Good teachers, however, it could use some refurbishing.
My son has been taking classes from Rouzane for seven years in this school. He just recently graduated Level 10 of the Certificate of Merit Exam, getting awarded State Honors. He has also participated in various competitions. I am grateful for the dedication and professional guidance he received from this school that is not easily found elsewhere. I recommend this school for students who want to learn piano at all levels.
School calls itself Russian Virtuoso Music Academy I brought my child there and find out owners and all teachers are Armenian, most study in Armenia, not Russian. Probably none ever been to Russia. False advertisement. Call it Armenian Academy …be proud of you background
Excellent location with wonderful teachers. Teachers are very friendly and professional, and are very dedicated to their students. Instruments and accessories are available at the music school so you don’t have to go looking for it somewhere else. I just started beginning guitar lessons and have been very pleased with my results!
Located on a convenient stretch of Huntington Drive, SMMC is an inviting place to take music lessons. The staff are friendly and caring. The instructors are dedicated and very encouraging. My children take guitar, drums and violin lessons at SMMC and they look forward to their lessons every week. They have made great progress since starting here several months ago. An additional bonus is the very reasonable rates at SMMC. I’ve been recommending them to all my friends without reservations.
This is a great, conveniently located place with everything you need! It has great teachers for every instrument. My 3 children have Sisilia as their piano teacher, and I have guitar lessons with John at the same time, making it really convenient for our busy family. They also sell music books, instruments, and accessories. The instructors are very friendly, talented, and professional. My kids have already improved immensely since starting with them 2 months ago. Can’t recommend this place enough!
7. Odyssey Innovative Designs
Address: 809 W Santa Anita St, San Gabriel, CA 91776 , San Gabriel , California , United States
Great service and friendly. Have many Odyssey bags it all works great.
The best place ever…..
I have purchased several products from Odyssey, and all the products have been great through the years. I recently had an issue with a flight case latch, and they were prompt to provide repair / replacement services, and even followed up to make sure I was satisfied. Keep up the great work Odyssey.
Bought the Odyssey LTP2 Tripod Stand With T-Bar – well made yet lightweight. Only negative is that it doesn’t come with easy tighten T-Bar fasteners (must be purchased separately)
Dave’s a guitar genius and a fantastic teacher. My progress since taking lessons with Dave has been stratospheric. I’m not only practicing my favorite songs and guitar techniques, but I’m also learning how to read music too.
Most of David Chavez’s students will tell you, this guy is hilarious, patient, and extremely talented; if you pull me aside and ask how do I like being a student at Vez Guitar Academy, well I would say I am very happy my friend stumbled across Dave’s ad on the paper one summer day, waved it over my face and called the number herself because I refused to call myself.
I hadn’t intend on getting lessons, let alone keep paying for over a year of private lessons, but Vez Guitar Academy is currently a permanent stay on my schedule and I have enjoyed every moment of learning experience under Dave’s mentoring and teaching. The moment I actually and finally spoke to Dave on the phone I thought “yeah go book an appointment” and we started from there.
It was a rought start for me. I had very miniscule exposure to music theory but love all sorts of genre it has to offer. I listen to most, from the sad melodies of country to the imaginative improvisations of jazz. I also have a crazy schedule and that often leaves little to no time for practice. Dave will push to get some practice in, because that is the only way to get the basics under your belt, but he understands that everyone has different lifestyles and schedules. As for his style of teaching, he will always give you more than you think you can handle, but in the end, like I had discovered, it all made sense after a few more sessions. Never forget to ask questions and ask how to improve. Just like any other things in life, your results will depend on how much time and effort you put in yourself.
During my own sessions, I’d struggle and get frustrated, but Dave’s ok with that. Get your frustrations out, ask questions, ask for suggestions and Dave will patiently point out what you can do better and suddenly after a few more tries, it clicks, if doesn’t then he tells you to keep trying.
So if you are looking to find a place that will guide you to become an amazing guitar player, you have found the right place and teacher for an amazing price too.
We have used this awesome family owned many times for repairs on our guitars. Great business!
10. Aeolus Music Instrument Repair
Address: 3403 Delta Ave, Rosemead, CA 91770 , San Gabriel , California , United States
I met Scott just earlier today and he seems like a great guy. I brought my trombone in for minor repairs and he had it ready to take home in no time. He charged very little relative to the quality of work and gave me some great advice on maintaining my tormbone for the future. If you do want to bring your instruments in for repair, please call ahead of time so you don’t drop in unexpectedly like I did and interupt his other projects.
