I got three guitars repaired there and it was a pretty hassle free experience. Overall, they are in much better condition and they all sound far better than before! That was over a year ago now and I’m thankfully much better at the guitar than I used to be!
Dave is a top notch music guy. If he doesn’t know the answer he has the resources to answer all your music questions. Also has cool stuff in the store.
Great! Hometown Music store.
Great people makes great places
2. Family Dollar
Address: 98 Cardinal Way, Parachute, CO 81635 , Parachute , Colorado , United States
Popped into this little gem on my summer road trip. It’s a lot bigger than it looks from the outside. The shop has lots of inventory and fair prices! Very friendly family run business. Recommend.
Good selection! Have found some great deals.
This Aladdins cave of wonders is truly the best thrift store I have ever been to, the owner is kind, friendly and also professional. He is not afraid to start up a conversation either and for a chatty Kathy like myself its perfect! I love to talk about British television and T.V shows.
“Its bigger on the inside!” for Dr Who fans, this place is a TARDIS a treasure trove and its actually a day out visiting the place.
So everyone; pack some sandwiches, get your walking boots on and prepare to experience an entire day of fun!
A few good deals hidden in odd places but overall it’s a dark dirty mess with no organization but what do you expect for a thrift store.
4. RLCDesigns Production Studio
Address: Stone Coury, Battlement Mesa, CO 81635 , Parachute , Colorado , United States
Reached in regards to assistance in finding a band for a company holiday party, Ralph was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about music in the area
Great place to see and hear live music. Look up streaming Steve’s at grassroots tv.org .Every Fridaynight 7:30-9ish.(on YouTube) you honestly don’t know who you will see.
Awesome atmosphere and cool people!
Intimate, beautiful guitar display. Fun nice place to get to know musicians upclose. Byob.
Intimate venue blanketed in an eclectic collection of guitars. Great for solo or small acts to play in, especially warm acoustics.
It’s ok
This place chronically doesn’t pay their musicians who play there. 50% cut of door sales?? No response when folks try to collect their earnings?? Support local music – not this place.
6. Roper Music
Address: 1224 N 25th St, Grand Junction, CO 81501 , Parachute , Colorado , United States
The gentlemanw spoketo is very friendly and very helpful. He was able to answer all my questions, since I do not know much about trumpets, and get me set up to rent a trumpet for my daughter. She is very pleased with it. Thank you so much Roper Music!
Great local music and instrument repair store
Just rented a trumpet from Roper. They were fast friendly, and the instrument is beautiful!
Just beginners stuff and acoustic, nice staff
Good friendly service and selection of musical supplies
Good customer service and selection.
Previous band teachers of the grand valley recommend it but sometimes it takes a while to orders to come in.
Bad customer service! They gave me the wrong pay off on my rental and then charged a late fee a month later. They wouldn’t waive it and stated that they know they have bad customer service. Wow!
Also, good luck having someone call you back if you leave a message (most times the voice mailbox is full so you can’t even leave one). Not once did I get a call back.
I went to get an instrument appraised and the owner could not give me the time of day to even look at it. He opened the case for 2 seconds and closed it with out even looking at the condition of the instrument (which is excellent). Offered me a low ball for what it is worth. Very rude and poor service.
Terrible customer service. I will never return.
7. GLENWOOD MUSIC
Address: 3102 Blake Ave D, Glenwood Springs, CO 81601 , Parachute , Colorado , United States
This is gem of a local music shop. Whether you’re a touring pro, a local getting their kids into music, or anywhere in between this is the place to go. A trustworthy and reliable shop. They will match prices to online and are one of the only local licensed service centers for Fender amps, several PA speaker brands (QSC, Mackie, etc), Pioneer mixers, and others. They have guided me with honest feedback towards the right gear for a number of major purchases. Amazing community resource, support these guys!
Great place to get student instrument rentals and awesome customer service
The only music supplies store near eagle county , excellent variety of equipment
W H A T ?? I can’t hear you !! Lol. Yeah it sounds good . ha ha .
Hay todo tipo de instrumentos a precios razonables
I may have never purchased anything from this store, but they have a kickass mural of a gorilla playing a Flying V on the side of the building and it rules. The gorilla is probably playing “Cemetery Gates” by Pantera at full blast.
