This is an awesome experience! Super friendly and treats you like family
Their very closed mouthed about the fish and fishing. Ask what colors to try and no reply, just abunch of questions fired back at me. Their still getting my money when I buy lures or bait from them?!
OVER BOOKED THEMSELVES AND CANCELED OUR TRIP AFTER IT WAS SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN.
Booked a month in advance for a Thursday. Week of our guide calls and wants to move the trip to saturday due to weather. We reluctantly agreed. On Thursday morning we came into the shop to pick up some tackle to fish on foot and were told that the guide we talked to was out running a trip ( weird since our trip was moved due to weather but whatever). We left a phone number and asked for him to call us when he got off the water just looking to pick his brain a bit . We got a call back the next morning but it was the owner telling us that they did not have a guide for us anymore and that the guide we had been talking to had “been booked for a while” it was absolutely unacceptable to have a booked trip delayed and then canceled like this cost us time off work in hundreds in a hotel waiting for a trip that got canceled. I would absolutely not trust your steelhead trip with a company this unreliable.

Address: 117 E 3rd St, Moscow, ID 83843 , Orofino , Idaho , United States
What a fantastic selection of everything music! Wide collection of vinyls and CD’s at competitive prices!
This is one of the last small traditional record stores around. Dave the proprietor has an excellent knowledge of music and stocks a good variety of music. His recommendations are well worth considering. For the music aficionado this is a place worth seeking out. And if he doesn’t have what you are looking for he can usually order it in.
Small place but good selection of new and classic music. Mostly new CD and vinyl, not much used.
Solid collection, though not much variety in the vinyls section. Definitely recommend more for CDs (not my poison, personally)
cool little place! i wish the business hours were more well-known though
Waited for 20-minutes and they never opened. Check website, Google, and called and there are no notes about their hours being different. I walked away and the guy sitting in the car outside the front door walked in, relocked the door and turned on lights and still didn’t open.
4. Fiddlin’ Red’s Music
Address: 111 Church St, Sandpoint, ID 83864 , Orofino , Idaho , United States
Good ‘ol fashioned service! I broke my son’s guitar string and was in a hurry to have it fixed. Red took care of it immediately and didn’t even charge me. Shop is full of wonderful guitars! Friendly place. Will definitely be going back for any guitar needs. Thanks again, Red.
Fiddlin’ Red’s is a great place to find an honest deal and great service. I went in to see if I should have work done on a violin, long story short, I walked out with a new violin for the same cost and he played a live concert 😉 my kids still talk about it every time we go by. Thanks Red!
I take fiddle lessons from Red, there affordable and REALLY helpful. Also he has some really neat instruments in his shop. Go check them out!
5. NW Music
Address: 6055 N Sunshine St, Coeur d’Alene, ID 83815 , Orofino , Idaho , United States
Very helpful staff. They helped me find exactly what I needed, which was good because they have such a large selection of musical instruments I could have been overwhelmed. The young man who helped me explained the differences in performance as well as price, without pressuring me to purchase.
I will buy all my music needs here!!
Been searching for a plane to install a pick up on my ukulele. Called several spots though only Matt at NMC picked up the phone! Very knowledgeable and friendly which is exactly what I’m looking for! I will travel three hours from where I live to go to someone I trust! This was over the phone!
Very helpful in finding items for your instruments. The instruction is top drawer.
4 stars because they do have a great selection, prices are fair, and the store is very clean and organized. The staff at first seemed helpful but then seemed impatient, as I was asked if I was ready to check out while I was still looking at guitars with an item in my hand. Caught me off guard as I felt rushed after only being in the store a couple minutes and wasn’t near the register. Other than that, they have a great selection of beautiful guitars and quality gear.
I came in a week ago to look around before I bought anything the people were nice and friendly and when I came back today I was ignored and treated like I didn’t exist so instead of buying a electric guitar and bundle you guys get this review and to the 4-5 people working there at the time it’s beyond rude to ignore someone then try to say something as there are leaving I felt discriminated against this was a first.
Edit
What a joke he didn’t say anything don’t try lying and make it seem like a misunderstanding. I wasn’t alone, so instead of lying and blaming me, look at your employees and try to figure out why they didn’t greet me or ask if I needed help.
I can only review the store in terms of the musical lessons. My daughter signed up for lessons and was given a start date of a month out. We showed up for the first lesson but there was no instructor. The front desk called the instructor who was on his way in for the appointment after ours. I was told I had to wait for the instructor to arrive before rescheduling. I accepted that there is a paperwork mix-up and rescheduled for the next week. Appointment attempt number two went fine. The instructor was on time and my daughter appreciated his efforts. However, lesson attempt number 3, resulted in no instructor again. This time I talk to the manager and she was slightly apologetic. Though I had emailed with the instructor previously, she claimed they could not contact me because they did not have a phone number. After a 66% no no-show rating I decided I’d had enough with the place. Your results may differ, and I hope they do. I have no doubt that if I would have missed appointments I still would have been billed for the time. But they had no respect for my time.
One star is too many. I realized after opening the package that I accidentally bought 12-string guitar strings. When I tried to exchange them for the more suitable 6 strings, I was told that once they were open, the sale is final. Speaking of final, that was my last purchase at this store.

