I needed a quick truss rod adjustment and these guys took care of it real quick. Good selection of gear, new and used. Cool cats.

Very friendly and helpful staff.
Friendly staff. Good prices. Went in for an E string and a bass amp. They had what I needed and I was on my way. Nice little shop.
All ways get good help
My experience at De-No Music Center was a blessing!! The people that work there are very professional and really are good people!!! Very friendly and care about their customers!!! I recommend De-No Music Center for all your music needs!!! They have a wide range of music and equipment for any event or music needs!!! Hallelujah Amen
Very friendly & affordable.
I’ve been there quite a few times before. As a child the owner was alright but somehow he just became rude after a while. There was a time when I was 19(9 years ago) and there was an 800 dollar Jackson on the wall that I really wanted. I brought $850 dollars with me and jammed out on it for about 5 minutes, the owner came up to me and said “If you put one scratch on this I’m going to make you pay for it, do you understand?” I know I look young and I looked about 15 at the time but there have been several times(like yesterday{let me play for 4 minutes and told my party to leave when I wanted to buy a practice amp}) that I brought money in to make a purchase of over 300 dollars and he makes me uncomfortable or says something rude. If you need a reed, or if you need a rental, this is a good place. If you’re a musician, and you want to try stuff out, drive 40 minutes, the owner has been rude to me for 15 years. I swear he hates musicians.
Went to buy a guitar but no assistance from the clerk was offered and large sign indicated you can’t touch them without assistance so we left. Makes it difficult to make a purchase. To be fair the clerk was waiting on another customer but just continued to ignore us and didn’t even bother to say “hello” when we entered the store. Not much available there in the way of instruments unless you need used amps, guitar stands, cheap guitars, or ukuleles.
Came in for guitar picks and strings and was thinking of buying an acoustic guitar on the wall. I asked if I could play it he said “yes”. I played a couple chords and got kicked out for playing it to “hard”.
2. Brindley’s Music Center
Address: 836 N Arizona Ave, Chandler, AZ 85225 , San Carlos , Arizona , United States
My sons tuba was having problems and Jake had it fixed within minutes. He took the time to show me what to look out for next time. Brought it back for a cleaning and he did fantastic.
Super knowledgeable! I called with questions about a specific guitar for my husband out of states and he helped me find answers. I appreciate all his help and aid in steering me in the right direction. My husband has had his eyes on this and its been the most difficult dream to help him achieve. I will only come to Bruce Brindleys shop because he actually takes the time and cares about his customers. That is how I know he’ll take care of my husbands sweet pride and joy when I find it! Thanks so much for your help. Happy Holidays!
Excellent repair service on my guitar, quick turnaround and no fuss. Forget the big corporate Music chains, Its knowledgeable people in local stores like Brindley’s that are a cut above. Support your local music stores.
Good music store for those looking for something specific…not much to look at for those who want to look around or window shop (especially for drum equip). Other than that, it’s a good local music shop. They used to make their own brand of drumsticks, which were GREAT, but last time I went they said they no longer make them. Bummer!
This place is cool. Ppl are nice. IN THE HOOD IM LIKE PRINCESS DIANNA!!!

It was very awesome service but milanos was cheaper books were 8.00 and care kits were10.00 and at brindleys it was almost 16.00 and for book it was 10
First off, I want to be upfront, I intended to rent a bell kit form this store for my 5th grade daughter. I didn’t get that far, so I think it’s only fair to disclose, this review is entirely based on my first impression.
Friday I spoke to a woman on the phone who was very helpful. I ended up reserving the bell kit online to pick up at the store on Saturday. I’ll admit I never checked their closing time and I, unfortunately, arrived in their parking lot on Saturday at 5:03PM. They closed at 5:00PM. I have my very excited 5th grader in the car, so I thought, I’m not going to give up, yet. There were customers still exiting the store. I grabbed the door and went in as one of them exited. I went to the checkout counter where I explained my situation briefly to the man still checking customers out. He made it seem like it was something they could possibly do, until a woman walked up and immediately shut it down. She explained they could not check me out today and I would have to come back on Monday when they opened at 10:00AM. Again, I want to be clear, it was my fault for being late. They had already closed. I completely understand why they shouldn’t have to help me out, but they were clearly still checking people out, so the registers weren’t closed. All I’m saying is, how nice would that have been if they did help. It would have been a really nice gesture that could have gone a long way. I still have two more kids coming up behind my 5th grader that will most likely want to be in their 5th grade band, too. Plus, I’m a mom and mom’s talk. I would have definitely spread the word about a place that went out of their way to help me. It’s a shame. I’m all about supporting family owned businesses. They are usually the ones that make these types of exceptions for people.
