Went to look for Double bass drum pedals. The initial phone call, drums guy was polite, explained and answered questions in a manner that didnt feel rushed or annoyed. Off to the store. The Drums guy showed me their selection and prices, explained a little about each set then backed off and let me make a decision without the classic Guitar Center upsell attempt “just buy this one because [ insert cheesy sell line here] “. Dude that spoke volumes about this store, they werent watching people like police, *cough* Guitar center *cough* they have a better product than other stores in particular the Mapex $119 double bass set has better reviews and looks more sturdy than the Mapex double bass pedals sold at GC for $129 on sale at time of this review for $119. Then on to sticks, again took time to understand what i wanted and what i was desiring to recommend the right product and not the top dollar one! Now off to the front counter, set my stuff down at the reg and told them i was going to wait because i also needed guitar strings. I naturally went for Ernie Ball, but the cashier guy began to tell me about different brand he uses, explained why and also hit all the issues with strings i was having on the head. Its nice to go to music store where people are actually musicians and know what theyre talking about and selling. I definitely will be back. AND i definitely will tell anyone who asks about a music store about them!
My daughter has taken drum lessons at Bailey Brothers for over nine months now. We could not be happier. The customer service we receive from the front desk is wonderful, and her teacher, Leif, is so nice and is an excellent drummer and instructor. The price for their lessons is very competitive, and they are conveniently located. I couldn’t ask for more!
Best guitar store in Alabama! Took my Les Paul in for a pickup swap and they fixed three other problems with it and didn’t even charge me for it! I was so impressed that I bought an amp the same day! Thanks guys!
good staff well organize not bad products
I needed to buy instruments for my Middle School kids. They were very upfront with their prices and seemed to have the best deals.
It was my first time in the store and I had an excellent experience. David was very helpful and friendly as well as the other staff present. The online site lacks a lot of the guitars they have in stock because they get new guitars a lot so I would advise actually going into the store to see their wide selection.
Dishonest, and disrespectful. While I’m aware they have an “all sales final” on used gear policy, it is their responsibility to properly inspect the gear they take in and not sell something that is damaged internally (in my case, a guitar amp). Idiot salesman also had a smug grin on his face the whole time my brother and I were having to deal with it (all 5-6 hours) and was making snooty comments back and forth. In a nut shell they sold me a dead amp and then laughed in my face about it. If this is how your business treats customers, don’t expect to be a business for long. I attempted a purchase with Bailey Brothers about 8 years ago. Was not a pleasant experience. This one wasn’t either. Rest assured, that’s it. I will not be back.
Update: Hey the owner called me just to prove they really do not care about customers. Tried to minimize what happened, and basically acted exactly like Keith did. Also a robotic “I apologize but we’re not going to do anything to fix it” does not count as rectifying anything. Gee wonder why the Southside store closed! Oh yeah and if you have a bad experience with them and they don’t own up to it they’ll do like any typical teenager does and tries to badmouth you on Facebook, then stalk your page. Very mature. Screenshots are great though aren’t they?
PS: Oh and buddy, if I were mad and desperate to pay my rent, then why in the heck did I buy a $700 amp from you? Nice try.
I explained to them thoroughly what I needed and they sold me the opposite! It all about sells and f**k the customers needs! Stay away from the southside location!
manager and owner very racist!

Excellent customer service! They were so helpful with fixing my son’s guitar and went above and beyond to make sure his guitar was fixed and tuned! Adina and Tim both helped us so much and were especially kind!
5. Casebere Violins

I will never go anywhere else. He takes time and explains everything. He does a great job. Very reasonable too! Judy Tayler, Fiddle Player
John takes his time and explains everything to you about your violin. He does not recommend an upgrade (bow or strings) unless he truly thinks it is absolutely necessary. He is a outstanding luthier.
John is a super nice man to work with, and is very knowledgeable at what he does! Great, clean shop with a nice selection of instruments, accessories, and pretty much anything else you’d need for your violin or cello! This was my first visit, and I ended up renting a violin. Thanks John!
They don’t make ’em like this anymore. Best place in town for quality acoustic instruments and service.
Very friendly
Do not recommend, was extremely rude over the phone and continued to interrupt me.

