The BEST empanadas ever!! Chef was so kind and the renovations look beautiful!!
Great deli and loads of candy
Such a cute, fun, adorable place! A real gem to find!
Pleasant afternoon visit. Good ice cream. Nice selection of candy. Need to do some work on the patios. Will return
Quaint shop where you can get food and knick knacks and also sandwiches and drinks friendly staff.
A bit pricey, but a very cute store.
Literal rocks in the chicken sandwich we purchased on Sunday.
Edit: this is not a fake review. I’ve never been here prior to this visit we have no connection with this restaurant in any way. You can check your transaction log we purchased two chicken sandwiches around 5 pm. We were debating calling, but assumed we would get the response similar to what you see below.
Sandwich was great…
Bought some of their classic candy half of it was old and stale.
They need to pay more attention to the freshness of their candy stock.
Usually the classic candy is good…Guess I found a old batch.
3. Bristol Music Center
Address: 248 Main St, Bristol, CT 06010 , Plymouth , Connecticut , United States
After years of guitar I decided to try violin. We ended up at BMC one day looking for a bow. We met Chris, started talking and I have now been taking lessons from him for 3 months. He is an excellent teacher! The whole staff at this shop are so friendly and knowledgable, family atmosphere. So glad I ended up here that day!
Had a really positive experience at this shop. Went in to have my daughter sized for a violin after taking a violin my dad inherited from his father apprised at another local luthier. The owner was very welcoming and knowledgeable while the luthier took his time looking over my father’s violin. Will be returning to purchase a student violin and to have my father’s violin repaired so we can see how it sounds.
Great teachers, fair prices. Scott is probably one of the greatest Luthiers in the northeast he will tell you exactly what you need. Or do whatever you want I. Have nothing but respect for Scott and Bob.great store I wouldn’t bring my instruments any where else to get set up (and Im very fussy with my gear)
I purchased four music lessons when I bought my guitar last April. The owner, Scott, did not make me aware on paper or in any written form of any policy about expiration of lessons.
I had two remaining appointments and I would have renewed for more. I never booked the last two appointments. Please see the text conversation with the music instructor. If I didn’t show up for a lesson, I understand losing an appointment but this is not the case for the two remaining lessons.
As a fitness trainer, I have clients who have not exercised with me due to COVID. I don’t tell them when they are ready to come back (a year later), sorry your training sessions at $70 an hour expired because of a policy I said verbally to you when you joined. This is not what I consider good customer service and not of honest business practices.
Any other music shop would do better than Bristol Music Center. Do not waste your money!
4. Music For People
Address: 275 Bunker Hill Rd, Watertown, CT 06795 , Plymouth , Connecticut , United States
The desk staff are welcoming, very nice, and patient.
My son meshes well with his piano teacher. She lets him play the kind of music he wants to play which I believe is important for helping to maintain interest and desire to play. His skill has improved greatly with her.
The employees are very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. A big shoutout to Rob for his help today.
Rob has been fantastic helping me with my instrument rental and purchase. He was very attentive at listening to what I was looking for and researched several options to me to select from. He was very knowledgeable and was able to provide great insight and recommendations. He went far above and beyond my expectations and made the process so easy. I wouldn’t hesitate recommending working with Rob to anyone!
I whould l8ke to buy aking or yamaha euphonium
8. George’s Music Center
Address: 905 New Harwinton Rd, Torrington, CT 06790 , Plymouth , Connecticut , United States
I walked in and I was helped immediately and I had all of my questions answered with enthusiasm. I played 7 different guitars , under supervision of course. This is great place to to go of you are starting out or have years of knowledge.
George’s music was very clean and has a good stock of the necessities for any instrument.
Great service and products. Bought the right equipment for my needs. Excellent staff, helpful and knowledgeable.
Meh
Nice shop
If you’re not looking to go too far to get musical instruments. Look no further. Expensive though. But if you don’t care about prices, go for it. Not much of a selection though.
After going to this place; I must say I will never go back there again. The owner is so rude and disrespectful. Its not even funny. The owner needs get off his anthropocentric state of mind.
