Ginormous thanks to Damion the guitar tech at Elledge. Great work from a super individual. Has done adjustments as well as pickup installations for me and excellent work each time. Very cool old shop with very nice people. Support independent and support local!
I love this store don’t listen to the haters out there they didnt give it a chance … the guitar techs are awsome and very insightful and Micheal is fun to speak with always. Not only do they do great work, they have great prices and also support the schools in the area to keep music alive . I give them 5 stars . keep up the great work .
Wednesday night Bluegrass Jam was a hoot, as always!
The store is chock full of cool instruments, it’s manned by very knowledgeable and friendly gentlemen who are first rate musicians in their own right!
Fun music store….. unique classic place
Just purchased a used piano first time at this business friendly staff seemed to have a large inventory of instruments
Really nice man who’ll help you with anything owns this place. Been in Pueblo forever!
Not very helpful he dont know what he’s selling.
I visited this music store with my cousin as his banjo was fixed and ready to be paid and taken home, Also with intent to buy their Luna electric but 5 minutes after entering the store and testing the poorly tuned guitars and tuning them for the store i was told by Mike that we’re too poor and can’t buy anything so I need to leave the store as they are busy and they don’t want to have to clean the guitars anymore from people touching them, (there was no business even going on except for them walking around and watching me or sitting down waiting for a customer.) So my cousin and I promptly left without a word, came back with the cash to pay off the repairs and I told them they lost our business.
If you would like to be treated like a clumsy, dirt poor fool while looking for a new guitar then this is the place for you! Otherwise steer clear of this rude and hateful establishment!
I called, and inquired as to whether he purchased instruments at his location. I am new to the area. He responded “that’s why I have a music store, to buy and sell instruments”. When I gave him my instrument model (custom Ibanez in wonderful condition), he responded again by changing his statement. He said “I have too many instruments, I only want to sell”. I don’t leave reviews often, but this seemed necessary for future shoppers here.
2. Guitar Center
Address: 5759 N Elizabeth St #150, Pueblo, CO 81008 , Pueblo , Colorado , United States
Clean store and good staff. I am not ever bothered when I play something which I like.
Nice merchandise and reasonable prices and good customer service
Just another Guitar Center. Really more interested in making the sale than actual customer service.
There is a new customer service rep that is really cool and helpful which unfortunately Cannot say about all members Of staff but is great place for DJs and musicians alike
After waiting in line for what seemed like an eternity just to buy a key ring for a guitar aficionado the key ring was apparently on the wrong rack. I was prepared to pay the overpriced amount of $9.99 but it rang up as $16!!! The store clerk claimed “somebody” must have moved them to the wrong rack.
No sale!
Full of immature and inexperienced sales people. Not for serious players. Fine for starter instruments for beginners.
I stopped in on Sunday the 30th of July with the intention of buying my first guitar. They have a great selection of inventory. Unfortunately they don’t have great service. I walked around looking at guitars for approximately 20 minutes and never once was approached by one of the 3 associates standing behind the counter. Come to think of it, I wasn’t greeted at all. My intention was to buy my first guitar, amp, and all the other equipment I would need to get started. Not today buddy, not today. I’m in sales and know the steps to a sale. More retailers could benefit from some sales training.
3. Marck Time Music
Address: 2318 Jones Ave, Pueblo, CO 81004 , Pueblo , Colorado , United States
Very well equipped and suited for the musician from beginners to professional!!
Instrument repair
Friendly pricing is fair and they take time to talk to you this is a very good place to go to for your instruments
Had my mouth piece i needed.
The lady’s there are nice.
Have a child that wants to learn how to play a instrument ? Saw the price and thought no way I can make it happen and what if the stop trying or think something else would be more in their lane? Marck Time was my choice. Have payment plans that are reasonable. Repair, sheet music. They know what Dist.60 has going on in their programs and more . Good service and competitive pricing. How much less would the world be without music?
Located across from Pueblo School for Arts and Science.