Not Very NIce or knowledgeable.Been in there several times to pick up strings or picks stuff i needed for that day. and it seemed liked they didn’t have time for me or my questions. Its a bummer because I own a live sound company and it would be nice to pick up all my supplies from a local store.
I took my guitar in to sell on consignment. I was told I would be called when it sold. After 2 weeks I called to see if it sold. I was then told it had sold the week before but I never was called by the owner. When I went in to get my portion of the money, the owner was very standoffish and if he had been a bit more approachable I would have told him how he never called me to tell me it sold. Luckily I won’t have any reason to go back there for any reason!
Customer service is absolutely awful. The rudest staff I have ever had to deal with. They are so pompous and rude I am sad I gave them my money. If you aren’t knowledgeable about music DONT GO HERE, the staff is terrible to customers who don’t know music. I would recommend taking your business elsewhere or just shopping online. Not one member of the staff is nice and helpful, worst musical experience ever!
8. Glenwood Music Inc
Address: 715 Cooper Ave, Glenwood Springs, CO 81601 , Parachute , Colorado , United States
Awesome shop. Great employees. Will shop here again
Excellent staff and selection, I would highly recommend. The private drum lessons offered through this location are top notch.
Every single time I go in this store the staff is so genuine and helpful. I drive way out of my way to work with these fine folks. I wish I could name drop the peps who have helped me but the problem is the whole staff is great! Even stayed open 15 extra minutes for me when I forgot my wallet! Can’t wait to go back
Great place to look for used gear! They have a decent selection of everything especially if you have kids! and the employees are nice. I’ve sold a few thing here and I’ll say they offer the absolute lowest price they can when you don’t take store credit… If you have something to sell and need the cash quick it’s great otherwise you have to be looking to trade for something in the store for it to be worth it.
Its usually great. Had a terrible staff that I hadn’t seen before last time I went. I won’t go back.
Great shop! You can expect to pay a little more than average for used fear here, but they are VERY thorough with inspections before they buy. You can trust you will get good gear. Use as a last resort for selling though. They will give you next to nothing for your used gear. They have to make money right. Overall, staff is very friendly and helpful and new gear rolls in pretty consistently which is good and bad news for those of us with incorrigible G.A.S.
Just leaving the store now! I was trying to get some more information on a couple different things in the store but despite their not being a lot of people in the store for staff did their best to not make eye contact or help me oh well!
I contacted the store online before buying the product online to make sure the store could deliver it within my timeframe. They assured me they would.
Now it’s the eve of their 2nd missed shipping opportunity and I won’t receive the gear in time. I had to purchase the item new and pay for overnight shipping to make sure I got it in time.
Between the purchase and now, the store had gone radio silent, despite my sending an additional email requesting information.
The upshot is that I purchased the gear through a reputable online dealer and will have my gear by Wednesday (today is Monday), rather than whenever the staff of this store decided to get around to it.
Btw… “Sorry dude” doesn’t cut it. Hope the store manager processes my refund with a greater sense of urgency and professionalism.
I’ve been going here since I was like 6. When I decided to start playing guitar they helped me pick out the perfect one. I go here to buy pretty much all of my gear.
Edit: this place has really gone down. Went in today… took them 15 minutes to even acknowledge I was at the counter… I was trying to sell something, and nobody was in there, and they told me they wouldn’t have time to get me in that day even though I went in at 4, and they don’t close until 8… and it wasn’t even just this last time that was bad, it’s been the last several… it’s gotten so bad I’ve started going to spaceman guitars in a sketchy part of town.
10. D’Angelico Guitars Aspen Showroom
Address: 240 S Mill St Suite #201, Aspen, CO 81611 , Parachute , Colorado , United States
The most relaxed guitar shop ever. No pressure. Just enjoy being around quality pieces, and fellow guitar enthusiasts, and scope out a nice selection of vinyl. If you’re lucky, there may even be a puppy or two to pet…
Makes my ears and hands feel really funny, but in a good way
After a recent surgery kept me off the slopes, this guitar store was a godsend. Jonathan let me try out dozens of guitars including the new Bob Weir Bedford model (which plays like a dream). His customer care was spot on.
