Excellent people and customer service. Chuck was very helpful and nice. We rented a trumpet for my son and we went back happy from the store.
The best music store. The staff is very Knowledgeable and Manny and Rudy make you feel at home.
The rental process was fast and simple, and the service was fantastic! They were able to walk us through everything step by step and in a very quickly. It was great!
Love this place!! They have a great selection of everything-used and new. Great prices! You can get a lot of good stuff for very little money. They also are good about buying your stuff and giving you either cash back or store credit. I would definitely take the store credit!I recommend that everyone go at least once. Parking can get packed.
Awful experience.
I called to get my violin tuned because I was never taught and I was hoping they would help me. When I called the man on the phone laughed and told me to go figure it out.
Really not the place to be, just go to Impulse
2. Lowe’s Music
Address: 22932 1/2 Lyons Ave, Santa Clarita, CA 91321 , Santa Clarita , California , United States
A fantastic place to go for all of your music needs. Lee is so easy to work with, he is super knowledgeable, and he values all of his customers. Support small local business!!
Lee is extremely passionate about music. My talented kid was looking for piano books and piano lessons. Lee was very attentive and extremely knowledgeable about all things music. Lessons are affordable and worthwhile. This business is a staple in our community. Thank you for sharing gift of music with my child.
Best customer service I have ever experienced in a music store! Lee (the store owner) really cares about you and doesn’t try to push products. He just genuinely loves music and wants to serve by helping out:)
I’ve been going to Lee since about 2020 and he’s always been a very gracious man to me! I go to him for every minor or major (from guitars to amps) repairs I’ve ever needed and he’s always ready to get it done! Highly recommended!
Musical Instruments and supplies
So my mother works at the salon next door, and I really love this place. I have been making visits since 2005, since I started playing music. It’s a small store with only one or two people running it, so obviously if about eight customers are there at once it’ll take awhile to get to each one. While the selection isn’t absolutely huge, they’ve got all the basics and a lot more. Friendly customer service as well. I love Lowe’s Music.
Don’t bother. Dismissive to customers. Yes, I’m older … but I’ve played for years — Ignore your customers and guess what – they go away forever!
3. Stomvi USA
Address: 24658 Walnut St, Santa Clarita, CA 91321 , Santa Clarita , California , United States
Simply the best cornets and flugelhorns in the world. Period.
They’re great to work with. I took a trumpet there for a valve alignment and they even washed it out for me! Also very cool and don’t put any pressure to buy other products. Real comfortable environment.
I love it …
4. Impulse Music Co.
Address: 21515 Soledad Canyon Rd #120, Santa Clarita, CA 91350 , Santa Clarita , California , United States
every time I’ve gone, the vibe has always been positive, and welcoming, and when I go to a music store, that’s amazing! any time I’ve needed small stuff, like strings, I’ve always had a great, friendly experience from the staff. great selection of instruments, great events(especially the biweekly open mic nights), it’s just generally a great place to be! I highly recommend this place to anybody in Santa Clarita
I bought a guitar through their site. Their system canceled the order immediately and marked “out of stock.” So, I bought a different model of the same brand. The next business day, Cj noticed and let me know the original order was actually in stock and it was an error.
They already had the sale and they went one step further to make sure I got what I really wanted. I wish more companies acted like this.
Irina and Jeff Cassady have been customers since the opening and re-branding of the store. The staff have always been courteous and helpful at every turn. I was disappointed to read Alex C’s review of the anniversary event. I found the event to be bustling, happy and invigorating. To the contrary, I will never take my instruments anywhere else for my setups. Staff is always courteous, kind, helpful, efficient and qualitatively excellent. And I will always direct any student I encounter who is interested in music studies to go to Impulse. I am a loyal and happy patron.
Great shop!
Attended their store’s birthday event on August 1st. For my first time ever in the store, I was extremely underwhelmed. The selection of products was great but the customer service was awful. We walked in and not a single employee even said hello to us. We got multiple “looks” but nothing else. I went to purchase raffle tickets for this event and the kid working the counter continuously made eye contact with me and my money in my hand and ignored me. He kept waving his buddies to come cut in front of me and get their tickets in before the drawing. I even walked all the way up to the counter and leaned on it and said “excuse me” and he continued to talk to his friends at the counter. When I finally got his attention I had missed the raffle. When I asked him anything his response was just a shrug. The staff was utterly uninterested in anyone that was not a part of their clique. Extremely unwelcoming and disappointing.
Useless store, called atleast 20 times within an hour from 2-4pm and left a voicemail the first time I called at 2pm and no one ever got back to me or picked up the phone, I’ve been to the store enough times to know it isn’t that busy.
