My husband and I went in looking to get a ukulele. We knew absolutely nothing about them except that we wanted to learn to play. Luckily we were met by a wonderfully knowledgeable staff (Ash was great) that not only explained the differences between the ukuleles and helped us select one that we liked, but also taught us a few chords right there in the store.
I can honestly say that this was one of the best buying experiences I’ve ever had. It can be pretty intimidating trying to purchase something that you know absolutely nothing about, but Ash made the experience enjoyable. He made us feel at home, gave us all the information we needed to make an informed decision, and didn’t try to pressure us into any other purchases.
I wish every store I went to did things like these guys.

I love to visit the Penny Lane Emporium! The ambience of the store when I walk in gives me just that warm fuzzy feeling of a cozy down home “pickin’ parlor”! The wide selection of quality musical instruments and accessories, combined with a dedicated and knowledgeable teaching staff makes it a great “one stop music shop” for pro and beginner alike. I especially enjoy the monthly (first Thursday) bluegrass jam sessions where fellow musicians can gather to play and exchange musical ideas in a fun and relaxed setting. Regardless of your musical skill level, you can have a wonderful time pickin’ and singin’ at The Penny Lane Emporium!
Owner seems like an honest guy but do NOT use for repairs of Digital Pianos. I was charged 95 dollars for a repair and as you can see in the photos the the key of A is clearly not aligned so it still does not play properly. They sent the piano out to be fixed and the repair guy wanted an ADDITIONAL 30 dollars for a part to fix it. Total cost would be 125.00 to make the repair. Charging 95 dollars and giving me back a piano that still does not work is unacceptable. This is NOT the place to take your digital piano for repairs. I can not speak for any other aspect of the store other than the Owner does seem like genuine guy.
*****Addition*** To respond to the owners reply I now have to take back my assessment of him as honest because I was certainly never told you would fix it at no charge other than the part or I would have agreed, You should have just let the review stand and not thrown in a lie to try and make yourself look better. If you’re willing to lie once you will certainly do it again. I recommend EVERYONE take their business elsewhere.

I went to Penny Lane about a week or so ago and spoke to Trey about
music lessons for my children . This Tuesday Armando called me to tell
me it was 6:30 and he was wondering where the children were for their
music lessons. I told him there was nothing ever schelduled. He says
he talked to me the last Monday and called me to confirm their appts
for this past Tuesday I told him I most certainly did not speak to him nor
did I scheldule any appts for my children I was however awaiting a call
back from Trey. He asked me what I was going to do about this ? I said well
let’s scheldule for next Tuesday he said yes if I would like to pay for the cancelled
appt I never made I told him no why would I pay for something I never scheduled
nor did I ever sign a contract. So are we going to make it for next Tuesday and
Armando said no I don’t think so and hung up. What is that? How can he expect
pmt for lessons I never schelduled?! I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone!
I went to this store last month to buy a new bow for my violin. Because the one that was in the case was very damaged. So when I get to the store they tell me that their bows are out of stock and to come back within a month while they order so more bows. So I came back in a months time, and bought a carbon fiber bow which was very expensive compared to the traditional violin bows. So when I made the purchase the store clerk takes the bow out of the plastic bag it came in and he put it in the case. I got home and opened the case to get the bow out and it had broken. I was so angry and very dissatisfied with the very Cheap quality of the pretty expensive item. I would just be very cautious when dealing with this company!

Reminds me of the old record stores where you have to dig through the crates to find gems. Employees are helpful as well.
We decided to go on a vinyl quest one Saturday and We Got the Beats was the second stop on quest. WGTB is a small, cozy little store with a pretty decent selection. A large portion of the inventory is taken up with re-issues and some collectors pieces. there are two large tables full of used records from various decades. Like the other record shop in FtL, WGTB focuses on dance and new releases with country being shoved into where ever it fits. The owner obviously has a love of 80s New wave as there is quite an ample selection of discs from my misspent youth. The owner opened up his storeroom fro us to dig around in the stacks of 45s which had not made the cut (45s being a select market). We’d go back, It’s a cute place.

