Bought drum sticks to surprise our nephew Noah Bunts he played drums with his Uncle P in The Fourth of July Parade! Signed Zigglar sticks the best for Noah!
Large selection
Great selection for a small store. Staff is very helpful.
Great little shop. Owner Jeff is friendly and patient with us guitar browsing types. Only improvement needed is dealing in used instruments (but those are a headache some shop owners dont really want to deal with).
Oldest guy there was being very rude and threw an the amp cord that i was using while testing a guitar on the ground
2. Brindley’s Music Center
Address: 836 N Arizona Ave, Chandler, AZ 85225 , Six Shooter Canyon , Arizona , United States
I brought my Squier bass here to replace the nut and get some flatwound strings installed with a proper setup. I got it back today (fast turnaround) my ‘cheap’ bass doesn’t feel like a cheap bass anymore. It feels, plays, sounds, and looks awesome! I can’t put it down…
This place is awesome – these are good people that know what they are doing, and I highly recommend a visit.
Great place for lessons. Love to wander around the store and check out all the beautiful instruments
Bruce always does a fantastic job when working on my guitar’s. I brought in over a dozen guitars to have set- ups string and nut replacements. Bruce can make any guitar sound great!
Fix it for the most part. Still feels as if the instrument is leaking from somewhere on the lower register. Still hard to push low notes without struggle.
It was very awesome service but milanos was cheaper books were 8.00 and care kits were10.00 and at brindleys it was almost 16.00 and for book it was 10
They are wonderful people and always take care of their customer by heart.
I went here to have a new nut out on an old guitar of mine. The nut is cut too short making the strings buzz. Now I am left fixing it myself which sucks since I paid almost $60 to have it fixed.
My son wanted to buy from a local shop. He spent $400 of his own money on a used guitar, new amp and cord. The cord tip broke off in the amp input 3 weeks after purchase ruining the cord and amp. My son attempted to get a replacement with his receipt in hand and was told he would need to pay for the repair of the amp. When I called and spoke to the owner Bruce I encountered an arrogant and condescending man with little to no concern for the customer. Instead he proceeded to blame my son for the faulty cord and infer that the damage was caused by something he did. Mind you he has played on entry level equipment for years and never had a single issue. We also had an independent professional agree that the cord was faulty and caused the damage to the amp input. Regardless Bruce repeatedly told me something was fishy, that 2 plus 2 told him something else happened, that he had been in business for 43 years and I didn’t know anything and took the Lords name in vain time after time during our conversation. When I told him it was unfortunate that he wouldn’t correct the issue he told me I would be blackmailing him if a bad review was left. Sorry Bruce but their were no threats made, only a customer wanting others not to have their hard earned money thrown away. Be a professional. Based on some of the other reviews I have looked at it appears we are not the first, second or even third customers treated this way. When he continued to argue and obsess that he would dispute a review and it was apparent nothing else mattered I hung up. No amount of logic would change this mans mind. Fortunately we know the truth and he can convince himself otherwise all he wants. Their are plenty of local shops lile Milanos and corporate shops like Guitar Center who appreciate the business and know the value of a loyal customer!
Sold my 6 month old Guild OM240 cuz I was struggling financially. I paid $425 for it at Bizarre Guitar. Owner tells me there’s major work needing to be done cuz wood was dry and neck was tweaked. He said he’d hafta put in humidifier for couple weeks and he MIGHT be able to repair. He offered me $150. I had to plead with him to give me $160…The very next day he listed it on Offer up for $375. Call it smart business. Call it shrewdness.
I call it dishonesty. Only Guild I could ever afford and I’m humiliated. Regret going here.
3. Summersong Music Company
Address: 180 Main St, Snowflake, AZ 85937 , Six Shooter Canyon , Arizona , United States
Very cool store – felt like I died and ended up in guitar heaven! In addition to the awesome guitars, the team working there is too notch. Very knowledgeable, experienced, and friendly. Really enjoyed my visit there and appreciated the work they did on my guitar.
Bernie was a great man to deal with. He is also a musician and luthier. Truly a wonderful experience. Would highly recommend.
Acoustic Vibes is a good name, because this shop has a very cool vibe indeed, and a great selection of acoustic instruments. The staff is top notch: knowledgeable, friendly, and they make you feel right at home.
