the kitchen as our reception was going on, getting in the way of our caterers so she could cook herself food while still eating ours later. Rediculous. Their male bar tender was overly hitting on our guests all night. We were asked to move wedding games after we’d setup and “rented” the place for the weekend because they “have non wedding guests/customers all the way up until wedding time” which was not disclosed with us, and not ok. Not enough parking. They had customers stay for our entire reception in a corner because they don’t have a policy to keep only the guests that were invited in the building. Unprofessional owners. Wouldn’t recommend a wedding here if you like privacy, uniformity, and professionalism.
