We have had 2 tubas service by Jim. The service has always been quick and professional. The rates are excellent. We would highly recommend Jim to anyone needing instrument repair.
How refreshing to work with a completely customer service based company in today’s climate! They made an error, and corrected that error by going above and beyond my expectations. Wow. They certainly earned my business and will earn yours too! Kudos, y’all. You stand out and stand apart (not just during covid ) Thank YOU!
Staff member at the University of Oregon band here. We had a desperate repair need while in Raleigh for NCAA tournament, and after over 10 calls to local universities, we finally got a recommendation for Big Note. Billy drove his van over to our hotel and fixed our sousaphone on site. His craftsmanship was first rate and for a better price than a brick and mortar shop. They should be your first call for any instrument repair.
The store was easy to find, they had everything we needed conveniently, and had excellent customer service.
Unfortunately, they never called or emailed me back. I waited almost 2 weeks to schedule a repair with them after they visited my son’s school.
I guess they have enough business.
3. Pickett’s Guitar Shop
Address: 105 S Dixie Ave, Cartersville, GA 30120 , Rydal , Georgia , United States
Has a decent selection of equipment. Great selection of strings and drum sticks. A great stop to re-up for small needs. Very friendly
Great service and well experienced
Great place to buy guitars and accessories good ppl
Good condition used instruments, affordable prices, nice staff.
Great little music store with affordable instruments and a very friendly and helpful owner.
Only problem I’m having is that I’ve been trying to call the store. Goes directly to voicemail and I wanted to leave a message but there voicemail is full. I wanted to ask them some information. Been trying for the last hour to reach somebody.
Every time I’ve been in there you have to wake somebody up on the counter there’s never any music playing never any business makes you not want to buy anything
have nothing
4. Aria Music Studios Inc.
Address: 252 Creekstone Ridge, Woodstock, GA 30188 , Rydal , Georgia , United States
Aria has been always above and beyond a music teacher for my son. She has a great attitude and she is always patient with her students, inspiring them to grow.
Very professional and knowledgeable! I would highly recommend her!
My son Jude is ND and has some behavioral issues. He expressed a desire to learn to play the piano and we jumped on it! As FB seems to do, I had a post in my newsfeed pop up, so I reached out to Aria to see if they might be able to work with him. We ended up taking our trial lesson with Mr. Jason and my son came out that day, and every day since, skipping around, telling me all of the things he learned. Jason is patient with Jude but also firm, and he is always so incredibly kind. He went out and got specific books for our little guy to start working out of and he has taught him so much since Jude started his lessons. I can’t say enough good things about Aria Music Studio, and Mr. Jason especially.
5. Allan Gilreath & Associates Inc
Address: 100 Newtown Rd NE, Calhoun, GA 30701 , Rydal , Georgia , United States
Beautiful showroom and selection of Grand Pianos!! Warm and highly skilled staff to answer all my questions!!! I played to my heart’s content!!!! Never felt rushed or sales-pitched…enjoyed my experience tremendously at Gilreath Music!!!!!
I’ve done business with Allan Gilreath for many years and he’s my go to guy when I need to purchase a piano or keyboard or have one serviced. Everyone in this organization is very professional and friendly. I wouldn’t go anywhere else!
Great!!
6. JAWS GUITARS
Address: 111 Mountain Vista Blvd #135, Canton, GA 30115 , Rydal , Georgia , United States
Wedunit Band enjoyed stopping in on our way back from UNG, Dalonega. Had the hard tension nylon guitar strings that we have been looking for! BIG difference on the Godin guitar!
Only been here once. Unassuming from the outside. Nice little shop on the inside. Owner is very friendly and helpful. Good customer service.
Recommended by another local shop who didn’t have what I needed. Found out Jaws has been in business here for 13 years now. Nice!
I value small business and will happily choose a mom and pop store over a big box store whenever possible.
