Great little gem of a store. Always has something cool hanging on the walls. Great prices and Bill is a super nice guy. Love this place!! Highly recommend.
My go to music shop for over 15 years! The best!
Friendly staff who is always willing to help the customer!
The previous owner Bill treated his customers like family until he sold his shop to a bunch of crooks, I needed the new owner Kenny to put new strings on my guitar and he could not even do that right because my strings broke one after the other and when I asked him to restring the guitar he ordered that I’d have to pay him for the strings again and re-installation and when I asked for a refund he said “Absolutely not, because this would’ve never happened with any of my other customers” I asked “why are you doing this?” And he replied “what are you going to do about it?”
3. Patrick’s Books & Records Store, New Port Richey
Address: 6629 US-19, New Port Richey, FL 34652 , Port Richey , Florida , United States
We visited this gem of a shop today for the first time. Patrick was so kind and fair with prices. There are SO many hidden treasures in here. We will be visiting often!
I love this store. The owner, Patrick is friendly, helpful, and very knowledgeable about all types of music. He has made some great recommendations and the prices can’t be beat.
Neighborhood record store specializes in re-selling collections. He will work with you on price.
Fair
Great selection. Prices seem to run higher than other record shops and online but maybe for haggling purposes. Wish him success but kind of out of the way of anything
Awful service what kind of business won’t even answer the phone for a customer to at least ask a simple question this place won’t receive my business sense it can’t even answer there phone
Was kicked out of the store and banned for no reason at all. Judging the other reviews, this seems to be a common occurrence. I even asked the other stores in the plaza, and they said that he does this often. Not the best way to treat paying customers.
Hoarder type store…lots of stuff you can’t even access. Owner qas a bit surley. Top end pricing.
4. Best Buy
Address: 9409 US-19 Ste 601, Port Richey, FL 34668 , Port Richey , Florida , United States
Spectrum should take lessons from Best Buy for best in store customer service.
I like their product and their service was good
Service was great and helpful
Good customer service!
Help was good!
They lost a tv sale over a stolen pair of sheets. Egyptian cotton but never the less. Way to prioritise guys. Never again goin back!
I really hate this Best Buy. I like what they have to offer but I hate their systems and some of their staff. The last 3 times that we’ve gone there, there has been an issue during check out. First with the Best Buy Rewards Card, second time with their Gamers Club, then with both this last time. The cashier kept signing us up for the Best Buy Rewards card and it kept not working and just overall being messed up in the system. The Gamers Club is suppose to be attached to the rewards card and it kept saying it wasn’t at check out even though we just got our bonus for trading in games 10 minutes prior to checking out. They even looked up by phone number 3 times and it kept not working for the first cashier guy. He called someone else over who tried and magically it worked after he tried twice despite the fact the guy tried the same exact thing. Checking out should be quick for one item and yet it always takes 15 minutes or more to check us out. That doesn’t even count the time we spend waiting for staff to notice that someone needs to check us out to begin with. There is one lady there that has checked us out multiple times and she is just awful every time. She’s super slow and never can do anything on her own. She ALWAYS has to call someone over. We’ve seen her need to call someone else over with other customers on multiple occasions and she’s done it every time with us. For registering a laptop, Gamers Club, Best Buy Rewards, Visa being charged but not providing a receipt (This was the one time I could understand her need for help) and more. It seems the staff can’t do what I expect is a constant daily task. The only issue I experienced at a different best buy is that their stock online was wrong. (It said it was in stock when it wasn’t so I wasted my time driving out there.) This particular Best Buy seems hopeless and overall, Best Buy needs to improve their systems for online and the stores.
Never have I ever had to literally chase (sans running) an employee down at any store, let alone this relatively tiny Best Buy, until patronizing this location.
I was looking to buy a car radio and have it installed. I wanted to speak to someone about the different products. When I finally got someone to talk to me, their only response to my question about product comparison was that I could schedule an installation at customer service… And that’s great! That, however, at the time, was not what I asked.
I understand team members may not possess knowledge on all products in-store, but it would be helpful to provide training on basic product categories so team members can at least have enough working knowledge to provide even a hint of value past shrugging your shoulders and essentially saying “I don’t know, this isn’t my thing. Look online.” It would also help if these employees, at the very least, made sure to “touch” every customer at least once (think in-store lead nurturing). A simple “hi, how can I help you?” at the front of the store seems like such a useless gesture until it doesn’t happen and more time is spent trying to find a person whose value is essentially pointing to bestbuy.com and going from there. No wonder brick-and-mortar stores are dying.
