Marsha and Don’t were phenomenal! They had my guitar playing brand new in no time.
My daughter broke her phone, so I called to have it fixed. They verified the part was in stock. When I brought the phone in for repair, they were very nice. The phone was repaired flawlessly, for a fantastic price.
small business owned by an adorable little elderly couple that make my day every time I come in- They’re a tad hard of hearing but they’ve always got the best intentions, very knowledgeable and skilled in their expertise. Love them!
Local lessons by knowledgeable staff. Was a super cramped placed a lesson room seems small. The amount of instruments on the wall was very good, very nice selection. We came for a repair and it was a quick drop off with no issues. The biggest issue was the cleanliness of the restroom. So gross and no soap.
I want to rock….
Nice convenient family owned business with a good variety
I’m sure they are nice enough, but I was completely screwed. A family member bought some items for Christmas that I can’t use. These folks would not even entertain an exchange or swap. “All sales are final”. Extremely disappointing. You might better stay away.
Very awful would not recommend!
During piano classes, instructor was falling a sleep and did fall asleep several times. When she came out she told us that the student was doing horrible and it took a long time because of the student. But really it was because the instructor kept falling asleep. We chose Happy Tunes because we had three people to enroll and they could get them all in on the same day at the same time. But after only two lessons they tried to change one student to Thursdays and the other two to Wednesdays.
We did get a refund, but after much fighting. Don’t go here!
Terrible experience. This place needs to close down. Came in with my son who’s a music enthusiast. The lady in the store rolled her eyes as soon as we entered. She then told us not to let our son touch anything. Somone else showed us to the drumsticks. Not 3 minutes later, she walked in “how can I help you sir?” I responded ” I’m looking for sticks for my son.”
She replied “well, I mean they’re all very similar.”
I won’t speculate about why they didn’t seem to be very open to having our business. I’ll just never stop here again.
4. Excel Music
Address: 10353 Cross Creek Blvd, Tampa, FL 33647 , Pebble Creek , Florida , United States
My experience with Excel Music has been great from the beginning. Office staff are kind and communicate well. I was lucky to have Mr. Greg as my cello teacher. Transition to virtual lesson was smooth and there hasn’t been any issues. My daughter also started viola lesson with Mr. Greg during the summer. It is still enjoyable and good quality lessons even though it is virtual. We look forward to many more lessons!
My daughter really enjoys taking lessons at Excel music. They have a beautiful facility and very professional staff!
I highly recommend Excel music to anyone who is looking for a professional , high quality music school.
Just wanted to thank my daughter’s piano Teacher Ms Bari at Excel.. She took Piano classes when we were in Tampa and then we moved back to India in Feb 2021. Now here every one who listens my daughter playing is in full praise for her teacher… She taught and worked very hard with her. Thank you and to everyone at excel music.. You all helped us the best. Sending Good wishes from here in India.
Disgusting the way they are taking advantage of people with everything going on right now.
Edit: Oh I did reach out directly and was treated in a condescending manner. Your options would have still cost me money or would have been too late. I was taking lessons to help with an audition and wedding. Postponing them would have helped nothing. I was told if the web lessons would not work to let the office know. I called the day before with like a 16 or 20 hour notice canceling. There was no mention that I would lose that lesson until after the fact. You can try to intimidate and make your excuses, but we both know your wrongdoing. Go take your side of the story somewhere where someone might believe it.
Condescending receptionist. I called three times for six weeks just to get my child signed up to start lessons!
We finally confirmed lessons and she wanted me to pay for the first lesson a week in advance. That’s fine. However, she then said, “All future payments will have to come off of this exact card” and refused to understand that sometimes people have more than one account/card that they use. She literally refused the first payment. The receptionist literally prevented an elementary child from starting music lessons. This is the 21st Century; customers can switch their payment card if they choose to. Very condescending receptionist who is a clear barrier to lessons.
Due to COVID-19, we had to leave out of state and bringing a piano with us wasn’t at the top of our list of things to bring. I contacted the school via email the morning of the lesson and they stated that we wouldn’t be able to make up the lesson because we didn’t notify them 24 hours in advance.
In the response to another Google reviewer, Excel Music states their policy is to provide mutual respect. However, Excel Music moved to virtual lessons because of COVID-19 – they asked for our support and we decided to continue to support them during this critical time. They asked us to be flexible, but they can’t reciprocate.
Most importantly, the front desk coordinator didn’t provide any empathy for our situation of having to leave out of state. She seemed surprised that I felt frustrated and sounded like she was reading off a script. It’s my hope the owner of Excel Music sees this review because I have no confidence Cassidy shared my email with the owner.
Here’s my email:
“Please cancel our membership. We were asked to be flexible with Zoom lessons, but you guys can’t be flexible with me cancelling under 24 hours and get a make up lesson.
We had to head to Georgia for family reasons. Unfortunately, bringing a piano wasn’t our priority. Thank you for being understanding. “

The owner will bend over backwards to make sure you’re a happy customer. Great turnaround time on repairs.
Steve, Great guy. He loves to help people.
Owner was very nice! Love supporting a local business.
I bought my flute from then back in 1986 . I have brought it in the them for a complete overall so my daughter can use it for her first instrument.
Very knowledgeable and honest with this assessment of what needs to be done and give options including external solutions
Did not repair two flutes left for over a year. Went back to collect them and they were initially lost .
