The staff were prompt with my pick up order and while I was there they assisted me with a new microphone. They were knowledgeable and friendly.
No pressure, always ready to help though. Love this place.
Great staff, helped us fit a microphone to the stand and therefore didn’t need to purchase anything extra.
Went in looking for violin accessories because online it said they carry them. Not very many is all I have to say. One size bow and only one type of violin, which was sold out.
Good selection, hard to get the sales staff to help at times though.
Was a bit disappointed. I was nearly ready to buy a high end Martin but felt like a criminal walking into the acoustic room. Almost all the professional level guitars are locked up. Finally got a sales guys attention and he said he’d come back with the key. He disappeared so I grabbed another employee who let me try just one at a time and promptly disappeared. Comparing and contrasting guitars would have taken hours. Maybe it’s the sign of the times but I miss the good old days when at least guitars under say $2000 weren’t locked up. Will have to head to more boutique stores in LA for my needs. Maybe I looked like someone who couldn’t afford an expensive guitar!
Their website is nothing but lies. Don’t believe anything you read on it. Nothing is accurate, even when it says the item is in stock it won’t be. The employee even said it just lists it an “in stock” to get you to come to the store. Shady Business Practices. I will never be a customer.
Jeff Williams is a rude manager and refused to acknowledge that one of the cashier made a mistake by selling a product that can not be returned. I bought Ableton Live Into (ALI) to start learning how to record and make music. At the time of purchase I was not aware of Ableton live lite and that it was pretty much the same as ALI. Therefore, I attended to return the product the following day and was informed by another cashier that her manager said it was against their policy to accept returns on software. I asked to speak with the manager and Williams referenced a note card sized wrinkled piece paper with this policy in a very small print. Then he would not allow me to explain why I felt this was unjust and how I should have been informed that I would not be able to return the product. He just talked over me. He did apologize after talking over me but the disrespectful action had taken place. So I believe their higher management should find a way to mitigate this issue so future customers won’t be stuck with insufficient item.

Address: 1050 E Thompson Blvd, Ventura, CA 93001 , Saticoy , California , United States
Impressive selection of new and used music and movies, almost too much to choose from. Very organized, everyone wearing masks and hand sanitizer is provided before you enter the store which is great since everyone is sorting through CDs and Records. Next time I’ll have a list prepared so I’m not overwhelmed by choice.
Been going to salzer’s since the early 90s always good stuff – neat trinkets
Great, funny store full of different gift ideas. Super friendly staff.
I went in to look for a CD. They did not have it in Stock so they ordered it for me. When it came in the man called to say I could come pick it up. Good service.
Great loved it!
Rude and very disrespectful
No one here knows how to smile. I never heard the words thank you. I asked a question and the answer was condisending. I’ve lived in this area 50 + yrs. It was the first and last time i shop here.
Experienced a very encouraging and friendly environment at Ventura Music Center that I have not found anywhere else, Bravo.
Small music store with a decent selection of guitars, music books, and accessories. Music lessons are available too onsite.
Best guitar store in town. They sell high quality musical instruments for a great price. No matter who you are, or what your looking for, they have something for you. Their selection includes guitars, base’s, Ukulele’s, a whole selection of books, and cool accessories. Additionally, they offer lessons. I take guitar lessons and I love it. My teacher is super supportive and really fun. For anyone wanting lessons in any of the previous practices, I highly recommend Ventura music center.
No answer on phone,mailbox full
Drove 20 minutes, on a Thursday. 4:45pm. They were closed!! Even had an “open” sign on the door. Nice job guys. Ya lost me and you didn’t even try. Maybe next visit to Ventura?
Soul Infusion has performed two years in a row for a gala fundraising event and have not failed. They are professional, timely, generous and really know how to perform! We can’t say enough about them – you won’t go wrong!
Absolutely amazing – my wife and I are obsessed with this band.
We saw them play at a friends birthday party and just knew we had to get them for our wedding in Santa Barbara. Soooo talented – they two amazing vocalists (male and female which gives them lots of range) and a deep band (which gives them a very full sound). And the best part is they’re true performers – they know how to get the energy of the room moving.
For us they played a mix of pop, R&B, motown, and that was perfect – they can play the funk too but that wasn’t really our style. They have a Spotify playlist (Soul Infusion Main Set Playlist) that shows this range – and from there we provided a few must-have songs and some guidance on genre and they did the rest. It was a perfect night and can’t wait to see them again when they swing through Santa Barbara again – we’re fans for life!
And for those planning a wedding – they also were able to provide our sound for the ceremony itself (so we didn’t need to get a DJ or extra sound professional). That kept things really simple and it all went off without a hitch.
The Soul Infusion made my wedding! Every guest came up to us to say it was the best band they’ve seen and absolutely adored the music! Victor worked extensively with us on the types of music we wanted to hear and on our special request songs. The band did a phenomenal job keeping the energy high and the party going!

