My daughter learned at a quicker pace than she had a other music school. She loved the fun and creative environment. Thanks Jane
This music school has very talented teachers who love their craft and teach their students to do the same. I highly recommend this School to anyone who wants to improve their musical talents and have fun while doing it :)!
I’ve been coming here for weekly guitar lessons for almost two years and have enjoyed each experience. Jane is a true professional, with a mesmerizing soul and a richness of history and talent that’s inspiring and keep me coming back for more. In looking for a teacher, I was looking for someone who would champion me on my journey, nourish and believe in my own talents. Someone who would stretch me and help me explore my sound. I’ve found all of that with Jane. As a working and traveling professional, I appreciate her flexibility in providing both in-person and virtual options. Look forward to continuing to jam with you!

A great place for piano or vocal instruction! The owner is so sweet, and she and her instructors are the best! All are VERY talented and really connect with the students, whether children or adults. I can’t sing their praises enough! I’m a big fan.
Anyone who is looking for theory piano classes best place to learn piano lessons. Joel is the best teacher

This is the very famous Chinese transitional Guzheng music instrument. My daughter started to learn at 6 year old, and now is 9 years. She learns a lot which are enjoyingthe music, focus, music rhythm etc from her music teacher. The teacher is very taking the responsible to teach students.

I recently bought, first, a G&L Blues Boy, and after a few days of playing it I brought it back in to assess the neck. I was not completely happy with it, although I liked the guitar overall. After having a good conversation with Dave Tyler about various aspects he showed me a PRS Standard 24 which I much preferred because of its neck. I also really liked the sound with its unique pickup splitting arrangement. Dave quickly determined that I could simply swap out the PRS for the G&L. I left the store a very happy customer and remain so. Really loving the instrument.
The best place for guitars in the Bay Area (well worth the hour drive from the peninsula) – I’m an experienced musician and bought a guitar here earlier this year (and forgot to leave a review), everyone was knowledgeable, helpful and extremely friendly, the selection is great, they have several booths to try gear out, can’t say enough about this place.
Awesome store to work with. Making my dream come true with a Koa PRS Private Stock. Cameron has been very helpful especially.
I rented an clarinet with an agreement to use the rental credit towards the purchase of instrument . The shop did honor the agreement and rater quoted higher price to cover up the rental credit
6. School of Rock
Address: 460 Montgomery St, San Ramon, CA 94583 , San Ramon , California , United States
The instructors are very friendly and the management team are always ready to assist whenever we need any help!!! School of Rock truly Rocks!!!
School of Rock has been a game-changer for our family and our son. This program has given him a confidence we had never seen before and he absolutely loves going to his classes and his “band practice.” The teachers are all outstanding and do an amazing job at communicating with the families, in addition to making the students feel at ease regardless of their age. Rachel in the office does a superior job at coordinating schedules and is incredibly responsive with any questions. I cannot recommend School of Rock San Ramon enough.
Love this “School of Rock.” Ian is the best guitar teacher, always detail-oriented in helping my 15-yr-old nephew learn the guitar. Thank you Ian and School of Rock, San Ramon, Ca!

I’ve had work done on two acoustic guitars here in the past two months and am very pleased with the work done. The first was a setup for a Martin. It felt like a completely different instrument when I picked it up; much more comfortable to play. The second was the installation of a strap pin and Baggs pickup in an Atkin guitar. Not only was the installation perfect, Brian (the tech) even adjusted the action so it was easier to play. I highly recommend this place and will definitely return the next time I need work done on my instruments.
A nice bonus is that I can play any of the guitars in the shop while I visit.
The inventory and Customer Service is top shelf, no doubt. But their secret weapon is the Repair Shop. Brian is *amazing*. Always surprises me with a quick turn-around on my basses that I bring to him, and is always super congenial, and a total pro. I won’t take my bass guitars anywhere else. Highly recommended!
Brian and the rest of the staff at JAMS Music was awesome!! I was referred to them by Phil Demmel from Vio-lence who said to take my guitars to Brian and now they play like butter! They have great products and expertise! Highly recommended!!!
Great little store friendly staff nice selection. Even better after recent remodel and expansion. In stock selection of Mesa Boogie, Music Man ETC. Competitive pricing and nice selection of pedals.
Used to have great service and great selection
I have been bringing my guitars here for a few years , the guitar tech is knowledgeable and conscientious. I learn something new each time I’m there, I would consider him one of the best in the bay area. The Staff knows the products they carry and is friendly.
We’ve heard good things about this place so we thought of giving it a try. We went there to rent an instrument but they said the one they have is being repaired. We asked for a return call once it becomes available so we can get it. Five days later and still no call so we decided to call them. Then they said it’s no longer available as someone else already got it.
Brought a bass with a maxed out truss rod to see if they could put a spacer in it. Their repair guy called me a few days later telling me that the truss rod was fine, and that it just needed a proper setup. I go get it and in the shop it looked fine with the action a bit high but okay, but when I got home I discovered that it was tuned half tone down, so no wonder it was fine: less tension, less bow. When properly tuned it still had the problem. So, don’t trust your repairs or setups to this store.
My 11 year old son started learning guitar few months ago. We only have good experiences to share. Like the concept of Teacher coming to home and teach kids. My son’s guitar teacher Tyler is a very good teacher. He is very organized, thorough and communicates very well. My son looks forward to his guitar class on Mondays.
I am very happy to say that “Right Start Music” accommodated all of my requirements. They found the perfect teacher for my daughter and her friends. Their pricing and flexibility is commendable. They are always on top of things. I have no issues recommending them to anyone.
Our two sons absolutely love having Josh as a piano teacher! I was initially worried as our boys are very different in their personalities and levels of piano skill/knowledge. However, Josh has done an absolutely fantastic job of meeting each of their individual needs! I highly recommend Josh!