This place is just awful. The owner is so rude to us that i will never go back. We rented an instrument from him because our normal music store didnt have the instrument and when the instrument broke he said it was our fault and that it wasnt covered and then bad mouthed our local music store.
9. The Music Shop
Address: 22 Mc Dermott Ave, Torrington, CT 06790 , Plymouth , Connecticut , United States
Super nice owner. Shared his knowledge about local music scene and programs. I am coming back!!!
Our 13 year old son has been taking private saxophone lessons at ” The Music Shop” for over 4 years, starting with Leo Liddle. Keith Wilson, a very talented musician took over as his teacher and we love his dedication and perseverance to help expand our son’s musical knowledge with the sax, while also making it fun. The expansion of his new location makes the updated atmosphere a wonderful learning environment, and also has great on site repair service.

10. Martel Music Store
Address: 1 Whiting St, Plainville, CT 06062 , Plymouth , Connecticut , United States
I drive 40 mins to shop here, i love this store and their great selections of brands and products.
Took a lesson there and will definitely be back!! Very knowledgeable and patient staff
Fantastic customer service! Great selection and super knowledgeable staff!
Interesting store with some interesting gear. They don’t seem to carry Fender or Gibson. They had a stomp box manufacturing class going on when I visited.
As one reviewer already stated. They have a terrible return policy especially with online purchases. Good store as long as you know you’re going to keep the item but who really knows, its musical gear, its hard to tell if your going to dig it or not until you play it with your rig. Returning a pedal (or probably anything) is just not worth it due the return fees. 2 stars because I received it pretty quickly but definitely wasn’t packed that well. Without a doubt this will be my last purchase from this store. There’s plenty of other great stores to choose from that won’t bend you over on return fees. **Edit for response to the owner** Yes you do clearly state your return fees online. “Small restocking fee” is a bit of an understatement…your restocking fee is 10%. If I pay $250 for a guitar pedal. Right off the bat you’re keeping $25 of my return. I couldn’t imagine purchasing a guitar online through your store.
Purchased a guitar for 750, now walking out with 637. Unfortunately I was not told about a very unfair and sneaky return exchange policy until I had asked after already completing the purchase. Also could not see clearly a visible sign inside that states anything about a return policy. When I asked where the sign was upon trying to return this guitar he pointed to have a corner and I still did not see the sign. I do believe that a return policy sign should be at the register for full disclosure. The law does state you are entitled to a full refund if you are not told about the refund policy during the time of the transaction, which I was not informed of that. Limited selection and unfortunately subject to a very steep restocking fee or store credit, if you are a serious musician make sure you know this first as you know that buying instruments is quite expensive and it is hard to want to get locked into something that you do not truly love.
11. Seery Strings
Address: 156 Summer St, Bristol, CT 06010 , Plymouth , Connecticut , United States
This man knows more about instruments than most other people know about most other stuff.
Very nice store
Before he even opened the case, he knew what I had.
An old favorite1960’s Italian made Galanti.
The neck had a slight twist and I could not get it in tune…I was ready to just hang in on my wall.
He fixed the neck and set it up, intonation, bridge and fixed a faulty wire. Gary’s prices are fair, and he is very knowledgeable.
I recommend him for any tech work.
Knocked on the door and this angry guy opens it. I asked if they sell XLR cables since they are a music store and the guy just stared at me and said XLR cables aren’t for guitars. Then he continued to stare at my angrily and I said have a great day. WEIRD AND WILL NEVER GO BACK.
Shoddy workmanship
13. Woodbury Music Shop
Address: 766 Main St S, Woodbury, CT 06798 , Plymouth , Connecticut , United States
A hidden gem UPSTAIRS. Don’t miss it. Dave the owner is great, and talented. Patrick Gill is the PREMIER guitar TECH in the whole northwest CT region. He works miracles at a very fair price. Excellent teachers, Will for piano and keyboards and Mike for guitar and bass. Better check them out. I only trust my guitars to Dave and Patrick. Won’t go anywhere else. Seriously.
Great honest shop here. Had a great online interaction with Dave via email. Want to know why I trust them? Because they talked me out of a purchase. Ha! Thanks again!