Comfy couches, Vox and BluesCube amps to play through made for a very relaxed and overall great experience. Normally, I play PRS, but will likely add one of theirs as well after trying them all out.
Great find- been playing guitars for decades and happened to stumble across this store.
Very impressed with the guitars and the showroom.
The store manager was very helpful and explained the brand in detail to my friend who accompanied me. He was knowledgeable, friendly and NOT pushy.
Def felt comfortable inside the store with their couches. Place was well appointed and very clean and tidy!
The guitars seemed well built and had great action and time.
Def considering this brand when I’m ready to increase the guitar herd.
Beautiful guitars! Walking into the store, you see the beautiful guitars and equipment out and ready to play. The staff here was nice and welcoming. Sadly, I’ve bought too many guitars in my life and couldn’t get another for the guitar’s sake. If, in the future, I ever want to buy another (for some reason), this is probably going to be the first place I look. Overall, I absolutely recommend these guitars for their good prices and amazing craftsmanship.
8/10
11. Blue Mesa Music Store
Address: 132 N Main St, Gunnison, CO 81230 , Parachute , Colorado , United States
Thank you Matt for getting my little Fender set up so well. I really do hear hints of Buddy Guy now when I play. I appreciate having you as a local resource, mentor and friend. PS..Christine says a big, deep hello.
ALL THE GUITARS ARE SET-UP AND IN TUNE!!!
Knowledgeable and friendly staff, but not even a little pushy. Usually when you walk into a boutique guitar store, you feel like you have to make small talk with the owner and have to try to escape the encounter to actually look at things. They paid me just the right amount of attention, letting me browse and answering questions. They had no qualms with me playing a $300 squier (again, set-up AND in tune!) or the $4k vintage Martin casually hanging on the wall. Great place to spend some time and some money!
Blue Mesa Music is Class Act store!! I have never felt so welcome in store as I did with Blue Mesa. The staff and owner are all gifted musicians whom are passionate with their profession. Blue Mesa is a “come in, kick off your shoes and play a melody or two. My family sat, played a beautiful 12 string (purchased), deep, rich Cajone (purchased), rattle (purchased) and sang (owned) for well over an hour topped off by Amelia singing and playing a song for us. Blue Mesa Music was one the highlights of Summer of 2022 !
Music is a Rx for PTSD . I got my fix here❤️
12. Affordable Music
Address: 104 Village Pl, Dillon, CO 80435 , Parachute , Colorado , United States
Gary is great. Always helping out the local musicians . Thanks Gary
Great little record shop.
Went in today, and was super impressed. Definitely some gems in there if you actually go through the records. I found some, that I’ve been trying to find for years in Denver. Small place, but I’d go here, over any place in the city.
Surprisingly good 45 selection.
Great store, lots of music, plenty of stringed instruments.
Limited selection, average prices
Owner is a racist. He harassed my friend for shopping while black , four times AFTER he bought a CD. We went outside and had to show the police his recite.
Great place to shop if you are worried someone is impersonating you. Don’t shop there if you are black, he might call the cops.
A shambles. Nothing affordable. Maybe okay for guitars, but not music. Looks like a yard sale gone bad. Used vinyl is poor quality, C- vinyl and covers disorganized and twice the price of Denver. Boxes of unsorted records strewn about. New stuff is full list price. Not worth the effort of stopping. Waste of time
Terrible customer service. Was out of town for a wedding – asked about return policy and he went on a rant about him being a small business and how he would only give store credit. He was very condescending and unprofessional
13. Flesher Hinton Music
Address: 5890 W 44th Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO 80212 , Parachute , Colorado , United States
Friendly, prompt, very reasonable estimate on instrument repair.
They did an amazing job restoring our family’s old violin.
We got to try several instruments before deciding on which one I would take home loved the staff interaction. No pressure at all. Thank you guys
They had the items I was looking at a reasonable price. The service was friendly and helpful as well. What more can you ask for?!
Like always the services people were just great.
