Great selection of guitars and other stringed instruments for such a small place. Very eclectic selection. owner very friendly and knowledgeable. I was looking for a sax stand, which they don’t carry. But referred me to another place close by.
Nice to step into a brick and morter music store that isn’t a corporate chain that stocks 250 identical entry level guitars..Very seasoned Working musician is always there ready to help and offer advise if needed.I cant recall his name but has long greyish hair and plays locally here in St.Augustine.Great guy and very friendly. No suit and tie or car sales man approach,He’s an actual Muscian.
IT’S A SMALL STORE, BUT THEY HAVE A GREAT SELECTION OF AWESOME GUITAR ACCESSORIES, AND GUITARS… ALSO IF YOUR GUITAR NEEDS REPAIRS THEY CAN DO THAT ALSO….
Friendly service and competitive prices
Very helpful staff…
Over Priced!!!
Told me on phone they could restring my guitar while I waited. Got there and they said the guitar would have to be left and they would call when it was done.
Bought the strings and did it myself. On
Would be nice if they opened on time. Times on door say they open at 11am. Been waiting 15 min and still not open. Frustrating!
4. Music Matters Remixed
Address: 196 State Rte 312, St. Augustine, FL 32086 , Saint Augustine Beach , Florida , United States
Eric and the staff at music matters remixed treat you as a valued guest whenever we are there. The collection of used records is vast and the prices are very reasonable. Music Matters Remixed does much with local entertainment and for the community. We are looking forward to our next visit to music matters remixed.
Very friendly and knowledgeable guys, I was browsing here and Eric asked what I was looking for and actually guided me to some casettes that he thought I may like, and I found several winners. The variety, and quality of finds here is insane, they have most all of my favorite rock/alt rock acts from the 80s/90s. I live out of state, but I will be giving this store my business online considering how personable, friendly and passionate these guys are about their store.
Great selection. Staff knows their stuff!
Great place if you need CDs but they only have the very basics as far as equipment goes. They did have a peg winder though!
Helpful
One of the last true music store. Good prices, always have the music l am looking for. Great vibe and great little heard music playing inside
MW
I stood at the counter waiting to check out the employee was with customer the new owner keep walking by with his dog he see me standing there he doesn’t come over to cash me out I waited for about 10 minutes waiting for someone to come over lame service
Horrible customer service….. just the worst
Would not sell me a record over the phone when they had just one left…… I offered my credit card ….. just hold it for me and they said no….. first come first served….. I was at work and wasn’t going to be out for a while ….. but their customer service was to not help a dude out.
I would never spend my money at this location.
5. Baird Guitar Studio
Address: 2 Oak Rd, St. Augustine, FL 32080 , Saint Augustine Beach , Florida , United States
I would never hesitate to recommend Ashley as a voice teacher. She taught me so much in the short time that I was with her, and she helped me find the confidence that I needed to go forward with music in my life. Ashley is passionate about what she does, and it’s infectious. If you’d like to make music and singing a priority in your life, you’ve come to the right place.
I had absolutely no knowledge of music or vocal talent when I met Ashley and George, and I honestly had no idea what a treasure they are to the world of music. They knew exactly how to introduce me to music (and sacred music!) I’m so grateful to have their skills and teaching abilities in our community! -Cyndil Duckworth (not Ryan 😉
pretty nice place, little dark though. be careful if you see the warden. otherwise great for resources and templates. Shriekers make nice decorations.
7. Dollar General
Address: 1953 A1A S, St. Augustine, FL 32080 , Saint Augustine Beach , Florida , United States
Good selection of products, they had everything I needed at a great price!
Small but sufficient.
Friendly
The store looked like a hurricane went through it. I talked to the manager Ray and he’s been here for months. Something is wrong with this picture here? The store is a hazard! You can’t find anything you want because none of the shelves are stocked and what is stocked is all misconfigurated. Lol. This is one store I have to laugh about! . I recommend no children or elderly people here because you may hurt yourself seriously.
very mean people work there !!!!!!! don’t like any if the workers they called the cops on a homeless man four nothing the man Beth is not nice at all
Always a line. Aisles barely navigable.
8. Betty Griffin Center Thrift Store
Address: 6509, 1961 A1A S, St. Augustine, FL 32080 , Saint Augustine Beach , Florida , United States
I’ve been going here for years! Excellent place, great stuff, wonderful employees, great prices and constant sales, huge inventory of almost every type, very clean, etc! All monies go towards a very wonderful, helpful cause! Highly recommended! Thumbs up!
This place is wonderful. Got my daughter’s Halloween costume here.
Always this place and the mission they support of help for the victims of domestic violence
This is a big thrift store and has a little bit of everything.
Seems a little expensive on some things
Fun place to thrift.
