Ms. Lorelei genuinely cares about helping young people develop their passion for music. Amazing prices and selection.
The owner is super kind. She took the time to thoroughly go through everything with my daughter. The building has a great history. Prices are very reasonable. Highly recommend!!
Amazing work!!

Address: 8141 Snow Bowl Heights, Fountain, CO 80817 , Security-Widefield , Colorado , United States
I absolutely love this place! The people working here are absolutely lovely and they don’t jump on you the moment you walk in like a used car salesman. I have had nothing but positive interactions with everyone who works there and they have all gone out of their way to assist me. Highly recommend!
Outstanding little music shop does repairs on site
Great place for school instrument help. Super friendly and very knowledgeable.
People were helpful, wait wasn’t long. They helped us quickly and efficiently
Courteous helpful staff, good selection
Good store .. guy had exactly what I needed
Save yourself. Don’t go when busy. Their service model is first in first out on a waitlist…I waited 55 minutes to buy a $7 item. No one working the register, just all clerks working rentals…no help for those just wanting to buy a quick item. Good luck.
Purchased a Yamaha flute with a rebate. Rebate never came.
Good selection of sheet music and books, but the drumheads were really overpriced and the drumstick selection wasn’t the best.
4. ProSound Music
Address: 2235 Academy Pl, Colorado Springs, CO 80909 , Security-Widefield , Colorado , United States
Over the course of the last few weeks I have spent 7 or so hours in pro sound, between multiple trips. I mainly deal with Luke and he is absolutely amazing, he will go out of his way to help, give demos, and teach you. I had ordered 2 items I needed for a show 10 days away.
Sadly Luke has not been there this week for me to work with and see the status of my order.
In the mean time I have been dealing with a guy by the name of Mark, and I have to say mark is the most useless person I have ever seen with a job. Every time I go into the store he is sitting around, not helping customers. I asked him to check the status of my orders, and he didn’t even look it up in the system, just walked around for 5 minutes and said it will be a few weeks. I was very clear when I ordered I needed my stuff no later then this week, he still didn’t look up the order and was just rude, like sucks to be you. I proceeded to call pro sound back a few hours later which mark answered the phone, I asked if luke was there, and he proceeded to hang up on me. I am only deducting 1 star atm in hopes that I can deal with someone of more intelligence then Mark and still receive my stuff for the show I am doing on time. However this review may drop stars pending on how the service is today
(Mind you i have spent over 400$ there in the last week) and this is the service I’m getting
Richard is quite helpful, sells a lot of equipment to me.
Can find what you need.
If you want to give away your money then go here. They can’t figure out our rental agreement to save there life. Bu the time they figured out how much longer we had on our rental we had the onstrument paid off and they kept charging us even after that. What a hastle.
This place looks like a garage sale threw up on it. Even the parking lot is literal garbage. Inside is confused and akward. Looked like a swap meet.
Guitar tech sucks
5. Guitar Center
Address: 535 N Academy Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO 80909 , Security-Widefield , Colorado , United States
Great service and information regarding any instruments beginner-advanced. Class prices are steep if you’re looking to start learning, but prices on everything else are great compared to other stores. Employees for the most part are very helpful, especially the guitar technician!
Love this place!! Cat, the manager, rocks! She helped w my sons (who looks like Slash) guitar & gave me valuable information!! They take the time & welcome you. Great place to go!! We’ll be back, for sure!!
Many thanks to Trevor who greeted me as soon as I walked in, showed me the instrument I had sought, steered me to a better choice given my particular needs, showed me some better options and spent time showing me how to use them, rang me out and helped take my purchases to the car.
That’s customer service at its finest.
Employees here are always very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful.
I actually give it three stars for the merchandise carried and a five stars for the nice salespeople. Amazingly, the Guitar Center we have here in El Paso Texas is better stocked than the one in Colorado Springs. Go figure?
This is a very disorganized place. Never enough people to help. Customers stand in line for long periods of time. I would rather go elsewhere. My opinion.
