This is a gem of a guitar shop. Their website doesn’t do the store justice. They have so much cool gear that comes in and gets sold before it makes it to the website. You HAVE to go in! You’ll thank me later.
The staff is knowledgeable and very accommodating without ever being pushy. If you’re a guitarist in Atlanta, this is a must!
Knowledgeable staff, solid gear.
Ok people
Always has good stuff.
Great selection of guitars and amps, great staff
They weren’t very friendly or helpful with what I was looking for. Their prices are actually higher than most other places I’ve been in. My advice would be to shop for your musical items somewhere else.
Bought a mic cord there a few months back , tried to return it but they said it wasn’t theirs, no receipt,
I know it came from Atlanta Discount, the guy acted like I was some kind of criminal,
I’m 59 years old, been playing for 50 years, don’t need the disrespect man, no wonder Guitar Center is kicking their ass
It’s a neat store. It’s a small local place with a somewhat limited selection. I didn’t think the prices were all that great based on their new guitars and the staff didn’t find me interesting enough to ask me if I needed anything even though this one guy saw me coming in. Oh, well.
Got some gear evaluated for selling. It didn’t make sense for them to buy it, but they spent a lot of time evaluating and giving guidance/recommendations. Specific props to Lindsay Petsch, but they all were very helpful and friendly. Definitely recommend stopping by.
THE place for high end classical and steel string guitars in Atlanta! However, the super helpful and knowledgeable staff, make this a great place to purchase any level guitar. Also available is top notch instruction.
Best experience I’ve had in ANY store in over a decade! It took me over 2 hours to pick just the right guitar because there were so many beautiful examples in my price range. Was treated with courtesy, kindness and patience and did not feel pressured at all.
Wish I could give 10 stars instead of 5 – Maple Street will always be my go to store in the future, even though it’s over 2 hours away definitely worth the trip!
Cool store, guitar, ukulele, mandolin, harmonica, great service.
Great place to go and buy guitar or amp. Howerver if you are handicap you are in trouble. You have to have someone to help you get in the store and out. Don’t no about rest rooms I hope they take care of that.
This place is essential for anyone who plays acoustic guitar, is looking to take up the instrument, or is looking for lessons.
Insane prices and super weird about handling merchandise. To get into the shop you have to ring a doorbell and wait for someone to come open the door like it’s a jewelers vault.
To actually try out a guitar, they make you go through the most ridiculous process imaginable. You find an associate, ask to play a specific guitar, wait for them to take it off the rack, then play it, wait for them to put it back, ask for another, repeat. We’re not children here guys — if I can’t be trusted to take a guitar off a hanger then what would make you think I have $2400 for a Chinese Les Paul copy?
The guys working there seem decently knowledgeable and are very friendly, but Jesus what a pain to shop!
I was very excited to check this store out based on the reviews online. I drove over an hour to browse the store to see what they had in stock. Unfortunately, I did not find the staff to be friendly. While walking around, I had not be spoken to. I passed three workers who were talking behind the front desk who just looked at me while browsing. When I went into their electric guitar room, one staff member quickly followed but not to help. The man just looked at things on the wall and shelves next to me without saying a word. This threw me off, he was clearly just watching me. I went back to the other room where he very soon followed. Why was this man following me around so closely? I then paused and looked at him as he was pretending to browse on this side of the store now. He was peeping up to look at me over here as well. There were many other customers in the store. Yet I seemed to have been singled out. Not to be helped but to be monitored for suspicious activity. I’ve worked in retail before and it was obvious. This place made me incredibly uncomfortable and upset. I will not be returning and I feel they would be pleased for whatever reason.
High end guitars with an attitude to match.

1000 times better than Guitar Center! They only sell items that are %!
Very nice people. They also have used equipment. Worth checking out.
Owner was very helpful and honest.
Moved to building behind original.
Bought a guitar from them over eBay. Liars and Cheats!! Couldn’t recommended any less.
Update: Since they chose to respond with their inflammatory perspective… The guitar purchased from Miller’s Music on their eBay account was described as completely functional. A tuning peg was broken, the switches were not functional, there was excessive feedback, and it arrived damaged. In addition, it was described as “exactly year 1960” when this model wasn’t even produced until 1965, and even then, not with these features. It appears to be from 1968.
They say they have proof, I also have proof of all these things which I have provided them with. They have been rude and inappropriate during the whole transaction.
Look out for counterfeit items. Who Dat!
Awful

