Our favorite place to antique shop when we are in Pine. Larry is the sweetest, he is one of the owners and the friendliest face to walk in to! They have so many wonderful things, you have to go through more than once to see everything!! They have a little current selection, hand made soaps, hot sauces and carved wooden items. I love this place. A must stop and shop!!!!
Great place for that special item. Be sure to say hi to Ty, the cat.
Always fun to browse
Clean and well organized.
There are a always changing selection of neat vintage and antique items here. I love to just go and spend an hour or so, looking for neat things to add to my collections.
Huge. A bit pricey. Nice clean place with just about anything you can imagine. From furniture to Nick knacks, jewelry to books.
Didn’t have a mask with me and was kicked out of store.I well never be back(I have a medical condition) wow
3. Tymeless Antiques & Treasures Too
Address: 4078 AZ-87, Pine, AZ 85544 , Pine , Arizona , United States
I love going to this store each time I visit Pine with my family! The antiques that we find in the store are always so interesting and unique. The staff here are very welcoming and friendly with my family and I, even going as far as to speak with us about how our family is doing. I think anyone that passes through town should stop by and take a walk around and look at all the nice things in this shop.
Nice owner and gentleman
Very beutiful decore.
Decent service. Honest staff.
Cool place!
I visit this antique and collectible shop every time I visit Payson! Is clean, reasonable, and full of interesting vintage and antique items. I always leave with something!
Not a good store. Avoid it. Will never stop again. Plenty of other good stores!
4. Pine Hardware
Address: 3594 AZ-87 Unit 1084, Pine, AZ 85544 , Pine , Arizona , United States
Always amazing customer service and fantastic selection of items. Seriously, for being a small town hardware store they have it all. Bird feeders, sprinklers, plumbing parts, chain, fence posts, door mats, paint and supplies, padlocks, light bulbs, electrical, nuts & bolts, pvc, gift items, soaps, you name it! We will always try there before heading down the hill. They great you with a smile and will help you hunt down what you need or help figure out a better, cheaper way do things too.
most of the time, these fine friendly folks have just what i need, and only 6 minutes from my home
New owner working on getting store stocked
Small town store, always helpful. I try to shop here to support them.
Have shopped there for 7 years and never had a problem. Hadn’t been in the store for a while since was I had been working big projects.and had to use Home Depot. Well, bought a hasp for a new shed, but it didn’t fit. I repackaged and neatly taped the product. Took my receipt and was taking it back to find another, granted I spent over $20 w/tax for this thing. The guy that was helping me says, “You opened the package.” I stated, “Yes, that’s how I found out it didn’t fit, is there a problem?” He says again, “You opened the package.” I said, “Yes, but I have the receipt.” I also let him know that I worked for years in retail hardware and when a product comes back unused with a receipt, I always took it back. There were quite a few other customers around us hearing this interaction. In any case, I felt uncomfortable and was not impressed with the customer service skills. It wasn’t about the customer or helping solve my problem. I’ll never go there again. If they had a sign that said, “We don’t take any opened packages back for return” or made people aware in some other way, I wouldn’t have disrupted his day. Next time I will drive the 25 miles to Home Depot, that store doesn’t exist for me anymore.
Why do you have a hardware store and don’t keep it stocked up
Been there several times and had to go to payson pick up stuff that every hardware store should have
I wont go there anymore
Tried to drop off my Uhaul like I had scheduled 2 days previous and the old man in there was so extremely rude. He was argumentative n kept walking away when we were trying to talk to him. Then he charged me an extra $57 after corporate Uhaul told him not to. They took care of it but we will never return here for anything. Worst customer service ever!!
5. Moose Mountain Gifts & Antqs
Address: 6264 W, 6264 Hardscrabble Mesa Rd, Pine, AZ 85544 , Pine , Arizona , United States
Lots of treasures. Worth seeking them out. The lady at the counter turned out to be a very pleasant woman. It was a fun place to go. I will go again.
03/22/2021
Just had a lovely time here. Me ,my husband, and son spent about an hour there treasure hunting. It was a blast and the Lady at the counter/owner, was so personable and fun. This place has real antiques and they are . affordable. I’ve been to other shops in town and this is my pick. Scale ⚖️ of 1-10, I give this jem a 10.
Really enjoyed shopping there the people were super nice
Good place to shop
More expensive than it should be but…..