There’s parking at the new location. Really reasonably priced supplies. Not the best selection for buying instruments though. Since their relocation, seems they’re putting more emphasis on instrument repair. Still probably the best music supply shop in the area
The people employees are professional, knowledgeable, and ready to help!
As with any store like this, you can expect them to be salesmen, though they don’t push too hard and don’t avoid helping you find the lowest priced items.
The technicians are great, but I wish they had a bit more enthusiasm.
If you are testing out brass instruments or such, the practice room they put me in had too much reverb to get accurate samples, even with a recording device. I have yet to ask if they had a more acoustically dry room.
They can order sheet music and products, and have all the basics and many accessories for band musicians.
Just terrible experience! Purchased a new wood clarinet 5 months ago. Found out it was cracking, unfortunately happens if not taken care of, but not in the first 5 months.
Took 2+ months to fix, when we finally picked it up, some old guy in the store started telling my 16 year old daughter about keeping it greased every six months- lecturing her because it was so dried out! Finally stepped in and told him…we bought it here less than 5 months ago…in other words, you sold an old dried out clarinet for $2000.00. Will never ever step foot in this store again d/t the service dept.
Went in to check out acoustic guitars earlier today. Got an important call as I was about to tune a guitar I was checking out and the guy behind the counter just starts blowing into some sort of wind instrument seemingly deliberately because taking a quick phone call. So I hung up the guitar and just walked out.
But the guy who welcomed me when I walked in seemed nice.
14. Funky Bear Cafe
Address: 73 Sipprelle Dr Unit A, Parachute, CO 81635 , Parachute , Colorado , United States
1st dinner service- excellent food, service, and atmosphere!
Awesome little restaurant! Been in for breakfast, lunch and dinner and it’s been great every time!
Im so grateful to have a breakfast place in Battlement Mesa. The food is great, the staff are accommodating, and the decor is vibrant and inviting. I had the Steak and eggs Benedict. It was amazing. I highly recommend this place.
The food was good, however very small portions at a price that would make restaurants in Aspen seem cheap. Ive literally eaten there for less. Im glad to see small business opening up in parachute, but I do hope the owner realizes that this is parachute, where people hardly can afford wendys for the most part lol. Idk anyone who wants to pay 42 dollars for a regular steak.
Updated: had the burger and fries for lunch! Yummy. Can’t wait to try dinner. I am eying the charcuterie, poutine, and shishito pepper apps! Just gets better every time!
I have been here several times now. The menu has a lot of delicious looking items. Each time I ordered some thing it was tasty, although there were little flaws, like an egg not being properly cooked or chicken being a little over done, but overall a good place. I’m excited to have it as part of our community! I’m sure it will just get better and better as all of the little quirks and kinks are worked out. It just gets better every time! The servers working have all been very nice, helpful and delightful. Loved the lavender mimosa!
Not a giant menu, but the food was delicious!
Consistency is an issue. It is worth asking who is cooking to ensure you get a good meal when you check in next. One day you’ll get a burnt burger that’s raw in the middle and the next some properly scrambled eggs and hashbrowns that don’t swim in grease.
Service is a hit and miss. Some days you’ll get 4-5 people standing around looking annoyed with 1 happy to help and another day you’ll get one harried, untrained server.
Wish them the best but at this rate (and let’s be honest folks that no business succeeds without proper and valid criticism) it is headed in the direction of another certain restaurant in town.
I’m a firm believer in giving a place at least 3 tries. 1 out of 2 isn’t bad but not great at the price.
The restaurant has potential. The presentation of the food was good. However,
The food lacked flavor. The pancakes, for example, (the banana pancakes to be specific ) were too soggy & “wet.” The avocados were too hard, the eggs had no salt or pepper (tasteless), the sauce had no spice or flavor to it. The food LOOKED good but it lacked taste.
Like I said, the restaurant has potential. Maybe if there was more focus on the flavor & improving the quality of the ingredients , I believe that the food can be in alignment with the presentation.
This is just feedback to help improve the business because we’re all here to be better! Hope this helps!
