This is the coolest book store you will ever go to. My favorite spot!!! It’s truly a cozy bibliophile dream come true.
Great selecting and awesome staff! Highly recommended.
A good, old-fashioned bookstore. The service is great, and the smell…well, it smells like books! We stop in here and find something every time we’re in town.
Great variety of books for all ages and interests — a little something for everyone. Has a great vinyl record store, too.
It was a super cool place, but a kind of pricey.
Great little bookstore on the square in Seaside. I always find something good there to read! Don’t forget to check out the record store upstairs too!
Rude staff. Considering this is a small book store, you’d think “the friendly human touch” would be important to them but nope. Really disappointing.
Disappointed to see they support putting books with pornographic material in our k-12 schools. Parents and those who care about our children should avoid this place. We no longer visit it.
Very disappointed that the toxicity of partisan politics has made its way into small business, especially with what should be a neutral facilitator in the procurement of information, ideas and cultures. I made a purchase at Sundog on September 14th and will be shipping my books back for a refund.
3. Modica Market
Address: 109 Central Square Seaside, Santa Rosa Beach, FL 32459 , Seaside , Florida , United States
Great market in Seaside. Excellent food and selection.
Fantastic stop for unique food items
Excellent food and essentials!
I don’t recall going here.
Central gathering place in Seaside, FL. Small and well stocked, but pricey.
I wouldn’t consider this a gourmet market. They carry pretty common brands for the most part. The most unique thing I found was Olive and Sinclair chocolates. Looked to have a decent wine and beer selection. Good place to grab a snack or something from the deli. The cakes look tasty. Otherwise, for bulk shopping, Publix is pretty close by.
After patiently waiting to be served at the coffee bar, the barista refused to serve us because we weren’t in the undesignated “line” so we left.
Extremely over priced it was $4 for a frozen biscuit
My first and last visit here. I bought some items alone as my 19 year old son waited in car. Loved the place and remember more I wanted so I asked my son to come see the place. He had small backpack on. We never noticed the sign stating no backpacks. We both wore sunglasses. Hard to see and we are thinking of what we are going to purchase! I picked something at front and asked cashier if I could leave it with her as I had more shopping and still had plastic bag of stuff from first purchase in my hands. My son and I went to the back where I chose some beer. Security guard came to the back as we were there. We then walked straight to the front to pay. My son walked towards one of the doors to wait outside as most 19 year olds don’t need or want to stand beside mommy as we pay. I heard a loud voice shreiking telling my son to leave his backpack. Take it off and put on the floor! My thought was they think he’s trying to leave with something he did not pay for. He thought she said no backpacks and that was his cue to leave. I was telling him no they said leave your backpack. Security guy was still standing there behind my son about 10 feet and never said a word. My son still proceeded to walk out so this woman dashes out the other door to block him. I did not know what was said then after they went out. She came back in and I said, “I don’t think he understood what you were wanting him to do”. She then snapped my head off with, “oh yes he did!!”. I was so shocked I paid and when my son told me what she said to him outside I decided to return the items I bought. My son had apologized to her saying he did not know he could not take his backpack in. She said “well there is a sign on the door!” And “what’s that drink you have?” He told her it was something he already had!! So her hired security guy is not trusted by her? He had come back into the back of store when we did as I chose my beer!!!! I’ll give her credit for apologizing after I called …after I got a refund. As I said that was my first time in this store and the negative experience will always be with me and my son. Won’t go back. I have to wonder if my 19 year old son who has long hair was profiled for his long hair??? It was a knock on his self confidence. We are not thieves! Insane!!!
4. Duckies Shop of Fun
Address: 45 Central Square, Santa Rosa Beach, FL 32459 , Seaside , Florida , United States
Such a classic stop while in Seaside, I love seeing the nostalgic toys and the new ones! Always up to date on the latest toy trends! The door greeter Mr. Joe is AWESOME! He is so welcoming and very helpful on shopping suggestions!
From the moment you enter the door with Joe greeting you, you feel the fun beginning. My granddaughter loves Duckies and the clothes are to die for.
Been going here since they day one. Shopped for my son, now my grandson. Can’t wait to take my newest grand baby there!
Adorable store with unique items.
They have some toys but it’s small in there so they should probably move somewhere. The cashiers were very nice and friendly. You still have to wait in line to get in so be prepared to wait. It’s very overpriced, all of there Lego sets are very overpriced. There are some Lego sets that you can find them for like $20 cheaper on Amazon. They had a little Lego mini figure on a bike for $11!! Don’t shop there!!!
Great store. Unique items. High prices.