This store deserves more stars. I could spend hours in here just browsing at all the wonderful antiques. Unfortunately the energy in this place is drab. The lady at the front desk is never friendly. There are so many angry signs posted all over the place and it definitely ruins your experience. Upon entry you are immediately greeted by a sign on the door with bold letters. I get it, the sign lets customers know to watch their kids etc…but to be called an “idiot” on a different sign is totally unacceptable. Blah, I’ll go elsewhere.
Lots of stuff can’t really see everything what we could see was mainly old cow boy boots . Did not see any real antiques, very poor customer service.
Store is great. Lots of interesting things. Been there more than a few times. Not sure if it’s the same person or not, but the lady that checks you out is miserable with a capital “M”!! So not helpful, so unfriendly. Needs customer service training. May not visit again!
Place is way too crowded and most of the stuff is consignment. Really thought they would buy antiques but they only do consignments. Hard to look at so much stuff.
6. THAT Brewery & Pub
Address: 3270 AZ-87, Pine, AZ 85544 , Pine , Arizona , United States
Super yummy food and outstanding, attentive service!
Great beer, food and service on a busy labor day weekend!
Great food, lovely surroundings
Went there twice for drinks. Didn’t try the food or beer as I like cocktails. Not a bad price for the drinks. The first time the drinks were great. The second time, it was a different bartender. It was as if there was no alcohol in them at all. Just a waist of money. I am very glad I tried it but I don’t think I’ll go back.
We had the elkburger with tater tots and it was delicious. They cooked it to a perfect medium-rare and the mozarella complimented it well. Highly recommend. Next time I’ll come by on Friday for the fish-fry.
Came here after a 7 mile hike, and couldn’t have found a better place to enter. The atmosphere was incredible, the food was delicious and the wait staff were exactly what you’d want. Went with 3 friends, no one had anything but good things to say about this place. Very happy with the experience.
Came in as a party of 10 our server was rude, did not introduce herself, brought drinks but did not bring food out & didn’t bother to check on our table until we called her over. Beer was good, maybe she was having a bad day.
There are places in Pine, AZ to eat, but most of the restaurants are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. So today we tried ‘That Brewery’ and it was, by far, the worst experience in a long time. The hamburgers were drier than dry. We had to constantly ask for more ketchup, more ranch for the fried pickles. Nobody asking us for refills on the water. DRY. Dry food is the worst. Pandemic or not, there was no excuse for paying that kind of money with that kind of food and service.
We will never go back and will advertise accordingly…
I really wanted to like this place!! I have followed them on Instagram for 2+ years and driven by several times before I finally had the occasion to stop in. My husband and I had just hiked Fossil Creek, it was my birthday, I was finally getting to visit, what could go wrong??
We sat outside in their large courtyard at a table with an umbrella. The place was about half full. Our waitress could hardly be bothered to serve us throughout our visit. We sat ready to order for 10 minutes which probably seemed longer because we were tired and parched from our hike.
We both got the Road Rash IPA because it sounded fantastic and just our kind of beer. Well it was a dirty tasting IPA, I can’t even name any of the flavors in it, it just was not good. We split a bowl of the elk and beef chili as an appetizer and that was one of the good things about our visit. It was very tasty.
We both got a 1/2 sampler Smokehouse Platter and were both sorely disappointed. The ribs and chicken were dry and the brisket was rubbery. The slider buns were not fresh. The smashed garlic potatoes were dry and flavorless. The sautéed brussels sprouts were soggy. The smoked baked beans were delicous and one of the other good things about this visit.
We both tried different beers with our meals, I got a Strawberry Blonde which was fantastic and hubby got an Arizona Trail Ale which he liked much better than the Road Rash.
Since it was my birthday I wanted to get a dessert. We sat for 10 minutes with empty water glasses, empty beer glasses and obviously finished plates with utensils and napkins stacked on them. We both agreed that it was not worth mentioning the birthday thing since nobody there would give a hoot. Against my better judgement I ordered the molten lava cake anyway and guess what? It was dry and rubbery and tasteless.
No surprise we had to wait a bit to get our check and get out of there. I have not been so disappointed in a restaurant for some time. There are far better dining options in PIne, save your time and money and visit one of them!!
7. Pine Strawberry Thrift Shop
Address: 3916 N, 3916 AZ-87, Pine, AZ 85544 , Pine , Arizona , United States
Good price and quality. They always have some surprise sale whenever we pop in!
Love it! We always find something we can’t live without. Ramp in the front for wheelchairs. And restrooms available.
GREAT finds!! Love this place!