Came In today to sell a guitar and amp. The manager couldn’t find the price of my guitar in their system so she made up a price of 700 without looking up the guitar or sending pictures to the pricing team. There is a listing for the same guitar except in the less expensive non Floyd rose version, in the same condition for 999 on guitar centers used section. After Jake the only good employee there showed her the listing she said the other guitar was priced way too high and she could go up to $849 and offer me 500. Is this a national retailer or just a place to play pawn shop games?
Small selection
Shockingly sparse pro audio section. Almost all harbenger. Empty harbenger boxes to take up shelf space, and a ton of random stuff in the pro audio section. Additionally they want over $500 for a used eon 610, when new ones are about $300. Unclear.

Always great to work with innovative and talented visionaries who are committed to excellence and unafraid of hard work. SALUTE to SeeMore Editz and the team at Elevated Sound–downright good people!
Always professional and extremely talented engineers. I appreciate the work SeeMore has done.
Knowledgable and helpful
7. Music & Arts
Address: 2872 N Powers Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO 80922 , Security-Widefield , Colorado , United States
The employees were amazing and so helpful! I could take my time and there was no rush. The prices were competitive and I got a really good deal on my bass and the accessories. Very good store and super nice employees Will and Erin!
Love this store! The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable. The manager, Tristan helped me find a new bass amp and even restrung my bass for free! He also gave me some helpful info on music lessons. I will be visiting here regularly!
The employees were very friendly and I found what I needed quickly.
Large selection very helpful staff and you can even get free guitar lessons different days of the week
Very nice service l and I got an epic instrument
Great time getting my daughter to handle different guitars. Very knowledgeable.
Very unwelcoming environment. The manager Erin, clearly didn’t want to be there, and she wasn’t musically knowledgeable in the slightest. I went in looking too drop $700+ on a new acoustic setup for studio sessions only. Erin’s lack of knowledge and unfriendly vibe (especially as manager) made her lose a high sale. I don’t like window shopping, so I still purchased a $120 midi so the store could make a sale. Although even during the sale Erin was so off-putting through a customer service prospective!
I won’t be back there anytime soon!
Poor customer service and lack of musical knowledge, I’ll say it again and again.
Go somewhere else.
Unknowledgeable in pricing. Was told deposit was required with 2 or more instruments, ok that’s fine. Have been in contact with the 888 number to make payments and what not. Call to make a payment today, one is in collections. They are under 2 separate accounts, so I have only been paying on one instrument. Ask the 800 number why I had a deposit for 2 or more instruments if they are separate accounts anyway. I was informed that deposit is just based on customer. According to reviews this location loves to lie. Very displeased with my experience with music and arts. I will most definitely be checking my other options out next year. This has been a nightmare.
They have people do a survey in exchange for a 25% coupon and never give it to you. I have passed on competitors sales on the item I have in mind waiting for this promised coupon. I call and they tell me it’s coming but won’t give the discount. It’s been two months and no one knows anything. They asked me for a valuable, to them, commodity (my info, preferences, buying habits, etc) in exchange for a 25% off a single item (better than any competition). Now they are MIA and no one there can help you. I will never consider buying from them and you shouldn’t either.
8. Widefield Square Vintage and Thrift
Address: 141 Fontaine Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO 80911 , Security-Widefield , Colorado , United States
This place has so much cool stuff! We stopped in while exploring all the thrift/antique stores in the area, and this place has some truly unique items. We spoke with a wonderful woman and who said the shop was her family business. She was friendly and helpful! Pretty much everything we got was on some sort of discount. They also have a really impressive collection of vintage film cameras and lenses for sale. Definitely a must-visit for anyone into film or cinematography!
They have amazing stuff that is constantly changing. Their prices are great!
Very good, however some things were weirdly priced. I found perfect condition, practically brand new roller skates for $7.00 but a very strange shelf with like 8 years worth of crustiness on it for $20. Overall, I recommend this store if it’s close and you like thrifting, but it’s not really a place to seek out.
closed for “poor weather” for an inch of snow? we live in colorado for crying out loud. guess i’ll drive back home….