I cannot stress more that you will have a more pleasant experience shopping on Black Friday in massive crowds of unruly people at Walmart than dealing with the incredibly rude and condescending employees of Duckies Shop of Fun. The name itself is the epitome of irony because just walking in will rob you of any joy you were experiencing that day. Seriously, if negative stars were available, Duckies would be winning them just because of the negativity that this place exudes. Just avoid this place at all costs and enjoy yourself more shopping from the comfort of your laptop perusing Amazon’s offerings at a quarter of the price.
A dollar store with a huge mark up. Save your time and money
Online says they close at 7PM. My 12 yr old had been in store 30 minutes before 6. Came out to get money for purchase because my 17 yr old with autism does not like the store. They locked door and would not let him in at 5:55. Manager called security because of my disapproval. Upset my son when Sheriff was called over a $20 purchase and confronted me at door as he was making purchase. Absolutely ridiculous after 12 yrs of coming into store.
5. Mercantile – Seaside, FL
Address: 35 Central Square, Santa Rosa Beach, FL 32459 , Seaside , Florida , United States
Great store and kind employees. Appreciate that they carry Able merchandise because it is a great company supporting woman. Keep it up.
I might not be a local but every time I’m here I feel like I’m home. Everybody always greets me with smiling faces and is eager to help. One of the sales associates, bailey, is always attentive to all of my needs and is always sure to find the best fits for me 🙂
Alyssa 6 years working here at business establishment. Friendly smile and little cute shop, high quality materials.
This place is so cute and has many beautiful, well-made clothes. Stopped in here while out for a walk with my pup and ended up getting the cutest jumper! Docking one star because the staff weren’t all that inviting – they ignored us while browsing and even during checkout hardly said a word, gave me the impression that I was inconveniencing them by shopping.
***Updated Review***
I initially walked in with my wife and left disappointed. There were three girls working at the counter looking at social media. There were no other customers in the store and yet not one of them greeted us or offered assistance. After posting my feedback, the owner of the business reached out to me and made a good-faith effort to correct the situation. She also advised me that she addressed the issue with the associates in questions. I went back into the store the following day and the associate that was working that day (who was not one of the original girls) was very friendly and promptly greeted me when I walked in the door. What started as a terrible experience turned into a better one once the owner stepped in. I wish the first impression was as good as the second. Initial service aside, the shop does carry some great pieces.
I had an ok experience in the store, there clothes are cute but do not waste your money on the jewlery.I came in asking about a necklace which was quiet pricey and was promised it would not tarnish and could be worn in the water. After a week of having the necklace it’s completely tarnished and non wearable. Exteremely disappointed.
Great store but the workers were so rude and unfriendly. This made me sad because it has not been like this in the past. I will not be returning. I had to leave because l felt so uncomfortable.
I have never been to a store that was so embarrassingly rude. The workers in there are so judgmental and snooty. Highly don’t recommend. They seriously need an attitude check. Worst shopping experience I’ve ever had.such an uncomfortable experience
6. ONO Surf Shop
Address: 2236 E County Hwy 30A, Santa Rosa Beach, FL 32459 , Seaside , Florida , United States
It’s a very small and jam packed building and they have shirts, some shoes, swim trucks, hats, etc. The man and girl and the register where talking and hanging out and doing other things. It’s really to small. I wish they would move into a bigger building. If they did, they would have much more business.
Holy cow. The brunette woman behind the register!!?! SO SO RUDE! My two teenage girls were giggling, carefree vacation mode, looking at the jewelry in the front of the store. She says, “I really don’t appreciate all the laughing in my face”. Clearly needs to find another profession. Total nutcase.
The brunette lady was being extremely rude to my 10 year old autistic brother. NEVER shopping here again
This was one of the worst shopping experiences of my life. The brunette girl at the register was very rude. We had over $500 worth of merchandise we literally dropped on the ground and left after we were accused of being mean. The clerk threatened to kick us out after we asked for a dressing room. I DO NOT recommend this place.

Gear place to chill and enjoy a good drink
great events here. Saturday farmers market. good trucks all around all year. modica market just off to the side. CRONUT! truck nearby.
Fun filled attraction area
Broken glass every where.
So took my kids to the Easter hunt event today. I gave 3 stars as parking of course is hard to find a spot so arriving an hour early might do you good. Kids were able to get eggs. I thought the age group from 1-4 was crowding and overwhelming. I think we need to only have children in the ring. But if that wont help then maybe parents need to go in further so kids behind them get a chance to grab eggs. As suppose the ppl in front line grabs everything and kids behind them get hardly any to nothing.
Need more events
Not sure where anyone would park to go this amphitheater.
Seaside isn’t what it used to be.
Overzealous community charges to park, to walk on beach. Probably a fine to sit down.
Feel sorry for the businesses in Seaside, Florida.
8. Coastside 30A
Address: 5221 E County Hwy 30A, Santa Rosa Beach, FL 32459 , Seaside , Florida , United States
Great place for a unique beer and/or glass of wine. Nice patio, outdoor seating with games, water view right on one of the dune lakes and a fire pit in the cooler weather. Friendly owners and staff. One of our favorite places on 30A!