I can tell you, I’ll never shop here or refer anyone to this place.
Dude at the desk was rude and told me not to touch anything because he had to disinfect stuff. It’s a music store, I wanna hear instruments. I Will not buy from this store.
5. Guitar Center
Address: 24961 Pico Canyon Rd, Stevenson Ranch, CA 91381 , Santa Clarita , California , United States
A good store with a helpful staff. Ordered a drum set online. Staff helped bring it out to the car too.
Anthony was helpful with my layaway and informative
Perfecto
Great lil place for people who want to start playing instruments and reading music. They have a ton of beginner instruments & amps. They also have some high quality instruments for those with more experience. Staff seemed nice and I was asked if in needed any help twice in the 5 minutes I was there.
Nice small
Specializes in guitars (obviously) but also has good selection of general AV tech (lights , speakers, fog machines). However, their drum section is pitiful.
This place is the worst, never coming here again
What is the point of having a guitar store that doesn’t carry any inventory? If you want to try a piece of gear before you purchase it you will have to drive to another Guitar Center. This store is just a shipping hub. Pathetic
Wow…..talk about lack of customer service…..4 or 5 employees so busy talking about themselves amongst each other around the cash register that not one of them aknowledged my presence in the store in the smallest guitar center square footage wise in the history of the business. Guys, the customer is the only way you make your money, talk about how rad your music hobby is going on your own time….I’m here to spend my hard earned money, that’s why i drove to the store in the first place…….came in walked around picked several drum related items looking for sons first drum set……no staff concern, yeah i can walk up and ask, but thats your job…..now ive been to great guitar center stores with amazing staff…..maybe this was a rare night, but what a joke…..work on your best business practices guys, acknowledge a customer has entered the facility with a simple hello at the least and start earning a paycheck….
6. Michael Lyn Music
Address: 22777 Lyons Ave Suite 200, Santa Clarita, CA 91321 , Santa Clarita , California , United States
Micheal is PHENOMENAL! To say the least. My first guitar lesson was just filled with positivity and great energy. I’m all about energy especially when It comes to learning something new.. it’s been a whole month already and I’m already close to being able to play an entire song. Thank you so much Michael. Can’t wait to see where I’m at in the following months.
I’ve been watching Michael’s latest Culloden video and it’s terrific! He wrote the music himself and I love that he physically played and arranged each instrument heard in the video. So much of the music we hear these days is digitally created so it’s refreshing to see someone talented enough play multiple instruments at such an advanced level. It’s obvious, Mike is a creative and talented artist. I highly recommend Michael Lyn to anyone in need of a songwriter and composer.
Lyns a super experienced player and a really great teacher. He can listen to pretty much any song and teach it to you.
7. School of Rock
Address: 24515 Kansas St, Santa Clarita, CA 91321 , Santa Clarita , California , United States
My child did an individual guitar lesson to learn their new electric guitar and the instructor was knowledgeable and thorough.
Simply put, School of Rock rocks! Instructors are top notch!
The staff is talented and encouraging. They are great with the kids and skilled at their instruments that they teach. The environment is fun and encouraging and our kids are thriving with them!
8. BOHO VINYL RECORDS AND RAGS BUY – SELL – TRADE
Address: 24827 Railroad Ave Q, Newhall, CA 91321 , Santa Clarita , California , United States
Great little record store. This place has a very good collection of everything, including rare originals and box sets. The owner is super cool too. Highly recommend
Lovely little shop with so many old, old records. Found so many good vinyls from the 40-60s and the gentlemen working there was so knowledgeable. Made some recommendations on what I like and couldn’t be more pleased with them! Will be coming back again
Very glad my son and I found this shop. He is a huge Beatles fan and found a Mono CD set that he’s been wanting for a while. The owner was great and we had a great conversation with him. We’ll definitely be back!
Nice friendly guy, smaller shop but stacked with some really good records. Everything is fairly clean for the vinyl, and shelves are well-organized. One downside is you’ll end up paying a few more dollars for records than you can get them in other places ($10 record will be $15, etc). Still worth going to. Lots of old jazz records that are a bit more expensive as well, huge rock section. Have seen some rarer records here, but those are going to be a premium. Overall if you are new or an old vet of vinyl like me, come check this place out!