Staff was rude to my children for no reason and tried to make them clean up toys they didn’t even touch. Honestly, we are easy people, but jeez these people are rude.
Nasty Terrible not a great thrift shop but staff are help full but still the place is filled with fungus
great thrift shop but way over price. and they dont even give u a discount if u ask. One lady said they need to make a profit. I mean what profit people only give the stuff here and here they are selling it for really high price. Clothes are $3 pants are $4 its outrageous.
9. Tonevendor
Address: 81d King St, St. Augustine, FL 32084 , Saint Augustine Beach , Florida , United States
Fun record store in St. Augustine! Has that great “college town” record shop vibe . As I went there was also a stack of free posters near the door. Free Belle and Sebastian poster? A good day!
Impressive selection!
I visited when on vacation and found a Jimmy “Bo” Horne record I had been looking for. For decades. I followed them on Facebook. They are super great. They might be the only reason I would want to move to Florida.
I love Tonevendor and visit every time I come to St. Augustine. Mostly new pressings. They don’t have a ton of material but what they do have is primo. I always find more titles that I have to get than my wallet can handle.
Its a nice place with good selection but the service was rude
I was very excited for this record store. very good reviews and it looked awesome from the pictures. if you are looking to buy a well known record here, i would recommend going somewhere else. there are a few hidden gems in here for a decent price, but for the most part, this place is overpriced. many $30-40 records that you can buy for $20 at best buy or even walmart
The worst. Bought a 20 dollar LP & it had ticks + a few skips. Clean your records or grade them correctly, No reply when I asked for a refund. Avoid this shop!
Good selection, but a friendly acknowledgment/hello would be nice when customers enter the store.
Great store to find vinyl. That’s why my review is 2 stars instead of one. Story time though…
I went for RSD back in April stoked out of my mind to buy some exclusive titles. Called my friend to join me for the camp out starting at around midnight and we found ourselves first in line. 8 am the doors open. When I get inside they already have my selections laid out at the register, and then the owner proceeds to grill me about my selection of Taylor Swifts “the lakes” 7 inch amongst the 100 plus dollar tab I accumulated. Says a bunch of people have been waiting for this, they’d be upset, and was I sure about it. I told him there ain’t no way my gf would’ve let me come home without it, so he rings me up, then puts his hands in the air not wanting to touch my items or bag them. I found it odd, but just thanked him and walked out. My friend completes her transaction but comes out with a completely different story. Owner didn’t even question her record choices even though she also grabbed a T swift vinyl, wouldn’t even let her bag her own items, and said yeah this looks like you (to her selections). To say I felt profiled would be an understatement. This dude made me feel so unwelcome I’m never gonna set foot in there again. A couple months have passed since that day, but as RSD “drops” comes tomorrow I felt compelled to share my experience. On top of that most of the releases for tomorrow are hiked up 5-10 dollars more than the average record store tomorrow. Won’t be back again.
10. Mike Rocha Music
Address: 361 Orchis Rd, St. Augustine, FL 32086 , Saint Augustine Beach , Florida , United States
This is my go to local business for cigars or to just sit in a quiet place.
Ticker the owner has been here for years and is great to just chat with the…
prices are fair
This is my go to place in Saint Augustine for super premium cigars at a more than fair price. Never overblown prices on OpusX, Padron Anniversario, LFD hard to find sticks. He also has many other high-end cigars. All at a fair and reasonable prices. Smoking one as I type this review!
Friendly and helpful, awesome cigars. Glad I found this place.
Great cigar collection
Nice, old little cigar shop. Dont try to get RYO cigs or tobbaco just to save a trip
Nice place but a little pricy. But we are from out of town and they are the only place we could find that carried my brand. Thank you
Oh please just as I expected. I bought a cigar from this run down place, and the whole leaf came apart. ABC liqous takes care of their cigars better as he talked about their humidor. And they are cheaper. Sure he has a weird selection. They dont take of them.
12. STA PIANO
Address: 101 La Quinta Pl, St. Augustine, FL 32084 , Saint Augustine Beach , Florida , United States
Such amazing place to have french breakfast or lunch Including beautiful French songs. Chef has great voice. We will come here again and again and again. Amazing food and atmosphere.
Wow. Just wow. Amazing food and coffee. Authentic and incredible.
Breakfast was wonderful. We were surprised by the size of the two egg croissant omelets, they were huge! We never did get back to the restaurant to try the sweets in the display case – bummer – they looked gorgeous!
Great croissants and pastries
One of our favorites! Normally, I would give them five stars, but this visit was a little different. Hopefully, it was just an ‘off day’ for them. We arrived at 11:00, and they literally had only about three types of pastry to choose from. We ordered and stayed anyway because we LOVE their breakfast and brunch menu options. It took and hour and five minutes for our food to be delivered to our table…of course, now we had to eat it very quickly as we were pressed for time. We will definitely return as this is an atypical experience compared to previous visits.
