Wasn’t sure what to get. The machine gave me a rough description of the movies and games that looked interesting. It gave me a rough idea of what to watch but didn’t give me the deep commentary like the old movie rental stores would give. I was entertained by the machine and the movie.
3. The USAF Band of Mid-America
Address: Scott AFB, IL 62225 , Scott Air Force Base , Illinois , United States
Wish I would have went here sooner. Cheaper alternative to purchase brand new for new airmen, CAP Cadets, and ROTC.
Serves its purpose, as good as any other that I’ve been to.
Also open 0900-1200 the first Saturday of the month. Donation drop off 0830-1130 on the days they’re open.
It’s mediocre. I’ve done a lot of donating there but finally decided to shop today and it wasn’t a pleasant experience. There was zero parking so I circled around until I saw a mini van pull out. I decided to park there and walk in. The ladies at the front desk asked if I wanted diapers or cookies at the checkout. I said “no thank you”. One of the ladies then laughed and simply handed the items I wanted back to me without bagging them. I walk out to my car and see a huge “YOU CANNOT PARK HERE” taped on my windshield. It felt like they spent more time worrying about that than their customers. It was petty and tacky.
What a wonderful job Sylvia (Phillips) did during our sons service. She was so considerate to our requirements, we could not have asked for more….sounded amazing!!
6. Scott Consignment Thrift Shop
Address: **MUST HAVE BASE ACCESS TO SHOP**, 901 South Dr, Scott AFB, IL 62225 , Scott Air Force Base , Illinois , United States
Pretty good store, not the best thrift store I’ve been to, but very nice prices and good variety for all!
Too unrealistic overpriced thrift store compared to others I’ve been to. There is not a good variety of items either. Usually really old stuff that seem like you’d find in a grandmother’s house.
7. Military Clothing
Address: 207 W Winters St, Scott AFB, IL 62225 , Scott Air Force Base , Illinois , United States
The workers here were beyond helpful. Thank you so much!
The military is my fraternity. As I am retired now it’s a good feeling to still be welcomed at the military clothing store. There’s still a lot of items that are highly useful as a civilian. Of course, I could still purchase the new military uniforms, if I choose.
The staff service is absolutely fantastic. The store has a decent selection of items that you might need. The Stripes Alterations Place for your uniforms is right next door.
Manager by the name of Pam was very rude when assisting me. Seen her before and her attitude makes shopping there very unenjoyable.