Awesome place to go
As a store, very, very little selection of amplifiers or guitars. Staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and not at all uptight about customers touching and trying out the gear they do have on hand. May be better as a place for repairs and maintenance, but cannot attest to that.
support your local music stores. professional repairs and great service. These guys give fair prices on trade-ins as well.
Cool store no other music stores in Canton owner is cool
I needed a setup for my Gibson Les Paul and decided to give Jaws a shot because of their overwhelmingly positive reviews. I dropped of my guitar and told the luthier that I was experiencing a lot of fret buzz. The turn around time was very quick and I was able to pick it up the next day. I was told that there would still be some buzz based on my attack, which seemed like a cop out. I asked if there were any high frets and I was assured that there were none. I took the guitar home and played it to find that I was still experiencing buzzing even when strummed lightly. I pulled out the fret rocker to find that several of my frets were high despite what the shop told me. Overall, this was a waste of time and money and I’m very disappointed with the level of service.
I went to Ponce de Leon Music Center to purchase a microphone for my business. The three people that were working on memorial day were so helpful that I absolutely have no words for it. With there patience and assistance I ended up buying the microphone that best suited my needs. I didn’t jump on my phone to compare pricing because I would pay more to purchase something from somewhere local (as I’m a Forsyth county resident) and prefer to support local businesses verses large corporations or Amazon. Ponce de Leon’s customer service is out of this world!!!! Five stars out of five for me!!!
My son is taking trumpet lessons here and not only enjoys the lessons from Taylor, he’s made dramatic improvements in the little bit of time he’s been going. Taylor makes the lessons fun and had figured out how to bring out talent we never expected was even there.
Thank you to the staff. I brought my daughters Clarinet in for repair which I bought from an online retailer, and they were able to fix it on the spot. I will definitely look to do business with them on future purchases. I did not realize we had music stores that sold so much stuff in the county.
Good place for lessons and instrument maintenance. I have had them work on my guitars several times with no complaints. This last time they replaced strings and I was in a hurry and just paid and left. Getting some fret buzz from 5th and 6th strings that I would have noticed had I checked it out before leaving. My bad. Overall they are great people and do great work!
Very friendly staff!
Great music store! The prices are pretty high, but they are very helpful.
The customer service is awful I definitely won’t be back there every again
Had to make a quick stop to grab a few things. I know it was closing time. I was trying to make it quick. When they started harassing my husband reminding him when they close he left and we took our business somewhere else. Customers want to feel welcomed, not reminded how unfortunate you are to have to lock the door right at 5:00.
9. Vintage Musical Instruments
Address: 42 Public Square S, Dahlonega, GA 30533 , Rydal , Georgia , United States
Great shop. Beautiful instruments and some great sounding guitars and folk instruments. The custom made electric guitars are one of a kind. Hope to go back
A little store with a lot of great instruments! John, the proprietor, is a musician in his own right, is very helpful with advice on all instruments for all styles.
I learned so much here than l ever learned from any piano lessons in the last year.
I was disappointed with the repair work done on my guitar. It wasn’t a horrible job but it wasn’t a good job either.
The luthier wasn’t able to polish the frets because they didn’t have any high grit sandpaper so, I had to “polish” the frets with my strings from play wear and now my frets are “polished” very unevenly.
He seemed to do an okay job with the fret leveling and crowning but there are still some noticeable corners on about half of the fret edges and especially on the higher frets where people usually don’t play. (You can tell how he had it laid on the table because one side is relatively smooth and the other looks like it barely got any attention along with the nut which is just as sharp as before)
He also got multiple dings and scratches on my guitar neck. Which I personally don’t mind on the specific guitar I sent in, but I would be quite irritated if it happened to a higher end guitar. (It’s named ‘Rawhide’ which explains the guitar well)
So, pretty much I paid for an incomplete job where if I had the proper tools I could have done it myself and probably much better.
I’m not trying to start anything and I don’t want to get the Luthier in trouble, I just want to see quality work from the Luthier so *if* I ever bring in a higher end guitar I won’t have to sleep in fear worrying about possible damage.
