Had such a wonderful time there, plus there are many nooks and crannies to explore to find something worthwhile; I found an amazing Members Only jacket and a vintage Miller High Life pin in excellent condition and the price was more than fair. Tim at the counter was more than polite and greeted everyone who came in with a smile and genuine hospitality. Groovy lil shop in the mountains.
Not just a store, it’s an EXPERIENCE!
The atmosphere is incredible, people are awesome, I could LIVE here!!!
Could be a cool place, didn’t like all the DONT TOUCH, YOUR ON CAMERA, “we don’t like people to try on clothes “…….it’s just me but I don’t like it when stores are so concerned about the merch. It feels like your at your grouchy Aunts house not a cool 60s vibe…….it honestly felt like I was imposing, signs signs everywhere signs blocking up the………..
I haven’t been to this place in years, but loved it. Looks like they redid the front of the building or remodeled the place.. My brother goes there every time he comes down here. He loves the place.
A little overpriced but they have everything you need for your oldies needs.
2. Porter’s Pawn & Bargain Center, Inc
Address: 625 E 9th St, Mountain Home, AR 72653 , Mountain Home , Arkansas , United States
Nice selection of guns and jewelry decently priced.
The staff is really knowledgeable and friendly. They seem to able and willing to help just about anybody. They have a great selection of pistols and rifles. It’s a pleasure doing business with them.
These guys had the best prices around. I called them up and order a firearm over the phone. Super nice professional people and extremely fast shipping. Thanks again I will be a returning customer!
Fast friendly service. They loaned more than I actually needed. I will use Porters Pawn more often. They also have a lot of nice jewelry for resale.
Thank you Porters Pawn
Great place
Should have paid more attention to the rifle Trigger Guard was cracked all the way through, had a piece of black tape holding it together but thats common on Savage, $25 for a metal trigger guard!! Gave me Good deal on the shells
I took 1lb of silver in and was lied to about the penny weight and value. One pound of silver is 320.0 pennyweights and I was told what I had was only 240.0 pennyweights, the avg value of a silver pennyweight is $1.15 and they were offereing $.50. Truly dissatisfied and will not return or recommend to anyone.
They might be great on certain things but big Steves is more up-to-date. First I took some ultra rare retro Nintendo games in there that were worth anywhere between $200 and $600 each and they offered me a dollar apiece without even looking them up value wise. Today I took 70 original Nintendo games in there that were valued at anywhere from five dollars to $20 each and I was only asking $60 to pawn them. And they said they could only offer me $10. Don’t waste your time with these people. I took the same rare games that were valued at $200-$600 each to big Steve’s and he offered me $350 to pawn them where these guys offered me eight dollars.
At one time Porters Pawn was probably the best place in the Mountain Home area to buy a gun. I bought several from them and the prices were always fair. As of late that all has changed. They have a new policy now where they do not deal like they used too. You can do much better on prices anywhere but here. I will not even attempt to buy from these people ever again. They have lost a once steady customer!
3. Jack’s Package Store
Address: 960 Hwy 62 E, Mountain Home, AR 72653 , Mountain Home , Arkansas , United States
Always a fun place to get alcohol. They have what you want and very lovely people. The gentleman with the longer dark hair with glasses is awesome. Knows what he’s got and how to find it fast.
Great selections!
Friendly and knowledgeable staff that are happy to help and give recommendations
Good service and wine selection.
Great place, big selection
Great prices.
Friendly staff.
Mimosas Sunday.
Warehouse liquor store is tax included and ask for a discount!! Jacks does give military discount… I appreciate that!
My husband bought a half gallon of schnapps that I tries to exchange for a smaller size since there is no way we will ever consume that much. They told me that it is against the law to accept returns or exchanges. I called the Arkansas Alcohol Beverage Control to verify what I was told. They said there was no law concerning the return of unopened liquor and that it was up to the store. Obviously, I was lied to. I do not want to patronize a store that has dishonest business practices.
Prices were fine, but employees were very rude to my wife. rolled their eyes at her and instead of helping us look for what we were looking for lady just pointed from behind the counter saying”its literally right over there.” was not there. found what we were looking for in a completly different isle. went to grab a few beers from next to the register and overheard their ‘quiet conversation’ saying that “welfare is just n****r money”…disgusting. never going back.
They pick only the cleanest, in trend merchandise to go out, and price it at fair resell value. (sorry resellers, not much room to flip.) Great if buying for yourself or gifts.
Great store. Interesting book selection, good prices. I could spend hours in there
Great place to stock up on clothes or donate clothes to help a good cause.
A local gem! Cool stuff! Great prices! A perfect excuse to explore the “Square” in Mountain Home!
Nice little thrift shop.
Good prices and good finds for worthy cause.
6. Redbox
Address: 350 Hwy 62 E, Mountain Home, AR 72653 , Mountain Home , Arkansas , United States
The service we received at brand source furniture and appliances was excellent. Delivery was made on a Saturday which we thought was exceptional. We would highly recommend brand sources to everyone. They were fantastic.