I went here to have a new nut out on an old guitar of mine. The nut is cut too short making the strings buzz. Now I am left fixing it myself which sucks since I paid almost $60 to have it fixed.
Expensive and poor service. took my beautiful holton Bb trumpet their to have the 2nd valve slide replaced. it is a standard mass produced turmpet, ans WAS worth about $650. it was beautiful with a sparkeling finish. they lost my order and it took 3 weeks when I called them to inquire about it. i was told $40 to fix the slide (found out later that part only cost $15) and it would take a week. they chem washed it, wich i said to not do and it RUINED my trumpet. it looks like crap, their is 3 dents in my bell where their weren’t any before and after i called at the 3 week point it still took another 2 for them to get around to fixing it. in the end, they ruined my finish, put the wroung part on, and dented my trumpet multiple times. O AND they expected me to pay $85 for it all. they chem washed it because they forgot to write down the repair needed and assumed it was a was, and they charged me for their mistake. Good at smooth talking but anyone can seem like they know what their saying. they were horrabile and unless you want to over pay and have your instrument ruined, dont go here. o and my sisted paid $1000 for a flute which was “new”…the saudering from when it was returned to them from the last owner broke in about a week and they repaired it wroung 3 times before they got it right where it broke again 3 days later.
3. Milano Music
Address: 38 W Main St, Mesa, AZ 85201 , San Carlos , Arizona , United States
Wonderful experience. Awesome business. Excellent customer service. Wonderful environment. A must-see historical music store. I highly recommend it to musician and novice alike.
My son takes music lessons here and it’s been a great experience.
Buy local. Always worth it over online – great service, friendly folks, great prices if you’re nice. 10/10
More pricey than Music and Arts, and Guitar Center but a good store that meets all music needs. I always try Music and Arts first but sometimes end up here as their selection is Great. They have everything or can get it.
The employees are friendly and attentive. They are also knowledgeable and willing to explain the differences and history of each brand.
Local shops with hometown feel. Little eclectic but can tell it caters to the community as opposed to the big box music stores.
They have charged my card for my brothers Instrument twice even after I told them to take my card info off the account. Obviously they lied about doing so because they just today charged me again. They can’t keep their files in order and because of them my bank account is all screwed up.
Great place to see instruments! However the service really isn’t top notch. When I went to purchase a guitar since I am a learner, the salesmen really hesitated to truly assist me since they weren’t going to make much commission. One of the reps (John)told me in the end that i bought a “cheap guitar”. Really undermined My excitement and enthusiasm. Truly a great place for it all except service.
I went to get a guitar part, they sold me the wrong one, I called and the person who answered the phone said they would do an even swap, as the prices were THE SAME! I got there after walking 3 miles in the rain, explained the phone call to the person in their Parts Department, he found the right part, but wanted to CHARGE ME FOR THE PART! He refused to believe they sold me the wrong part, and still charged me for the replacement. If I wasn’t in a time crunch, I would have gone elsewhere. Will NOT be returning to that store for ANY reason EVER AGAIN!
4. Majestic Music LLC
Address: 4431 S White Mountain Rd # C10, Show Low, AZ 85901 , San Carlos , Arizona , United States
Very helpful both people working extremely knowledgeable and got me everything I needed at a fair price. Got a fender amp works great new strings tuner etc
Owner was very knowledgeable and directed me to just what I needed.
Friendly environment and nice guy. Easy to talk to and knew what I need. Would definitely recommend.
Good selection of products.
Love the store great service.
Have a lot of good instruments and accessories. Very helpful, too!
Oldest guy there was being very rude and threw an the amp cord that i was using while testing a guitar on the ground
5. Music & Arts
Address: 7040 E Hampton Ave, Mesa, AZ 85209 , San Carlos , Arizona , United States
I went in to get a capo for my guitar and checked out the ukuleles and guitars. Very nice instruments. After awhile an employee asked if I needed help. I got the right capo and thumb picks. Very friendly staff.