Finally picked them up after I was notified that they found them.
Will take them to a more organized repair shop and not this hole-in-the-wall.
Tampa Fine Arts has been especially easy to work with given the challenges of the last few months! Now that my son is able to gain hands-on piano training, the whole team has been so kind and welcoming to us. My son has excelled quickly thanks to Eric’s flexible and individualized teaching method. Larry and Jenny are always easy to speak with and make us feel as though we’ve been with Tampa Fine Arts for years! I highly recommend them for aspiring musicians and students of all ages!
Great teachers and owner is always willing to help with any needs. My kids love it here!
Our son has been a student of Tampa Fine Arts Academy for a couple of years now. His guitar teacher,, Sam, is fantastic, as is the entire staff and owner.. I would highly recommend this school!
Nice and talented teachers. $110 a month plus extra fees like $40 cancellation fee and registration start up fees . Must Autopay but if you cancel after mid month Larry still charges your account for whole extra month so -2 stars. I believe this is a fair rating.
My daughter loves her guitar lessons. Friendly and encouraging atmosphere!
Great experience, friendly and communication is good.
Both my kids took piano lessons from Sandy and loved it!!!!! She is an incredible teacher – extremely kind, patient and professional. This is a very well established company with amazing credentials and talent. HIGHLY recommend them!!!
Greg Koss helped me to learn the basics of playing the flute. I hope to go back and learn how to play the clarinet as well. My dad got his bass there and wants to play it. Greg is very friendly and courteous plus he knows music!
14. Bent String Recording Studios
Address: 2415 Sunset Ln, Lutz, FL 33549 , Pebble Creek , Florida , United States
BEST STUDIO IN TAMPA
the people are perfect and friendly very respectful and nice. WE LOVE IT HERE
Really nice studio. We’ll put together. Bent Strings is family!
Everyone here is so nice and professional. They are dedicated to making sure you leave happy at the end of each and every session. I’ve personally worked with JT and he is the best, we are always on the same page when working on any song. Highly recommend this studio
Nice enviorment
I have not been to Bent String directly. I found this studio online looking for an engineer. I met JT is Facebook mess where I reached out to him for help with a track. He did my first single, Tyler herro. It was a good sound and it was done and returned in a timely matter. When we did business for that song he said he didn’t preview the song and he only works on when he gets paid. I already though that was a little weird but I was willing to move forward and have him work on my album. I paid him and sent him the album around December 31st and confirmed a date of Jan 11th. I inquire about the album a week in with hopes to visit the studio and listen to the album. JT said the studio was hit with COVID and I could come in the week after. I’m thinking ok the week after is the week of the date I’d like to release so I ask again for clarification. He said he would have it done before the 11th. I hit up JT on the 10th. He expressed that he would have it done on the 11th now and not before because per his words, he had bigger sessions. So I asked if he knew about the sessions when we confirmed mine and he said no. When asking him what’s going on I asked for a refund if he couldn’t get it done and that I’ll go with someone else. He said he could do partial and that the reason he didn’t finish my album was because his ears needed to rest from 8 hour sessions. I’m an engineer i went to school for this so I understood. I told him to get the proper rest to have a great sounding album. He sends me the album that night and it sounds rushed. It’s sucks an engineer would tell an artist they have bigger sessions after taking there money and wasting their time. Who can I speak to about a refund?
Just wasn’t for me Debbie cool , susan cool but experience I never want to have again , I will leave it at that there other studios worth the trip and time for a more professional experience & less drama and I stand bye my decision. Not everything for everyone …

Really happy with the service I received at Sam Ash in Tampa. They helped me track down a drum head I was looking for, mailed it overnight to me for no additional charge, and helped me rent a cymbal for a session I had. Good attitudes and were very helpful.
My favorite toy store. Guys are very knowledgeable and make great suggestions as needed.
Sydney was great. Very helpful.
Had to wait a bit and stock was limited but the friendly sales person helped me out.
I like the convenience
What cusromer service. Horrible on a consistent basis.
So, everytime i enter this store, they check package, today i walk behind a caucasian couple and kids, and they did not check there package, also I waited 20 minutes before anybody approached me and family. On my way out the store, my receipt was check and sign, again a caucasian young couple standing at the same counter was not. “And that’s all I have to said about that”
My daughter’s Celebration of Life would not have been the same without Paul’s participation. He was the best Piper we could have found, thanks to my son-in-law. It was as if we had an exceptional family member there with us rather than a stranger.
20. Paragon Rentals and Music Lessons
Address: 1442 W Busch Blvd, Tampa, FL 33612 , Pebble Creek , Florida , United States
Super friendly, knowledgeable, and easy to deal with.
A+ Highly recommend Paragon. They really are passionate about music and sincerely care about the students. We were able to try out different instruments before deciding. Fair prices. Excellent customer service for repairs. Great expertise. Really great people! My daughter got the trumpet for band at school.
They gave excellent and rapid service to repair my son’s instrument. I highly recommend their services!
Daft staff told me an instrument was in stock and 30 minutes later when I arrived it was not
Called to make sure they had an instrument, they said yes but it required I come in for a credit check then they ship it from Clearwater. Drove almost an hour to this place, filled out their form, gave them my social, unlocked my credit files and left only for them to call me 15 minutes later and say they never actually checked if the instrument was available and they had none to rent.
