Very nice guy! Enjoy’s his work and seems to be a master at his craft.
Highly recommend! The owner Kevin is very knowledgeable and provides terrific service. He let me take home multiple violins on extended trials before I selected mine. He was patient, answered all my questions, and went out of his way to ensure a great experience. He even changed strings on one of the trial instruments so I could compare. I ended up with a very nice Romanian violin that I’m extremely happy with. Great experience and looking forward to using Kevin again in the future.
Great luthier. Highly recommended for buying and repairing/tweaking instruments.
We found Kevin Chapin’s violin shop because my daughter really needs a set of new violin strings before her senior recital. I visited his workshop, which is amazing, and got the strings. Kevin was really helpful describing the difference between the strings that were available. He is very skilled and knowledgable.
Nice shop. Repairing cost seemed reasonable.

Donato is an excellent technician with a professional and passionate attitude. My son buys a fair amount of vintage gear, and it’s great to have a go to guy for repairs and information.
He does great work!
Donato overhauled a 1979 Orange OR120 head for me. The entire process was fabulous. He took the time to explain the process and the amp was done on time, sounds amazing, and the price was fair. I would definitely recommend Dual Stage Amplification to anyone who needs amp repair in Fairfield Co. Connecticut!
I just had Duel Stage repair my turbosound ip3000 D.J equipment and Donato did a fantastic job. I dropped it by him on Tuesday and it was done and playing at my gig on Saturday night. Worked flawless. highly recommend him. Very quick friendly service. I will use Dual Stage again

Great record collection, very helpful and knowledgeable owner
Fantastic spot for all sorts of records, mainly used stuff. Chris (the owner) is very knowledgeable and will usually have a recommendation if you ask for it.
I’ve dropped in a lot of shops in the north east recently and this is easily one of the best. If you find yourself grinding up I95 for any reason, do yourself a favor and exit here.
Don’t trust the posted store hours. Tried to visit on my way through New Haven (Thursday 9/7/2023 around 1pm) but the stored was closed (store should have opened at 12pm). Waited 30 minutes, but had to get back on the road. Quite a disappointment as I went out of my way to drop in and support this store. What a waste of time.
loved last time i was here- found some great gems. sadly the don’t keep to published hours as the 2nd time visiting they were closed at 12:30 on a Weds- with a few customers waiting outside.
Varied selection, lots of cheap records on bottom shelves, fair prices on all the rest. Large international and Bollywood sections. Friendly and knowledgeable owner who has a great taste in music
Probably my least favorite record shop in the state. Heavily scratched records are priced at collection levels. I would not personally shop here, especially with Redscroll so close. If you want to check out a good small shop in state, Records The Good Kind is a MUCH better quality store.
The guy who owns this shop is a decent dude. He likes to talk music and that’s cool. Be careful not to let him gas you up on records you’re looking at, though. He will absolutely tell you that albums are cleaner than can easily be observed.
I buy/listen to/ review hundreds of records a year so this is not coming from a place of lack of knowledge of the industry. Also be very sure to check for bootlegs as he has them unmarked in shop. Remember that the most important component to quality sound when listening to vinyl is the quality of the disk. There is very little quality in this shop.
Came down from Groton, CT. Place looks great from the outside, but not open despite hours stating they’d be open. Disappointing.
We came all the way from New York just to see this record store since it had been recommended to us. However, when we got there, it was closed even though it should have been open. We waited for another 30 minutes (Wed, 9/6/23, 12-12:30) before we left without having even gotten inside. Calling didn’t help either since no one answered the phone. Very disappointing experience…

Andrew overhauled my A Robert oboe. The man is a genius, and takes painstaking care to make the resulting cleaned, rehabbed mechanism work better than new. Knowledgeable and precise, Andrew proved it was not necessary to send my baby to Tennessee. If your oboe has a problem, run, don’t walk to Goldie and Libro, best oboe mechanic in the North East.
Been doing business with Goldie and Libro for over 35 years. They have exceptional customer service. My most recent purchase was a violin for my daughter. The violin is a beautiful piece. It came in fast, he supplied extra strings. And gave my daughter a music book to go with it, he called to make sure that she was enjoying her new instrument. I had a great experience with this store and i look forward to doing business with them in the future.
When my son was playing the trumpet throughout his school career, we often went to Goldie and Libro for service on his trumpet and other needs. The professionalism and kindness which we encountered was unequaled. Mr. Libro consistently gave my son time, attention, and encouragement. In addition, he went out of his way on several occasions to help out during emergency situations when my son‘s trumpet was not working properly. Mr. Libro truly loves music but, he loves his customers even more. It was indeed a pleasure doing business with him over the years and I recommend this business without hesitation or reservation.
I do Not recommend this place to anyone. The owner of the shop was very rude. When my card declined for some reason he announced it very loadly to everyone and when I gave them my second card he hoped my card was working this time.
They were absolutely no help. Don’t waste your time.
I went to this place this morning ,the owner no nice to us ,because we are first time here ,we need somebody help , we won’t come back in the future.
Thomas is a very encouraging teacher which is very nice. Very positive experience
My kids have been taking piano lessons with Thomas for the last 2 years and love him. He’s a great kids teacher. He expects them to work and pay attention but keeps it fun, and he doesn’t talk down to them. They have learned so much from him in all aspects – technique, theory, composition etc. We highly recommend him!
Nelson’s performance at our ceremony and cocktail hour during our wedding was amazing . Playing his saxophone at our wedding made it unforgettable. The songs and the beautiful sound of the saxophone made just perfect. Nelson is highly recommended. He is extremely talented, a true professional, reliable, great value for money and very easy to work with and I would not hesitate to recommend him as a saxophonist for any event. Thank you Nelson for make our day unforgettable.