My recommendation for the Luthier is if someone pays you to level, crown and polish frets, make sure you have ALL of the necessary tools and really take the time to do a good job on ALL of the frets. Also make sure to keep the guitar safe in the process.
If I had known what to expect for what I paid for, I would have pressed the Luthier to finish the job, but at the time I didn’t know what high quality frets were like.
Lastly, on an unrelated topic that really goes to personal preference, they require masks to enter the store, no exceptions. I don’t support being muzzled for a virus with a 99%+ survival rate and even 95%+ if you’re over the age of 70, where it’s so “deadly” you require a medical test just to see if you have it, and asymptomatic spread has been proven to be extremely rare, if not just another myth to keep us living in fear.
But to each their own.
Went to store this morning at ten after 11 and no one was there.
I’m very disappointed in this “business” we had taken a family heirloom to him to be repaired, he said it would take two weeks. Hey, great you got a deal. Let’s go ahead and pay for it so you will have the money on hand to pay for the parts and your time. Three weeks later we have to call and the guitar still isn’t finished. Four weeks later we call once again it’s still not done. I go to the “business” to see if it’s even been touched, and low and behold it had not. He had already told us that sales from other people come first with it being around the holidays. Wait wait so a sale that was already made gets placed last?! That was my daughter’s Christmas present as well to hear the guitar play once again that her papa had gave to her 10 years ago, then he pasted away. I will never trust this place again repairs or to buy from!
10. Music Go Round – Atlanta/Duluth, GA
Address: 3675 Satellite Blvd # 100, Duluth, GA 30096 , Rydal , Georgia , United States
Excelente servicio!! Todos ahí son súper amables y todo el tiempo buscan ayudarte
Nice store to look around, helpful people
I had a great experience my first time shopping here. I was in time constraint and I walked in already knowing what I needed, verbalized that, and low and behold I got a great deal on a acoustic guitar for my son. The inventory they had as far as I cound see was very eclectic with many worthy purchases to be had. Unique instruments as well, everything from moog machines, acoustic/electric guitars, base, violin, drums…and plenty of space to shop. The staff have everything they sell on a computer and if you are straight with your needs (stylr/cost/purpose)…they can get you what you want. Thanks guys, you rock!
Helpful staff with a variety of instruments and accessories available for purchase. The prices seemed pretty good from my experience. Several higher end instruments but plenty for the beginner as well.
Great store to find used and new musical instruments, accessories, parts and gems.
The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and attentive to your needs. The location of this store is idea and easy to find via GPS. A great place to ” try-out” some instruments.
Can always find a good deal on instruments, cymbals, and sound equipment.
I’d give less than one star if it were an option. Upon looking online I found a wireless guitar system I wanted to purchase but also check out prior to such. I called the store & was told YES they had the item in stock. It’s a bit of a long drive for me to their location. I drove all the way out there & when I walked through the door I’m greeted by an employee who appeared a bit disoriented acting. Nevertheless, I informed him I was there to check out the wireless guitar system I called about. The employee looked the item up & confirmed it being there … then he began walking around the store looking for it. (Kinda odd u wouldn’t assign items such as this a general location) perhaps near the guitar pedals. So after about 5 mins of him wandering around the store I’m told he can’t find the item. I explain I called & drove a bit of distance specifically for this item (I was also looking at a high priced guitar) The employee begins wandering around the store joking around with other employees but ultimately no real effort to locate the item I came for was made as well as no apologies given for not having the item after I was told they must’ve lost it.
This also tells me if I were to purchase this item online they’d not be able to accommodate my purchase. As I searched the store myself a couple of friendly customers engaged with me in chat.