This in my experience isn’t a good “thrift” store they sell books for $10-$25 a piece. Goodwill/Arc sells books for $2 a piece very very expensive wanting $10-$25 for a used board game. Not very reasonable will not be returning. Prices way to high for second hand things, you can honestly get a brand new book at Barnes and Noble for those prices. Highly disappointed…
It is Tuesday, October 7th 2020. I’ve stopped by several times throughout the past couple weeks after 10am and they are not open.
9. Walmart Supercenter
Address: 6310 S U.S. Hwy 85 87, Fountain, CO 80817 , Security-Widefield , Colorado , United States
This place is huge on the inside bunch of inventory!
Amazing
Hey, it’s a walmart.
It is a fun place to be
Capitalism at it’s finest
Not a bad place
To many mongoloids.
Staff are extremely rude here. I’m usually pretty chill about things because these are minimum wage workers, but it’s excessive here, like being completely ignored when asking for help.
Same
10. Michael Miller Studios-Guitar
Address: 1128 Farragut Ave, Colorado Springs, CO 80909 , Security-Widefield , Colorado , United States
Rick is amazing. All he wants is for more people to play piano. His business is 100% service oriented. He helped us pick out the right piano for our needs and our budget, and we will definitely be taking advantage of the trade-up program. Add in free delivery and why would you shop anywhere else?
12. Music Go Round Colorado Springs
Address: 410 W Fillmore St, Colorado Springs, CO 80907 , Security-Widefield , Colorado , United States
These guys do good stuff. Never know what they have so go in.
lots of gear and good service
Decent gear, and prices, friendly staff.
Average shop customer service should be improved
Took advantage of my wife’s lack of knowledge and sold her an over priced lemon of amp.
October 2019 Sold me UNDISCLOSED DAMAGED equipment online through the Internet. They packed it extremely well. Shipping box was not damaged in anyway So it was damaged when they packaged it October 2019. They did offer refund but they’re not willing to pay the shipping for their product that was damaged (MY LOSS) Always verify the physical & working condition with your own eyes “never take a salesmans word for it“… I’m the Fool… other than that “LOVE MUSIC GO ROUNDS”!!
Rude service.
13. Square Music Company
Address: 2332 Vickers Dr, Colorado Springs, CO 80918 , Security-Widefield , Colorado , United States
Brought my classic guitar in last week for new strings. The owner took to the time to do it right. You can tell that they know their business and care about their customers.
I came in with a guitar that had been sitting unused for 10+ years. The guys in the shop were able to look it over, restring, and share where to start since I’m dipping my toes in and teaching myself. The customer service was fantastic. I will be back & won’t hesitate to tell others where to go for a personal experience. Thank you!!
Really cool spot, go check them out if you like music or skateboarding, really cool people too
Dead business. No one answered the door, or phone during normal business hours. Would have liked to drop some $$$ on a local business, but I guess I’ll go to another major retailer.
14. Slide Studios Inc.
Address: 225 S Academy Blvd #201, Colorado Springs, CO 80910 , Security-Widefield , Colorado , United States
The staff were very helpful and informative on drums and made the purchase quick and easy! Great customer service and great selection of instruments!
I love this place, everyone is friendly, everything is well-priced, and the drumhead and stick selection are top notch as long as you’re not looking for Remo heads (I’m an Evans guy, so not a problem). I would far rather go here than Meeker.
I absolutely love Graner Music. Charlotte Baker, the owner, is incredibly professional, knowledgeable and personable. If I have ever had a less than stellar experience, they were more than stellar in making it right immediately. Their prices are very reasonable, especially for the rental of their exceptional recital hall. I am consistently amazed!
Great place for kids to get musical lessons, voice lessons and books and instruments. They also do repairs here
Very helpful. Explained all contracts well, good with kids, instructors onsite. Staff helpful.
Great service, very helpful!
BUYER BEWARE when renting/purchasing instruments through the schools. Predatory business practices during Covid pandemic.. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
Pretty disappointed in all honesty. I was recommended this place by other music stores around town that couldn’t provide what I needed.
The selection of the instruments and accessories seemed to be impressive!
What was most disappointing was the customer service. There was a very nice woman upfront, sadly losing her voice, but was sweet the whole time!
Mike, was not.