Dropped off a clarinet for servicing. Waited 2.5 weeks and herd nothing from this shop. Went on to check on it and was told the man that does the work on instruments was out and it would be a few more days. Waited another week. No one called us. Went back to check on it and was told he would look at it in the next 2 days. Waited 3 days and no call again. Went to the shop to pick it up. Told them someone was supposed to service the instrument and it’s been a month we have waited and no one has even called us. The lady just stood there looking lost. Almost like she didn’t know where she was. Take your instrument elseware to have it serviced. This shop needs new management, badly.
Good takes from this. The shop is very clean and neat. The people that run it are very friendly. I really hate to see such a well maintained LOCAL business in this shape. I do hope they can correct whatever is weong internally.
Closed for vacation
These women know nothing these women know nothing about instruments and they definitely do not know what they have in stock. They will lie and make people travel an hour out their way just to not have the item they told you they had.
4. Mountain States Musical
Address: 311 E Abriendo Ave, Pueblo, CO 81004 , Pueblo , Colorado , United States
Little shop, big selection of guitars. The staff here are friendly and have lots of great stories to tell.
Not a great place for drum-related items.
Very friendly, courteous, helpful..with good advice. Not pushy.
I’ve had several guitars set up at Mountain States Musical in the past. The work was well-performed and done quickly. I wish the review ended there.
Recently (as in this afternoon), I took two guitars in to have them set up. When asked where I got them, I truthfully said I got them both on the Internet, one as a brand new instrument from an authorized Fender dealer and the other as a used private party sale. The new Strat needed basic intonation and action set as well as having some sprouting fret ends filed down. The used Dot needed just intonation and action setup.
Immediately after this, I was quoted $125-130 each to do the setup work on them including a $90 “up charge for Internet instruments.” When I asked why the up charge, I was told it was because most Internet instruments are junk and are tons of work (paraphrased) at which point I packed up the guitars and left.
While I can understand charging more money for more challenging instrument setups, where an instrument was procured doesn’t really factor into the equation. A Fender Strat from Musician’s Friend doesn’t require more or less work to set up than a Fender Strat from Guitar Center (and in fact they’re the same company).
I’m very disappointed that I’ll probably have to take these guitars to another shop to have them set up since I’ve been happy with their work in the past. I won’t be returning.
These guys got all the guitars. that’s about it, a couple other instruments.
Jim and Jesse are really helpful, and a great selection of guitars.
No marching drum sticks.. No practice pads….
Been by there half a dozen times, can never catch them open.
5. Scero Guitars
Address: 1913 Pioneer Rd, Pueblo, CO 81008 , Pueblo , Colorado , United States
Great find! Brought my bass to Louis for a string change/set up and went home with a super player! So good to find a local, independent with the skills and care to help with such service. Thank you!
Fun place
One of the best sounding guitars I have ever played.
If I could turn back time, I would. Hand made guitars is thrown out there loosely by Louis… mostly CNC like the big Coorporate names. I was drawn to this Company because I read five 5 Star Reviews… huge regret after getting what I got from them. A 3 month project turned to a 6 month nightmare. Original plan was going to end with me driving down there on a weekend to personally pick up this “Handmade” Guitar which was going to make it that much more special. Received a couple of phone calls in between the 6 months to inform me about why this Build was taking longer than usual. I kept my cool thinking it would add to the experience on having to wait longer for “High Quality Top Notch Product”. The day finally came when I was asked to pay the second payment in full before shipping it to me. I did… I paid and waited. 2 days later, I received a text from UPS stating that my guitar had just been dropped off at the front door. “No Signature Required”… just left at the front door for the world to see. Being a busy busy single parent with work and everything in between, it took me about 3-4 days to finally Crack open that case with a sloppy stenciled spray painted logo to find a beautiful guitar with a handful of flaws. I reached out to Mr. Scutti but started making excuses about the Delivery Driver having dropped it during shipping blah blah blah. Long story short… I paid almost 3K for a horrible experience and having to make final adjustments to be able to play this man’s Guitar. I don’t even consider it. I played it a couple of times and got absolute ZERO inspiration. I have planned on taking the electronics and transferring them into a 30 Dollar Squier Tele I just got at the Pawn Shop and leave the 3K dollar nightmare hanging on the wall to serve as a reminder that there are still great salesmen out there. No hard feelings, only stating the facts.

