My son Sam 6 years old had a wonderful experience over the summer with Besty the piano teacher. Such a friendly place!
I have went here a lot over the years I was in middle school and high school,it is a great music shop. The prices are fair, and the staff is really great, I am going to miss not going there every so often when I go to boot camp in less than 30 days, but they will always get my business for different stuff I might need. They also are very familiar with the equipment, you can not ask them a question and not have it answered, there is always a staff member that knows what you are asking for. All in all it is a great business and they are always happy to help no matter what you ask about, but it does have to be about the equipment that they have there, so they can not probably answer a question about something non-musically related, but I am sure directions If needed is something that they could do but that is not what they are there to do, if you do have to do that, there is probably a customer in the store that is a Floridian and can help you out. -david reeves.
Knowledgeable staff, good selection (especially for beginners!) and one of the best customer service experiences I’ve ever had. The associates, Dylan, Jim and Larry, are as professional as it gets. Fair prices, great service— if you haven’t been in yet GO! You will thank yourself later.
Great customer service
Great local shop for all your instrument needs. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff, all of which are musicians. Store has a great facility for lessons, too.
Nice store.
Right in Venice so conveniently located.
I will never go to Troll Music agen! Nick’s only care is money. And how much he can screw out of you.
Spent 50 dollars on a Floyd rose setup and there is nothing but string buzz now. Now I have to go spend money at a real shop to fix the mistakes.
Update your working time for Saturday, shop was close at 4 pm instead 6 pm

5. Florida Violins
Address: 325 W Venice Ave Suite D, Venice, FL 34285 , Nokomis , Florida , United States
When I think of (Florida Violins) I think of the owner Mr DaVid Pineda/Huezo. Which makes me think of Integrity, Dedication, and old world craftsmanship. You wont be disappointed!
Just came back from the shop. It was in downtown Venice. The owner was a very knowledgeable violin maker. He fixed my son’s bow (bought from elsewhere) for free. He explained to me what the problem was, and he went the extend of drawing a diagram to show me. I will probably go to him again when we need a bigger violin.
We were so pleased with this violin shop. The owners were so pleasant , informative, knowledgeable and professional. We needed new strings for our violin and they were able to see us without appointment and get it done in a very short time. My daughter left more knowledgeable about violin and is excited to play with her new bow and new strings on her violin. You can definitely tell the owners love what they do. Beautiful shop !!!
6. Nokomis Music Academy

I’ve bought great furniture from Davis Thrift Store. & There is always great finds. The people are always pleasant here.
Great resale place. Bought a lot of furniture there during our renovation last year.
What a fun place to shop! You never know what you will find. The staff are very helpful and friendly
Great place to shop. Friendly owners.
Great prices lots of cool lawn decor Huge new space lots of furniture China lamps home decor tools appliances
Lots of stuff including furniture at garage sale prices. I always find some kind of treasure. Glassware, lamps, kitchen and craft items, tools etc.
This is a for profit thrift shop. However, they advertise on their front door that they take donations. Hmm. Be prepared to be greeted upon entry by huge and obnoxious Trump displays. I walked out. I’ll take my liberal snowflake money elsewhere, preferably to someone doing good in the community.
Just got cursed out by the delivery driver, who was driving on the wrong side of the rd.
I used to shop at this store but I will not EVER be back!. Today when we stopped by to shop, NOT ONE EMPLOYEE WAS WEARING A MASK. VERY INCONSIDERATE OF CUSTOMERS IN FRAGILE HEALTH.
Masks are not too much to ask!
8. AntiqueToys.com Toys by Appointment
Address: 1079 Tamiami Trail N, #110, Nokomis, FL 34275 , Nokomis , Florida , United States
I contacted Ed in reference to the toys of my childhood that were taking up residence in our attic. I sent him pictures and he gave me a fair opinion. He then came out and took the whole lot. Very personable and fair. I recommend doing business with Antique Toys and Ed.
Ed was so kind as to call me personally, after I had sent him a txt message, and answered all my questions in regards to a 1910 Marklin cannon. He was genuinely eager to help. The knowledge he shared with me was priceless. Thank you! Thank you!