I also noticed anytime a customer wanted to try out a guitar the employees would play the instrument more so than the customer asking to try it out. Meaning the employees would take an instrument off the rack someone wants to play & rather than hand it to them right away they play their entire musical catalogs it appears. So as a dissatisfied customer there was absolutely no apologies for the mistake they made of not having the item in stock nor was there even a remote attempt to satisfy a displeased customer. For example – we are sorry u drove all this way for an item we assured u was in stock but unfortunately there was miscommunication on our part so to accommodate we will take a percentage off any purchase u like to make up for our error. That would be providing customer service. Something the employees need to learn apparently as opposed to trying to show off on the instruments they’re attempting to sell.
U lost a couple thousand dollars sell today because of this. I had planned to purchase a Gibson with the wireless guitar system. I won’t ever return because of this experience & inform others to do business elsewhere because ultimately u are clueless to ur inventory.
Was told that i wpuldnt have to worry abput getting low balled on my music equipment and that was a lie. Didnt even want cash just wanted a fair trade on an instrument. They seriously tryed to rip me off on my trade ins. Even when one of my items was completly new in box. Cant wait to see how much longer that guitar sets on there and no one buys it. Waisted two hours of my day and gas. Would have brought these guys lots of good buisness with new trade ins and buys on equipment.
Went in today to buy a few picks around 12 this afternoon. After grabbing a few, I went to pay for them. The guy in front of me just bought an amp and left to get his car to load his equipment up. I was standing there waiting to pay for my stuff and the guy behind the counter (without even acknowledging me) just walked away. I can’t imagine he didn’t see me. I’ve shopped there off and on for years and I never go out of my way to leave bad reviews, but this place earned it. I teach guitar and used this place for books, picks, and other things. I’m very understanding towards employees in retail and usually won’t make an issue out of most things. But, I was completely ignored and I won’t refer my students to ever go to this place to pick up anything they may need.
11. Jennings Music & Education Center
Address: 3595 Canton Rd Suite 308, Marietta, GA 30066 , Rydal , Georgia , United States
These folks are always friendly and helpful and their prices are competitive. Stop in and strum a uke. Its good for you.
I bought my acoustic guitar from here and the people there were really helpful
Love this place! The staff is awesome, if I need to buy something, I want to buy it from Jennings first! If you need any more evidence to how great this store look at how they respond to negative feedback in this review section! With respect, tolerance, and intelligence.
Edit: I was called the day of this review and my issues resolved within the week. I have never received such a quick response to a complaint and it counts for a lot in my mind. I can tell that their reputation and customer satisfaction is important. I’m going to give them the benefit of the doubt regarding my previous experiences and change my review. I’m not sure why the ball was dropped previously but they made sure to fix the problem and apologize. Everyone makes mistakes but their willingness to take responsibility and handle the situation was refreshing.
BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE!!! I signed up for a lease to own plan for a bass at this store. The plan is supposed to include repairs and a size upgrade because my son is 13 and still growing. About 8 months into the plan the bridge was broken on the bass (a simple fix) and I was told to expect 3 weeks for repairs. 3 weeks turned into several months. I had to start going in person everyday and basically harassing the staff to give him his bass. They never gave him his bass back. They gave him a very beat up bass and told me not to worry about the appearance as he would not keep this bass and would have one in better condition once the contract was up as the size would be upgraded. However, once I took the bass home to my son he informed me that this bass was smaller than the original one he was given and so he couldn’t practice at all. I informed the store of this in August, it is now January. The store is completely unresponsive and unless I start harassing them again, they’ll leave me with a product I can’t use but still charge me monthly for it.
Nice store. Very friendly and helpful. If I ever consider leasons for anything, I’d definitely consider them.
The people there are very friendly, courteous
Way over priced !!!!! My son in high school needed a mouth piece for his instrument. Jennings wanted to charge almost $70. You can get them for $20 in Kennesaw and YES they are acceptable and standard in the class room. Wow! I am so tired of this area trying to over charge.