Go elsewhere, the gentleman at the front is rude and he acts like his records are the top of line and honestly he doesn’t really have a good collection.
Odd experience. Some odd good vinyl in the racks but can’t say it was a positive experience prices are high compared to most other shops, records are not protected in plastic sleeves and many in bad condition, owner refuses to give any sort of discount on major bulk buys (we are talking over $200) and frankly needs to work on basic courtesy and friendliness towards the punters. Nowadays there is a lot of competition from other physical stores and online and to be honest I found the whole experience disconcerting and frustrating. I would stick to better stores I the area such as Radioactive, Found Sound (young owner and very enthusiastic plus good stock)or Record Rack, these places have much better prices and a much friendlier experience overall.Disappointing and needs massive improvement.
Cold greeting from the front clerk, was very short on his answers to my question. But all in all a very good selection of music…

Its been months since the owner purchased a piano from us, however after countless phone calls asking where payment is, and reassurances each time, it’s either ‘on it’s way’, or ‘about to be sent’, it appears Mr. Palmer has still not fulfilled his word.

Very high storage rate and very evasive when i wantef it back (remodeling complete) Promise to call me back 4 time …didn’t Wants to sell you cleaning, tuning on and on but i simply want the piano returned. Finally a date schedule but lied saying they had a blanket insurance policy required by my building and saying it was on file. was not. Settled but then the pick up guys brought legs which were not for my piano.Should there service be COMPLETELY FREE NO WAY !
The least professional service I’ve ever experienced. I had verbally sold my spinet piano to the owner for nearly nothing after explicitly describing the condition of the piano. I was moving out of state and needed it picked up ASAP and they failed to pick it up on multiple occasions when I was guaranteed someone would be there “this time.” I left, but arranged to have someone there to let the guys in to pick it up on my final attempt and when they got there they said they wouldn’t buy it anymore but would CHARGE me $150 to dump it. At this point I’m states away and trying to re-release my apartment so I had no choice but to agree and pay for it. Not only was I deceived, but I was duped into shady business practices and what I believe is a complete POS company. NEVER sell anything to them or expect professionalism or follow through.

DO NOT recommend! Guitar was shipped with no protection in two boxes that had been cut to fit and taped together, only one small piece of styrofoam in the bottom. The guitar arrived broken and is unable to be repaired. Request for a return and refund refused.
I am dumbfounded anyone can be giving this place more than one star. Complete hack. Brought a guitar in for a routine procedure, was most sloppy, amaturish job I could ever imagine. If you value your instrument at all, avoid this place at all costs. This is not a place for serious musicians or collectors. Is a tourist hole at very best. Beware.

Called this place at 1 pm and asked the receptionist about getting an estimate on installing a new head unit in my Jeep Wrangler. She put me on hold for the installer and he asked me to come buy after 3:30 PM or 4 PM so he could see it in person. When I got there was only one person behind the counter whom was very busy doing something on the computer.
There was no eye contact, greeting or acknowledgement from the guy behind the counter as he kept gong back and forth from the counter to the back room. The gentleman in front of the counter told me he was the customer getting a quote for a complete system for his classic car. We chatted for a while I was still waiting for the guy behind the counter to at least acknowledge me.
I guess I was expecting something like “Hi I’m doing a quote for this guy and I’ll be another xx minutes do you want to wait or reschedule” would have been common courtesy. After 20 minutes of chatting with his customer I just gave up on being ignored and decided this place wasn’t interested in my business so I left. Vote with your dollars and stay away because you shouldn’t have to work so hard to give someone your money for a service.

Craig has been supplying musicians with just the right instrument for decades… Generations of guitarist I found those special instrument hanging on the walls at his shop.
He had a great collecting of rare and unusual instruments including ultra rare collectors guitars and bases.
He had a web based mailing list so you can keep up with his newest finds..

I Tried to Adjust The Sound, and Each Control Was Scratchy and Full of Static. I Sent It Back, at My Own Expense, and They Refused to Refund My Initial Shipping Cost.