God bless
Negative star 1 star , I only put one star so people would be able to view this. Even though they say they are here for the community they kicked us out because we had our service dog. They said we could go to the patio in extreme heat. Excuse was that they didnt want to fail health inspection. They failed not only community but they failed ADA, and truly doesn’t matter if you have wheel chair accessibility of you kick people out that are disabled ♿. Maybe the health department will educate them on ADA with a service animal. Maybe the health department will show everyone of your employees how to care for each individual that has a working dog and hopes to save theirs lives. This is not only a sad story but makes me sick.
15. HB Woodsongs
Address: 3101 28th St, Boulder, CO 80301 , Parachute , Colorado , United States
My violin students rent their instruments from HB Woodsongs, I’ve bought two ukuleles, countless sets of strings, books, and accessories, and attend their monthly Ukulele Hootenanny, where Paul and Shawn’s expertise shines through.
Last Spring when I need to get some major repair work done to my cello, they helped get it over to Woodsongs Lutherie (who also did an amazing job).
I trust their expertise and knowledge for anything music-related.
One of the best parts about living in Boulder is having stores like Woodsongs in the mix. I’ve been a resident here for almost 40 years and during that time my appreciation for the store, the quality instruments, the personal attention and interest shown by the staff has only grown by leaps and bounds. Many years ago when I wanted to rent a violin/fiddle and then later to purchase it, I never even considered having to travel far and wide (to Westminster, Denver) because Woodsongs had exactly what I wanted. And now, it is even better. Right here in Boulder; we have this amazing acoustic music shop!
Over the years, my family and I have purchased guitars and ukuleles (and untold number of accessories) from Woodsongs and each time have been treated with caring regard by the staff; they know what a big deal it is to decide to bring a new instrument into your life. We have also taken advantage of the terrific musical instruction there AND the monthly jams. Woodsongs is an active part of our lives here in Boulder.
Thank you to the entire staff and crew at Woodsongs. You are a Boulder Treasure!
Small but nice musical instruments stores. They don’t have a lot of stuff (my only complaint), but you be able to find some accessories and also some high-end acoustic guitars. Salespersons are friendly and they also have a music school in this place.
Attentive staff. Good selection. Prices are average to high.
Go to place in Boulder for all of my acoustic instrument needs. Good people, excellent service, nice atmosphere.
Very friendly staff, unfortunately way over-priced. You can find some of the exact same items on ebay or Amazon for less than half the price at this store.
16. Gravity Music Gear
Address: 6487 Federal Blvd, Denver, CO 80221 , Parachute , Colorado , United States
Great place to buy gear and a great staff always make a great buying experience
If you’re tired of guitar center, this is one of the few remaining music spots in Denver where you can get quality gear
I went in not expecting much and was surprised to find them straight forward. I sold a bunch of gear I wasn’t using anymore and they gave me good money for my stuff. Plus they got me out of there in about 15 minutes. Thanks for not screwing me around like a lot of other places do.
The store itself is a great store. As far as selling your gear to them goes- they’re kind of fair. That’s the best way I can put it. They claim to give the highest offer right off the bat. Sure, whatever. I’ve sold to them a lot. I appreciate doing business with them. Just know that they’re at least going to offer you 30% below retail value, and then mark it up at least 40% to make their money. All good and standard resale practices. What else can you expect I suppose. If you don’t know a lot about the items you’re bringing to them though- they’ll probably take advantage of that.
Shopping here is awesome and the guys are knowledgeable, the prices for customers (rather than the sellers) are alright.
Great equipment at decent prices.
Heavy on amps and pa, but you can never tell what will walk in.
I just stopped in but very nice place.
Staff not to friendly with Mexican clients
Bought an amp from these guys one ebay. It arrived with the wrong parts and broken. They refused a refund. Buy somewhere else.
READ THIS POST ABOUT THEM FIRST
I just brought the a 1894 lendalls violin they offered me $100 took it over to mi Vida Strings he told me its worth $4500-$5500 and the bow is worth another $600 these guys are such a rip off I will never do business here again offering Penny’s on the dollar.
They won’t do business with me because I gave them a 1 star rating looking at all there comments I’m not the only 1 very shady company be careful selling or buying from them
17. Allegro Music
Address: 11475 Twenty Mile Rd Suite A, Parker, CO 80134 , Parachute , Colorado , United States
I highly recommend Allegro Music in Parker. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I have made several purchases, including a special order item. I have also sold an instrument on consignment. Great staff, location, instructors, products and service … what more could you ask for?
