These guys are good .Meaning they know their stuff
Extremely knowledgeable and helpful in many different areas
This is exactly what a music store should be.!!
Very helpful
Great shop and owner is awesome!
Small place but good peoples
Friendly service and competitive prices
Great little store. It’s tiny, but they have the basics to get you through the next gig or get you started learning. What they may lack in size they make up for in service. Helpful without being annoying, and they’re honest. They want you to be happy, and they won’t get you there by upselling. Sure, I wish they were 4 times the size, but they do a terrific job with what they have.
Would be nice if they opened on time. Times on door say they open at 11am. Been waiting 15 min and still not open. Frustrating!
Told me on phone they could restring my guitar while I waited. Got there and they said the guitar would have to be left and they would call when it was done.
Bought the strings and did it myself. On
I bought a guitar from 5th Century Music. They said it was new. I found out in less than a week that it was not. The G string had been replaced and the nut had been opened to almost twice the size of the string. I took it back the second day because I couldn’t keep it tuned. They sold me a tuner. They said the one I had was no good. I kept the guitar for a week and I got tired of tuning it. I took it back to the store and asked for a refund. The salesman called the owner and asked if it was ok to give me a refund. The owner said no and the salesman pointed out a very small handmade sign that said no refunds. The sign was not there the day I bought the guitar or on the second day I went there. I left the guitar at the store with the salesman and I am now working with my credit card company.
3. Ancient City Music
Address: 100 N Matanzas Blvd, St. Augustine, FL 32080 , Saint Augustine , Florida , United States
pretty nice place, little dark though. be careful if you see the warden. otherwise great for resources and templates. Shriekers make nice decorations.
I had absolutely no knowledge of music or vocal talent when I met Ashley and George, and I honestly had no idea what a treasure they are to the world of music. They knew exactly how to introduce me to music (and sacred music!) I’m so grateful to have their skills and teaching abilities in our community! -Cyndil Duckworth (not Ryan 😉
I would never hesitate to recommend Ashley as a voice teacher. She taught me so much in the short time that I was with her, and she helped me find the confidence that I needed to go forward with music in my life. Ashley is passionate about what she does, and it’s infectious. If you’d like to make music and singing a priority in your life, you’ve come to the right place.
4. Tonevendor
Address: 81d King St, St. Augustine, FL 32084 , Saint Augustine , Florida , United States
Tonevendor is an incredible, legit record store. Owner, staff, and mission are all super stellar. Support this place!
Very well managed store. They know where all of their vinyl is. You can spend many hours browsing through their collections
Good selection but don’t ask for any bundle deals, even if you are dropping $150…it’s “not a flea market”.
Its a nice place with good selection but the service was rude
Terrible. The most unpleasant experience I’ve ever had on discogs. Mistakes happen but the way these people handle it is disgusting. They are arrogant, unapologetic, whiney and selfish. I paid shipping both ways to correct their mistake. Never again.
EDIT: The below review is a reply to the message below it
1. Yes, I did place the order on Discogs.
2. No, they didn’t send a color (orange) LP. Standard black, unlike what was advertised.
3. True, I couldn’t be bothered to go through the whole process of shipping back and forth, so I kept the record. They messed up in the past, and made me pay for shipping; so I didn’t trust they wouldn’t try that again. To be fair this was an assumption on my part
4. No full refund was offered, we didn’t get that far. I told them I was cutting my losses
5. My review on Discogs did not include derogatory language or false information. This is a lie and, ironically, “libelous”; a word that he seems to throw around without actually knowing what it means. I did throw the word loser around in a private message, but that wasn’t public (until now).
6. His negative feedback of me on Discogs was also removed. My rating on that site stands at 100% positive (20 reviews)
7. Petty? Maybe, but who cares? I have another account, and didn’t realize I hadn’t switched to it. Oh well
8. I told them I would never return as a customer, and so he tries to hold the last laugh by banning me. So what? Good riddance
The reason for this review is to rightfully state my experience with Tonevendor. On more than one occasion they messed up. I was not satisfied with their service, and they don’t get to tell me what I can (or can’t) state in a review. I see “rude” listed on other reviews here, and I wholeheartedly agree. That would sum up my experience. What’s funny is that he will say I am the rude one, and that I’m a “nightmare to work with” customer. Why I am I spending this much time on one review? Because there seems to be an injustice here that I don’t vibe with, so I am sharing my experience. Thanks
Good selection, but a friendly acknowledgment/hello would be nice when customers enter the store.