The owner of this place is a very fair and nice guy. He went out of his way to have his brother open the store for us on the weekend. We will be buying a Piano in the future as they have some very nice ones. We where amazed at the sound on some of them!
Great prices
Very professional. .
8. Steel City Records 21
Address: 900W W Abriendo Ave, Pueblo, CO 81004 , Pueblo , Colorado , United States
Great People & Great Service & Great options of vinyl records & more
This place is the best! I was worried that when Independent closed we would not have any place to find great music and merchandise. I didn’t have to worry because High Vibes is what Independent was and more. The vibe is chill and welcoming. Buying vinyl is a favorite pastime of mine and I look forward to my visits for so many reasons. I intend to start joining the yoga classes and art/craft opportunities soon. I have friends that have attended and have loved the experiences! Way to go High Vibes, please support these fantastic owners. You can see the love and caring in everything that they do for the store.
High Vibes is an awesome spot. They have a great selection of music on vinyl, CD & cassette with the best prices in town. If they don’t have what you’re looking for they will order it for you. I’ve ordered several things to have them come in quickly. Monica Arrieta is extremely knowledgeable. They have buffed several of my old CD’s and Vinyl making them like new! I have enjoyed beginning yoga classes taught by Kami Arrieta. As well as participated in very fun Create and Vibe nights in the store. If you aren’t coming to this cool shop you are missing out! The zen room is a great place to help raise your vibration!
Edit: I could have given zero stars like I initially wanted because the reason I went to the store was thinking of the old store. I understand that there is re-branding. I don’t know where you got the word fake because I never even said those words but from your response, I will never recommend your business. Nor will I ever come back like I said, I only visited the store only on the past tense of independent record wishing it was still that store. It’s not unfortunately you’re proud display of smoke stuff is very small.
I came to this place, thinking of independent records, knowing them to have the whole upper half of the store to deal with smoke shop pipes, clean outs, and quick fix etc. only to my disappointment to see them have one small area dedicated to smoke stuff which only included pipes. I did buy a piece $20 wasn’t bad, I would not recommend this place for pipes at all. The one good thing I did like about this place, they had plants but not all of them are for sale, which is another disappointment because I would’ve bought a bigger plant from them, but not for sale… if you are looking for smoke stuff go to a smoke shop not this place.
10. Pueblo Amps
Address: 415 Gaylord Ave, Pueblo, CO 81004 , Pueblo , Colorado , United States
Its a fun and professional environment. Enjoyed every moment working with them! Can’t wait to go back!
Carl is the BEST damn sound engineer in southern Colorado. He also happens to be a great drummer and musician too. There is a reason he is a Grammy winner. We were able to generate a true legacy album thanks to his genius. The studio is inspiring (look at the pics or take a tour) and has been built from the ground up with amazing aesthetics and sound reinforced architecture. If you are lucky enough to get him on your project- count yourself lucky- he is a gem. Perfectworld is JUST that… PERFECT.
They have really good teachers there. If you have kids at goal or if you’re thinking about switching your kid to goal have them join perfect world. It’s fun and a great experience.
Excellent facility and engineer….. used both for successful CD release recording and audio clips for current website promos on changingtimesmusic.com
Great selection of items and just a fun place to browse around. Seems like a place I will always find something to buy in.
This place was awesome! Great selection of new and used books, records, tapes and cd’s. Kristen was super nice and she had a Kurt Vonnegut tattoo to boot! Good times. See ya’ guys next time I’m in town..
What a fantastic little find in Pueblo’s Downtown area! Books, beer, music, and mixed drinks—you can’t ask for more.
Very retro-cool place with 2023 prices! Yikes! $58.00+ for a used record! OUCH!
Others were less, average price was $25 – $35.00 for a used vinyl album.
This place ALSO has BOOKS , WEEKLY EVENTS, and works with their neighbor store Solar Roast Coffee ☕️ to offer discounts on drinks and food to customers !!!!! Despite the high vinyl costs … this is a Great Place to visit often!
Actually went to the bar next door, same business. Super bartender had a black raspberry something and it was absolutely delicious!!
Some things were a little pricey but the place has a good vibe. I love that they play vinyl over the store speakers- something about it just hits different. We’ll definitely be back to peruse what they have to offer.