These people were extremely rude and impatient this evening. I was trying to reach a salesman that left another store. I need a cello but I will not buy from these people. Instead of trying to sell me something they simply hung up in my face. I called right back thinking it was a mistake and they were not kind. They lack good communication skills and have no customer service skills at all. I was expecting them to say, “… the person you are looking for does not work here but we would love to assist you with a purchase”.
12. Jackson’s Music Store Inc
Address: 1651 Horizon Pkwy #500, Buford, GA 30518 , Rydal , Georgia , United States
I went up there with a drumstick and asked if I could record some sounds on my phone. The guy was hesitant at first but let me do it and even set up a snare drum for me. Super nice guy. Customer service was top notch. Good prices on all the instruments as well.
Love Jackson’s Music! Have been our go-to music store for my mom’s guitar needs, and my kids violin needs. Always very helpful! Went in yesterday to have my daughter’s violin repaired and they fixed it immediately!! Have gone above and beyond to help us with fixing every problem, ordering things we need, and finding everything we have needed for a while now. Check them out
Nice ppl willing to work with you
Staff is nice, small selection tho. Mostly beginner instruments and school band instruments.
Employees know there job but convenience is a -1
I come here for instrument repairs. I’m a professional musician that need his instrument asap. Mark at this location always fixes my sax perfectly. I’m going for a repad in the next two weeks
If I could give zero or lower stars I would. My son’s saxophone gave him problems from the start. I was told on 4 occasions to bring it in. Today Brandon told me he would finally be in, he wasn’t. When I didn’t understand the question to do you have others I could look at, he responded “I have two eyes”. Rude beyond belief! Never again Jackson Music and I’ll make sure to share this with the band families at all the schools I work with as an administrator. Horrible customer service! UPDATE: The nice woman owner called and apologized. I forgive her and believe she doesn’t condone that type behavior.
Don’t go here. They have the worst service ever. I have a clarinet and the thumb rest broke, and I had to get a realignment for my bottom keys and they only fixed my thumb rest but took money for both realignment and my thumb rest. They didn’t fix both things but took charge for both. How pathetic.
Overpriced
13. Town Center Music
Address: 4072 Suwanee Dam Rd NW, Suwanee, GA 30024 , Rydal , Georgia , United States
Best music shop in town. Awesome pedals selection. Staff is knowledgeable and accommodating. Huge Reverend guitars fan!
Where to start really.. I’ve been shopping here off and on for years. A couple things stand out to me every time I’m in. First, the selection is outstanding, from instruments and effects to supporting equipment, and amplifiers. Second, and probably the most important, the staff is knowledgeable, approachable and friendly, seriously. I’ve spent time as a touring musician in my earlier years, and learned pretty quickly how important it is to have a place like this in your community. Last year I had a guitar reworked and repaired, and honestly its better now than when I bought it new, no exaggeration. The setup was clean and incredibly accurate-(stuff I get way too picky about lol). The technician (soooo bad with names) was extremely cool, and I learned a ton about an instrument I’ve spent a lifetime playing. Today, I came in with my family to look at a pedal I was super curious about. Aaron went way above and beyond to help me learn about it. From setting up the amp and guitar to match my in home setup, to reviewing the capacity of the device. Very relaxed environment, folks that truly care about their community and the musicians in it, what ever you experience level.
I enjoy my weekly visits to Town Center Music for my son’s guitar lessons. The staff represents what good customer service should be and help to make Suwanee what it is – a great place to live and do business! I wish them nothing but overwhelming growth and success in the years to come.
Taught my kids to play guitar
Good
Much better store I not been here in a while the past manager was not a music guy or a manger known as a air head I will be back
Not where u want to shop you find poorly trained staff and not music people I shopped here off and on for years . just not good pepole
Went in there a couple days ago. Not a huge fan. Workers aren’t very pleasant people and they come up to you every 10 minutes kind of giving you the hint to leave if you’re not gonna buy anything like you’re in there too long.
Great for beginners I guess. Don’t come in here expecting higher quality equipment and experience. Name of their game is to hook beginners onto cheap equipment (which is totally fine) and get you out. No hanging out in there jamming for an extended time.
