A great violin shop, very professional and experienced. Highly recommended for professional or semi-professional players.
Incredible gem of a master musical haven in Ridgefield CT. I’ve purchased cellos, bows, had repairs and maintenance all done with care and expertise by Misha Parshenov
He’s a brilliant string luthier of the highest level.
If you are new to buying instruments, do not worry. Misha is so honest and forthright about these instruments. He steered us away from a more expensive instrument because he felt that the less expensive one had sound that was just as good. I feel 100% comfortable that we got the best instruments for the money and that they will last my daughter into college.
4. Galina Music
Address: 590 Danbury Rd, Ridgefield, CT 06877 , Ridgefield , Connecticut , United States
Galina is the best piano teacher I have ever seen in my life! My daughter and son are so lucky to learn from her. Galina assigns various music to my children by the difference of each personality and skill, never simply by their age or following general lesson steps. She taught them beautiful 4 hand pieces, which became wonderful family memories for good! I highly recommend Galina!!
I started taking lessons at the age of 43 and was nervous to say the least! Galina has been so patient and encouraging. She knows just what to do to push me forward or make something a little easier that I am finding frustrating. I am an absolute beginner and have never felt like she wanted to give up on me! I am learning theory and solfège along with piano and it’s been so much fun. After taking lessons with her for a while it was clear that my 10 year old son should also have her as a piano teacher. She teaches him in a completely different way and knows just what he needs next. She knows how to handle whatever kids bring to her and gently but persistently teaches them to play with beautiful technique and musicality. She keeps us both moving along even when it’s not perfect so that it stays interesting and fun, all the while coming back to the basics. I cannot recommend her enough for adults and kids alike.
Galina is an outstanding teacher. When I, as an adult student, was searching for the teacher I wanted, my criteria included academic depth, musical performance experience and pedagogic philosophy. Galina offers all of these and more. She has been invaluable in helping me address and correct the many bad habits I have developed under less rigorous instruction. She has helped me immensely in developing technical skills, learning theory, sight reading and expressive playing. I am ever grateful to be able to study with Galina.
5. School of Rock
Address: 37 Danbury Rd, Ridgefield, CT 06877 , Ridgefield , Connecticut , United States
Enrolling our daughter in School of Rock Ridgefield was the best thing we could have done for her musically. From day one her instructors have helped her get better and better. I highly recommend SOR Ridgefield to anyone who wants their child(ren) to learn in a supportive and challenging environment.
We like the freedom that the kids have, to try new instruments . We love that they really can experience what preparing a concert means. Is way more than a classic music school, the lessons are way more than regular music lessons……is the full package of experiences and emotions that play in a music band can give, and kids love it!
We have loved our experience at Back to Rock in Ridgefield. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and my son has thrived having an opportunity to sing and learn more about music and performing. I recommend Bach to Rock highly for any families looking to get their kids more exposure music, whether it be singing in glee club or taking instrument lessons or having the opportunity to play in a rock band!
My children had the most wonderful week at Bach to Rock – they were so excited to be dropped off each day and the performance at the end of the week was amazing!
9. Music Learning Center
Address: 9 Grove St, Ridgefield, CT 06879 , Ridgefield , Connecticut , United States
My two boys are taking piano lessons at the music center, we love the teacher Ms. Antonette, she is very patient, she helps my boys in every way that can improve their piano skills. Most importantly, she has throughout knowledge about the Piano Abrsm Exam that many piano teachers have no or little knowledge about, if your children are planning to take the worldwide recognized Abrsm Exam, I highly recommend Ms. Antonette.
Thank you to my son’s piano teacher, Antoinette Cornelius the the MUSIC LEARNING CENTER, for helping my 15 yr old pass his level 5 NYSSMA piano test! He was extremely well prepared.I believe that learning piano has helped my son overcome earlier issues with attention and memory. Arguably more importantly, my son’s appreciation for music is profound. Thank you Antoinette!
Our sons, ages 8 and 10, have been taking piano lessons from Ms. Antoinette Cornelius for a little over a year now. We cannot praise Ms. Cornelius, or the music school at large, more highly.