I grew up a band nerd so it’s exciting our daughter finally chose an instrument… but it’s all new to us since it’s the violin. We walked this store and was having trouble finding and deciding on items. The younger guy at the counter finished with a customer and came quickly over. He definitely saved the day. He explained rosin to us, the shoulder pad and found the needed books. It’s fantastic to have a music store with amazing customer service. We will return
They were kind enough to let us jam on their amp and electric guitar
Very basic selection.
Great place to purchase or repair an instrument. Alwayd friendly and provides suggestions based on cost for anything the sale or service. Strongly recommend Music and Arts.
Went to the Music and Arts store today to purchase drumsticks and lessons. Couldn’t use my Canadian Credit card or American cash? Very disappointed
NEGATIVE STARS IS MORE LIKE IT!!! I have had the WORST experience dealing with the customer service from Music and Arts. Everytime me or my husband try to call and resolve our bill we get told a different story! NOONE has helped us resolve the issue and it’s been over 4 months now. The amount of money I have paid Music and Arts already, I could have boughten an instrument. NOT worth the hassel and absolute HORRIBLE customer service!!! Save your money and time and go somewhere else!!
Spent my money elsewhere because of the masks requirement.
6. Monty’s Music
Address: 4845 E Greenway Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85254 , San Carlos , Arizona , United States
Great store!! Took in a Dulcimer for strings and tune up. Fantastic service!!
Monty is an icon in the music industry as he is almost 30 years of retail in this Arena.
Monty offers repairs instruments and assorted other Musical items he also brings a wealth of knowledge and one is willing to listen. Monty is a one-man show and therefore at times individuals might be inconvenienced but for what you get from him it’s worth the wait if you have to. Monty has repaired a number of my instruments and I have purchased a bass and amplifier from them with a guarantee that if anything goes wrong he’ll take care of it. He’s a righteous dude
They don’t close at 6. The sign says 6ish. Literally. That means before 5:45 anyway.
I love these guys, but just close at 5 or whatever. 6ish isnt helpful at all.
I went in at 6:30 and the doors were closed at 6 ish at the door and online it says they’re open till 7 so I wasted my time going in and they’re closed
I have NEVER encountered such a rude owner. I will never go here again.
Would not recommend this store to anyone, the teachers are sarcastic and condescending. Very underwhelming, uninspiring store, not to mention the Guitars are Rip Offs. Guitar Center is much Better.
7. The Music Store
Address: 2630 W Baseline Rd, Mesa, AZ 85202 , San Carlos , Arizona , United States
By far the best guitar repair shop I’ve ever been to. Brendan is an amazing guitar tech (sorry if that’s the wrong title Brendan). The guy is magic! Plus, they have anything you need for guitar and if you’re in band class they definitely have everything you need!
This store is awesome, first time I have been in such a friendly place. Adrian was super friendly and very helpful. Helped us get everything my son needed for his first year in band. Thank you for all your advice and help highly recommend.
Stopped in to inquire about and check out their Tom Anderson guitars. The young man at the front was very helpful and pointed me in the direction of Jon, the Anderson expert. Had a nice chat with Jon about the process of ordering a custom model from Anderson, and he showed me the guitars they have in stock. He had a lot of useful information and was very helpful in detailing the order process and popular specs. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a nice guitar, or a Mesa Boogie amplifier, which they have quite a selection of. Very well-organized store.
Great verify of sheet music and ukuleles and an awesome luthier.
The instruments we have rental have been pretty worn but still work well and it is an OK deal for the price. Customer service is helpful and friendly. We have been pleased with our violin rental over this past year and will continue renting here into the next school year.
Fui una vez a ver las guitars
I have been coming to this music store for years since I was a child. I know that their prices are higher than ordering online, but I’ve still paid their higher prices to support them. Today I came in with a question about how to get a simple cleaning rag, which was stuck, out of an instrument. The guy behind the counter was extremely rude did not answer any of my questions, told me that no one in the entire store had any experience with this sort of question. Sorry to say, but I will not be giving my business to the store any longer. I would recommend milano’s music, or ordering online.
They have nothing for the drummer! Maybe some sheet music? But nothing more!
I’m renting a clarinet and they gave it uncleaned (had old spit) and with broken parts. Horrible customer service. My tried fixing the first rental, but after a week, they just returned it without fixing anything.
