Just moved here and this pharmacy is the only place I will go. Prices and staff are awesome:)!!!
Friendly staff and exceptional customer service.
Always Freindly
Not helpful
Would have been considerate to inform drop-off customers about the 1:30PM closing time on Saturdays. Closed on Sunday, so I’m without medication until Monday.
The staff are super knowledgeable and very friendly. They have a great selection of products.
Probably one of, if not the best music store in the Birmingham area. They market towards musicians of all kinds – beginner to semi-professional/professional. Very clean establishment and helpful/knowledgeable staff. If you’re looking for a great place to fill most all your music needs, look no farther, you’ve found it here!
Staff is always friendly and helpful.
Attended a Breedlove Guitar Showcase. Art’s Music Shop in-store acoustic guitar lineup includes Breedlove, Michael Kelly, and Yamaha.
Very helpful but the instruments are pretty expensive
Always have a good experience at Arts. They work well with the school programs and if they don’t have what we need they are sure to find it
High pressure sales tactics on major purchases. Uncomfortable atmosphere throughout the store, once you state that you might not be purchasing item that day you might as well be dead to them. Stuck up to say the least. Support other businesses if at all possible.
Late or Cello repairs, They had my Cello for 2 days to reset the bridge (takes 15 mins) I had to pick it up and do it my self.
Arts is overpriced.

Knowledgeable, talented, and friendly. He took time to explain the process of repairing the 2 guitars we left. Awesome people, busy lil shop. We’re looking forward to our trip bach there to retrieve the guitars. Well worth the 2 hour drive.
This shop is great. Jason set up my 2006 D18 V with a new bone saddle & nut and got everything dialed in just right. She plays and sounds fantastic.
I took a 2008 Gibson LP in for a level and re-crown, they did a great job like brand new plays like butter. Will definitely be using them again. It is great to know we have a great instrument repair in Birmingham, no need to go to Atlanta or Nashville. Thanks!
Good product, Good service.
Friendly atmosphere and lots of instruments.
I’ve never dealt with someone so rude over the phone. The owner tried to guilt me with sarcasm and acted like victim when I questioned a price. Full story: I asked to order a cello string. All was going well (owner answered questions about speed of shipping and availability of the string), but then he quoted a price ($81) that was far above what other shops charge. I said respectfully that “I’ve purchased the string for $45 at other walk-in shops” and he became sarcastic and argumentative with me, claiming he was “holding my hand” through the process, and said “Well, I have to pay $35 for this string so what do YOU think is fair for ME to make? $15? What is 35 + 15, huh? Ohhh, maybe $50 is more than you can afford?” A simple, “well this is my price” would have been fine as a response from him, but I felt disrespected so I hung up and decided I’m never going to spend a dime Homewood Musical Instrument Co. I advise everyone else to steer clear of this shop and the guy who owns it.

Great staff, prices and awesome selection in stock! Been buying gear from them for over 20 years. Always happy!
Super friendly and helpful staff.
It was my first time in the store and I had an excellent experience. David was very helpful and friendly as well as the other staff present. The online site lacks a lot of the guitars they have in stock because they get new guitars a lot so I would advise actually going into the store to see their wide selection.
Good selection of musical equipment. Be prepared because they strictly enforce the muzzle mandate inside. They make you wear masks.
Helpful and kind! Will be back to see them soon.
This place is as good as, if not better than, Guitar Center. But this one man that works there is not the friendliest and makes me and my music buddy never wanna come again… I was gonna buy at least $20-$60 of stuff, and my buddy was gonna get his guitar worked on, but we decided against it after our experience today.
My friend and I were playing our guitars together at moderate volumes. No louder than the other customers that passed through. Our volume knobs probably were set around 1. This rude clerk guy came up to us and told us “turn it down, there are customers in here”. When there was maybe 1 other guy in the guitar room at most. What are we, trash? Are we not customers?
Though to be fair, there was a little kid who sat behind us who was louder than both of us combined, and he was tremolo picking the most random nonsensical annoying noise (future shredder?), but he should’ve told the kid to turn down—not us. We both turned our amps off because he was rude the last time we were in the store and we were pretty annoyed at this point. But the kid turned his amp down and continued the random picking and the dude immediately came back and said “hey, okay, turn it off, that’s enough for today” and took the guitar from the kid. The rudest music store clerk we’ve ever encountered. There’s another guy who is super nice that works there who let us turn the volume up—at least 2 or 3 times what we did today—and test every amp in the store. We bought a $2,000 setup from the nice guy in the past, but this rude guy would probably kick us out of the store before we could make a purchase. I didn’t catch his name, but he’s average height, blondish, his hair is thinning, and he had a short beard. A nicer worker told us he’s been there 3 years, though I’m not sure how he’s lasted that long. He’ll probably follow you around like you’re a thief and ask if he can help you 8 times like he did to us the last time we came in the store simply to buy a cable.
I left my guitar with this store in February 2012 for a simple repair. In June it was still hanging waiting for them to repair. I had been told on multiple occasions that it would be ready in just a few days. I picked it up today June 24, 2012 and no repair has been done and I was still charged a bench fee. This place sucks. I will never go in there again. Good luck if you do.