Always a pleasant stop for food or drink. Staff is fast and friendly. Food is very good.
Food was well prepared service was very good, dined outside table but there was a few birds stealing people’s food
Went here on memorial day. It was a great experience! Our server was Angie and she was so welcoming. Angie was funny gave quick service even on that holiday. We had fun and enjoyed a few side conversations with the other patrons. There were birds there, and The atmosphere was just relaxed. I’m glad we went here.
First time being thier and it was good .
Nice setting, great service, mediocre food
Great setting and the service is quick. Food is good, with nice fresh catch of the day!
We had a reservation for 7 people today. I was there early to tell that we need a nice seat because we have two people will 82 and 83 years old and we wanted to be seated in a nice area. They assured me the table. While we had a drink outside at the bar and waited 5 Minutes until our friends showed up the table was given away to a girls party of 30 people who just showed up. We had to sit at the bar with our party in the uncomfortable seats. Nobody felt sorry.
I am living just across the street from Pops but I will never go there again. Thanks Pops.
My husband and I stopped in today for a late lunch. The Best part of our lunch was the view from our table inside.. I ordered a cheeseburger and my husband ordered the black bean burger. When our food was brought to our table it was handed to us over a railing. The server did not even come to our table. The burgers were the worst we’ve ever had. Our waiter never returned to our table until he brought the check. Fortunately I had enough loyalty points so I we didn’t have to pay the bill. It was a very disappointing experience.
Buyer beware. We ordered a shrimp basket. I don’t know about anyone else. But where we are from a “basket” means shrimp AND fries. I didn’t read the description. Only the end of it, where it said, choice of ededamine salad or cole slaw. So I told our waitress that we would have the cole slaw. When we get our basket. It had no fries and only 7 shrimp instead of 8. I asked for an additional shrimp. And asked about the fries. She said the basket has a choice of fries, salad, or cole slaw. This, to me, is a complete rip-off. We also had the oysters Rockefeller. The market price was $26. This is out and out gouging. Needless to say, we will never be back. Plus, the food was not that good. Shrimp was stringy. The oysters rockfeller was mediocre. The night before, we went to the Paradise Grill restaurant. We both had the seafood basket. It was absolutely wonderful. Clams, shrimp, oysters, a nice piece of fish with fries, and the cole slaw was included. It was only .50 cents more than the shrimp we had at pops.
12. Palm Strings Quartet
Address: 100 W Venice Ave, Venice, FL 34285 , Nokomis , Florida , United States
10/10 recommend. Responsive, attentive and accommodating to my playlist requests. The musician was nicely synced and I could easily make out what she was playing. It could have been a little louder, but I am overall satisfied with the performance. My guests enjoyed a violin on the beach.
13. Goodwill Manasota – Retail Store & Donation Center
Address: 2210 N Tamiami Trail, Nokomis, FL 34275 , Nokomis , Florida , United States
This is my favorite Goodwill location by far. Everytime I walk in I am happily greeted. I feel very welcomed and I never leave empty handed. The prices are spot on and the staff is amazing. Also the store is always very clean and tidy, I appreciate that a lot. I will continue to shop here.
5.00.
Blue jeans 🙂
We found us an Awesome clock, a great looking standup lamp. We love Thrifting and this goodwill did not disappoint!
Love Goodwill! Can be a little frustrating though because the sizes tend to be more mixed up here than in Sarasota stores. Also, boutique item prices are too high.
They had absolutely no selection nothing at all for clothes Electronics the place was empty
No selection whatsoever
Small store with very high prices and little selection. Every thrift store in the area is better than here.

Was gracious and patient enough to identify a mark on a Chinese vase for me. Thank you.
Mr Don Elder was very knowledgeable and helpful in appraisaling my grandmother’s estate. If you are looking for someone honest and truthful I highly recommend him.
Don came out to look at our antiques and was extremely helpful. Very knowledgeable and fair. He was a pleasure to work with and we were very happy with the results.
Good place
Contacted them about a painting I wanted appraised, I recieved an email back asking for photos. Photos of the painting were sent.. did not recieve reply 3 days after photos were sent. Another email was sent from my end asking if they were interested.. and never got a reply. No communication for over a week. Disappointing.
19. Artistic Flair Studio
Address: 401 Laurel Rd E, Nokomis, FL 34275 , Nokomis , Florida , United States
It is a wonderful studio that offers many reasonably priced workshops. It also offers potters a space to create work in an open studio atmosphere.
Took a resin class today. Such a fun experience. Jennie and her daughter were awesome teachers.
Such a quaint studio! I’ve made several art projects so far! The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and so helpful! I have no artistic abilities but each time I’ve walked away with “little works of art” that I’m so proud of! The owners are wonderful people too! They offer such a variety of projects and classes – there is something for everyone!!!