Took a recharge day off from work & stopped by a Les Petits Pleasures, a favorite. Have not been by in a few months though and they have changed ownership after many years.
If I would have known this, I would not have come so soon after the changeover. They are still in the process of obtaining their alcohol license, so the wines that usually adorn the bookcases are not currently present. It does appear they have kept some of the same stuff though, but not the chef.
Still had some beautiful pastries on display, I got my normal blueberry and almond tart, however not quite the same & very few blueberries. One of the best decadent sandwiches in town Turkey and Bie on a croissant, which also included a seasonal fruit; except today the fruit was replaced with walnuts and honey but I’m not sure if this was just the daily variation, hopefully they will still use fruit as well.
My sandwich was “nuked.” Warm, wilted, lettuce leaves something to be desired and the sparse ingredients were haphazardly thrown together. Because of this, the picture I am including is from my last visit. I would not think it fair to share today’s, as I’m sure they are still trying to get into the groove of things.
I can however say that the croissant itself was perfect. Also hours have been extended, this is great as the shop is a very busy place normally. Now they open at 7:00 a.m. instead of 9:00, and they also have a short window on Sunday where they were previously not open on weekends.
Definitely wish the new owners great success!
I went in to get some pastries, no one acknowledged me. As I was waiting I saw the clerk take money and then grab bread with out any gloves on. When mentioned, she gave a dirty look. Don’t handle money and food. Money is filthy and it’s very unsanitary.
At 10:45, the place was empty but we were ignored at the register for over 5 minutes while an employee walked back and forth behind the counter in front of us. They were out of everything except 2 Croques Monsieurs…which he told us to go use the microwave to heat up. We left.
No Brie? No Bacon? Cold eggs! Plus, rude staff. Won’t be back.
14. Cool And Collected Vinyl Records And More
Address: 67 San Marco Ave, St. Augustine, FL 32084 , Saint Augustine Beach , Florida , United States
Beautiful pieces. Many collector assemblies to choose from. My choice was this beautiful 60’s glass tray.
Found some great records from the eighties. It was fun to show my daughter’s the music that I enjoyed. Found a couple of favorites
I could have spent all day here going through theit records. Unfortunately we didnt have that much time and the space they were in wasnt very helpful in looking thru them.
Lots of antiques! And stuff! They have records but not much variation. Still worth visiting while you are nearby. Excellent ice cream shop across the street!
Fun place. Sensory over load of “stuff.”
Nice collection
15. Redbox
Address: 1920 A1A S, St. Augustine, FL 32080 , Saint Augustine Beach , Florida , United States
Lots of St. Augustine themed products and beach stuff. Very helpful and friendly staff.
Cute stuff at a reasonable price!
Good prices
Bad service , but they have everything for the beach
It was ok. Large and contained basic tourist items. Nothing special or extraordinary ..
The greatest tourist trap there is. If you’re in town, you have to stop by for your vacation buys.
Junk!
Large selection, over priced, and rude staff.
Bought an clothing item from this store not realizing I bought the wrong size, I never put the clothing item on, wasn’t damaged or anything, when I return to the hotel right across the street from this store I happened to see the size I bought was an XL, I wear XS to a S went back the very next morning to swap them out to go-to the beach only to find out NOPE NOT ALLOWED to get refunds or exchange for a smaller size. I had to purchase another bottom, which It took me Abt a hour too find a size SMALL. 95% of this store is for LARGE AND XL people. THIS store makes it completely impossible for us small people to shop for what we need…….
Looking for an ice cream place before you hit the beach ? Check out Mayday Ice Cream. Fresh ingredients that will make you want to return for more!
Great spot, ice cream delicious, waffle cones fresh and crspy. Open, bright…great spot to go after dinner.
Odd selections and flavors.
Very clean, friendly staff, and the Ice Cream is good. $5.25 for a tiny scoop of Ice Cream is just not a family friendly value. There are other Ice cream shops on the island.
Great flavors and lots to choose from. They do have a small indoor seating area and a few tables outside. They also sell to go pints.
Ice cream way too expensive for what it is.
I have traveled many places and have had a lot of delicious ice cream. This is definitely not one of them. The flavors are kind of off. I figured, it’s not cheap, it has to be good. I was wrong.
The store was clean and nice. I give it two stars for several reasons (1) they use an oddly shaped eco-friendly dish for a two scoop serving. It is sort of like a flexible plate and the ice cream drips all over you (2) The flavors are unique and they did not have enough “standard flavors“ (3) over priced even in a vacation resort town. Can’t tell you much about the ice cream taste because it was melting so fast and dripping all over me (cold out, about 70°)