Maybe I came in on a bad day.
Took down my review. Owner ultimately seemed to care about his customers. Too bad everything is so politically incorrect. Anyone still remember Archie Bunker?
But to clarify what idiot would try to exchange something opened, like a reed.
Amazon prime still winnnning.
14. Newsong Piano Rebuilders
Address: 604 Industrial Court Suite A, Marietta, GA 30066 , Rydal , Georgia , United States
I recently had Newsong move three pianos. They moved the pianos safely and efficiently all for a very reasonable price. I highly recommend their services. Because of their excellent moving services I will soon be trying their tuning services. Thanks y’all!
I contracted with Newsong Piano Rebuilders to move a spinet piano we purchased to our home. Greg responded quickly to my request and gave me a very competitive price to make the move. On move day his crew arrived right on schedule, assessed the move, and exercised the great care in handling the piano and making sure there was no damage to the home or the yard. They were professional, friendly and efficient at moving this heavy piano! Once the move was completed I offered the crew a tip and they said it wasn’t necessary, but they truly earned one with me. If there was a way to give them 6 stars I would. Thank you Newsong piano!
I was extremely impressed with their service! Mr. Lawrence and his son were prompt, kind, and courteous. They not only delivered our piano, with ease, but they also shared care tips and products to keep our piano looking sparkly. If you need a piano mover, they were amazing and treated us like family!
Greg Lawrence has been a joy to work with from the start. We moved homes a year ago and, during the move, Mr. Lawrence gave us an offer to repair (restring) the piano, to which agreed it was time. While it did take a good deal longer to repair, and he would agree, due a heavy work load this summer, the work was well worth the wait. Our piano is getting close to a hundred years old and now the brass and interior look brand new and beautiful. He repaired the sound board, restrung, and fixed the action, among other things. Mr. Lawrence might be a busy man, but his work more than makes up for it!
3 stars based on my phone experience
Called for a quote/info but was rather put off by the message at the beginning that my call would be recorded for quality and training purposes. I wanted to make sure that the call had gone to a local private business and not some National piano call-center that just referred leads. (like these traveling locksmiths).
When I asked questions to try to find out if the business was locally owned/operated, the man on the phone (Greg) got gruff and huffy and eventually hung up. Not the way to impress customers. I will use someone else!
Update: Take some accountability for your actions! I was only able to explain 75% of the issue before you talked over me, told me I was wrong, berated me, insulted my intelligence, denied that anything you could have done caused the problem, and you were not the one doing the work and have never never even seen my piano. Bottom line, the piano is in worse shape and unusable after you “fixed it”, and I am out $150.
Worst service I have ever received from an establishment. They showed up 45 minutes late. Did a poor job repairing the key and left it with a horrible squeaking sound, I’d prefer the key still be broke. Coincidently, when I called to ask about it, I was told it was a coincidence and it would be another $100 to come look at it. I was then verbally berated and told not to “Joe Biden him” for saying “come on man”.
To follow up….. we had a different company come tune the piano this year… they asked if we tried to fix it ourselves because the repair work was so done so poorly. They could not believe a piano rebuilder had done the work due to how bad it was “fixed”. Recommended asking for money back because of what a joke of a repair was done. Said he would have be embarrassed to do such poor work.