Big Green Egg Owner— Doug has taken care of me for years. Last week I had a warranty issue on my XL egg, he went above and beyond— I had a brand new replacement sitting on my deck the next day. The only place I go for anything related to grilling.
Damaged and stinky Furniture when delivered to your house nice when you look at in-store. And they will not make it right
9. Dollar General
Address: 1344 Hwy 62 SW, Mountain Home, AR 72653 , Mountain Home , Arkansas , United States
It’s a newer store. It was fairly clean and organized. The cashier was friendly and laughing. They had the music a little loud but not to bad because of the traffic noise.
1st time shopping here nice clean store will be returning to shop
Friendly staff
Aisles were crowded with unpacked goods. Very difficult to get items.
10. Walmart Supercenter
Address: 65 N Walmart Dr, Mountain Home, AR 72653 , Mountain Home , Arkansas , United States
Highly recommend very good people and good atmosphere very, very helpful with everything.
Great store
They have really good items and it’s clean, however they didn’t answer the phone when I called during their open hours at 4:30pm on a Tuesday when they close at 6:00pm. That cost them one star. I called three times so it was a very sure thing.
Little bit of everything
This was a very cool store for sure with a very unique selection of old toys and assorted nostalgia provoking memorabilia, along with your normal pawn shop items. Certainly quite unique to Mtn Home. What makes me give them such a low rating is their staff. The cashier (mega man t shirt if you’re reading this big steve) was quite rude and condescending to me. I simply started an idle conversation with him and he was just so awful, seriously. You can tell when someone doesn’t respect their customers and simply wants you to go away, and that was certainly the case. I won’t be back and let me tell you, with what they stock there I probably would’ve been back many times to spend my hard earned cash. Oh, and the fact that they sell meth pipes definitely didn’t help their rating either. Call me judgemental, but enabling hard drug addicts is a business model I simply cannot respect. The lady in the beanie at the door was wonderful though, very friendly.
They claim to cash checks but when you take a cashier’s check into them they won’t cash it, if you claim to cash checks then cash checks, misleading just to get people into the store
Female clerk was not very friendly. She was more interested in having an ongoing conversation with another female friend instead of being attentive to me, a cash customer. Will go elsewhere to shop.
12. Cove Coffee
Address: 714 S Baker St, Mountain Home, AR 72653 , Mountain Home , Arkansas , United States
The best coffee place in town with friendly staff and owners. Plus, they have ice cubes that are just blocks if frozen coffee so when you let it melt you have a second small drink. You know what that is? Dope, that’s what that is.
Kelsey & Amber are the sweetest! I only come in once every two weeks or so, but they’re always so happy & are smiling! This is my favorite sit down place, the vibes are the best!
It was amazing, and wish I could go everyday ❤️
We had the yellow chai tea large made with almond milk and added pistachio. It cost over 15.00 for two of them. It left a bitter after taste. Brewed awakings Chai latte is better then there tea.
This place is awsome. The scones are made in house and are both sweet and savory.
Great barista! Fun atmosphere.
Came for coffee. It was meh at best. Espresso shots were expired and milk over steamed—which you could chalk up to preference. But there was a menthol product (like Carmex) on the edge of one of the cups that we discovered after we left. Pretty gross. Wouldn’t come back.
Great atmosphere and cool artwork, but…
Was overcharged. Charged for 2 large americanos instead of 2 cold brews (1 small 1 large). Was charged twice for alt. milk. When I showed my receipt, I got a heavy attitude and stank face. Random $1 charge for “frozen” though I got 2 cold brews. Would not come here again.
My ongoing quest to find the best local, to-go cup of java led me to Cove Coffee. In a head to head comparison with McDonalds, I regret to inform that they fall well short for the following reasons: 1) one is obliged to look for parking and walk-in, whereas @ McDs the convenient drive-thru option is available, 2) the quality and taste is the same at both locales with McDs offering the greater value with the senior’s coffee 1/2 the price of Cove’s, 3) I always look forward to banter with Buzz @ the McDs drive-thru, but the initial congeniality @ Cove’s was tepid at best. With all that said, Dear Reader, your humble reviewer still finds the coffee to-go @ Starbuck’s to be far superior in quality, taste and value than the rest, despite the premium price and inconvenience.
13. Acumen Audio Inc
Address: 1511 Hwy 62 E, Mountain Home, AR 72653 , Mountain Home , Arkansas , United States
I bought a new radio for my sons 4Runner for Christmas. They were super helpful, and installed the radio right away. It looks great! I highly recommend them!
Good place
This is good work
Good stereo and equipment installers. Front staff is stern but workers are cool
Haven’t actually done business with them, but I just spoke with an employee named Andy (over the phone). He was very informative. He seemed very nice, and eager to help (as well).
So thanx again dude. -Brad
Got my widows tinted here customer service could be a little better and it’s been 3 weeks and still have a few bubbles in tint they are on the corners so it’s not as big of a deal waited the full 5 days as requested and not cleaning them as well
Product not explained well and when I called to talk about it was basically told to bad. Will never return, have to take car elsewhere to have it corrected.
