Got a s’mores coffee here. It was really good. Drove 30 mins for it, no disappointment.
I am so happy this place has opened up in the heart of Petersburg. Their coffee is delicious and you’ll taste the difference right away. Don’t forget to try one of their fresh baked goods – always a new variety to try!
We split samples of just about everything, and we were not disappointed. The scones are the best when heated up, and the coffee is delicious! Highly recommend
I’ve been coming here for months now usually about once-twice a week and unfortunately I feel as if the quality has declined over time. The espresso has become more bitter, milk too foamy for a standard latte, and the hot chocolate I ordered today tasted like warm milk. I’d say 1/5th of the time recently I’ve been disappointed, when before the quality was superb. Hopefully the Talisman can work on their consistency. I will say I appreciate the house made syrups and milk alternative options.
We stopped in yesterday for a coffee ☕ and tea . I also had a Chai Tea Molasses cookie. Cookie was really good. Tea was hot.. Coffee was warm not close to hot. I went back to the counter and I mentioned it to the girl at the counter. She offered to microwave it to heat it, seriously at the price you charge you want to microwave the coffee. Definitely not! She never even offered to make a fresh one. If this is your way of doing business I really don’t see the need to support your business.
2. 1st and 3rd Boutique and Wine Bar
Address: 105 S 7th St, Petersburg, IL 62675 , Petersburg , Illinois , United States
They’ve created this very unique venue in a beautiful historical building in downtown Petersburg. The combination of gifts and clothing and decor and wine bar and all-around good-will is making this place a destination. It’s already become a meeting place for friends around the area. Beautiful!
1st & 3rd boutique and wine bar has got it going on. You can shop for you and your home, sip on a great selection of wine & just take in the fun atmosphere they have created. It is family friendly as well. Love 1st & 3rd!
Great service and and staff!
Really a nice addition to the downtown square. Enter and you encounter a quaint boutique at the front. Walking towards the back you find a nice wine bar. Up a nice staircase and you find a large open room with plenty of seating and we were treated with live music.
Great place for wine. Bring your own food, they don’t mind. Ping pong table upstairs.
3. Dollar General
Address: 1018 N 6th St, Petersburg, IL 62675 , Petersburg , Illinois , United States
So cute and the lady’s there was so friendly band helpful, diffently recommend this adorable lil shop / theater….love it.
Very friendly. Unique and quality merchandise to buy for yourself and/or as a gift. A small vintage theater is also here, that has live entertainment, it’s a must see.
Wow had a great time tonight enjoying the acustic music show at the theater. Vintage and quite nicely refreshingly comfortable. The store itself is full of various items some of which appears to be from local vendors. There is a really nice selection of booths with quality items. In addition to accessing the theater they offer a small refreshment area which includes the normal candy snacks, fresh baked cookies, popcorn and Beer & Wine. What a great way to spend as couple hours enjoying the show and browsing before the show or during the intermission. Thanks for supporting Petersburg with something rather unique. Awesome time tonight. See you all again.

7. Hand of Fate
Address: 107 E Douglas St, Petersburg, IL 62675 , Petersburg , Illinois , United States
Great place, so good food, I recommend chicken bacon ranch wrap and beers, so good
Cool location and building. Beer’s were average.
Cool spot. Beers are ok, but I would like to see more IPAs.
Can’t speak to the beer, but if your charging $10 plus tax for a flat bread it shouldn’t be piled onto a single little plastic plate sticking pieces together…and the taco pizza was pretty tasteless. And flat bread should be thin and crispy…not doughy
Poor customer service.
8. The Music Shoppe Inc.
Address: 2940 Constitution Dr, Springfield, IL 62704 , Petersburg , Illinois , United States
Support local!
Wonderful selection of reeds (both clarinet & saxophone), musical equipment (instrument swabs, reed cases, stands, etc.), and great service. They wanted to make sure we found everything we needed.
Why buy online when you can support your local music shop and get everything you need? 🙂
The best place to buy whatever musical products you may need!!!
Excellent Staff
Helpful staff, slow work processing, and not great communication
Staff is helpful and they have lots of instruments to view. One bad thing is that they always seem to make you feel like they are waiting for you to steal something. I realize there is lots of theft that happens but you don’t need to follow me around while I browse.
Very helpful staff was able to guide me right to the different snare heads needed making it a quick and easy stop!
This place will go the way of the rock shop if they keep treating customers like suspects.
It was not like this at the Stevenson location.
9. Capital City Music
Address: 3700 Wabash Ave, Springfield, IL 62711 , Petersburg , Illinois , United States
Has just about everything that you would need. I have to restrain myself because of all of the inventory in this beautiful store. (A kid in a candy shop.) They are knowledgeable and helpful.
Good
Good place to get anything to do with music nice people!!!
Nice store plenty of gear in stock , staff was pleasant , prices were reasonable and they even had some used instruments for cheapskate s like me hahaa I will go back and give them some business, even though online shopping may save you a few nickel s or couple bucks shopping local and having our local business s right down the street is well worth it to me .
Slightly expensive, but very helpful and knowledgeable staff.
I primarily look in the guitar/bass section, but good selection of instruments and helpful staff.
I’ve been to a lot of music stores, and let me tell ya, avoid the this at all costs. Prices are High, equipment is below average, and the customer service is a joke. If you don’t mind paying top prices for sub standard gear and having to staff look down at you like you owe them something well this is the place for you . Two thumbs down
The guest experience was alright, but after going in, and returning my item the staff took my return and assured me it was completed, I left and enjoyed the day, more than a week later and I have discovered the staff I talked to must have processed my return improperly since I have never received my refund on my bank statement and when I tried to call in to get the situation corrected I was told they could not find my transaction. Edit… The owner has personally reached out to me and has worked to correct the situation.
went to get my guitar set up and it came back out of tune, disappointed to say the least, reading other reviews it appears the staff might need more technical experience or organization
I am giving two stars because Matt Waldhoff took the time to speak with us in the store. Other than that, I’m not impressed. We were going to consign an expensive Clavinova with them. Upon looking at the contract emailed to us they wanted 40% of the price it sold for, which was satisfactory with us. What was not satisfactory was even thought they only charged $100 to pick-up the clavinova it appeared from the contract they wanted $100 to deliver it to the new owners. Also, they would take no responsibility for any damage that may occur to the unit while it was in their hands. As we had questions regarding that contract we contacted Matt Waldhoff two times via email, asking him to clarify certain aspects of the contract. He never responded back so I assumed they did not want our business. I ended up selling the clavinova on my own and kept the 40% they would otherwise have received. It is inexcusable to not return emails to clarify a contract and I can only assume he took offense that we had questions regarding a contract where they took the profit, but absolutely no responsibility for damage.