Never would I ever use Newsong Piano again nor recommend them to anyone. I called Greg Lawrence and told him I had a baby grand to be moved but had a short window for him to do it. He stated that he had been doing this for over 40 years and they would only be at my home no more than 20 minutes. He arrived in a dirty and cluttered box van with a disheveled toolbag that proved to be as bad as it looked when he could not locate the tools he needed to remove the legs from the piano. He proceeded to remove the pedals and then moved to one of the legs. It was here that the straw that broke the camels back occurred. He was unable to remove the leg nor seemed to even know how to remove it while cursing and mouthing horrible comments about the piano. He did not seem to know how to even find out how to remove the leg. He then stated he was unable to move the piano, packed his tools and promptly departed my home without apology. I stood in disbelief while exercising restraint to not confront him with my thoughts about not only him but his company Newsong Piano. I then called another company and they arrived shortly thereafter, displayed very professional mannerisms, and prepared, loaded and moved the piano in less than 30 minutes without incident or difficulty. They had no double removing the legs and could not understand how a practicing piano mover could not remove the legs. I would not recommend Newsong Piano Rebuilders for any type of service at any level. Stay away and do NOT believe their advertising reference their abilities and experience.
We needed two upright pianos moved from the same house. We explained in detail what had to be done, that one piano was in our basement and had to be moved up stairs or out the back and up a steep hill. They asked a lot of questions and said that they could do the job with three guys. They lied. They were 30 minutes late, *(made an excuse about being stuck behind a train) showed up with just two guys, one that looked about 60. He looked at our downstairs Piano exit and said that he could not do the job. This put me in a huge bind since I took off work to meet them and we had to be out of the house in 4 days. We asked why, after we had fully explained the job, and he made the excuse that his third guy had to go back to school, (you didn’t know that?) and that he was getting too old to do this kind of work, and that his truck was acting up and he was afraid it might breakdown. I count 4 lame excuses. Then he started giving me advice on how the next company should do the job! Are you kidding me?
We called another company and they took care of us. Again, don’t call this company!
15. All Star Music Center
Address: 3981 Athens Hwy, Loganville, GA 30052 , Rydal , Georgia , United States
Great locally-owned and -operated music store, which we should cherish simply for that reason. John is a great, jovial guy, very friendly and helpful. Never seen any inkling of bad customer service as mentioned in another review here.
Very helpful, I had no idea u could tune ur guitar with an app on ur phone
John is very knowledgeable and goes that extra step to satisfy the customer. Very reasonable prices and services. Highly recommend…
Great owner; he didn’t perform the type of repair I needed for violin, but he contacted his buddy who made the repairs for less than $80.
Very friendly place, with knowledgeable people, but the used gear is over priced. Perhaps they like their equipment and instruments like their wine: aged, dry, and of course with heavy wear and tear. They offer a number of new products as well, lessons, and great repair jobs!
Very friendly. Awesome teachers.
Literally 4:08pm on a Saturday I show up. They were not open. Sign on the door says 10am-6pm. Very disappointed.
I’ve been here 3 times during store hours. nobody at the store go to another shop.
Place needs to just close! doubt me, go see what I’m talking about.

The store manager Cailey is excellent! She is very experienced, knowledgeable and very helpful! She was managed to resolve my account issue and I sincerely appreciate her advice and assistance.
Great location for student music lessons. Helpful management and staff. Love having this music store nearby in our community.
Great and professional service
TJ, the store manager, was very helpful. We’ve been going to him for 5 years for our violins and have been very pleased!
I am a piano teacher and I have been shopping at this location for many years. In general I am very pleased with the service and the selection. The staff is friendly, the shelves are well stocked, and they have a wide variety of music books and materials for piano. Anything they don’t have they can order for your or get transferred from another store. It usually arrives within a few days and they are very conscientious about calling to let you know it arrived in the store for pick-up. If there is a specific song you are looking for they will search it online and print it right there in the store for you.
They also have many good sales throughout the year. I have recommended the full-size digital pianos to my students and have always been pleased with the quality. Many times you can get full-size digital pianos for $400, which is a great deal for the decent quality. However, keep in mind that the staff works on commission so they will try and sell you the more expensive item. Listen to your music teacher, and get what they recommend, not the sales people.
They have material for both ABRSM and NFMC Federated Festival.
They are also very supportive of the local music teachers association. On a regular basic they provide hospitality and refreshments for our monthly meetings.
Several of my high school students have also worked there over the summer. I like that they are good at hiring temporary summer help.