Staff are super friendly and personable. Vinyl selection is extensive and the guitars look amazing. I’ll definitely be back soon!
Friendly and professional atmosphere, great instrument selection, stellar customer service.
One of the best new guitar / luthier / repair shops in Atlanta!
This is a great shop!! Russ contacted me on a Craigslist post that I made. I live in the metro Detroit area, his shop is in Georgia, he made me a reasonable offer on one of my guitars. Paid me instantly thru PayPal, he emailed me a shipping label, I boxed up the guitar and sent it out the same day. Probably one of the most smooth transactions I’ve had in the whole guitar business, and I buy and sell a lot. Thank you Russ for the great hospitality, and customer service. Look forward to doing business with you in the future. Thanks A+++++
Friendly and professional. Offer a fair price and paid promptly
Beautiful collection of guitars on sale and consignment, plus a pretty decent record shop!
The staff was very friendly and very attentive. All the gear seems to be in great condition, but overall the prices are a too high for this musician’s budget. Watch out for that undisclosed “checkout fee” 😉
Went to Big House for son’s 24th birthday present: his first ever guitar. Unfortunately this is not the place for that. If you’re not an experienced guitarist, expect to get dropped like a hot potato.
Disregard, disrespect and unprofessional…
I had a horrible experience at this store. They told me it would take 7 days to change the strings and when I went to get the guitar it was just as I left it. They didn’t even touch the guitar.
I wanted to buy a Gibson and didn’t buy it because of my bad experience. They missed an opportunity for additional business, and I will never visit this store again.
I do, however, recommend Maple Street Guitars which in my opinion is the best guitar shop in GA. I was very happy with my experience there! They`re professionals.
I don’t like writing negative reviews and try to work it out in good faith before. I spent a LARGE sum of money on instruments at Big House Guitars and got burnt. Upon the inspection I (luckily!!) requested, the $$$$$ vintage Les Paul turned out not to be true to representation (only 1 PAF pickup instead of two … oops, sorry for the mix up!). I still decided to proceed and worked out a deal including several trade in instruments. They simply didn’t honor it: I received one guitar with cracks, which they half-assedly tried to pin on UPS before telling me it was like that when I tried it… Nice! They never took my guitars agreed as trade-ins, leaving me on the hook for selling them… I called Russ the store owner many times, who ghosted me, leaving me to receiv lip service by email from the crew. VERY disappointed. It’s a cool shop and the guys seem friendly. But sadly, I wouldn’t buy anything ever again from them. BUYER BEWARE.

There has been a times in my life that I’ve had to turn away from things I wanted to do, things I wanted to have and things I wanted to contribute to. While I tell myself it’s ok, I’m not in as desperate of circumstances as some, it can still be a little soul crushing.
My first session with Audrey was great! I felt drawn to her teaching style and she seems very comfortable as an instructor. I can tell she has been doing this a while. I am looking fwd to my further session with her.
With these interesting times, I decided to take up the guitar. As a novice, I did a little guitar research and then decided to buy local. I used the online ordering option and picked out a student guitar. By the end of the day I was contacted by TR.

These guys were so helpful. I was looking for something oddly specific and while they didn’t have a lot of what I was looking for they knew where I could look to find it. And went out of their way to help me. It was a gift for a friend who is a musician and he loved it as the records I gave him are the exact style of music he’s playing at one of his next gigs. He was thrilled to get them! Thanks to the staff!
Friendly folks and interesting records. Looking forward to coming back and checking the new records they have out, too.
A great record collection and great staff. One of the best record stores ive been too. They have some great guitars as well. If your looking for a vinyl they probably have it. Highly reccomend this place.
Great vinyl selectin of jazz. R&B and rock. Affordable cuts and collectors level records in stocks, and the staff pretty cool.
Also If you’re hunting for a guitar or need one tuned you’re going to live this place. Making the souls who worked in “Showcase Video” happy.
13. Noar LLC