We are astonished by how rapidly the children’s learning has progressed since joining this studio. Ms. Cornelius is very patient and kind with the boys, and knows how to individually motivate them. I think most children at these ages are not enthusiastic about daily practice, by Ms. Cornelius has so deeply inspired a love for playing the piano that our boys independently and joyfully practice daily. Ms. Cornelius consistently assigns increasingly challenging pieces but explains the techniques so well and caters the music selections to their specific preferences so seamlessly that the boys look forward to learning each new song. Ms. Cornelius also provides a solid theory and scales foundation so that the boys are equipped with the tools needed to progress to more advanced music.
Ms. Cornelius always takes extra time to discuss the boys’ progress and challenge points with us so we can help to guide their practice at home. She responds to emails and texts immediately and is a wonderful communicator. Ms. Cornelius has even provided help with our own piano technique. She has a remarkable intuition for where students struggle and provides effective solutions for improvement.
The Music Learning Center responded to the COVID interruptions quickly and effectively. I don’t think our boys missed a lesson – classes simply transitioned to a virtual format and we don’t feel like the boys missed any gains. In fact, we were so pleased with the convenience of a virtual lesson that we now have 1 weekly lesson in the studio and 1 virtually.
We highly recommend Ms. Cornelius and The Music Learning Center to students of any age! Our house is now filled with beautiful music and we are delighted to see the confidence and joy that playing the piano has brought to our children.
10. Guitar Center
Address: 15 Backus Ave, Danbury, CT 06810 , Ridgefield , Connecticut , United States
Amazing service, Amazing selection and kind employees. Nice facility.
They refurbished our guitars. We are Very happy with the job that was done.
Good service
Very pleasant to shop at guitar center in Danbury. The boys were very helpful in me buying the amp head. I look forward to going back to pickup the amp. 4 stars since the product wasn’t in stock.
Chevere lugar para escoger equipos de Dj.
Was expecting some really good black Friday deals. It was pretty much the same old same old.
This isn’t my first not-so-great experience at this Guitar Center. Today there was a non service-tagged animal in the store and while an associate did try very hard to help my try out a Fractal Audio Rack FX preamp, there was apparently no power amp available to use so that I could here. It’s a shame because I’ve never had an opportunity to try one of those before but I wasn’t going to drop $1000+ on something I couldn’t here first.
No good for anything but buying guitars and equip. They dont really have or keep stock on hand for things like tuners or specialty stuff. String selection is very basic, the pedal selection is like 15 pedals. Everything i needed they did not have. Not really impressed with the staff either. Seems like i was the brunt of a joke when i walked in and everyone working there turned atound and started laughing. So that also made a bad first impression. I tried but no way. Alto music in wappingers falls is my go to place.
Pretty rude place. My wife and I went to buy a music stand for our grandson and a guitar for our granddaughter. Salesman picked out some stands for us and when we were leaning to the cheaper of them he didn’t want anything else to do with us and walked away! Needless to say I wasn’t going to pursue the guitar with them. Heading to Sam Ash in White Plains tomorrow. I don’t normally write reviews like this but both my wife and I were offended. BTW, we are both musicians (I play guitar and my wife piano) and we could’ve been ongoing customers.
11. Ridgefield Music
Address: 19 Governor St, Ridgefield, CT 06877 , Ridgefield , Connecticut , United States
These guys have been consistently helpful and courteous and on top of things. Don’t let the tats fool you into thinking they are less than good professional business people — I would recommend them over say Bethel Music Center (nice folks and all there too, but in my experience not quite as timely when you need something taken care of ASAP).
If you like to be abused and treated like a piece of meat, by all means drive north for 10 miles and go to Guitar Center. If you want to be treated like a musician, comrade, and treasured customer/student/member of society, go to Ridgefield Music.
Love these guys, great honest advice. Won’t try to push your budget. My daughter loves taking Viola lessons from Katherine. By far the best music shop experience I’ve ever had.