Horrible customer service
They originally did my New Toyota Camry and got it done fast and did a good job, but I recently went back to do another vehicle that I just purchased and they got the wrong tint percentage and apologized even though they called twice to ask what percentage I wanted. I appreciated that they fixed the pricing but it still wasn’t what I asked for. Later while driving I noticed a cut from the razor blade on the front windshield that they use to cut in the film I called them the next day (today) and told them that the front windshield is too dark (almost unsafe to drive at night) and the gentleman said “I did 40% on the windshield” so I asked because the receipt says 15% all around he said “it’s 40% I installed it” and hung up. So I wasn’t even able to mention about the cut in the film. I understand that they are busy and it maybe a silly accident but if i’m paying almost 400 dollars (originally charged me $500) for a installation I at least expect to have it done right and if a mistake is made to have it corrected. I hate to write a bad review but if you cant correct your mistake fully or be professional about your mistake, others deserve to know.
14. ASU Mountain Home Bookstore
Address: 1600 S College St, Mountain Home, AR 72653 , Mountain Home , Arkansas , United States
Card readers always seem to not read the cards. Always have to swipe my card a half dozen times before it reads it.
I give it 1 Star out of 5 for Redbox because i hate renting that with a machine. As i’m a former customer of all those Video Stores. I was formerly been renting both Movies including Cartoons, Fishing Show, Wrestling & Parted TV Episodes and Video Games since 1980s especially as a little kid. I was formerly been coming buy to all those Video Stores including like Sheid’s Video. Harps Video. Fantastic Features Video. Vision Video then later as Starlights Video. Video to Go. Consumers/IGA Video. Crossroads Video. Movie Gallery. And Hastings Entertainment. And yes i did quit renting those movies with VHS in 2003 and then quit renting Video Games in 2009. And yes after 3 Decades since renting. All those Video Stores are now out of business. After 32 Years. I am not going to those Video Stores anymore. And someone was right about that. I told my mom there is no more Video Stores. Because it’s gone forever. All it’s left now is Redbox. So i give it 1 Star out of 5 and thumbs down for Redbox Rental Machines.
Overpriced for their movie rentals since we don’t have any other rental place anymore. But they have some new movies.
16. Marchant Building Center
Address: 1815 S. College Spur, Mountain Home, AR 72653 , Mountain Home , Arkansas , United States
I drove thru and got a sugar free cinnamon roll iced coffee. The staff is so nice and the coffee is delicious! I’ll be going here a lot!
Dietary restrictions: Sugar free and non-dairy options!
Good coffee- good price!
Drive through coffee shop. No building to go inside. There was no menu to order off of. Had to quickly pull the menu up on my phone. They only have muffin tops to go with coffee.
Wheelchair accessibility: No building to go inside for wheelchair accessibility
Very clean, good coffee. I wish there were breakfast selections like croissants or something real to eat and not just sweets. I would stop by each morning before work if they had any type of breakfast.
We had a horrible experience this morning here. Lids not on tight, outside of cups all full of coffee, and they poured a large cappuccino that was more than half foam and said, “That’s how they are.” This is unacceptable.
No cold brew and they don’t take reusable cups due to “the rona”, but they’ll gladly handle your cash… I’ll stick with Denbro.
Been to a lot better locations where atmosphere was happy and very welcoming but not this location not satisfied with the service and drinks. Won’t be back.
18. Red Star Antiques
Address: 3328 US-62, Mountain Home, AR 72653 , Mountain Home , Arkansas , United States
High quality antiques that are priced fairly. The owner will also entertain offers on certain items. He seriously has a great collection. I scored an old sign from Red Star and I love it. I’ll swing in again next time I’m in town.
Joey is the man the. Sells nothing but the best stuff on the market
Large place with mix of furniture down to jewelry. Higher quality, higher prices, worth checking out.
Great place
I will be the first to say, I was shocked. Did not expect to see so much in this place, so clean, well organized. I hope that they will keep it up.
Not open . Drove from West of Springfield to be disappointed.
19. McDonald’s
Address: 1019 Hwy 62 E, Mountain Home, AR 72653 , Mountain Home , Arkansas , United States
Excellent customer service with the Pharmacist, and their staff. They are very busy & on top of their responsibility’s. Highly recommend their Pharmacist & staff!!!!!
After Emergency Room we got to this Pharmacy at 10 minutes to close in a Monday, they filled our prescription for my Mother In Law in a few minutes, saving us a trip back in town the next day.
Customer service great but pharmacy understaffed, overwhelmed so very slow!
An endlessly revolving door of overworked staff endlessly taking their frustrations with the management out on the patients/customers, so in other words a classic example of an incompetently managed rural franchise. If I wanted to wait half an hour in line only to be condescended to, I’d go to the DMV.
I tried to get my diabetic meds there and had to go back three times to get half of it then they canceled my perccricption because every time I went to get it the line wrapped around the building so I waited until the next time I went into town. And that wasn’t fast enough for them. I am getting my perccricptions elsewhere.
Come here if you would like to wait 30min in line every time. Honestly don’t know what takes this place so long every time but I promise you there is always a 15-30min wait even after they call and tell you your prescription ready to pick up. Terribly ran place!!
