Amazing place; amazing staff. Awesome owner and outstanding instruments and gear.
We bought a Jazzmaster with active pickup (which I’d never experienced) from Dusty a few weeks back and it’s quickly become one of my favorite guitars I’ve ever owned.
Go there!
Dusty’s is amazing, love their variety, love the customer service
Great staff and made my guitars look and play like new after years and wear and tear.
Didn’t have the music stand I was looking for.
Buena ubicación, surtido de instrumentos y accesorios horario no muy bueno.
Great place, moody but very knowledgable staff
I wouldn’t recommend going in there if you are female. The guy is obviously sexiest. I walked in there WITH a guitar, with interest in buying another. He didn’t offer me to try ANY of them even after I said I would never purchase one without playing it. He totally ignored me whenever another customer would come in, called every guy customer “bro” and when I decided to purchase just some picks beyond my better judgement of giving him ANY of my business, he called me “honey.” …yeah, dude, girls DO play instruments so maybe you wanna pay more attention to them if you plan on selling them anything.
Guy was pretty unfriendly and didn’t seem to like me touching any of his guitars.
My son is mad at them. He’s the musician. He said they charged him alot for a repair and it wasn’t repaired. That’s all I know
2. Giacoletti Music Center
Address: 2110 S Coast Hwy G, Oceanside, CA 92054 , Oceanside , California , United States
My son loves taking piano at Giacoletti. He has been in lessons for about a year and a half, and we have seen his independence and confidence grow significantly. We have had a few instructors, all of whom have been excellent. Communication with the instructors and director have been easy and professional.
Giacoletti’s is a hidden treasure of a store, made up of musicians and music lovers. My kids love it. My daughter is learning violin and my son just started piano. Their instructors are so patient and talented. I couldn’t be happier.
New location and great owner! My girls take piano lessons here and are way more advanced than I was at their age! Also a great selection of ukuleles. We are planning on renting a violin for school band from here as well. Couldn’t say enough great things about Melinda!
I had purchased a ukulele that has no pegs or gears. I went here and asked how much are the pegs for the ukulele and he asked “pegs?” like I was from Pluto, yet that is a very standard question. They should not scare away potential customers. I would be happy to buy here if they showed some respect.
Great customer service! My daughter’s violin was broken and they had it sent off to be fixed right away. It took a little longer than expected, but overall the fix was done cleanly, and the people in the music store were very helpful!
Only thing wrong is that they don’t have many guitars in stock, but the ones they do have are a GREAT value, the people are great and this is a really good store if you looking for the necessities, and most of the time good conversation.
One star is one too many. Stay away from this place. “Rude owner” is an understatement. Way more interested in keeping his guitars on the wall and tuned to “e” than having potential buyers actually play the instruments (mid-level instruments, at best). He is he opposite of affable. He actually came to where I was playing and made sure that I wasn’t leaving sweat on the guitar. A first. On my way out, he asked if I had had re-tuned the guitar to e. “Yes” was my reply but I regret not saying more. Needless to say, I’ll never go back. To the owner, I suggest taking a business class, learning how to say “hi” to customers, and taking one or two classes at the local community college for some socialization. He gives the Mom-and-Pop Music Store a black eye and gave this patron the notion to speed to the nearest Guitar Center.
Very unwelcoming, one of the workers was so rude. Looks like I’ll continue shopping at guitar center.
Alright so i had violin lessons here for a month, and whenever it was my time to have the lesson, the teacher stayed overtime with their other students and then when before our lesson finished they would rush me out, i felt extremely unwelcomed and the teacher jumped around from subject to subject on what we were playing that i couldnt focus on improving anything. Overall i was discouraged from practicing for a while but now i found an amazing teacher elsewhere who ACTUALLY teaches me and i feel so much welcomed else where.
3. Coastal Music
Address: 1006 Mission Ave Suite E, Oceanside, CA 92054 , Oceanside , California , United States
When you walk into Coastal Music Studios you feel like family. Andy and Pam the owners are the most wonderful, kind, patient, supportive people and have excellent service. Anytime we need to change dates of his class due to conflicts they go above and beyond to help. They even call other parents to adjust for you. They are flexible and always available.
The studio has an open feeling and when you sit inside you definitely get the students and music is what’s important. We have been going to Coastal Music almost two years. Our son had no previous lessons and I am blown away at how much he has learned. He especially loves playing in the showcases. He got to be the closing act a couple of times. Which shows you how much he improved in order to be chosen for that spot.
Our sons guitar teacher is David and he has such a kind, loving, silly way about him. He really connects with our son. They choose music together, sometimes because our son loves it or maybe because David brought it up. He’s played The Beatles, and Leonard Cohen. Best thing though is they encourage Jeremiah to create his own music. He has played two of his own original songs in performances. Our son even picked up the Ukulele and plays it now. He wants to try drums and acoustic guitar next. All of this shows you how Coastal Music fosters passion.
I would recommend this family owned studio to everyone
Our family has experienced many music studios and music teachers and this place is by far the best!
Pam and Andy are awesome! My daughters take piano lessons with Pam and are members of the FREE choir they provide for anyone who wants to join. They are very generous and provide our kids with a safe and fun environment. Not to mention that all the teachers are very talented and are great mentors to the kids. I highly recommend Coastal Music Studios.
4. Steel Guitars of North County
Address: 3375 Mission Ave, Oceanside, CA 92058 , Oceanside , California , United States
Word’s cannot describe the coolness of the place. Great products and Steel’s available here too.
I talked with one of the managers/owners friend and this is a must visit place if you are a guitar enthusiast. They are so passionate and do not care about money at all. It’s a small shop but the history and the famous guitarist from all over the world would come.
Have a chat with him, it’s worth more than the goods.
AC: Yes
Wifi: No
Customer Service: 5/5
Jim is a great Steel Guitar mechanic and a great guy as well . He went the extra mile with my guitar .
5. Oceanside Music Supply
Address: 228 S Coast Hwy, Oceanside, CA 92054 , Oceanside , California , United States
Owner was wicked cool. I will keep going to find more music.
This shop is has all the Oceanside charm with everything you need. Doesn’t matter if you are just starting a collection or have been a collector for years, you’ll find what you need. The organization helps with what you’re looking for so you’re not wasting time like most shops.
You can tell the owner is a local with his good vibe conversation and his support of others in the community. He carry local artist work and merchandise.
Highly recommended!!!
Mostly old, dusty records and some other swag. Needs an update to the inventory
Good vibe. Nice collection. However, they need to expand the store if they want to attract more customers. I am CD man and that is all I look for. Unfortunately, almost half of the CD collection was put of site in a box under the bin. That is bad for a customer. And even worse for the owner. The main focus is on LP’s.
Great source for records, no other record player parts
Half the reviews talk about the cool owner and great selection. The other half talk about them being closed when they said they’d be open. I’m in the – “I wish they were open” club. Don’t waste your time here. There are plenty of other places to spend your record store dollars
Came all the way out to check it out and they were not open during the posted hours, with no explanation. Yet another lackadaisical business model.
Not open during, “open” hours. Make sure you call before.