Had the breakfast burritos, acai bowl, and coffee. Everything was delicious!…highly recommend!
What a great place with such friendly staff and a great chai. ❤️❤️❤️
Good tasting shop
Ice cream was good but a very limited selection. It’s a small place so plan on sitting outside. There are better places with larger selections.
Seems like a cool place to grab a drink with lots of outdoor seating. However, the people working behind the bar (which is inside) were not wearing masks so we went somewhere else. I am posting this review because I wish we had known they didn’t wear masks before we drove over there.
9. The Coffee Shop
Address: 2078 US-98 #108, Santa Rosa Beach, FL 32459 , Seaside , Florida , United States
Cozy and comfortable. Costumer service was amazing!!!
Fun open mic on Tuesday nights, great coffee and ukulele friendly. What’s not to like?
This is a great hideout and I can’t believe I found it with a random search on Google Maps. Do yourself a favor and skip the traffic west of the resort and go east to the Publix shopping center… great coffee, great atmosphere and a great spot to spend time relaxing.
Stopped by for some afternoon coffee. Atmosphere is fantastic. There’s plenty of neat trinkets and other gifts to buy here. I bought a crocheted octopus, named him Otto, and he rode on my dashboard for the rest of our Florida vacation and all the way back home to Kentucky.
Great coffee!
Office away from the office when traveling. Nice quite lap top compatible location. Nitro ice coffee if you haven’t tried it stop on by and indulge. #Luckygoat
Coffee suxs and is way over priced
I’ve come by 3 times to grab coffee and work after dropping my son off at school. All three times were during hours they are listed as open. All three times the shop has been closed with no updates hours. I’ve called to see if they are open and it goes straight to voicemail. I’ve also checked all their listed social media pages and website to see if the hours have changed.
I’d like to see an updated open hours listing. And I’d be open to updating my review if they were able to have accurate listed hours.
Barista was on the phone and didn’t take my order correctly , was the only customer
10. Black Bear Bread Co.
Address: 26 Logan Ln Unit G, Santa Rosa Beach, FL 32459 , Seaside , Florida , United States
Black bear is not only such a comfortable little breakfast and lunch spot, they are always so consistent with service and quality of the menu. I can’t get enough of the avacado toasts, kale sandwich and amazing pastries
Breakfast two days in a row. Usually I find something that isn’t quite perfect on the second visit, but not in this case. Food is delicious, setting is quaint, clean, and comfortable.
This has to be the best breakfast place ever! The breakfast sandwiches are the best! I would totally come here again. You feel so welcomed when you come in. Congrats on having a great place, by the way !
The food is good, but a bit pricey (2 sandwiches & 1 cinnamon roll = $52)..
Additionally they added a 15% gratuity to your bill and at the kiosk for payment it promts you again for a tip.
Friendly Staff
Tasty breakfast
Coffee options are limited to basics. No caramel options?? A bit pricey compared to nearby competitors
I only have it 4 stars because it’s small and not a lot of places to sit. But the food and coffee are great
My family has always loved coming here for breakfast, lunch or just coffee. However, recently a couple things have made us reconsider. First, they now automatically add 15% gratuity for all orders, even through they are not full service. In addition to the automatic gratuity, they still have you choose your level of gratuity in the signature screen for credit card payments. So, if you don’t see the small sign on the register, saying that they add 15%, you may tip additional without knowing it. On our most recent visit., we spent $42 for 2 large almond milk lattes. a bagel and a frittata. The almond milk lattes were over $8 each. and were luke warm and 2” from being full. When we questioned them about the order they were rude about it. Very disappointing!
$10+ for avocado toast??? You all are straight up crazy!!
BUYER BEWARE: PRICES LISTED LOWER ON WEBSITE THAN ACTUALLY CHARGED AND AUTOMATIC TIP APPLIED TO TAX CHARGE AS WELL ITEMS PURCHASED
Black Bear Bread Company listed prices on their website that were substantially lower than what they actually charge. For a Bear Claw they list $3.50 on the website and charge $5.00, $3 on the website for a mocca coffee for which they charge $4. Plus there are other items listed substantially lower on the website. In addition, they automatically charge a 20% tip not just for items purchased but they Apply the tip for the items purchased and then they incorrectly apply the tip to the tax charge; that amounts to more than a 20% tip. I take offense that they automatically apply a tip without asking if you want to tip. A tip on items purchased and the tax!
11. Beach Happy Cafe
Address: 4 Watercolor Blvd S Unit101-C, Santa Rosa Beach, FL 32459 , Seaside , Florida , United States
Casual little place with inside and outside seating, Had the breakfast wrap, which was really good along with coffee. Friendly service too.