Update: Allen Organ contacted me to explain that Google does not provide the option to publish that visits are by appointment only.
Previous review: Online profile says open 24 hours a day. Drove to the office to see some organs. On the door is a note: By Appointment Only. Disappointed with wasted trip.
15. Atlanta Musicians Exchange
Address: 2619 Lawrenceville Hwy, Decatur, GA 30033 , North Atlanta , Georgia , United States
Mike and Bryan have the best attitude and most expertise in the city. I cant go anywhere else and feel like I am getting the same service. They will make you happy no matter what you are looking for.
They were very friendly and patient and helped me find what I was looking for.
Great place!
The repair shop sucks
I found the owner to be very unfriendly. I will shop elsewhere. I don’t like to feel like I am bothering someone when I’m spending my money.
Do not email these people. I emailed them about a guitar to trade. They responded a week and a half later with a rude email from someone named Mike saying they couldn’t view my link (by this time, I had already traded the guitar to someone). I told them I had traded the guitar already because they took a week and a half to respond. Mike then responded with an even ruder email implying that my guitar was probably junk anyway (it was actually a nice vintage copy of an ES-335). Absolutely atrocious customer service; should be avoided at all costs. I was looking forward to shopping there whether they wanted the guitar or not; I am now taking my business to Guitar Center and Music-Go-Round.
16. Sam Ash Music Stores
Address: 2999 Cobb Pkwy, Atlanta, GA 30339 , North Atlanta , Georgia , United States
Ricardo was very knowledgeable and helped me get started on my passion for singing!
Nice guys
So to begin.. my Crate Amp Head was fixed at the Sam Ash in NY, I moved to Georgia for a career promotion, Sam Ash shipped my Crate Amp Head to Sam Ash in Atlanta, where I picked it up, so here it is… 1st – I was not charged shipping, they knocked that off the bill 2nd – I bought a $100 Korg Rack Tuner, they knocked $10 off, 3rd – bought a 3ft cable for $12, they knocked $2 off. 4th – a knob however was not fixed/ replaced on my Crate Amp Head, but the manager, threw in a pair of knobs at no charge! Awesome! The customer service and staff were all super cool and super friendly. They did allow me to try out my Amp Head before I began to check out. Thank you to the staff and manager at the Sam Ash in Atlanta, GA!!!
Alax was a welth of knowledge and his music experience was a great benefit to my visit thank you
Very helpful knowledgeable staff. Nice selection, slightly limited guitar selection compared to NYC but good nonetheless.
Good attention poor stock only cheap / entry level stuff
Samash has fallen off. Service suck. Couldn’t hook anything up to test used speaker. They didn’t know the price of anything. I’ve spent so much money in that place over 25 years. Unfortunately it will end today. I went right down to guitar center and got what I wanted with good service.
The customer service is very poor in this store! I walked around the entire store for 30mintes and no one asked to see if I needed help.
I ordered a new Roland keyboard, but received a used one with scratches and dust packed in a Yamaha box.
I went to the nearest store which is a 30-minute drive away from my house for a return and they said I ordered a used one according to an order number. They didn’t apologize nor try to understand the situation. They were very rude from the beginning to the end of the returning process. Finally they checked the website and realized they messed up (I clearly ordered a new one and they sent an used one with UR-Used Roland, order number.)
The service I experienced was horrible and the way they treated me was terrible.
17. Cooper Piano
Address: 1610 NE Expy NE, Atlanta, GA 30329 , North Atlanta , Georgia , United States
Great piano store with great products and great staff.
Mr. Blake Cooper was amazing as always
I was greeted by Kyle and he was very helpful. My wife and I are not knowledgable about pianos. Kyle made it easy and showed us exactly what we were looking for. We BOUGHT OUR FIRST PIANO!!!!
GREAT selection? Absolutely. Customer service? Lacking. Next door to Cooper Piano, there’s a Yahama distributor, and the sales associates there are incredibly friendly, supportive, and knowledgeable!
While the selection is ok, the staff at this location are awfully rude. Unless you are 100% interested in purchasing a piano it is in your best interest to not show up.
Ever watched that scene from the movie “Pretty Woman” where Julia Roberts is completely disregarded or taken seriously by the salesmen based off of her looks? Well that is the exact way me and my fiancé were made to feel upon entering Cooper piano. From the start, I felt like an inconvenience to the salesman and given that there were ZERO customers in the store and five salesmen, including one woman with a snide look on her face, just sitting around, that is quite ridiculous. Me and my fiancé had just traveled all the way from Nashville to look at pianos. Needless to say, we might have been a touch disheveled. I am a serious player and while I may not have looked too important at the time, I am able to drop several thousand on a piano given that I find the one that best suits my needs. I even have one that I am interested in trading and the offer made to me, sight unseen, was insulting! That offer was even made by the owner of the store. To top it off, once the saleman found out that I was a serious buyer, both he and the owner began to try and shame me into believing that I was getting a very good deal on an offer they made for a piano I was interested in. I am not an idiot. I play piano professionally and I am very particular about the instruments that I purchase. I currently own four pianos. While at Cooper piano, I did find one that was an excellent instrument. One that I am, or was, seriously considering buying. That being said, as much as I love the piano, I refuse to give my business to such inconsiderate, rude, and completely disrespectful salesmen. I played dumb, because that’s what they wanted. But all the while, I knew I was being fed a load of bull! Salesmen at this store will clearly tell you whatever they want in order to get the sale. I think that every single one of them needs to have a lesson in southern etiquette and how to look and act professionally towards their customers. After all, this is the south and there is a right and wrong way to treat people. Especially if you want to do business.
Take it from someone who has been into countless pianos stores all across the country and has played hundreds of pianos while dealing with dozens of salesmen. Do yourself a favor. Go somewhere else.

Un buen lugar para disfrutar en familia
Pésimo lugar no venden discos ,porque se llama discolandia entonces?
Te venden todo bien caro.
Im waiting 40 minutes outside… they are supposed to open at 11am!! very irresponsible! it is a very little serious business