Thrift store typical stuff
Enjoyable Community Center
Good thrift shop, but Victoria one of the volunteers is beyond rude. She makes this place stressful and not helpful. Hopefully her supervisor sees this review and has a chat w her as this place is suppose to help the seniors in the area.
The cashier was extremely rude.
I come in here frequently but this time I don’t know what the lady’s problem was but she was extremely rude. I usually love coming here to peruse the shelves but she made it an extremely unpleasant experience. I don’t think I will be back again.
8. Pine Creek Fudge Ice Cream & Espresso
Address: 3617 AZ-87 Box 568, Pine, AZ 85544 , Pine , Arizona , United States
Stopped there after walking through Pine for ice tea and cinnamon roll. Delicious and reasonably priced.
We took a group of 22 people here when we found out our first choice was closed. We showed up just 15 minutes before closing and not once were we made to feel like our last minute big group was unwelcome. In fact the opposite was true, we were made to feel welcome and not rushed. They gave samples if needed and to top it off the place was bright and clean and we felt like we happened upon a better experience than we had planned. The ice cream was delicious and we will definitely be going back. Thank you!!
Fantastic service, friendly staff and delicious treats! Cant wait to go back!
Service a little slow and confused.
Fudge was amazing! The guy behind the counter lacks people skills heavily. Clean and cute place to stop in pine.
They were mostly closed due to Covid but we had ice cream. It was basic dryers in a cone but good.
Rude lady serving overpriced coffee
Not sure who the older lady is that works in the front but she’s kind of negative and doesn’t seem happy to be there
Need to update the business hours, it said it was open until 5pm and it was closed at 4:30pm on a Saturday.
9. Skys in Pine
Address: 4078 AZ-87, Pine, AZ 85544 , Pine , Arizona , United States
I think you are definitely a 5 star person that’s for sure! It’s a privilege and a pleasure to do business with you.
I love the Taylor 410 that found its way to me through you. The previous owner must have truly loved this instrument because there is not a ding or a scratch on it. It looks brand new but it’s finer, because it is seasoned, and I really can appreciate that.
This guitar sounds and plays better than the Taylor 814 I used to own and the neck is a dream to play. Thank you so much for the opportunity to make it mine.
Please let the gentleman know that his guitar found its way into loving arms.
You’re a good man and you have a wonderful way with your customers!
Peace,
Tuli
For a small town store front music store Ric totally delivers with a wide selection of quality instruments, equipment and quality customer based service. If he doesn’t have it in stock, he will the distance to get you what you want or need.
I highly recommend Quigtone to everyone.
11. Pinewood Tavern
Address: 6112 Hardscrabble Mesa Rd, Pine, AZ 85544 , Pine , Arizona , United States
Great burgers. Good service. Lots of craft beers on tap.
nice place to easy and enjoy live music
Sevice was not all that great. They Couldn’t remember What we ordered. We had to ask over and over again to bring us what we ordered. Didn’t seem they knew what they were doing.
Service was really slow and for no apparent reason. Food was just ok. Overpriced.
Food was excellent but prices are a little pricey. Had the rib eye dip and onion rings. EVERYTHING was perfect!!! Onion rings were crispy not greasy . Lots of beef in the sandwich. Husband had pulled pork , Lots of pork in there also, able to have another meal with what fell out of the bun! Great service. Our waiter was busy , somewhat stretched , but he kept his cool and never made us feel neglected or rushed . A great experience except for the prices ..
The service was great but the food and drinks were not. Won’t go back.
During all the covid restrictions- this restaurant refused to serve me “to go”- in person. My husband and I go to Pine multiple times a year and this was one of the last restaurants we were waiting to try. I will not be surprised when it closes. We will never try to eat here again. Good luck forcing people to eat in your restaurant instead of serving people which is your job. I saw multiple employees standing around doing nothing behind the bar and families sitting at tables with empty sodas. Hope ownership reads this post because these employees are making your nice restaurant a joke. If someone in ownership is working weekday nights then they are the problem. If you are considering eating here- I would suggest your money is better spent else where.
Had my last drink in this establishment. My wife had a well bourbon and 7 and I had a well gin and tonic. We each had 2. When I got the bill, the bourbon’s were $4 each. My gin’s were $8 each. I asked the bartender how a well gin and tonic can be double the price of a well Bourbon. She said that’s what it is. Never again!!
