Excellent one stop shop for all your guitar needs. Scored an awesome gig bag at a reasonable price as well as a decent starter Austin amp. Stan the Man was more than helpful and went above and beyond to take care of my purchases as well as answer my questions. It’s customer service attitude makes you feel at home. A very under appreciated local music establishment that makes you want to come back the next time around which I will be doing.
Amazing shop, lots of stuff for anyone into playing music. Stan is incredibly helpful and goes the extra mile (ten more miles, really). Highly recommend this shop to anyone.
Excellent people who above and beyond to help and answer all questions.

Great store. The owner came out and talked to me for quite a while and I was just there to look around while traveling for work.
This place is way better than any other shop around here. Really friendly staff as well, and killer variety of stuff.
My husband was so happy . Thank you so much
It’s a really good place. Sorry, we were the ones that crashed intk the building
A good old school music store.
This place is so bad I’d rather go to guitar center and I hate guitar center. They are fine if you’re just going for lesson but if you’re doing any type of business seriously save yourself the trouble and go to any other local store or guitar center.
My experiences their have been very bad. Only 2 people in the store know anything. The owner who name is Art is a complete and total jerk!!! Don’t expect him to respect you unless you are spending loads of Cash. His workers are nice. The store though just feels dusty everytime I walk in their. This has been my experience. Use to like them now Im just fed up with customer service. They do have rare gear tho. Which for me is why I liked visiting their.
I am in a spot where I need a bass today. I came in 10/8/22 ready to buy. After 10 minutes, a sales associate said hi from across the room. After another 12 minutes, every staff was chatting with the one other customer in the store, ignoring us. No wonder the place is empty every time I drive by. I hate going to guitar center, but places like this leave you little choice when you’re ignored and not helped at all. I couldn’t reach the bass I was going to purchase, so I’m just done waiting for the chatting giggly employees hanging in their “clicky” circle.
6. Swing City Music Co
Address: 244 S Buchanan St, Edwardsville, IL 62025 , Pontoon Beach , Illinois , United States
Been a loyal customer for over 20 years. Staff knowledgeable and always willing to help. From rock band to school band, they have what I need.
Staff was nice, they’ve got some good deals too!
Two location. If they don’t have what you need here try the store in Collinsville.
Probably my favorite guitar shop
Staff is nice. Small store, but if they don’t have it, they order it and get it to you within a couple days.
Was at the Edwardsville store this afternoon and one of the employees was very unhelpful and rude. Instead of helping he just told me everything was out of my price range. He doesn’t know me or how much money I had in my pocket. Will never go back!.
I use to be an avid customer. But I am growing more and more frustrated with the management. I feel like I’m going into a sleazy used car dealership most the time and I am treated like a waking wallet. I’ve bought some guitars and amps there, so I am (or was) returning customer . The employees act fake and I feel like everyone is treated like they are a child. I was going in there to look around if there was any new stock, the employee kept on hovering and was forcing me to play the instrument I didn’t want to try.
Honestly, go to mojos. This place is as unpleasant as a guitar center
Nice selection of guitars and amps. Phillip was a great help and a cool guy
I’ve picked up many things from Mojos over the years (Taylor, Duesenberg, eDrums, sticks, heads, strings, PA equipment, recording gear, picks, cables, orchestra books) and every single time I received great service, no pressure and an awesome price. Some things were special ordered for less then you’d find online. Lessons for the entry level and expert musicians. Plus, I just love these people! They’re a pleasure to chat with and really give back to our community. What more could you ask for? Support local businesses and shop Mojo’s
Their instructors and staff are as great as they come, and they really care about everyone that walks into the store. They’ve expanded their selection of both beginner and “middle range” guitars, but their true specialty is higher end guitars and amps that you won’t find anywhere else. For an experienced guitarist, Mojo’s is an awesome field trip to take if you want to see some guitar and amp brands you won’t find anywhere else.
Lots of inventory and they are willing to deal
Fun shop for sure! Eye candy hanging on all the surrounding walls. The shop’s main focus is guitars so it’s definitely the place to go if that’s your go to instrument. Workers are knowledgeable and always very helpful. It’s no breaking news that guitar shops tend to give off awkward, intimidating vibes (understandably so when you visit any shop with high pricetagged merch) and I do have to try and hide my feelings of squirminess while there, but I enjoy going and will continue to.
After years of taking time off from playing music, band break up really made me step away, I’ve decided to look around for a new guitar and rig, have gone to Mojo’s, have purchase three terrific instruments from them in the past 15 years, never had a bad experience, today, however, was not the same. I walked into a store deflated of its prior pulse, I was seen and ignored, walked around looking for what would be my next stage guitar. Two employees, yet no time to greet, or attempt to make a sale, to show products, I even made an attempt by asking what’s new, even then not a singular spark of interest in my affairs with them was of significance. I walked out of there for the last time, sad to see such a place become so cold and uninviting.
I went in to get my guitar repaired, the staff members sat at the counter and talked and ignored me for several minutes. Then after they finally looked at my guitar it turned out to be a very expensive repair so I decided to just buy a new guitar. One would think this would be cue to start selling a guitar, instead they ignored me some more and made me feel awkward for playing any guitar they had. So I went to swing city music right down the road and they instantly came to help and found a guitar that was right for me.

