Wonderful Store. The prices and the products were Fantastic! This store actually has products and prices that make using internet purchases obsolete. You can shop here and find things that compete with internet prices. But here you can get your purchase immediately from helpful people that are well versed in their products. Way to Go!
I came to this store for to have my violin restrung, and Tim, one of the team members there, was super kind and very helpful in his recommendations. I commend Tim for going further in his excellent customer service, as he took some time to help me fix my violin case as well. The store’s atmosphere is very friendly and the staff have a wealth of knowledge for instruments. Thanks, Tim!
Brought in a finicky Martin guitar that had dried and was frustrating to play. John and Dan restored the guitar in a way I did not think possible. We could not be more pleased. Excellent and very professional job. Thx cp
I love all the products but at times the service was bad, other visits there were good service. Thanks!
Went to purchase a Swart amp. Was told I could not use the washroom after driving for 1hr. Needless to say I didn’t buy anything. NOT CUSTOMER FRIENDLY!
In defense of my friend Aidan, most things you are accusing of us aren’t true. Yes we took a bass and a guitar off without asking. We were not aware of that rule because this was our first time trying out guitars at this store. Your associates did everything with the amps. They are the ones who had the volume up high. Only 3 of the 4 of us played guitars, and only two amps were available. I was cut off in the middle of a solo by your employee so that someone else could use it. Every few minutes we were asked if we would buy the guitar. I’m aware as a small business you need people to buy but di you expect a few 17 year olds to drop $500-1000 within 30 min of finding a guitar? We need things like strings and picks and wanted to buy local. After the pressure we recieved, we left without buying anything. So yes, maybe guitar center is better fit for us.
The owner was outraged when i returned a crappy guitar I bought. He even started yelling when i did not purchase a different one….
3. Lettuce Play
Address: 1300 Ravinia Pl, Orland Park, IL 60462 , Orland Hills , Illinois , United States
Bill is a great instructor with a well of knowledge. Patience but expects you to hold up your end as a student. Many years of experience and eager to share it
My son received piano and drum instruction from Mr. Bill. He was very patient with my then, 8 year old son and my son grew to love music because of it. My son is a talker and often would shift focus to things other than the instruction. Like a seasoned father and grandfather, Mr. Bill would engage in the conversation allowing my son to feel heard, then, gently nudge him back to the lesson.
Mr. Bill never made us feel like he didn’t have time or like we were on the clock. I know that he is running a business and has appointments at certain times, which he was always punctual to, but somehow he always made us feel like we were people and not just customers. I truly believe he cares about what he does and ensuring that clients have the best experience when they interact with him. My son (now 17 y/o) still plays the piano. We changed instructors because Lettuce Play was just too far from our house. But, I highly recommend Lettuce Play. And I wish Mr. Bill the best!

I take lessons here and tge service is spot on and everyone is nice. Great place.
Excellent people to work with! I bought a drum set, guitar, amp head and speaker cab. All great deals.
Lovely staff and manager!
Staff’s kind n’ “mentorly” (that’s a word, right?). They mostly sell guitars, but I have seen a drum set, an accordion, and a few keyboards there too. Not very traditional in their approach to teaching instruments, they don’t really go over music theory. If you’re looking for a laid back approach to learning guitar, drums, etc, you’ve got a good chance here.
Waste of time.
My son has been learning piano with them for almost a year. Their teachers are also unstable. The working teacher also has a bad attitude. It’s a very bad experience!
I stopped by this shop recently to inquire about music lessons for my 7 year old son. I was greeted by the owner who had his face mask dangling half off of his face. You would think that during a global pandemic the owner would take more care in making sure the students in his care are safe, this guy can’t even wear a mask correctly. Also, all the instruments they had for sale looked cheap.
5. Axes Music Group

The best. Whatever you need, just go talk to them…
Words cannot describe the incredible service Axes Music has provided me for years. Not only have the incredible talented staff taught me how to play many instruments, they have carefully guided me into a career in music which I absolutely love. This business is absolutely incredible and each and every member of their staff is extremely talented, and very friendly. Overall Axes Music is the place to go for music lessons, instrument service, and professional recording.

Amazing place for DVDs and even games from the past along with game systems
Exclusive pops
I came in to get my games resurfaced & they worked after I dropped them off & picked them up none of them worked i highly recommended to not come get you’re disc cleaned
They try to give you 50 cent’s a movie and sell it for $10 or up it’s ridiculous
They lowball almost as bad as a pawn shop if you are selling anything to them.
7. Music Go Round
Address: 9192 W 159th St, Orland Park, IL 60462 , Orland Hills , Illinois , United States
I play a few instruments, so i’ve been to a few music stores. I have to say that Music Go Round is by far my favorite thus far. All the used instruments had tons of character, as did the guys working there. The prices were beyond reasonable, and i left wanting to go back soon.
Music Go Round is closed now. 🙁 I’ve been going to MGR for years. It’s sad to see it gone by my company Evolution Music is trying to reopen the store as a second Evolution Music location. In the meantime you can visit our current location only 2 miles away at 157th and Harlem. We do the exact same thing and more. We buy sell trade new and used gear, offer lessons, recording studio, book shows, and offer band rehearsal space! Come check us out!
they get some cool instruments in, and some of the staff at least is great, but this place is pretty shady. Took items in on consignment, but NEVER EVER paid me back for them, regardless of the complaints filed.