To avoid a novel, wording is key! There’s no need to constantly criticize someone’s instrument, constantly tell them to return it because it won’t work, and then try to just sell their inventory.
He seemed knowledgeable when he spoke of the instrument, but to only push for a sale, sad.
After leaving something there and returning to get it, the additional comment of “did you take it back?” Was not needed.
A fellow musician should encourage, not discourage and try to push a sale. As a salesman, if your customer wants a peg, just sell them a peg.
I know I won’t be going here again, I came to get new strings for my violin. Usually I order online but it was a present from my boyfriend so I came into the store. My violin isn’t a fantastic violin but its still my violin. The guy kept trying to push a new violin on me by telling me mine wasn’t worth even putting new strings on. I know its not fantastic but that is just really rude, I came in for one thing don’t try to push something else on me. Usually buying a new instrument is a huge deal and if someone wants a new instrument they will tell you that right away. Most people don’t have the money to drop on a 1,000 dollar violin without thinking about it. I finally got new strings on my violin but I was very unstatisfied without I was treated.
16. Moondog Music Shop
Address: 1716 W Uintah St, Colorado Springs, CO 80904 , Security-Widefield , Colorado , United States
It’s such a relief there are still wonderful shops like this we can go to. The owner is extremely pleasant and professional. He’s a seasoned expert and clearly has a passion for his business. As long as there are pure shops like this one still around, I can be spared the cookie cutter, over commercial let down of walking into a “Big Box Store”. Thank you Moondog!
Great selection and awesome store. Also, the owner is super knowledgeable and a superb music teacher as well as an all around great guy. I highly recommend this place to everyone.
My favorite music shop in town, Mike knows his guitars
Everyone says this place is always closed when they say that they will be open. Well unfortunately that is the reality I too have experienced. Multiple times I’ve tried to visit during posted operating hours but I can never seem to catch the store open. I’ll keep trying though maybe they need some extra help like a part time employee. We need local musical instrument stores or all there’s gonna be is guitar center.
Web site is shady can’t seem to catch opend …..
Not that great, I went in there with high expectations and came out disappointed. First, I got blatantly ignored, the person who worked there was talking to another person and didn’t acknowledge my existence, He didn’t say anything like ”I’ll be with you in one moment” NOTHING! I stood there awkwardly for about 10 minutes, finally the guy stopped catching up with the other customer and got to me quite UN- enthusiastically.
Stopped by to get a guitar and they are closed. Wish I would have know this, I wouldn’t have drove across town to come here.
17. Erickson dj
Address: 3119 S Academy Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO 80916 , Security-Widefield , Colorado , United States
They did a great job doing some body work on my acoustic guitar! And for a good price
I made a custom guitar for my dad, but I’m more of a woodworker than a musician. Took it to Curtis for a final setup and fret dressing. He did a phenomenal job getting it playing as good as it looks. Great work.
Waste of time… The website said they are open so I thought “support local” the place was closed despite the posted hours on the door. Really the place looked kind of sketchy outside but I guess I’ll never know what the inside is like… I ended up going to Guitar Center which was both open and super friendly.
19. Redbox
Address: 510 Security Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO 80911 , Security-Widefield , Colorado , United States
SOO GOOD!! It’s a small venue, but it’s a great venue.
Was an awesome small venue. Had amazing access to the artists, including the headliners. Wasn’t too crowded and although alcohol is served, the guests didn’t appear to become overserved. Enjoyed the night out in COS opposed to driving to Denver
Outdoor shows are awesome here. Staff is always cool but as a DD (I don’t drink) I feel that 6 dollars for a bottle of water (generic) is a little crazy.
Love the show, but no place but the over crowded bar to get water.
10min Werbung, 20 min Musik! Dauerwerbesendung unterbrochen von Musik…………………
The Male review I attended had no seating for the entire event. SUNSHINE STUDIOES TRIED TO CHARGE YOU $150 FOR A TABLE FOR 2. THE TABLE WAS THE SIZE OF. FRISBEE. THE DRINKS WERE $16 A PIECE! WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN!
It’s a glorified black sheep, can we get a decent venue in this town please.