12. Old County Inn
Address: 3502 AZ-87, Pine, AZ 85544 , Pine , Arizona , United States
Great homemade food and the staff was so friendly. The whole community is friendly. I know woodfired pizza is their specialty, but we wanted to try the buttermilk chicken fritters (chicken fingers breaded better than your Grandma made) and the roasted portobellos. The portobellos had a slight kick to them and the roasted flavor made them unique and delicious. Very enjoyable and we’ll be back!
This place is excellent! Their wood fire pizzas are to die for! An amazing atmosphere and friendly staff!
Always Good food and good service! The Arizona Greens salad is delish!
Super cute place. Great food. It’s tiny though and if you go on a weekend night expect to wait an hour for your food.
Pizza is OUTSTANDING, wings are OUTSTANDING, awesome place. The wait usually is VERY long. Really recommend going here, just dont go hungry 🙂
Good food and dog friendly
We read the reviews and thought we would try it. We love woodfired pizza. We sat in the Taproom because it was the only available place to sit. We ordered drinks, appetizer and pizza at the same time. We were told that it can take some time so we thought by ordering everything we would get it in a timely manner. Not the case at all. It took quite some time to a drink because they didn’t have any clean glasses. Mind you, we went at 5:00 pm, not the busy time for dinner so I have no idea why there are no clean dishes. I received my drink after 15-20 minutes. We received the appetizer next with no offer for plates. After 60 minutes of waiting, we inquired why we hadn’t received our pizza. I believe it was directed to a nearby table by the bartender, Brandon, who was clearly overwhelmed. After inquiring about why we hadn’t received our entree, he went to the main dining area and informed us that it was delivered to someone by mistake. No offer to rectify the situation. No deduction from our bill. We left without food and still hungry. The customer service is horrible. I have no idea about the food.
Close early. Don’t trust the Google listing. Food is great, but it’s a long curvy drive to get nothing if they randomly decide to close early.
I guess it’s OK we just didn’t think much of waiting an hour for lunch.
13. Lodge at 5600
Address: 4310 AZ-87, Pine, AZ 85544 , Pine , Arizona , United States
The stay at Lodge at 5600 was excellent. The view is amazing and super dog friendly even with blankets provided. The rooms had everything we needed for our stay, even flannel sheets on the bed. We enjoyed coffee at The Elk Brew both mornings before we headed out to hike. Will definitely be back!
My husband and I stayed for a weekend getaway from the valley. We were so incredibly comfortable while still feeling like we were out in nature. Pine and Strawberry had fun places to eat, and we enjoyed driving down forest roads to explore during the day. We loved coming back to our room each evening, enjoying the balcony and the view, the fireplace and the cozy blankets, and especially the ceramic mugs and actual whiskey glasses in the room. Little touches and amenities made us feel welcome and at home. The bathroom was gorgeous and spa-like. We didn’t want to leave!
Room very clean. Nicely set up for comfort. Extra throw blankets to sit by the fire. We ordered wine and gallons for a birthday. Very nicely set up. Highly recommend. Coffee shop on site. Friendly and helpful ownership/staff.
Good location, right in between Pine and Strawberry. It’s more like an airbnb, so you have to call for service if you need something. The room was on the smaller side but a wonderful shower. Loved the fireplace, super cute. The outside patio area is nice, I’d recommend the 2nd floor if you want privacy and sit outside. Beautiful view and lovely setup, but outside game area advertised was not available for some reason, just blocked off.
Safety: Need to improve safety for access and egress from dirt parking off highway.
Try unlocking access gate from parking lot. It is well lighted with a nice concrete pathway. Also, add better lighting in the upper parking lot .
I’ve been visiting Pine / Strawberry my entire life and it’s a special place. It’s interesting to see how the area has evolved, and in many ways has stayed the same. Lodge 5600 is a newly constructed, small boutique hotel and is a welcome addition to the quaint mountain town of Pine.
The tastefully appointed rooms are modern, clean, comfortable and all perfectly situated to capture sweeping views of the Pine Valley with its dense stand of Ponderosa Pines — the view here steals the show. The hotel seems a world away from the hustle, bustle (and heat) of PHX. The usually peaceful setting can get a little rowdy on weekends when fun loving Phoenicians descend on the area to blow off steam and ride off-road vehicles on the numerous area trails.
The hotel is currently run more like an AirBnb, with contactless check-in and door codes to entry. So, you are mostly on your own, communicating with the owners via email and text. The owners are generally reachable, and reasonably responsive (I say this based on my conversations with other guests – I had no need to reach out myself) It’s not quite the same level of service that having onsite staff would provide, but I expect most people wouldn’t find it an issue. The owners do frequently visit the property and greet the guests as they come and go. You do feel there is still a personal touch.