Love the food and the Buffalo chicken wrap is to die for
Clean and bright with a wide selection of 30A shirts, etc.
Very good, very expensive!
Basic breakfast. Just wraps. Coffee and juices. They had donuts and some bakery options. Nothing fancy but it was good!
Ordered banana bread toasted and it was cold in the center. Ordered grilled pimento cheese sandwich and it was a mess. Overpriced and not very tasty
Not open until 7pm, they mop at 530
Went in to grab a coffee. People were eating behind the counter while customers are in the store and in line. Absolutely disgusting! Would NOT recommend this place.
12. Cabana by The Seaside Style ️
Address: 45 Central Square Suite CC2, Santa Rosa Beach, FL 32459 , Seaside , Florida , United States
Awesome shopping experience! Very helpful knowledgeable ladies. Professional and courteous ! I’m from Charleston SC … so I’m speaking as a huge boutique shopper Cabana Seaside is amazing. Best in Florida and I’ll be back!! I also shop online !
great selection of clothing and accessories, will be back!!
We went on our summer vacation and found this amazing store!! We had the best time and the best sales team! Ivey and Ellen and all the girls are so sweet and helpful and helped us find exactly what we were looking for, and more!! We will definitely be back and can’t wait for Ivey & Ellen to help us again!!
-Logan and Sheron
Beautiful clothing.
The girls working here have weird energy. I walked in and they just stared at me, looked me up and down, then went back to folding clothes and talking to each other. Not sure why they are working in retail in a vacation destination where people go to spend money and have a good time. Would love to give this store another chance if they reevaluated who they have working there. There are a ton of locals here with great work ethic who are more than happy to treat people with basic respect. Judging by the other bad review it seems like the employees take pleasure and have made a habit out of making customers feel out of place. I wanted to get out of there immediately.
The actual WORST costumer service ever!! Was told I could return a dress, paid $25 to send it back just to be told the wouldn’t accept my return because they didn’t have the correct size in stock. and SO rude.
Edited to reply: the tags were in fact INTACT on the dress. So that is incorrect. I emailed you a copy of the reciept… and the lipstick stain on the inside of the dress was present upon purchase. As we didn’t even out that dress on once! We tried the other size on and accidentaly grabbed that smaller dress when purchasing.
I liked this store at first glance, but as I continued to browse I was followed the entire time as if they thought I would steal something. This store employs multiple people who are clearly tasked with following customers (or just to stand around doing nothing). As soon as I realized the girl trailing me to the dressing room was indeed not trying to assist in a purchase, but rather following me and my family, I wanted no part in supporting this business. Makes sense that almost all these reviews echo the same sentiment.
13. Redbox
Address: 110 Watercolor Way, Santa Rosa Beach, FL 32459 , Seaside , Florida , United States
Great job repairing my well used guitar. The work was done promptly at a fair price. I think I found the music store I’ve been looking for.
Friendly service and great prices! Fine Arts at the Beach is hands down the best music store on the beach, and will be returning for all my musical inquires!
Just wanted to say what a blessing this music studio is to the community. We came over here from Freeport for an instrument rental and everyone has been so friendly and helpful throughout the whole process. Thank you, Fine Arts at the Beach, for making music so accessible for our kids!
The lessons are expensive $30 for 30 minutes I don’t recommend it but I mean it’s good
Good selection of instruments and knowledgeable staff. It is a nice touch that they are involved in the local community as well.
Nice little place, but somewhat disorganized. Nice folks, lacking on the communication side. Lessons are good!
Went in to purchase strings, was charged double the price for them. Next time I will get them online, put a end to that kind of crazy happening again.
I used to go before the ownership change to have my violin serviced. I went to the counter and talked to Seth and I left wanting to cry. When I opened my case he picked up my violin then out of the blue asked if I wanted him to take off the finger tape. He said he didn’t like his students using it since it was a crutch. I said no thanks I like having it and he said “oh… ok” in a very judging and condescending tone. He then asked how much I paid for it (super disrespectful and unnecessary?) and when I told him he scoffed and said he wouldn’t have paid half of that. He then proceeded to turn over my violin and point out every imperfection (something about the bridge being too high, fingerboard not angled properly, and spots of varnish). He said it looked “haphazard” and was shocked I paid that. This was a violin I’ve had for years, absolutely love, and that my parents worked hard to afford. I was too shell shocked to take the violin back from him and leave, and after all the insults Seth said “it seems fine you don’t need service” then asked if I wanted lessons from him. The audacity?? At least he didn’t try to sell me stuff I suppose. I know this is a small business and I hate to not show support but like I said before I left in tears and with a horrible experience. I can’t recommend this store and especially not Seth for your classical instrument needs. I don’t understand how anyone can stand him for a lesson, I’ve never met a more condescending person in the customer service industry.