Great shop for used gear and repairs. Owner will work with you on trades.
Gucci
Great shop!
It kind of feels like grandpa’s basement here, in a good way. Lots of interesting gear to browse through, plenty of it gently used and ready to be rocked again. There are some Strats hanging here that anyone would love to own, plenty of great options for tube amps, replacement speakers and even an eclectic assortment of used pedals that are worth picking through.
Pricing for everything is slightly higher than online for same items, BUT, you get to support a local business and take it home today. It’s the kind of place I’d stop in to a couple times a year if I lived here. Character.
Great selection of vintage guitars and amplifiers. New equipment also.
Bought a guita there yeRs ago. Just visiting the store ‘off Highland’ for the first time. Nice array of guitars !
Twice treated very rudely by staff. I’m over it.
About what you’d expect. Pretentious, unhelpful, and offended that you’d dare shop in their overpriced thrift store. But they’ve been in business forever and they ain’t changing.
Tried to get my guitars worked on here multiple times. First time was an 8 string, guy said “I don’t like black guitars they scratch too easily” and then rubbed a cloth with steel wool fibers over it and scratched the guitar. GEE I wonder why! Had a pickup swap done on another guitar, put a scratch on it that went through the paint. Not only that, but he took it upon himself to do a full “set up” when I did not ask him to now I have buzz everywhere and it plays worse than it did before, then charged me for it. Oh and the pickups are also out of phase. Sorry, but that’s it. No more chances. Goodbye.

I’ve known her since Albertville, Connie is Alright!
Nice, helpful, and Knowledgeable. My husband needed strings for an acoustic guitar that wouldn’t break because the ones he had all broke. The lady working suggested Para Digm strings and said they are break resistant so he bought them. We got home and changed all the strings and not one broke!! We will be going back… Thank you B&C !!!
Great little music shop. A good place to look for a starter instrument or replace an existing one.
Over priced. Only good if you need to grab a pack of strings or something small last minute.
Excellent locally owned and operated business!
Awful place with cheap brands and overpriced / broken used instruments.
I felt watched and rushed. Two women were working there that day, one was very friendly. I did not feel comfortable asking questions and also it was so hot in there.
this place is burnt!

Salesman David was so nice. He was very informative about the product. Very pleasant experience
I spent most of the afternoon at Ellis piano last week; a fantastic experience. I wanted to play and compare small-mid size (5’5″ – 6’6″) grands from Kawai to assess the different lines (GL, GX, SK) and variation within the line; David, Corey, and Jason were incredibly accommodating, especially since I told them my purchase was intended for 6-9 mo in the future in another state.
And, as others have said, one of the back rooms is amazing–like a Rolls-Royce showroom for pianos–and I was able to play several of them. Kid in a candy store experience, and the Ellis family seemed to enjoy it as much as I did.
Simply Wonderful. I have never had a buying experience for anything that was this good. Jason and his father David Ellis are remarkable people. They took the time to understand me, my wishes, and my dreams for the perfect piano. The environment they have created is warm and inviting…literally inviting us to play the pianos without any pressure. David told me not to focus on price, and assured me he would work to earn our business…and then he and Jason actually did it! We got an exceptional deal on a Shigeru SK-3 which will become an heirloom in our family. What they did in helping us find and buy the perfect piano was create a deeply spiritual connection between instrument and musician. They made the words of my favorite quote come true for me…”God gives the heart a voice to sound its joy…and calls it music.” Thank you Jason & David…and God bless you!
Nice, helpful staff
my experience was questionable. they decide who they want …
The staff was friendly, and they have tons of pianos and other equipment to choose from. The space is enormous, and is fun to just browse. They also do repairs. Call or stop by for any musical needs. Would go again.
16. Gadsden Music Company

Great little down-home music store. Located on Broad Street in one of those old buildings. The place has a very homey feel and the staff was extremely helpful and last. Highly recommended
Great people, all instruments you’d ever want.
Was nice
Ok
Leaking like a seive from roof. Decent selection of all things band related.
If you are looking for music instruments, and accessories, i promise you, you will pay FULL retail price. No discounts there. It dosen’t matter that accessories have a 70% mark up. The best thing to do is buy it online.
This place used to be very friendly and musicians dream to come in. Now it’s full of a bunch of butt heads. I Won’t Go Back
No Gibson or fender really no variety.