Unfortunately, the on-site bakery/cafe Life is Sweets has moved out, which I was really looking forward to having just outside my room. But Pine is very small and there are a couple great breakfast options, like The Early Bird. For dinner, Old County Inn has good pizzas and varied food options — when many of the town’s other taverns seem to share the same menu.
If you like your rustic mountain town visit to include a touch of comfort and modern amenities, Lodge 5600 is it. There is no better hotel option for a stay in Pine or Strawberry.
The big problem was when housekeeping came barging into our room, no knock no nothing, and there was no security lock on the inside. This was not my first stay, but disappointed enough it may have been my last. Unfortunately the small coffee cafe was closed the Monday and Tuesday during our stay. The least these greedy owners should have done, was discount the room, being they were trying for a free show.
Horrible business, highly recommended other places in the area as strawberry is gorgeous but stay away from Lodge at 5600. Customer service is poor and communication is little to none.
We are locals and they blare their music so loud you can hear it inside your home. Very rude and disrespectful to the community. Please turn it down!!!!!
14. Pine Creek Cabins
Address: 3901 AZ-87, Pine, AZ 85544 , Pine , Arizona , United States
Beautiful, clean and amazing views. Great location.
Great place.
Absolutely great! Comfortable and clean. Had a great time when it was 115 in the valley. My only suggestion would be to bring what you might need for the kitchen and grill. It’s impossible for them to be able to stock everything.
Also, I wanted to mention, I accidentally left a personal article that was very sentimental to me up there and Bob went above and beyond to help me get it returned. We are very much looking forward to our next stay.
Very nice cabin. AC unit was very loud.
Great place!
Great cabins to stay in the very center of pine.
If you looking for a place that offers a jet tub. Look else where.
The new owner does not take responsibility for them and made way to many excuse why there was bugs in the them and how he was going to be removing them. We had to spend 3 hours cleaning bugs from the system to be able to use it.
We pay a cleaning fee and why to have bugs in the tub?
Plus the children’s playground area is very unsafe. Top part to slide was busted out laying on the ground. And left open with broken spike like wood for kids to get hurt on.
And the last time we where there with this new owner. The fireplace didn’t even work.
He never offered any kind of compensation for any of this stuff and past off to they are not used enough to be keep up with. The other owner NEVER had any problem making sure she took care of us if there was anything wrong… We miss you Linda!
Plenty of other beautiful place to go for the price they charge
15. Bandits Restaurant
Address: 5079 AZ-87, Pine, AZ 85544 , Pine , Arizona , United States
Very nice owner , and the alligator tails are to die for
Owners helped us out when we had to stay in due to road closures because of the snow. Food was also good!
Sincerely,
Uncrowned champ of cornhole
Amazing! I’ll be going there again for sure. Their cheese curds are on point. Their patty melt was excellent. Their food in general was great! I hope they get the backbone fire under control because I plan on going back to support this establishment again. Awesome ambiance also. CHECK THIS PLACE OUT FOLKS, YOU’RE GONNA LOVE IT!
Good tacos on Taco Tuesday. Good selection of draft beers.
On tap beer is super cold! Dog friendly place. The Dirty Cowboy pilsner is tasty, definitely worth a try if passing thru.
Love this place!!
Can handle the unfriendly Bar keep but the San Tan beer on tap was luke warm. Blah! Only had the one!
I got a burger and fries because it said ANGUS BURGER on the menu. It was NOT ANGUS. DEFINITELY CHUCK, HEAVY ON THE BUTTER.
The soda fountain was heavily watered down as well and tasted horrible, tried multiple beverages.
They served my wife sour cottage cheese.
Food is unseasoned. Don’t get the meatloaf or open faced prime rib. Stick to appetizers

17. Cheezys Wood Fired Pizza Pine, AZ
Address: 3678 AZ-87, Pine, AZ 85544 , Pine , Arizona , United States
Cheezys is by far the best pizza we’ve had up here! We ordered pepperoni & margherita pizzas! The fresh toppings & wood fired crispy crusts were excellent! The owner was very friendly & down to earth. We highly recommend Cheezy’s & will be definitely be back!
Amazing pizza!! One of the things we look forward to most when coming up here.
Great pizza, fast and very friendly service. I love to have good options.