I’ve been taking piano lessons as an adult from Riley at Mason Music for several years now. It’s a great experience at a great school!
Both of my daughters take lessons here and they did a great job pairing them with teachers that match their interest and needs. They enjoy going to their lessons each week with Gabe and Charity and the office is so organized.
Bri is the best! A million stars!

Bought a violin here at a great price, sounds great and it’s beautifully set up. Bob is the man, very knowledgeable and personable. Best music shop in town.
Bob, Jason, Matthew are all incredibly kind humans. Music has been such a big part of my life, my first day of life I was in a music store. They helped me revive that today. Thanks so much guys!!!
This shop is great. Jason set up my 2006 D18 V with a new bone saddle & nut and got everything dialed in just right. She plays and sounds fantastic.
Friendly atmosphere and lots of instruments.
Good product, Good service.
I’ve never dealt with someone so rude over the phone. The owner tried to guilt me with sarcasm and acted like victim when I questioned a price. Full story: I asked to order a cello string. All was going well (owner answered questions about speed of shipping and availability of the string), but then he quoted a price ($81) that was far above what other shops charge. I said respectfully that “I’ve purchased the string for $45 at other walk-in shops” and he became sarcastic and argumentative with me, claiming he was “holding my hand” through the process, and said “Well, I have to pay $35 for this string so what do YOU think is fair for ME to make? $15? What is 35 + 15, huh? Ohhh, maybe $50 is more than you can afford?” A simple, “well this is my price” would have been fine as a response from him, but I felt disrespected so I hung up and decided I’m never going to spend a dime Homewood Musical Instrument Co. I advise everyone else to steer clear of this shop and the guy who owns it.

The staff is very helpful and their I instructors are not just experts in their fields, they understand how to taylor the lessons to each individual.
My son has taken guitar for 2 years and absolutely loves it! It has helped him gain confidence and build character. The staff is friendly and very accommodating. I would highly recommend!
Started taking guitar lessons last year at the ripe old age of 79 at Greystone studio. Having wonderful experience with teacher and staff. I am sure my learning is much slower than the kids that I see there, but I really enjoy it. As I wait for my lesson time I see a lot of interaction between various teachers and young students, and it is all very positive. My teacher understands my pace of learning and structures my lessons and time accordingly. Overall, very enjoyable and productive,

As a parent, it can be challenging to find someone that you can trust not only your child with, but that they will approach the teaching/learning process not in a cookie cutter way. But, let me say with a resounding review, we have found someone who has exceeded our expectations in all areas. Personalized , one on one, professional, and strategic. No regrets here!
We have taken piano lessons with Ms Samantha for about a year and couldn’t be more pleased. She is an exceptional teacher! She is so patient, kind and personable and my daughter warmed up to her immediately. It’s evident that she deeply cares for her students and loves what she does because of how much care she invests in her students. She is a treasure!
They say “you can’t teach an old dog new tricks,” but Samantha is proving them wrong! I am a lifelong musician, a chorist, soloist, guitar player, and a songwriter. But in spite of all this music, I have never had music lessons and have always wanted to be able to REALLY read music, not just “follow along” forever as I had done all my life. Samantha accepted the challenge! In spite of our distance (we live four hours apart), we have weekly classes via Facetime, and it is fantastic!! My first goal of being able to name and identify all the notations on sheet music has been met, and now I am able to play basic melodies on my keyboard. I still have a long way to go, but I appreciate the patience and humor Samantha brings to each class, encouraging me to keep going. Thank you SO MUCH Samantha for helping me advance my music in such a profound and practical way!!

I’ve been doing a lot of editing in Pro Tools. It was kind of confusing at first, but thanks to my mentor I’m figuring it out. I’ve put in a lot of hours and I feel like I’m really mastering it.
Great help with tutoring Session thanks to Marina Antekelien for Helping me out always there for me when I need her and she really care about me as her student she breaks it down to you and makes it way easy for me
This program has been the greatest education I’ve ever had. It was great pleasure working with them, including my advisor Elliot Campos. Whatever I needed, Elliot always had the solution.