Been going to Andrew for years. He knows his stuff, is kind and super helpful.
The owner is very friendly and willing to help you out. Can order things if he doesn’t have it in his store. Good place to go for musical supplys.
I’ve known Andrew for the majority of my time as a musician, which is about eight years. I have never been unsatisfied or unhappy with anything I’ve purchased from him or any setups on my guitars he has set up for me.
He is a very kind guy who is well-rounded on musical instruments as a whole. He is also a very patient mentor to his students. I wholeheartedly recommended Andrew for anything music related.

These guys are great and you can haggle a little bit but always a fair deal….
Been looking for a store like this for a while! Looks like a great place to get pc components, switches, and whatnot. Staff was super friendly and stopped to talk about what they do. I’ll be back!
Great store, very knowledgeable people. Good prices!!
I had my lap top cleaned and restored. Very nice and helpful staff. Very quick repair.
Do you guys repair game consoles?
Nice place
I don’t recommend this place .this person have anger manegement. I call the police on hem i was mistreated as a customer He have horrible attitude. He is dishonest . he Unlock my computer and he trying to selling me my information my pictures my stuff that is in my computer thas bad I would like to give him a zero that is not an option
I f there was a 0star I would rate this one since one of the guys who work there scammed my boyfriend out of $300 bucks! And I will tell you how… The computer we bought had a message on the screen and so we called the guy who sold it to us. He said it was no big deal, so we did. When he told us that it was fixed and come pick it up. He said it’s $80 or you can’t get it. Now my boyfriend had no idea what to do about the message since I didn’t see it before he called him and come to find out all that was wrong with it was that it needed to upgrade, wow. Everybody else knows it doesn’t cost to update windows never has. But to an unexperienced person they don’t have a clue. Anyways we are not going to pay $80 to get it back even though we paid $300. So at the end of day that guy ripped us off and there’s no telling who else he’s done this too.
How much does Controller Drifts for PlayStation cost?

Always been crazy about music and a big fan of guitars. This place is really good to buy instruments. The folks here are friendly and knowledgeable. They even give music lessons. Will definitely visit again.
This place has got to be the best music store I have ever been too. The people are very nice and care about their customers!
Awesome
Wonderful music store.Friendly staff. Very helpful in supplying me with what I needed from instrument to private music lessons.
Nice place. Good selection conveniently located.
It’s a shame places like this will be going out of business soon. If they would have what I needed or was interested in like certain pickups or more interesting pedals and better guitars this would be an awesome place the last time I went in there the walls were filled with Nashville guitars and they had a couple good electrics but literally every acoustic guitar hanging on the wall was a Nashville guitar and I was looking for a Taylor or Martin but I’ve never seen anything like that in that store I go there to buy picks and strings but that’s only because they don’t have a guitar store in Talladega. When they don’t have pickups I need they asked me if I want them to order it but in this day and age I can just do that myself and get it for cheaper because looking at the price of the looper pedals they’re not buying them wholesale they’re buying them straight off of a website and marking the price up.. The people are super nice I hate giving a three-star review but I’m just being honest.
I read reviews for this shop and thought it was an honest place to sell my gear. I walked in with an Epiphone AJ 220, with an Epiphone molded hardshell case I bought seperately, and an Epiphone “Snake Pit” 15w practice amp. ALL in like new condition. She plugged the guitar in and it was only the fourth time it had ever been plugged in. I never put the guitar in the case without wiping it down first. Look everything I listed up for yourself, and you’ll see what I lost. I messed up and let the lady know that I was in dire need of money for my family. The old guy asked where I bought it, and when I told him, he said he’d lost alot of business to “places like that”. No. I looked around the shop, and all he had was used gear that had been repaired and put up for sale. Junk. My guitar was the nicest instrument there! The reason he’s losing business is because he’s trying to sell junk and beating people in need out of what their instruments are worth. The lady acted like she was on Pawn Stars! If I hadn’t had needed the money really bad, I would have told her where she could stick her $200! That’s all they gave me for everything I brought in. Look up the items I listed, and you’ll see I did my part to support this business! The reviews I read must have been friends of theirs, because they definately misled me. Not fair at all.
Walked in today to look around and from the moment I walked in the door, the older gentleman (I guess the owner?) had his eye on me and was watching me like a hawk, made me feel unwelcome to be there. He asked if I was looking for anything in particular and when I told him very politely he didn’t have what I was looking for he arrogantly told me “I opened this store in 1973 and everything you see in the store is priced the same as you’d get it online” like ok bud I wasn’t complaining about the price you just don’t have what I was looking for. When I told him I wasn’t looking to buy today, and was just looking around he made a sarcastic comment about “well if you’re not buying, we can just put this back on the shelf” ??? I continued to walk around and look at some more product and he continued to watch me like a hawk until I got in my car and pulled out of the parking spot. All of my musician friends have recommended I don’t frequent this store, and I can honestly say, after that experience, I will not and will tell anyone that asks not to either. Lousy excuse for customer service.