The only thing to be cautious of is renting instruments. I have never rented so I don’t have personal experience, but I have heard stories from my students renting instruments for band or orchestra. Make sure you know all the details of the contract you’re signing and read all the fine print.
the store is awesome and has some great people behind the desk and teaching, its just unfortunate that that really handsome guy with long black hair doesnt work there anymore
Couldn’t schedule lessons at agreed time two weeks in a row. No communication or advice notice given. Big waste of time, disappointing and sheer incompetence.
Worst company , they charge you late fee, AND $15 for letting you know you are late for payments. Why late payment? Because I lost my credit card and got a new replacement, so the company called and updated it, but that only updated one account, there is 2 more account , LMFO, from same store, rent 2 instruments and a lesson, so I have 3 account, updated once is not enough……
I called and some dude named TJ hung up on me
18. Firehouse Guitars & Music
Address: 612 Medlock Rd, Decatur, GA 30033 , Rydal , Georgia , United States
Our HOA hired Tyson for our community event and he was awsome. He communicated good before the event, showed up early and knew how to work the crowd. We will be using him again.
Tyson did the music for my daughter’s wedding 3/31/18. He was awesome. Thank you Tyson the music was wonderful.
20. Musician’s Warehouse
Address: 245 N Lumpkin St, Athens, GA 30601 , Rydal , Georgia , United States
I first discovered this shop bringing my daughter to UGA. Fell in love with a fiesta “Dawg” red strat and it was still there on my next visit several months later. It was one of those limited run models that was everywhere online but harder to find in most shops – it lived up to hype.
Ed and the team in the shop helped me get it in my hands several weeks later through their online store. From start to finish a personalized, friendly, easy and straightforward purchase.
Passing through Athens and need to see some guitars?! Stop by Musician’s Warehouse in Athens, especially if you’re looking for a hard to find Fender!
One of the best music stores I’ve been to, hands down. From the experienced and knowledgeable staff to the vast selection and wide variety of music equipment and instruments this place really blew me away!
I’m road tripping with my gf at the moment and needed a piece of gear to round out my road kit, I was looking for a small head for my rig that I could record through and found an orange micro dark at this wonderful store. Not knowing too much about the product I didn’t have to stand there long before an employee approached me and answered my questions like he built the thing. I wanted to buy it on the spot.
There was a minor glitch in the machine (probably my chip to be honest) and believe it or not the owner was there within 5 minutes to resolve the problem, these guys really care about their customers and it shows in their customer care and above and beyond service. The owner (Ed) even took some cash off the final price (it was already marked down from Msrp) for the trouble.
I’ve been to music stores from Nashville to Miami to La and Phoenix and this one stands out as one of the best experiences I’ve had, I even drove back to the shop later that day (out of the way from my destination) just to buy a cable!
Next time in in Athens I know where to go for a friendly, knowledgeable and flat out amazing music store visit.
Thanks for the sweet new orange fellas!
Extremely helpful. The owner and staff are very personable and were very helpful when I wanted to try out a used pickup they were selling, which I own and use now. Great location and a relaxed environment in the store. They also offered good advice and practical suggestions when I was having trouble deciding on an amp purchase. A great local music store to keep and maintain in Athens.
Nice selection of stringed and percussion instruments. Pretty decent prices, too.
Check out the new location!
Professional assistance provided.
Poor selection. If you like grandpa guitars this is the place. Wouldnt recomend to any modern guitar players.
Dude I’m not sure what happened. The first floor is desolate (empty for everybody that’s currently reading this while dunk). I understand social distancing, but I’m I am attending Warehouse, I do not care about the current situation, I’m here to rave. Open the first floor for a mosh pit.
Really wanted to like this company. I was cheated and conned, and after a week with zero communication I contacted them. They fumbled around for another day or two then stated they couldn’t find the item. I was left empty handed and confused. No attempt at finding the item or ordering another. Nothing. Zip. C’mon guys!