Jammed full of interesting pieces Small footprint, but you could still spend hours looking over a large inventory
Pretty friendly and helpful in there. The store has a lot of nice options and lot of rare and/or vintage items, but it is pretty pricey, some of the records cost more in the store than the prices printed on the vinyl
I’ve been playing guitar for a long time, and over the years I’ve taken lessons a handful of times from pro players, each of whom helped me progress a little. After 12 weeks into the Sonora GMI program, I can say that it has really solidified my foundation and my fretboard fluency has definitely improved. There’s something about the programming and built in repetition that just works as you go through it. An exercise that seems nearly impossible on the first try becomes easier with each review. It definitely requires daily practice, but that’s a good thing. It will probably take me 5 to 6 months to complete the program, but it will be worth it. At this point, I can absolutely say my playing and more importantly my musical intuition has improved a lot. It’s much easier for me to hear a song and then work out the melody than it was before I started the program. For me, it’s been well worth the investment, and I actually look forward to practicing every day.
These guys ROCK! I’ve learned so much, and have much to use in continuing as a lifelong student of music. Friendly people, research based instruction, and opportunities to expand—thanks!
Great program and what they promise, they deliver if you do your part!
I had planned on using this service near the end of 2022. I declined because I was diagnosed with Non hodgkins T cell lymphoma and started treatment. I received rude pressuring phone calls from Matt. Now I’ll never use it. Please stop calling.
I have not used this product but. I scheduled a call and had to reschedule for next week. Ashley the sales agent acknowledged she understood. She called anyway…. When I asked through text message why she did that she was rude and unprofessional. I and disappointed because I was looking forward to using your service.
If I could give a negative star, I would. My mother received a call from them because she expressed interest in your program. The thing is when they called, my aunt had been rushed to the hospital and my mom was dealing with that. She first tried to be nice and just ask them to call her tomorrow. They kept pressing, so she explained to the gentleman that her sister had just been rushed to the hospital. Instead of showing empathy, the person on the phone just kept asking if she was interested in their program. REALLY?! She was dealing with her sister being rushed to the hospital and after her informing you ask about your program. No “I’m sorry” no empathy at all, just plugging on about your program. If she was interested. She wasn’t anymore. What happened to compassion and human decency? What kind of company are you running to just forego someone telling you they can’t talk because of a family emergency and your response is “I don’t wanna waste your time or mine, are you still interested in the program?” Wow. Shame.

LAPR has a wealth of knowledge and gear. Extremely personable and professional. They would be me go-to, any time i need gear in LA!
The instruments are of the highest quality, many belonging to the late/great Emil Richards. I’m especially fond of the giant frame drum which records amazingly well and has a dark, complex yet transient sound. Where else are you going to go when you need Puccini gongs?
Great service! Great gear!

Laurent is amazing! He is incredibly knowledgeable about all things audio, and super helpful – going above-and-beyond to make sure you have the best audio quality possible. A true joy to work with!
I had no idea that making a high-quality demo could be something I could afford! Thank you for making it possible for the little guy to get a foot in the door with something impressively produced. I look forward to many more recording sessions!
Have hired and commiserated with the lovely people at Migrate, and they bring a host of skills to the table. Professional and responsive.
15. Green Room Music Studios
Address: 23655 Newhall Ave Suite E, Santa Clarita, CA 91321 , Santa Clarita , California , United States
Very professional and great location! The teachers here really are good plus everyone is so friendly and helpful!
I recommend Green Room Music Studios to anyone looking for music lessons in Santa Clarita. Every experience I’ve had with the teachers and owner has reflected the highest level of professionalism, musicianship, and kindness – the three most important qualities I look for in a music teacher.
I have been working with this studio since 2010 and I have had nothing but wonderful experiences! My voice teacher Stephanie Klimek- Davis, the owner of Green room, is absolutely one of the best vocal teachers in SCV! She has not only taught me vocal technique, but also life skills and just how to be an over all really great person. I love this studio and everyone who is part of it! You seriously will NOT regret coming here! It’s really a warm, welcoming family!! I absolutely love it here!
Bought a used bass guitar at Ash and I love my new axe. It was reasonably priced and plays beautifully. The salesman was pretty easy to talk to. FYI they have a professional roadie service they try to sell you, don’t need it but if you’re interested give them a call.
16. Abel Systems

Good music academy. dedicated teachers a and good customer service
Nice clean facility with friendly and insightful instructors
The best music school SCV.
Great in both locations. Thankfully, they are almost always free to lend a hand and help another traveling or sedentary musician!
They have some of the worst policies. If an urgent matter prevents your kid from a taking a session, they still charge you.
Businesses like these only care more about profits not their customers.
Update (3/29/19): Although the issue has been resolved, the policy disagreement remains. Business policies should be customer leaning; not just because they are good for customers, they are also good for business.
Strive for better examples than dentists and doctors, those business models generally rate low on customer service surveys.
Your team members are among the best instructors and music professionals in the area, a comparative advantage. Your policies need attention!