Staff is very helpful
Super nice and friendly and knowledgeable staff
Fantastic music shop Two guys were in there working. So very helpful. I shopped the stores and net before heading out. Allegro music has great prices
Idk its neat and my teacher is cool
The staff was easily the best feature of the store. They were very friendly and supportive in helping me understand their products and services. Not only do they sell instruments but they offer lessons and practice rooms too. The selection of used electric pianos was limited and the prices of new instruments was higher than what I could pay shopping online, but with services like rent-to-own (great rates) and such knowledgeable staff I will be a return client.
My son dropped his guitar off over two weeks ago to get fixed and they never even pulled it out of the bag to fix it. They lost the paper work and we’re worthless at customer service! My son had to find his own guitar in the mess and nothing had been done to it. Never getting our business again ( actually didn’t have to pay because they didn’t touch it) and I’ll tell everyone they are horrible.
If there is an negative star I will definitely rate this shop. We rent two cellos for our kids for 9 months with their rent-to-own program, we had been told that we can use the rental equity purchase ANY music instruments. However, when we returned them the staff told us our equity should be used on those rental/used musical instrument, if we want to use them on something different, they will take 25% from our equity and they also sell us those musical instruments $100 more. I went to the store three times and every time I got different explanation on their policy. Can you imagine they sell an $500 used Yamaha student flute which costs only $200 on amazon? And an ukulele for $145? Come on! We paid about $900 rental just thought we can get something interesting for our kids when we return but it ends up we just got 2 cheap Yamaha junior guitars which Allegro charged $250 each (only costs $135 on amazon). Highly recommend those who plan to rent musical instruments from them to get an used one from Craigslist or Facebook marketplace.
Update 6/24/19
You are very welcome to post the policy I signed here, if there is any. If you told customer the equity can be used for “rent to own”, I don’t understand what is the issue when we really want to buy some instruments. The problem is you guys keep changing the words you say to your customer. You literally want to throw an used Yamaha 220 student flute to us for about $500, which the a brand new newer model costs only $480 on amazon, that’s a rip-off! And come on, we both know what quality your cello are, those just basic student cello which you can find the new one in amazon $250 each.
To those who want to rend musical instruments from Allegro, I suggest you do some research first on Facebook marketplace or Amazon, unless you do not care how much you paid. Their “rent-to-own” program will sell over-priced instruments to customers when they want to use the equity.
I wouldn’t shop there for anything except for guitar picks or something maybe not even that.
18. Guitar Hut
Address: 1385 Forest Park Cir #106, Lafayette, CO 80026 , Parachute , Colorado , United States
Evan set up my already awesome bass guitar, turning it into something I couldn’t have dreamed up. It plays better than ever before, and he fixed buzzing spots that I had thought were just part of the neck. Definitely coming back here for more work!
Friendly staff, affordable repair, custom made guitars, low cost factory seconds as well as reasonably priced new and used instruments, lessons. Small owner managed shop. Well worth the visit…..
My boys have taken guitar lessons at Guitar Hut for years and they absolutely love it. The instructors have a positive energy that always gets my kids fired up to practice and fall in love with music every week. Highly recommended.
I had these guys take a look at a signature bass of mine. It had some electrical problems going on with it that were a bit out of their knowledge base but Evan is great guy. Very honest and very hard working. I will return with any other problems I have in the future and I would recommend them. Their pricing is very fair and they are willing to help out customers any way they can.
I called to sign my boys up for guitar lessons and had a few options worked out and was told I would be called back to confirm which times worked. I never heard back. Then, when I called back to confirm options, I was told they didn’t have any of my information logged and there were no longer any time slots available for lessons.
Everyone I have met there seems very nice, but very poorly organized.
19. Music Go Round
Address: 2925 S College Ave, Fort Collins, CO 80525 , Parachute , Colorado , United States
Everything great! Many thanks to Graham at Music Go Round, FT Collins. Saw this online, called the store directly and spoke to Graham, asked for a description of it’s condition, and happy to say it is exactly as described. Packaged beautifully to arrive safely. Truly couldn’t ask for better! Thanks again.