Dan is an excellent drummer. Even though he has not given me lessons personally, our band has hired him on numerous occasions for private and public gigs. Dan has always been professional, friendly, and accommodating. He shows up to gigs on time and is prepared to play the songs on our set list. He is an excellent drummer and has what we feel, is a natural ability to pick up on the rhythm of songs. We are a band at the place at least three times a month so we have a lot of experience with various drummers. Dan has always been one of the best and one of the first we call when we need someone.
He is incredibly articulate and has a way of explaining the mechanics of the voice so that they can be understood. He knows what to listen for and is very quick to hear when there is something in the sound of the voice that may point to improper mechanics, or tension, or really anything that could be a barrier between you and the music. Furthermore, on top of diagnosing any issues, he knows the correct exercises to help you become aware of how to overcome any issues
If I ever did not understand a certain technique, Peterson would go out of his way to explain it multiple ways until I understood. He not only taught me how to read music, he taught me the fundamental basics of music so I could break down pieces on my and begin to write my own. We also had jam sessions at the end of each lesson so I could learn basic chords while having fun.
Our son had his first lesson with Caleb…he had so much fun. Caleb really catered piano lessons to Max’s personality, age, and interests. Great experience so far!
14. Trusty Chords Record Shop
Address: 1514c Troy Rd, Edwardsville, IL 62025 , Pontoon Beach , Illinois , United States
Great record store nothing but killer stuff you can always find something even if not looking
Such a wide variety of records, CDs and cassettes. Accessories too!
Super cool
Overpriced on majority of everything. Some of us like first pressings, not stuff I can roll down to Target and Walmart and find 15 bucks cheaper. Luckily, there are other great spots to buy from(Rich’s is number 1 and then Riverbend)
Wide selection of new and used vinyl, many cd’s as well!
Nice little shop if you have a 50 dollar bill in your pocket. Majority of his stock is remastered which is not “real” experience of listening to say KISS Alive on vinyl. Buy from eBay instead or Rich in Collinsville.
Would NEVER recommend. Awful owner. Just simply unprofessional
Also- I have visited, this review is based on PERSONAL EXPERIENCE. Thank you. Your response is unnecessary.
Extremely unprofessional owner. Will recommend to family and friends not to shop here. Will take my business elsewhere
Unfriendly and unprofessional owner AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!

As an adult student, I find Paul a great instructor. He knows the frustration an adult can have with not only learning new things but also the physical ability to do it. He works with the individual at one’s pace and goes to extreme lengths to help one understand what is to be done. He encourages practice for specific purposes which makes me more dedicated to practicing. My abilities have improved greatly in the short time I have taken lessons from Paul. I feel extremely lucky to have such a wonderful, talented asset to learn from!
Paul is a wonderful violin instructor and is extremely easy to work with. He is knowledgeable and passionate about music education and makes learning the violin a true pleasure. I have a great deal of respect for him and have learned a tremendous amount in the three years that I have studied with him.

Loved geeking out with those folks. Next level sound equipment.
Records and turn tables… whats better?
Great Vintage Record store and turntable repair.
We live in Belleville and that was well worth the drive there. Would have traveled even further. Very nice selection, beats other shops around the area easily.
I had no expectations in this store. However when I came in there I was met with friendly people. Very helpful staff got answers to my vinyl related questions bought a few items. Very satisfied with my purchases.
I love having a local record store. The owner is knowledgeable and friendly and has a nice selection of sound equipment. Used and new vinyl. Drop in you will like it.
I’ve lived in Collinsville for 5 months now. I can’t figure out when this store is open. I’ve come by 6 times with money in my pocket. I’m disgusted! I DO NOT recommend this store!
Doesn’t answer phone. Doesn’t open on time. Waste of time.
I was quoted a price of $59.99 to clean my receiver. I brought it in then the story changed to $59.99 an hour and they werent sure how long it would take. 1) im not writing you a blank check especially after being quoted a price.
2) if youve ever cleaned a receiver you should have an idea as to how long it takes: if you havent i dont want you practicing on my vintage receiver .
3) i get if there were other issues found it would cost more but the cleaning should be fairly cut and dry.
Might be a fantastic record store but i wouldnt bring anything here to be worked on !
17. McDonald’s
Address: 2 Engineers Rd, Pontoon Beach, IL 62040 , Pontoon Beach , Illinois , United States
I used the online grocery pick up and everything is clearly labeled as to where to go unlike some other walmarts. As soon as I parked the employee came out. He was very nice and professional. Food substitutions were good picks. 5 star experience. I live closer to two other Walmarts but this is my favorite
Place was packed but got through in decent time
Overall is a good Walmart, the layout is a bit weird for me though just because it’s significantly different from the Walmart close to where I used to live.
It was good and all but it is just not kid friendly music
I found it difficult to make purchases. Was followed around felt profiled like I was shoplifting and I spend more money than I’d like too
No handicap scooters available only saw 1 person in store on one.
ORDERED ONLINE AND RECEIVED THE WRONG PRODUCT AND STILL DON’T HAVE THE $$ BACK !! NEVER AGAIN !!!
Do not shop there on Saturday they do not have enough of employee as a cash register be prepared to wait in 20 30 40 minute lines
While the store has improved they still rarely have what you need.