5. STA PIANO
Address: 101 La Quinta Pl, St. Augustine, FL 32084 , Saint Augustine , Florida , United States
Found some great records from the eighties. It was fun to show my daughter’s the music that I enjoyed. Found a couple of favorites
Beautiful pieces. Many collector assemblies to choose from. My choice was this beautiful 60’s glass tray.
I could have spent all day here going through theit records. Unfortunately we didnt have that much time and the space they were in wasnt very helpful in looking thru them.
Very well organized and easy to go though records. I have tired of digging and did not have to here. Just didn’t have surf Beach Boys style records. Maybe next time.
I saw a lot of nice things, but came across and item that wasn’t exactly vintage. I had one of the vases they were selling for $95+. It’s about 12 years old which I wouldn’t exactly consider “vintage.” They did have a lot of things, and maybe they collect things that are modern just to sell, but they shouldn’t throw the word vintage on everything just to make a buck. The owner never visits the store but had some really cool things that weren’t for sale. I feel like everything in the showcases should be up for grabs or not there at all. The prices on some of the things were really up there. Like vinals you could probably find at Walmart for half the price they were selling them for.
Edit. I did some research on the vase I have like the one in the pic and discovered some very interesting news. It is actually vintage, and worth more than I thought. I hadn’t realized that the vinyls were original either so I’m really happy i got the one I did. I’ll definitely go back next time I’m in st Augustine.
Nice collection
7. A&T records
Address: 62 San Marco Ave, St. Augustine, FL 32084 , Saint Augustine , Florida , United States
It’s like opening a time capsule. I could have spent all day there. The owner is a lovely person to chat with.
Absolutely love this store they have cds new and used DVD’s Lp’s. They also sell musical instruments as well as strings or other parts for other instruments you might play. They have needles for your record player incense stickers they also purchase DVD’s or Cds you no longer want. There is so much more if you love music or are just curious to see what’s there I would definitely check out this place.
Classic record shop with the biggest selection I have seen in years. I will be back
Great selection and pricing of vinyl, but need more R & B!!
Good prices and selection
Great place if you need CDs but they only have the very basics as far as equipment goes. They did have a peg winder though!
I stood at the counter waiting to check out the employee was with customer the new owner keep walking by with his dog he see me standing there he doesn’t come over to cash me out I waited for about 10 minutes waiting for someone to come over lame service
Horrible customer service….. just the worst
Would not sell me a record over the phone when they had just one left…… I offered my credit card ….. just hold it for me and they said no….. first come first served….. I was at work and wasn’t going to be out for a while ….. but their customer service was to not help a dude out.
I would never spend my money at this location.
9. Brooks’ Music Studio
Address: 1531 Masters Dr, St. Augustine, FL 32084 , Saint Augustine , Florida , United States
Been here twice during the day, there are no hours posted and the place looks deserted. Wish I could come by, I’d love to frequent a music store close to home.
10. JAM-OLOGY
Address: 69 S Dixie Hwy Suite A, St. Augustine, FL 32084 , Saint Augustine , Florida , United States
I am a professional recording artist and song writer. I have been in many studios around the country and Jam-ology is one of the finest. Great plug-ins with fantastic sounds And top-of-the-line equipment. Joe Targove Studio Engineer is a master at his craft In engineering, mixing and musicianship. There are many other artistic outlets in this organization. So if you’re a songwriter, recording artist or you want your kids to learn an instrument or other artistic forms check them out, the staff is great! ….. D
This is a business that transforms lives in a magical way. You can look at it as a music school, audio/video production studio, song writing clinic, management training, summer camp, or a million other things and as right as you would be it is only the surface of what Jam-ology is. If you or your child has any interest in any aspect of the music industry this is the place to be. Thank you Jam-ology for what you are!
I enrolled my son in the Jamology club four months ago to learn how to play the keyboard. I knew it would be a challenge because my son was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum disorder. It was the best decision of my life. My son loves coming to Jamology. Mike, Christian and David (music teachers) make my son feel so welcomed each time he comes to practice. They are very patient, caring and and fun to be around. With the help of Jamology my son has been able to open up and express how he’s feeling through music. My son has also made 3 freestyle tracks. Jamology has such a inviting and friendly atmosphere for all ages and disabilities.
THIS IS ONLY ON THE SUMMER CAMP
My child comes home daily complaining about the little children terns out most of the time it’s 6to 9 year olds (my child is 13) my kid complains about basically having to babysit children my kid did not like the age range also mike would always get onto my kid and my kids friend about somthing everone else was doing i WILL NOT BE SENDING MY CHILD BACK
What they say on the website for the camp and what they actually do at camp are completely different also at this camp it’s mostly 6-9 year old not fun most stuff is half hearted if u have a older kid (12-16) they will mostlikly be left incharge of the children most times