If you’re looking for personalized service, you may have better luck at Walmart. And that really says something.
5. Mullins Music
Address: 5736 Missouri Ave, New Port Richey, FL 34652 , Port Richey , Florida , United States
I’ve known Eric and Marina Mullins for years. It is a beautiful thing that they have created this non-profit Mullins Music to allow all people access to music performance and education. It is particularly meaningful for the children and youth in the community who love learning a skill and special moments like Rock Week. Having said that, the real beauty I see in Mullins Music is in the heart of Eric, Marina, and the team they have assembled. These are genuinely caring people who love people, love music, and are making a positive and lasting impact on lives, the community, and the world.
Great people, and even better music lessons, and recording!!!
Eric and Marina have developed a wonderful program. All the teachers at Mullins Music are truly excellent. In addition to musical skills and experience they bring genuine interest, concern and support to every student. In the welcoming atmosphere of fun and family they encourage and inspire young musicians to grow and gain confidence, not only in their music but in day to day life. We highly recommend the Mullins Music studio for children and adults of all ages.
6. Dawson Sound
Address: 10730 US-19 #6, Port Richey, FL 34668 , Port Richey , Florida , United States
I can’t say enough good things about Dawson Sound. Tyler & Taylor are great and always willing to go above and beyond to ensure we have the best rehearsals. The atmosphere is inspiring & produces fantastic sound quality for use with their great recording skills.
These guys are awesome. They recently updated their studio and it’s sick! Love what they have going on, definitely the spot to hangout for band rehearsals and even if your an up and coming artist. Plus they got a nice audio booth if you’ve got the good voice of the group hahaha
We have been nothing but happy with the service at Dawson Sound. We have used them for rehearsal space and for recording purposes and they have been very flexible and very fun to work with. Highly recommended!
7. Slamo Custom Guitars
Address: 3752 US-19, Port Richey, FL 34652 , Port Richey , Florida , United States
I brought my Loar archtop into Frank for a set up and not only did he do an excellent job he kept me posted on the progress(complete with pics sent to my phone) and finished the job quickly. Its hard to find knowledgeable friendly customer service these days, Slammo Guitars crushes it! Pat Kelly
Frank took the time that was needed to repair my 1979 Gibson explorer and bring it back from the dead. While other shops would not work on my guitar due to its age and value Frank fixed the neck where it had cracked and now there is no sign that was ever any damage in the first place. He also did some incredible fret work on the guitar and spiced it up with some EMG active pickups (these were my decision as he recommended I keep the original pickups). This vintage guitar sounds better than a brand new handmade ESP. I’m extremely happy with the price, the communication during the process and obviously the end result. My guitar is ready for a few more seasons in the abyss.
Very helpful.even if you’re only there to buy strings.and dreaming of some of the masterpieces that fill the walls.also gave me acoustic string pins.the things that hold the strings .whateva they called.thank you very kindly.
Great customer service

code didn’t work too get order needed sales person help
They have food and other stuff. They have an oscar fish he was eating another fish that was given to him by the lady that works there. They have cat litter too. I bought some cat litter for my cat’s poop. I take care of my cat. Cats are mammals they have babies.
This is a pretty good location! Cant control the custo.ers, but staff’s on point!
Nasty
Lots of Walmartians at this store. Woman behind me in line was quite overweight, which is ok, but her clothing didn’t cover her, open back with big bra showing, big tummy exposed. Enforced my weight watching goals. Also, need more checkout registers open!!!!
We always go to this store. I noticed that the employees are clueless! You ask them for something they will just answer you “I dont know”. And take note we complained twice and talked to the manager and told him that people bring dogs and put it inside cart. But nobody make an action. What kind of manager is running this store? Dogs inside the cart where you put your foods!? Are u serious? I hope somebody will take an action to this. That is not sanitary.

13. FOXBLOOM RECORDINGS
Address: 5736 Missouri Ave, New Port Richey, FL 34652 , Port Richey , Florida , United States
David is awesome! He always gets me into the studio a timely manner and he has an incredibly fast turnaround. Just when I think my music is “good” he makes it even better with his magic! Very talented, very in tune and professional. I highly recommend.
Definitely the best producing I’ve experienced! Extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and has the intentions of making anything you’re working on sound the best it possibly can.
David(the owner), has been my music teacher for 6 years. He has helped with so many things all this time, and I truly recommend it for anyone who wants a kind-hearted music teacher. My review should help you get this man as your teacher, without second guessing.
14. Music Matters
Address: 4112 Little Rd, New Port Richey, FL 34655 , Port Richey , Florida , United States
Great store. My son started guitar lessons there and loves it.
