A complete selection of music instruments and accessories, with hometown service. John is very knowledgeable of all things music, and Harts has been in the business for many years.
Before you hit the stage, stop by Harts!
John is very knowledgeable, personable and provides good value for the money. Highly recommend Hart’s Music Center.
Great service, but not a great place to browse around. Very tight, lots if equipment. The owner is absolutely amazing.
Has everything needed for inhome studio
Very friendly and wide variety of instruments available.
Great small town music store with a very helpful and friendly proprietor.

Helpful staff, and a lot of great stuff in store. I highly recommend this place!
Had everything I needed in stock

The little unknown place with hidden gems!..
Nothing in the store was priced. Took the time and found a stack of records I wanted to buy. He said he’d have to go on the internet and price each, one at a time. Gave him about 10 minutes to do that while I shopped. When I was ready to go, he only had one priced, and it was more than twice what it was worth on Discogs. The place was filthy and stinky. So, told him never mind on the records and I would buy the drumsticks and a kick plate. $16.09, fair price. Gave him a $20 and he didn’t have any change. Finally got so frustrated and just left. Don’t waste your time here.
Disorganized and everything is not priced with a tag, you have to ask him to look it up online in order to get a price. You may be there for an hour waiting for him to price each record or instrument you want. You will have better luck going to Guitar Center 20 miles away. Prices were not negotiable as well, just seems like a used music store should be more open minded to pricing and all.
Music store that appears to be run out of someone’s house. It smelled like stale cigarettes and was extremely disorganized. The guy running the place seemed to know his music but unfortunately I couldn’t handle the smell of smoke and was afraid that anything I purchased here would likely bring the smell home with me. Very friendly and helpful but this place desperately needs to be aired out.
4. Mike’s Music
Address: 816 E Main St A, Carbondale, IL 62901 , Shawneetown , Illinois , United States
Super friendly and helpful, great atmosphere and they know the gear. Small shops are usually the best places to find instruments with character and personality while also the least likely places to have to over pay in some cases. 2 years after buying an acoustic with a broken nut for less than half retail value, without a scratch otherwise, the thing still plays with a toothpick as a replacement for the high E and B and still sounds amazing. I appreciate your honesty and business, hope you’re all doing well and have been saving up to check out your bass selection. Thank you!
Pretty nice i like to stop in and look at the guitars. The employees are very helpfull.
Nice guy.
Some vintage gear and some brands I’ve never seen before. Mike was very friendly. If you’re visiting Carbondale and need a quick fix, swing on by. Easy to find on main drag.

Very helpful, kind, and informed staff! I was able to buy a perfect anniversary present for my boyfriend with their help!
I had a wonderful experience shopping here. Very kind and helpful service!
This fun local music shop offers unmatched customer service, competitive prices and quality repairs. Everyone there is knowledgeable and willing to help meet your music needs.
It’s a good place for renting and buying instruments. They repair and provide loaner instruments.
Nice staff, wonderful selection, higher end of the usual price range though.
Last time I came in here I had an employee make fun of me/my instrument because it wasn’t high end (which I knew). Now that I work on my own instruments I know better than to put up with snobby musicians like the one I dealt with here. Three stars because I can’t condemn the entire establishment because of one or two rude employees.
I went to get my clarinet fixed and they tried to up sell me on getting all my pads fixed and thought I was a child and were annoyed I came in the store when I came to pick it up. I will not be using these services again because of the horrible service I received from the workers.
Absolutely the most unprofessional shop around ! Straight garbage
I went in to have my saxophone serviced. The saxophone I play is pretty nice. I mentioned that I played it in marching band and the woman belittled me for playing a nice instrument in marching band. Sorry I don’t have an unlimited supply of saxophones.