Woodbury Music is the best shop around of all of your instrument needs! The shop owner Dave, is both friendly & knowledgeable! I have gotten both common things done (fixing of saxophone keys) as well as unusual things done (fixing of a dulcimer bridge) and everyone has always been great! I have also taken lessons for almost three years now, and my teacher Mike is not only a dedicated teacher, but also a very talented professional. Stop by and check it out!
14. The Music Shop
Address: 405 Queen St, Southington, CT 06489 , Plymouth , Connecticut , United States
Cannot saying anything negative about the Music Shop. I always recommend you to friends and family. My experience has been positive. Your staff is friendly and always helpful. My teacher amazing. I’ll miss my lessons but will stop in now an then when I need something. Sincerely, Claudia “
I’ve been doing business with Scott at the music shop for years, he knows about the needs of musicians and great on any repairs or just info on your current instrument. Will hopefully be doing many more years here.
The cellos were in not in good shape and we had to pay a luthiere to redo repairs that were poorly done when we received the instrument.
Great place but website could be better such as pics of some used equipment. I’m a drummer and would like to see what they have for new and used cymbals, stands, drum kits etc. And prices. I have done business with them and always had a great experience the reason for three stars is the website doesn’t do the music shop justice. All and all great store great people.
15. Be the Music LLC
Address: 108 Southwind Rd, Waterbury, CT 06708 , Plymouth , Connecticut , United States
I’ve been taking guitar lessons for years then a friend told me about Rt. 7 music…OMG!
I learned more in 5 lessons than I did in 2 years at the other place I was going to. The teachers there are fantastic!!!
I brought a recently-bought, used strat to Phil for a general tune-up. He did a wonderful job. First of all, he listened to what I wanted. He asked me fine points about setup details – like whether I wanted to leave the trem as floating slightly even with the string gauge change. He was clear on timing (with an upcoming holiday) and beat his conservative estimate of when the instrument would be ready. This guy loves guitar and takes pride in his work. I would definitely use him again.
Very happy with the customer service and staff at Route 7 Music. They are a great bunch of guys, and our daughter has learned so much from Gary on drums. She loves the lessons, looks forward to them and actually likes practicing. Thanks for making learning an instrument a positive, fun experience!
Do not follow hours on door or website, very dissapointing 🙁
We stopped in right before closing while walking to a restaurant, but the guy working was still super nice and offered to stay and told us to take our time. We’ll be back again, we were impressed
Manager and Staff were excellent they were patient and helpful
Great location. They don’t have boxes laying around. The Staff and teachers are great. Parking is rough, hoof it or pay up.
Yeah it’s good!
I have condensed my original rant down to the following- we really like our children’s teachers- but the front desk needs saving
Limited retail space, but the staff is helpful and knowledgeable. Music lessons are offered on site.
My child joined band program at her school in West Hartford. Using their online system, I placed an order for instrument rental and a book for the program. The date I placed my order, they charged my credit card.
However, they never delivered the instrument until I called and confirm the status. The book was never delivered with the instrument. A week later, I called them to confirm about the book. They told me that it was back ordered. Since the book was available in Amazon for next day delivery, I asked Music & Arts to cancel my book order.
After few weeks, I still did not have my credit back for the book. I called them to ask for the refund, and the customer service told me that I have to return the book (which was never delivered!) in order to get the refund and hang up on me. I used the chat function on their website to explain the situation. Here, the customer service told me that they would never charge the credit card unless the item is delivered, and conversation did not go anywhere. (Again, my credit card was charged on the date I placed order!) Not knowing what to do, I called the store in West Hartford, left my phone number with an employee so the manager can call me back. No one called me back. I sent polite email to the manager, and also emailed the customer service. No response from anyone.
I will NOT order anything from this business in the future.
Make sure you ask questions. I signed my son up for instrument lessons over the phone and the woman asked me if I preferred West Hartford or East Hartford. I chose the one closest to my home, on the day of the first lesson, I brought my son to the store for the lesson and they tell me its an online lesson. An ONLINE lesson? No one ever said a thing about an online lesson and why would you ask me which store Id like to go to if the lesson was online!?
Go to the one in East Hartford much better . They only want to help when you make major purchases.