PS– Having no use for the strings, I donated them to the store.
6. Wilburn Custom Shop
Address: 118-B N 2nd Ave, Sandpoint, ID 83864 , Orofino , Idaho , United States
This is the greatest little guitar shop! The Wilburns are extremely knowledgeable about all things guitar. They, build, tweak, tune, and do just about everything you can imagine at the highest level. I highly recommend them to anyone looking to buy a guitar or just wanting to talk shop.
Bought a guitar case for our son here because the one we ordered online somewhere didn’t fit. Sarah was very helpful fitting one to the smaller size. About a month later, we came in to buy new strings. Sarah was very knowledgeable, pointing us to the right strings and stringing the acoustic guitar for us in less than 15 minutes. This friendly local family-owned shop is where will be coming for all our guitar needs in the future!
Scott did a great job repairing the neck and frets on my strat. Friendly, knowledgeable, and honest service. This is a well stocked music store for any musician.
Make sure dad is there before going in, they can’t take are debit or credit card unless daddy is there. Went in twice with no luck, this is why people shop on the internet, ugh so annoyed
I recently bought a guitar and case and spent a good chunk of money. When I got home I was looking at the invoice and noticed they snuck in 3% fee on top of the 7% in taxes! This fee was for not paying in cash. The invoice said there is a 3% charge for debit or credit. This was an extra $20.46 that they did not tell me about. If I had known this, I would have paid cash. I was so excited about my new guitar I didn’t check the invoice before leaving. Plus, who does that! It reminds me of sleazy car dealership tactics to pad their profit hoping you don’t notice. It really surprised me they get away with this in such a small town. I will be going to Couer d’Alene for my guitar needs now. And like another post said, the vibe there is not good.
Family owned and ran by father daughter, won’t help you if you have cheap guitar and, supper opinionated about Taylor’s. Wish it could be cooler but does not pass vibe check.

8. Rick’s Music
Address: 915 W Flamingo Ave, Nampa, ID 83651 , Orofino , Idaho , United States
Rick did a killer job setting up my guitars. Even brought some life back to an old electric I had from my uncle. He made a bridge and got it up and playing. Super impressed. This is coming
Great service small shop extremely friendly would definitely recommend to any and all guitar players
I went in with no clue about guitars. Rick was really nice and hooked me up with a nice guitar and amp. Instant 5 stars!
I had Rick set up my guitar. He did a Fantastic job. Fast and reliable. One day service. I would Recommend him all who needs guitar service. AAA++++
Rick is a great guy, and there’s always a gem or two hanging on the wall. Good prices, too!
Last Saturday I took my most prized possession to Rick, I paid to have a set up and new strings put on my Epiphone Les Paul 1960 Tribute pro. When I got it home I pulled it out and wanted to play it. I noticed right off the bat that Rick took a Utility knife or some other tool and shaved off the binding all around the fret board The fret board has gouges all the way around and the frets stick out and gouge your fret hand when you try to play it. My guitar is completely ruined! I haven’t slept in several days I’m so pissed. I in no way implied, asked for or mentioned that he do this to my guitar. I can’t even open the case it makes me so sick! I would not recommend Rick to anyone again. Rudy Rodriguez Nampa Idaho
9. Monkeyman Music
Address: 135 N 3rd E St, Mountain Home, ID 83647 , Orofino , Idaho , United States
Dropped two guitars off to get some maintenance taken care of. Can’t be happier with the service! Both guitars play like new, the turn around was great, and the price was even better. I also love the fact they are open to 8pm!!!
Calling this establishment “mediocre” would be too much of a compliment. My brother went in to ask if the man had any guitar parts and was treated like an inconvenience. The man had his back to him the whole time, was very dry and rude and had awful customer service overall, once my brother asked about guitar lessons though is when the man perked up and became chatty. Only when money was in the conversation was he interested. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.
10. Dorsey Music, Nampa
Address: 1231 Caldwell Blvd, Nampa, ID 83651 , Orofino , Idaho , United States
Great place and awesome people! They are always super helpful and have the best instruments in town.
The team at this store is a wealth of knowledge! The trusted shop f9r professional to student violinists and fiddlers!
Great. Perfect. The way it should be.
Impressive product selection.
Good knowledgeable staff.
Great selection pricey
The Nampa store is horribly unorganized. I ordered parts for a guitar project and they were supposed to call me. 4 weeks later I go in and no one knows anything. Dorsey, you just lost my business. Horrible service.
Ok customer service could use better skills and there prices are kinda expensive compared to American Music and Guitar Center really not the best music shop
On several occasions, have I entered the store to try and possibly buy guitars, and every time I am treated terribly. I am 14 years old and have been playing guitar for 3 years, no matter what though, I am constantly treated as a child and told basic beginner tips. Even after telling them how long I’ve been playing they continue to tell me 1st year tricks. Just to add to that, they constantly try to sell me stuff I don’t want or need. Upon telling them I’m not looking to buy they continue to sell amps, cables, guitars, strings, and picks. At my most recent visit, one of the employees, an older man with glasses, was selling something to a customer. My amp was at reasonable volume and wasn’t bothering anyone. Regardless, the man had told me to turn it down. I was reluctant to at first, but did so anyways because I didn’t want to bother anyone. In return, he turned his volume WAY louder than mine was, to the point where I could barely hear my amp. After two to three minutes, he told me to turn mine down some more so he could his up louder. I was in the store for only ten minutes, and immediatly felt unwelcomed. Like I said, this is not the first time this has happened. I honestly recomend taking the drive to guitar center. The employees their are much more customer friendly employees and reasonable prices.