8. Sam Ash Music Stores
Address: 4402 W Cactus Rd, Glendale, AZ 85304 , San Carlos , Arizona , United States
Very knowledgeable and encouraging advise was offered. As well as great service.
Loved this store, can be there for hours. Staff was nice and helpful 🙂
Great stuff for any budget. From vintage amps to instruments…all one could think of. Staff attentive, knowledgeable and helpful but not pushing it at all.
Good Quality music store.
Huge location. Didn’t have the best selection but couldn’t really complain. They price match and the staff were friendly.
Better than the local GC that’s for damn sure.
No. Tienen mucho surtido en portaguitarras, tampoco en cuerdas. Ni en guitarras clásicas Fender.
Sam Ash in Phoenix has gone down hill. They really have a low end selection of guitars right now in there. From brands I’ve never heard of. They had maybe 2 Les Paul classics and that was it for higher end guitars.
When we go and play on instruments they look at us like we’re stilling. One of the workers even asked us are we going to buy anything real rude.
We tried asking the workers how something sounded
And he got really defensive and started debating in a rude tone. It was just a BAD experience!!! Never going back !!! Plz save ur time
9. Music Masters
Address: 6990 E Shea Blvd Suite 110, Scottsdale, AZ 85254 , San Carlos , Arizona , United States
Great music store for lassons and instruments Everything in music Woodwin, Brass, String and modern. Visit the store its feally set up great
Highly recommend anyone looking for music equipment. Especially if you need instrument rentals for school. Support locally owned shops like this. Mathew was great helping us.
Great place if you need to find stuff for any instrument. The owner is very knowledgeable on instruments and they offer music lessons. If I lived in the area I would love to get guitar lessons.
Nice music shop. Looking into violin refresher lessons.
I’ve visited the store several times while shopping for a cello. The selection is limited, but they have more on the website you can order from. The staff have always been patient with my many questions as well as willing to go to any lengths to find in-depth answers on finishes, woods and construction. I’d recommend them.
10. John’s Corner Music Shop
Address: 8680 AZ-69, Prescott Valley, AZ 86314 , San Carlos , Arizona , United States
Some of my strings were buzzing, so I dropped my guitar off at John’s Corner for a change of strings and a setup. After oiling the fretboard and changing the strings, Chris and Jack discovered that the buzzing had gone away. When I came back for my guitar, I was only charged $10 (the price of the strings). They could have easily told me they had made minor adjustments to the neck and charged me another $25 for the setup, but they didn’t.
Let me add that $25 for a setup is by far the best price anywhere in Prescott. I’ll definitely be checking John’s Corner first for any of my future music needs.
Great service, great owners! Cheapest guitar setups in towns. Not like other places around here that change $80 or more, just to make a few quick adjustments, and call it a day.
A local music store ran by a knowledgeable owner. John has good instruments for sale at decent prices. If you have any questions regarding guitars, amplifiers, or their many accessories John can answer them.
wouldn’t give it even one star! I just went in to grab some guitar strings and was never once acknowledged the whole time I was there. Not even a greeting. needless to say I walked out. Not sure what the deal is in this town but I have yet to encounter any sort of professionalism with the businesses here!!!
Low quality gear that is way over priced.
11. Boogie Music
Address: 3562 W Cactus Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85029 , San Carlos , Arizona , United States
Haven’t even brought the guitar in yet to be worked on, and I’m already sold! The awesome dude who took my call literally answered every question I had before I could even ask them. Solid pricing as well! \m/
Great service! They’ve been serving the west valley for a long time. Love that they have lesson space in the back.
Good place limited selection
I got my first drum set from Boogie 20 years ago. They’ve been in business a long time! They have competitive pricing and a pretty good selection of great. I would suggest Boogie music over one of the larger chain music stores because of their competitive pricing, in-depth knowledge of their products, and quality customer server.
They have a nice selection for a small place. Fair prices too!