Very professional and friendly. My son’s trumpet mouthpiece got stuck, and they helped me got it out, and did not charge me. I was very surprised and happy about that. Very nice people! Highly recommended.
They gave me just the right size viola, and are so helpful. They are right near me, so it’s just a short walk. I absolutely love the store!!
BEST MUSIC STORE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m super happy I found a rental instrument/ music shop in Pleasanton. It’s a cute mom and pop store. It’s a pretty popular place for locals and parents who wanna rent instruments for their kids. It gets pretty busy.. so be prepared to wait for help from someone, esp when it’s school season. The location is convenient. There’s music lessons here as well.
I thought this place was better around this area. Now I found out that they are very greedy. I rented a flute for the whole school year. As the school ends, I returned on the same day when my billing cycle starts. Spoke to the owner who answered my phone as well. Apparently, I was auto charged around 5:30am in the morning but I returned the instrument at 3pm. Though they got the instrument back, he told me that he won’t refund for the fact that I was late for few hours and still charged for the whole month. It doesn’t sound fair to me at all. I would think twice before I go to this store again.
We have been standing in line for at least 15-20 mins. The guy behind the counter is talking and chatting about when he was in high school, showing the customer different damaged violins, and literally taking forever. I can tell that the gentlemen behind the counter are super friendly and customer oriented, but there is a long line. We have all been waiting forever!!!
Zero star. I was there with my child. I believe it’s the owner’s son that I spoke with. Pure sarcasm. Was very sarcastic towards me in-front of another customer. Staff was much more respectful and responsive in answering to our inquiries. He could just answered us properly instead he was very rude.
17. Guitar Center
Address: 2880 Dublin Blvd, Dublin, CA 94568 , San Ramon , California , United States
I’ve found this to be one of the better GCs as far as ‘the attitude’ is concerned, and I’ve been in more than my fair share over the last few decades. Maybe not quite as much inventory as some other GCs, but they have all the bases covered.
The 5-Star rating, in particular, is for Mick. If you’re after a guitar, he’s the heavyweight champ in that department. Extremely knowledgeable, helpful, friendly, pressure-free . . . and patient.
He’ll take good care of you.
Great service here. Was in and out with a reasonably priced bongo in 20 mins.
This is the place for guitars
It’s nice and chill, you can try out a bunch of guitars. The employees are welcoming.
Good store, less assortment than other stores but more friendly staff.
Good
Poor
I purchased a guitar for my son who is just starting the journey. I placed the order on Monday, July 4 with a confirmation that it will be delivered by Thu, max by Friday. When the status did not change to ship for a day, I called up and inquired, I was told it’s on track for delivery by the promised date. To my surprise next day I found it got marked as back ordered and I had to again make multiple calls to get this sorted out and it was dispatched on Thu..post which the delivery date kept getting pushed by a day every other day. This was a gift for son who had his birthday on July-10 even after ordering ahead of time, I could not get it on time.
Finally, I received the guitar yesterday and to my surprise the guitar did not appear new, the strings and frets has rust at multiple places. The top board has minor dents and other cosmetic issues. I was getting an open box at my local store at the very first place and the only reason I ordered it over the call centre is to ensure I get a brand new guitar.
I have heard great things about Guitar centre from my friends who are into music and when my son is starting bis music journey. I thought Guitar center would be my go to place over the next few years but going by this experience I am not sure if I will shop again and/or advocate for Guitar centre.
I expected a better experience, it was not worth spending this much time and energy, I should have ordered it from Amazon instead.
Didn’t have what I needed. I walked around the store for 10 minutes looking for cables. No assistance from employees. Will definitely not come here again.
18. Philz Coffee
Address: 6000 Bollinger Canyon Rd Suite 1609, San Ramon, CA 94583 , San Ramon , California , United States
All locations are good , relaxing with perfect coffee.
love Love LOVE Philz Coffee
Always return, and leave a satisfied customer
It’s good but damn it’s expensive yet good coffee. Knocking off one star because they don’t have a reward system lol
It was closed. Sunday
Nice spot to chill
Wish they would have the option of non disposable cups though #zerowaste
Vegetarian options: Plant based mylks
Dietary restrictions: Plant based mylks available
Parking: Plenty of parking
Ordered online and arrived to pick up. Had to wait more than 10 minutes. Asked for my order. It was not prepared, and I was asked (?) by the one of the batista to bring a coffee pack to grind. I left a tip when I ordered online. They should give me the tip back. Worst service I ever had.
Love Philz in general but this crew is lost. Can’t keep up with orders or deadlines, confused and make no effort to make it right. Waited 45 minutes for a cup of coffee then canceled out of frustration and left.
What a shame.
I am writing a fresh review.
I don’t know why there are so many people here?
People! Do you value the service you pay for?
There is always chaos on the counter!
Order to wait a long 10 minutes, the queue! They served coffee and spilled it, see the photo:( We ordered 2 different coffees.
Coffee tastes terrible, sour, soluble, not natural, you can’t drink
Comfortable working at the computer is difficult in the noise! ‼️
