Always have what we need and Bernie is perfection with his knowledge!
i have bought 2 guitars an acoustic and electric from berny and the man gave me so much information in each purchase i ask for him to play a riff and guid me to succeed 3 years of guitar theory and 4 years of pure acceleration i now obtained the ability to pass on musical talent to those with patients love his style
They had great service and fixed my violin very quickly!
A very friendly place!
Nice selection of music items. Was out of stock on what I was looking for my daughters clarinet.
Nice place for a small music store. Had a good time talking about touring and music gear.
Classical guitar strings are not sold here.
Sheet music: nearly all piano method books.
Its nice when I call in that I already don’t want to come in the man I talked sounded very low energy and just not really caring about what I needed or what I was even saying IDC if your so busy which you weren’t that you don’t want to take calls but I’m not coming in to have you or anybody else be rude and not really care about what I’m their for, so eventually I just say it’s ok I can probably find something then leave feeling disappointed. Seemed like a good reviewed guitar store but not when you barely want to say anything but uhhhhh we might have it butttt. Not the bad review type of person but I was irritated that it seems every guitar store was being not happy at all and rude. I have to drive far to get to Redding just to be directed to a hardware store which isn’t a bad idea just the lack of helpfulness and compassion for what your doing
Customer service is essential to me. I expect friendly staff that listen to me and try to help me. This is not that store. With unimpressive prices and staff, they convinced me not to go back.
2. Brass Reed
Address: 2650 S Market St, Redding, CA 96001 , Shasta , California , United States
This a great place. I’ve been dealing with Tom Dodson for 25+ years as a school music teacher. I’m now retired and I like this place that I still enjoy coming here. I now teach music lessons here because Tom is knowledgeable, has very good prices, and services all of his customers.
Great little shop. I needed my guitar fully restrung as I’ve just started lessons, and they were able to get it done at a really reasonable rate and back to me the same day! I’ll definitely use them again. Thanks Tom and Al 🙂
Tasty lobster and clams
They closed 5minutes early so I wasn’t able to get inside.
A small music shop with a very knowledgeable owner. Pricing is fair. If it were in a better location, 5 stars.
I was totally ignored. People were in the building and I heard someone working behind the counter but I couldn’t see them. I rang the bell several times and even called out but I was completely ignored. I had money in my pocket ready to buy and left with nothing.
Very rude and does not support the military. My friend served in the Navy for 22 years and all he did was ask do you offer military discounts and the guy was super rude. Said everybody gets a discount. Doesn’t matter if you’re in the military. And it was the way he said it was so disrespectful. A Simple no would have been great. Most places offer one so he asked. Then treated him like dirt after that.
3. Cascade Curations – Music, Art and Clothing store
Address: 1740 California St, Redding, CA 96001 , Shasta , California , United States
This is an excellent shop! Lots of good stuff here whether you’re looking for art, music, instruments or clothes. Jen and Mikey are the kindest and most helpful people around. Great addition to downtown Redding!
Incredible new spot by Fratelli’s! It has great service, and looking around you can feel the care and excitement that’s gone into the shop! I love it, and I’ll definitely be back soon.
Excellent business and both of the owners are friendly and helpful. They have really breathed life into this spot. Selection of merchandise is incredible from art to instruments and so much more!! We will definitely be repeat customers!!
4. Temple Music
Address: 2972 Churn Crk Rd, Redding, CA 96002 , Shasta , California , United States
Friendly Owner
Great products – even locally made jewelry. We’re regular customers from now on!
Friendly and cool place. Vinyl woot Woot! Great place to buy vintage game system too! Large selection.
Sheet music: Little to none
Quaint really fun record, movie, game shop. Everything from vinyls to cds, vhs to blue ray, and games and games systems all the way back to NES and earlier. They are even willing to buy sell and trade with you. The gentleman I spoke with was very helpful and friendly
Cool shop with a good selection of music. Retro games are pricey but that’s what to expect from a reseller these days. The games from the mid 90s back were limited. Good selection of 00’s forward.
Used to be a cool guy, lately bad pricing for items you are trying to sell. Offering less than GameStop prices, bad business. Would not recommend selling anything to this guy, sell your items on Facebook marketplace for double what he would have offered.
No punk or metal whatso ever just greenday blink and some other mainstream stuff
5. Redding Records & Music
Address: 610 N Market St, Redding, CA 96003 , Shasta , California , United States
Good selection of new and used vinyl, prices are on par with other vinyl shops in Sacramento, friendly staff and knowledgeable.
Was here about a month ago, great experience, and great records. Here again today, however said he opens at 12.. But here I am 30 minutes later and still a no show. I came from over an hour away so a bit bummed.. 🙁 but still recommend this place!
A wonderful place for music lovers.
Always find what I’m looking for and they have get prices.
Terrible, terrible, terrible … My husband and I drove to Redding from a different town to sell them OLD vinyl records that had been sitting in an attic for years we even called them to ask if they would be interested and they seemed like they were interested but when we got there they didn’t even look at them and turned us away
Their selection is usually intriguing, but don’t bother asking to be on a “waitlist”, as rather than contact those who have requested records, it’s a first come first serve type of place. The guys in the store even stated, “you DID ask first but someone just called”….Would have been good to know in advance. You’re better off online. Then you get what you want, rather than not quite what you were after.

Wonderful high-quality instruction. Great prices, always on time and super helpful.
Wow awesome people! Lessons are easy to understand, not overwhelming. I almost didnt check it out, I lost faith in getting better. For the first time I’m getting better without agony and suffering. Nice change! Highly recommended.
My autistic son does weekly piano lessons with Jocelyn and this place is amazing! Love all of the staff and the location is great.
8. Michael’s Pianos
Address: 13678 Hill Blvd, Shasta Lake, CA 96089 , Shasta , California , United States
Mike is a nice guy he knows a lot about pianos he can get your piano fixed it just takes a little time
Unfortunately did not have a good experience trying to book. Used the online booking service, was called and told my time slot was not available, so rescheduled it for 10am. Received an email at 10:08am saying he wasn’t going to make it and could I do the afternoon. Ok, frustrating but sure. He said he would come at “2 ish.” Got another email at 3:14pm saying he was sorry but couldn’t make it and would be out of town for a while. Emailed him again a week later to ask when he is available, no response. I would have appreciated a call when he was running late, or preferably for him to straight up say at the beginning that he was booked & would need to do a different day, so I wasn’t sitting at home all day.
Everything has been moved except the signs that tell you where things are. It was confusing for everyone including staff
I just found Clear Cut – California and bought it. It’s very good music. So I thought I would check out your website. Oh Carolina is a really good song.
I love Marks music and Clearcut. I watched them many years ago when they performed at the Post Office Saloon.
We booked Mark for our wedding in May 2023. He did our live music during the ceremony & cocktail hour & then emcee/DJ during the reception. I appreciated that his station was small/compact & didn’t take up a ton of space. He was flexible & able to work with us regarding the weather. He was able to keep people laughing during our wedding & played all the songs we requested. I would definitely recommend for any wedding!
Best record store around. They carry the classics and even the new stuff. They also have a bargain bin and even a free bin. I think it’s fun to grab a cup of coffee with a friend and swing in and spend an hour just flipping through vinyl.
This was Landry matt trip
no longer in the comic book store, does not exist. clerk referred another record store, but that store is closed mondays & tuesdays.