The best repair experience ever. Patrick was attentive and listened to what I wanted with my sax. He performed the repair and got it back to me sooner than I thought it would take. And it plays… more beautiful than the day I bought it. Thank you sir for your expertise and master craftmanship!
I was looking for a good quality instrument for my sons Band practice and found just what I was looking for. Love doing business locally. Definitely will go back.

JP and Castaway Studios have always made time for my “got to do it today” v/o recording sessions. The CAN DO spirt is greatly appreciated when Monarch TV’s commercial projects are on a tight deadline. It’s one LESS thing to worry about in the production process.
Always a great time working with this (JP) music guru!! He’s one of the best engineers I have ever worked with, industry quality and amazing atmosphere. My go to for sure
JP is a gem. We made a certified gold record here. Patient, knowledgeable and adds value everywhere. Can’t recommend him enough.
15. Discoteca Sorpresa

Dope store, could have spent all day in here. Small store, but a friendly owner and awesome selection. Shop local and rock on
Gave my husband his dream Christmas all from there. Service was great, even got a discount
Went in for a setup after trying to find a good place to go locally. Gannon did a phenomenal job and put in more work than required to make my guitar play like butter at a fantastic price. Gannon is very polite, helpful, and professional so I will definitely be coming back here for all my guitar and gear needs!
Cool place. Owner is mellow, no pressure, and he knows the business well. He likes to talk about musical equipment. Prices on strings and accessories are competitive. Good selection of guitars, especially for a smaller locally owned place.
Was being very inappropriate with my grandma in front of me. Was making my grandma, and me, very uncomfortable. Didn’t wanna give us a recipe and saying the guitar wasn’t playable. We took it some where else and it worked right away! Overall very creepy and weird.
I was disappointed with the selection

I never write reviews but my first experience here was amazing. I booked an appointment for a set up for my new guitar and everything went so smoothly. Rob is very knowledgeable and told me a lot about the different parts of my new guitar, how to get the best sound out of it, and how to restring with a Bigsby. He does not try to upsell you on anything, but will make some suggestions and you should definitely listen to what he has to say. I felt like I should have paid him but since my guitar was new and didn’t need much work on it he didn’t charge me anything. Hope this review is some sort of pay back for the help. Coming back here for all my maintenance and repairs from now on!
Rob is awesome. Great price and craftsmanship for servicing and setting up my guitar. Highly recommended it.
Great people, great place
Upper knowledge of instruments
Really nice store. Very clean and well organized. Some really pretty guitars. Fender, Guild, G & L, and many more acoustic. Only gave it a 4 because I went in for a set of acoustic strings and after 15 minutes no one had helped me. Poor guy was by himself and was helping a customer look for some stuff on the internet.
Emailed a guy there he never even attempted to respond not very good customer skills.
It is okay
Poor customer service. Rude! Very possessive of my own instrument. Rob was being mean and passive aggressive with me because he made a mistake on my guitar and he had to fix for free. Right after I picked it up two days later from the shop my guitar came back with buzz that wasn’t even there before. I called him and told him that I’m unhappy. MY GUITAR WAS PERFECTLY FINE BEFORE HE TOUCHED IT!
He apparently put a new saddle on it. Which doesn’t seem to be much different from the other one in size. Which he kept and did not return. I tried communicating with him what I do and how I do it. However, this man was ignoring me the entire time and spoke down to me with false knowledge. He made me feel unwelcome in his shop and he made me feel that he was very close minded in music and didn’t understand anything about transposing and power chords on an acoustic guitar. It’s very disappointing for me because I live here in Downtown Ventura. I live in the WAV building for artists. Therefore, it’s very tragic the only music store open in town is ran by an ignorant, stuck up, close minded, old receding hair line, middle aged, sad, pathetic old guy.
P.S.
I know how to restring my guitar.
I just prefer to pay someone else to do it under half an hour, not two days!
GUITAR CENTER IS WORTH THE DISTANCE!
They totally get YOU (the musician)!
18. Record X Studios
Address: 2745 Sherwin Ave Suite 2, Ventura, CA 93003 , Saticoy , California , United States
I’ve been doing music for 25 years and have never been to a real studio. Always recorded my tracks on a laptop or phone at my friends house. I finally got outside my comfort zone and booked a session with Record X Studios and couldn’t have found a better place to record. I will definitely be going back at least twice a month for a very long time. Alec AKA Mindoff will get your music sounding top notch in no time.
Production skills off the map great for up coming artist 10/10 recommended
Love the vibe of this place! The engineer really knows what he’s doing and my song came out great!!