Was treated very rudely by the owner. Went there to try to sell them a guitar and he looked at my guitar and very rudely in my opinion said he wasn’t interested at all then I continue to look around the store for a little bit with some friends. I saw a stand up bass which I wanted to play in the Jazz way there was no sign or anything mentioning that this was not theirs and that this was someone’s that was there for repair. I started to play on it after moving it from where it was and the owner came back and said something to the effect of that’s not ours man that’s here for repair or something else similar. He did not at all say excuse me but that’s not our instrument can you please put it back in like a nice calm manner he said it in a way that I took very rudely and that you’ve been my friends which was 3 agreed was very rude. On top of that I feel like although the store is kind of cool because it does have some older vintage instruments from the early 20th century I just personally think that I Won’t Go Back unless that is my only option. Not everyone probably gets rude customer service but I definitely did.
The person at the store followed me around the store the entire time and was super critical on how I played the guitars (which was not abusive or disrespectful). Made me not feel welcome or wanted. I would buy from anywhere else. Wish this was not true, I love little music stores.
The only reason I go to Boogie Music is for the absolutely wonderful work the Luthier, Brent does on my guitars at a very reasonable price. He gets 5 stars!!! Also the instructors are very good, at least I can say that for the guitar instructors. Now the reason for the rating. They have poor selection and fairly high prices. As far as guitars go, they only stock Taylor guitars (which are very good). Go try them there and find a better price on line. They do have some electrics, but mostly used or consignment. Now, the number one reason for the poor review is the owner. I give him a rating of ONE! To say this man is unpleasant, is being generous. He doesn’t want to answer or makes you wait for the simplest of question. He can’t handle more the one thing at a time. He will not let you see or talk to the other staff in the shop. Just today I picked up a couple of guitars I had work done on. The luthier was out. I said OK and paid for the work and took my guitars. I got home check them over and all was perfect. I wanted to call the shop and thank Brent personally for the fine work. The owner answered the phone and I asked to speak to Brent. He said, he’s to busy and we are taking all calls for him. Didn’t ask if I could leave a number and have him call me back. No pleasantries of any kind and would not let me speak with him, period! No other options where given to me. I have been going there because of the luthier for over two years now. I stopped going for months because I didn’t want to run into to the owner. So my suggestion is, if you want great work done on your guitar and can avoid the owner, go. Otherwise find somewhere else. All the other staff is quite pleasant. Unfortunately I will have to find another place to go. I’m not willing to deal with that kind of altitude and service from this person.
12. Guitar Center
Address: 1652 S Val Vista Dr Suite 118, Mesa, AZ 85204 , San Carlos , Arizona , United States
Not a religious man but this is my church…. Metal Church
Great stock spanning beginner and intermediate models alike.
The staff will always help you find a good deal and a quality product in their store. Most of the employees have used some of the products in their stores so they can recommend a certain item that they like. For example, I was looking for an electronic drumset and when I needed a pedal and chair they didn’t try to oversell me, but instead helped me find the best value for my budget. I always love this store.
Meh
I like that place, got everything u need and more
My bass was fixed quickly
I was there today I standing there waiting for some help there was a young blonde hair kid there and after 5 minutes I asked do you work here he replied Yes I said I need help he couldn’t answer my questions about guitar amps and said that’s not my department he didn’t know about anything and he seemed like he was as smart as a Rock well I be going there again WOW maybe get a job at McDonald’s or something
Don’t go val Vista guitar center there dummies I never seen a business ran like that
I have been to the Guitar Centers in the east valley and they all treated me like I was bothering them. The one in Mesa was the worse.
Site only gets one star with my review
13. Jacob’s Music Shoppe
Address: 1682 E Fry Blvd, Sierra Vista, AZ 85635 , San Carlos , Arizona , United States
Very nice and polite staff. They are cool and laid back. I took my 12 string in to be restrung and tuned. Jon straightened her neck and even played a song for me on my guitar. Highly recommend! I will be back.
Though I miss the previous owner, The new owners are great. Very helpful, friendly and great to speak with. I’ve purchased a guitar and quite a few other things and completely happy with the service I received. Support a small local business! need something they don’t have, they can order it for you!
Great place to get your musician related needs
Nice place. Good range of instruments for reasonable prices. Friendly people.
Everything went great in my business dealings with them until I went to their bank to cash their check. The bank did not want to cash it- they made me wait 20 minutes while the teller had a conference with the manager. Long story short National Bank charged me $8.00 for the privilege of getting real money. I was to get $400 for my guitar but I only got $392 this is not fair. I think Jacob should give me the 8 dollars to make it right but he will not pay in money, only checks. This is not right.