I needed an IEMonitor system. Branden helped research it and then ordered two systems. I bought one for a great price! Best deal and cool people. go here.
Outstanding experience! My son was given a trumpet for band and we needed to get it checked out. After calling around, we decided to take it here. Brandon went way above and beyond to ensure my son was all ready for his first day of band, and told him step by step what he was doing and why. We will definately go back and I absolutely recommend Music Go Round!
Asked about where to repair my amp, told him I had it looked at by a local sound guy that has been repairing amps for decades(including four of mine, which I was very happy with) but wasn’t sure if I wanted to return it to the factory to be refurbished. The guy behind the counter(the manager) took that opportunity to bash the guy I went to(pretty excessively), and try to convince me his amp guy would be better than having it factory refurbished. It was rude, unprofessional and I’m doubt I’ll ever be back in the store.
Good deals and knowledgeable staff .
I went in tonight around 6pm to pick up some bass strings. When I walked in, I asked for recommendations on bass strings, as I’ve only bought guitar strings before. The man working there didn’t even come fully out from behind the counter to assist me and made a rude comment when I jokingly asked “What strings does Geddy Lee use?” (The bass player from Rush.)
Honestly, it’s not about the bass strings, the inability to walk fully from behind the counter, or the rude comment and attitude. It’s the fact that I’m trying to support local businesses, and EVERY TIME I go to this store, I’m treated as if I’m an inconvenience.
At Guitar Center, I’m always treated with respect and courtesy. It’s making it really hard for me to want to keep supporting this business when I know that I’ll be treated better somewhere else. A small dose of customer service goes a long way.
If they pretended they were happy to see me just once, it would make a difference. I wear the store’s t-shirt, for crying out loud.
Mr. Brandon Barrios:
I went to Music Go Around today on purpose to give a local business my money rather than Amazon. I left right away, however, as your shopkeeper responded in an unfriendly manner that I was not wearing a mask. I explained that we are an asthmatic family and his ungenerous response was, “I’m an asthmatic, too, and I’m wearing a mask.” It is your prerogative to wear a mask and force your customers to do so, but it is also my prerogative to take my business where I’m not forced to wear a mask that hinders my breathing and does little to nothing to stop the bad flu called covid-19. You just lost the $500-$1000 I was prepared to spend.
Came in with my wife yesterday. Picked your sign off the ground on my way in the store… someone thanked me. that was the only employee interaction I had in 10 minutes of browsing. Not a single person offered me help or asked me if I wanted to play anything. I was here to spend money. you have 500$ shecktor that would have been sold. and the 170 bass would have been also. and a wireless pickup system. but i felt like i wasn’t valued, i grabbed a couple strings and left. oh well i guess?
Good music store but don’t sell them your musical instruments – they value everything on ebay and offer you less than 10% of its value. Offered me $50 for a very old German violin which I sold on craigslist for $800 which was about the value of the instruments I could see them looking at to compare against on ebay
20. The Music Shoppe
Address: 136 E Pagosa St #11, Pagosa Springs, CO 81147 , Parachute , Colorado , United States
Very knowledgable and super friendly. Excellent prices
Very knowledgeable, personable, and great selection! Also offers lessons
Incredibly helpful and non pretentious. I felt at ease here and wanted to come back instead of feeling pressured to buy something. Great prices on repairs or modifications
Carl has opened a beautiful new shop!
Very knowledgeable, nice selection .
For a small town, this place is amazing. The owner knows so much and has helped me as an artist. Nice instruments for good prices. But this time I only needed some drum sticks, that where less than expected, I may add.
Musical equipment is overpriced amazon deals from Christmas. Owner is a nice guy, but was clearly just trying to sell more expensive items over cheaper arguably better ones. “Handmade” strings snapped within the hour, I have a hard time believing the Ernieball strings would have any problem. Sadly though I listened to the worker who assured me that they were the worst. Overall I recommend just driving to Durango you’d end up saving money and not being treated as if you haven’t been playing guitar correctly your entire life.