Scott was very thorough and his price is fair. will def come back again if I need my sax repaired.
Reasonable prices, knowledgeable and very accommodating. My son had a competition the following day and he was able to fix it on the spot. We are very grateful – THANK YOU!!!
I wish I never brought my sax here. 🙁
*WATCH OUT!*
Had my sax for over a month!!!! Was supposed to be a 2week job. Never contacted me – at 3weeks I called him and he started pulling this “a couple more days” thing. Then after several days of that he finally said it was done and ready to pick up, and arranged a time to come get it – and the morning of our appointment he canceled again!!! That was yesterday.
DO NOT BRING YOUR INSTRUMENT HERE!
*I’m a saxophone teacher, by the way.
Better to go anywhere else – anywhere.
I am warning you all.*
This morning about an hour ago I finally got the saxophone back. And only because I was forced to have to seriously threaten him with coming down with police to get my saxophone out of his possession.
After more than 1month, with only a 2week estimated wait, HE NEVER EVEN STARTED WORK! I honestly cannot believe this. The sax is in the same condition as when I dropped it off. My clarinet repair person would never ever be like this. I’ve never had anything like this from anyone, except here.
He said directly to me on the phone several days ago that he had already finished most of the work and was just was getting keys back on lining that up.
HE WILL ACTUALLY LIE TO YOU!
After threatening to come down with police if he canceled the appointment again, instead of continuing to blow me off, he decided to drive to my house & leave the sax behind our gate. He was literally just holding the saxophone away from me for a month when I could have dropped it off with real professionals somewhere and have had it back nice & fixed weeks ago.
*This is not a storefront, this literally is just the one repair guy working out of his garage.* Which is fine, but he’s coming off as a storefront. That address listed is his house, he works there.
Won’t fix your instrument if it’s a big project, will just keep blowing it off.
This is not a legitimate repair place for gigging or teaching professionals nor for serious students.
I wished none of this happened. I really really wish I never brought my sax here. I wanted to find a good legit repair tech. This is NOT that. NOT AT ALL.
11. San Marino Music Center
Address: 2575 Mission St, San Marino, CA 91108 , San Gabriel , California , United States
This is not just a music school, it is a place where people can learn music and the fundamentals of music, but also where the younger students can learn how to concentrate in today’s fast world of high velocity information flows. Kids need a challenge and need discipline, I found that our daughter Lucy really excelled here and will continue to go for the foreseeable future.
Very nice staff!
My son has been taking ukulele lessons with Mr. Jason since the pandemic. He loves it. We even bought the ukulele from them. Their price is competitive and they have good quality instruments. I feel good to be able to support this lovely small business in my community.
Good music teachers but the person working the desk is stuck up and condescending.
12. Piano Laboratory
Address: S Anderson Way, San Gabriel, CA 91776 , San Gabriel , California , United States
The best educational and music school for our K to 6 children and they have been the business for 30 years. I know many friends’ kids also went there for MPM and after school program and getting excellent results.
Wish to be able to understand. If you’re looking for some peace, do not hesitate to stop by
Not bad musical teachers
15. Guitar Center
Address: 3000 Market Pl Dr, Monterey Park, CA 91755 , San Gabriel , California , United States
Staff is friendly when they want to. Like every retail store though I’m sure they get annoyed by all the people coming in.
Limited stock on advertised items
It has beautiful things in the store.
If you purchase a defective item like I did from this store and they refuse to return the item because you didn’t purchase the warranty and it’s outside the return window, you can just let them know that you intend on filing a small claims court case to resolve the issue and that you have logged the hours spent on the matter. If you purchased the item under a year ago, there’s a very good chance you will win.
I purchased a defective Mackie Thump Go which stopped working and turning off after 5 months of use. My calls to this store were useless and my emails were ignored. I then reached out to a different store and they helped me thanks to the steps I outlined above.
I just hope all musicians are treated fairly and with respect and that our business is respected!
Cheers 🙂
Wasn’t there
Not good one of the sells rep is unrespectful i did not like it have bad experience.
16. studio quartet
Address: 112 N Earle St, San Gabriel, CA 91775 , San Gabriel , California , United States
Low level music school. Empty most of the time. Some poor kids taught to mechanically bang out test pieces by couple of college students led by owner Ms. Yili who has no piano education.. Don’t waste your time and money.. There are some real schools in the area like Alhambra Music School. This isn’t it