My son started 6th grade this year and joined band. He’s learning the bells and the kind gentlemen there at Music Matters, not only found us a really good used set and held it for us, but also made sure he had a music stand for home too!! They made sure he had the music book the school requires him to have as well. I was grateful for their help because I never took band and I was very pleased with the service. I will be going back for any more musical needs. If you are a parent who isn’t sure what your child needs to play, they know, and they were very happy to help.
I take fiddle lessons here. The people are wonderful and extremely helpful. And I of just been hanging out at times and just seeing how they interact with customers and they’re just a bunch of nice people
Great Instructors. No pressure, ample space and knowledgeable staff! Great place for lessons!
Edit: Owner offers whole string change for free. 1 star to 3 stars.
They charged me 5 DOLLARS for one guitar string change. My E string broke and they previously replaced it for free so I bought a pick holder for my guitar. So I came back, and thought I might buy some picks or something if they did it for free or for cheap again, but then the guy at the counter says it would cost 5 whole dollars, 2 for the string, 3 for tuning and setup. The tuning and setup took 30 seconds.
Go somewhere else for string changes or learn it yourself. That’s what I’ll be doing.
More of a place for music lessons than a music shop, but does include a variety of guitar equipment although a bit pricey. The cashier wasn’t too personable, however a friendly and knowledgeable gentleman (could have been an instructor or owner) helped me choose the best pick for my guitar.
If you want to be argued with and insulted when you are more informed than the ‘tech’ go here. Tried to sell me a used accessory out of the ‘techs’ bag for triple the price because the store didn’t have them. Then I showed him the price for a new identical piece and he got flustered and agitated
Visited the store for the first time today. I was interested in buying a Boss pedal, which they seemed to have a good selection of. I was in the store for over ten minutes with just one other customer and no one even said hello. The person behing the counter had even made eye contact with me more than once before going about his business each time. At one point, I had even stood directly in front of him, but he continued to ignore me. I don’t forsee this store being open long with such terrible customer service.
Selling must be a casual hobby, must be trust fund babies . no keyboards , poor service ! Then don’t advertise that you have them.
15. Norton Music
Address: 5645 Main St, New Port Richey, FL 34652 , Port Richey , Florida , United States
Friendly owner. Not too badly priced. I use to get my Trumpet mouthpieces through here. Diversity of musical merchandise.
Been my go to guy for 40 years.
Mom & pop store, decent selection and good prices. And just an all around good guy in Bill the owner!
Nice selection. Wonderfully helpful!
Ok. But to pricey.
All the equipment is nice the guy is just a little weird
Gentleman who answered the phone was not very helpful when I asked for information regarding his left-handed guitar inventory. Almost felt I was annoying him regarding my inquiry. Look elsewhere for informative, helpful, and courteous customer service.
Sad looking store old inventory
Wow! I should have read reviews before even calling. The obviously old and bitter man who answered the phone needs some love in his life and or just needs to stop answering the phone! I called to see about prices on an instrument, of they did trades and or bought other instruments like a Violin we purchased while being stationed in Germany. He rudely told me ” I have violins laying on the floor” a violin is worth about $39.00. I said I wished I had known that when we purchased ours from a beautiful Violin making business in the Bavarian Alps called Mittenwald where we paid over $400 . Realizing he was not interested in our violin, which is perfectly fine I asked him if he had any violins for sale in the store for the $39 he was speaking of because I would LOVE TO BUY SOME FOR THE LOCAL SCHOOLS AND DONATE TO LOW INCOME FAMILIES. I was really excited about the possibility. My son has played this beautiful instrument for years and I know it has absolutely brought him so much joy and pride and I would love to give another child the opportunity to feel how the Violin made my son feel since he was 9. He told me I’m not interested on dealing with violins. I said I want to purchase some from you… I went to ask him his hours when he raised his voice and said I’m not interested in violins they are… I then cut him off because I was on speaker phone and I didn’t want my son to hear this old man speak anymore rudeness about an instrument my child loves and loved playing ( he out grew this one and now has a full size one)
I may have been a tad bit rude when I told the man that he was either #1 lying about his ober abundance of worthless $39 violins lying on his floor or #2 He is just a rude mean bitter man who needs to retire and no longer deal with the public.
He went to say well I am– I assuming he was going to say he is retiring but I just wanted off the phone and told him I wished him much luck, wished him well and hoped he would see that speaking AT someone in his rude tone is not a positive way to run a business.
I highly recommend not dealing with this place ESPECIALLY IF YOU LOVE THE ART OF MUSIC!!!