Let me share a quick story:
I am originally from St. Louis, and we moved to Phoenix on Sep 1, 2022, after living in the Milwaukee-Chicago area for 2 years. It took me a while to discover Acoustic Vibes, but when I did, I could tell this was a stellar staff and an awesome store! I had been looking to get some repair and modification work done on my early 1940’s Gibson acoustic, but I took my time, waiting to find a repair person that I could trust. Dylan not only made great and conservative recommendations on what needed to be done to my guitar, but when he got it back to me (which was an amazingly fast turnaround), it played and sounded better than ever. This guitar is a cannon and I wanted an amplification system that would properly reproduce this sound honestly and true. The entire staff gathered around to advise me on this, and Dylan let me try some different pickup scenarios. I chose the pickup that they all recommended, which was the K&K pure mini system. When I plugged my guitar in to hear the results, I could not stop grinning!
I have been playing regularly, as a professional, working musician for 30 years. I’ve toured the country and have been around the block a time or two. I can tell you that this place has been a wonderful discovery and I enthusiastically give them 5 stars across the board!
Nice acoustic design,
all acoustic guitars top shelf brands.
High end guitars on an eclectic atmosphere with no pressure sales.
Best acoustic guitar selection I’ve seen
Very unfortunate visit, coming in to try out and buy a steel string guitar. We were greeted with passive aggressiveness and a magazine thrown across the main entrance before entering the guitar room from the shop keeper, young guy. incredibly rude and 0 customer service.
Made the whole stay unpleasant.
Monday 11:10am
Good selection, but weird atmosphere and left me feeling unwelcome. One might think such a ‘high’ tier guitar store would offer a ‘high’ tier experience, but that wasn’t the case for me. When I first entered the building I was met by a few older customers and employees and got nothing but a sour face by everyone just by opening the door, no greeting, nothing- super awkward, everybody literally stopped talking to look at me with an irritated look, as if I had interrupted something. I then had to excuse myself past the small gathering of what looked like employees talking to customers that wouldn’t move just to get to the first guitar room. I then was greeted by a salesman who instead of letting me tell him what I’m looking for, proceeds to go into a shpeel on all the different Martin models, basically making me interrupt him to tell what I’m looking for. The salesman also told me HD28s don’t come with dot inlays yet here I am looking at older models with them all over the internet. There was nobody else browsing the store in the guitar sections. I was then told I could play guitars, but the adjacent rooms are used for things like Banjo, which made it so I couldn’t even hear the guitars I was trying to play because somebody was in there clawing away. I really don’t think I’ll be visiting again, regardless of the selection. I’ll spend thousands of dollars somewhere else that takes every customer seriously. I went to Milano music right after and was treated respectfully and seriously without hesitation, and I didn’t need to schedule a high-pressure sales pitch and waste an hour of my time.
5. Ziggie’s Music
Address: 3309 N 3rd St Ac, Phoenix, AZ 85012 , Six Shooter Canyon , Arizona , United States
Really cool little mom and pop. Loved the atmosphere here, definitely will revisit this shop.
Lots of amps and guitars
The perfectly imperfect music store with a hometown feel.
Very helpful the information what’s good
literally 30 minutes b4 it was supposed to close me my mom and friend were trying to get in it was closed and we were looking in it was dirty that didn’t bother me it was just the fact there were no employees there 30 before close hours meaning it wasn’t we had just missed it meaning they had closed before hand
Was looking for a decent music store but this is not it. The place is dirty, and only carries used gear. The selection was very disappointing. Look elsewhere
Store hours say 10 til 6 M thru S but they don’t follow them…..went by at 230 and no one showed up…..zero stars if I could
6. Music & Arts
Address: 891 E Baseline Rd Suite 101, Gilbert, AZ 85233 , Six Shooter Canyon , Arizona , United States
Very nice experience here. Everyone was friendly and very helpful.
Took lessons there, enjoyed
Very friendly and helpful
Definitely not as friendly or helpful as the Power location.
It’s a good shop with kind staff and great teachers. But it’s missing some TLC. Cello bow options are limited and there’s this huge tent inside that is just in the way
This place is a great place. They are helping navigate being the mom of an orchestra student and it’s a task! They are so nice about helping me figure out what book I need to get him and what size chin rest he needs. They’re super nice.
Very low selection of guitars employee was rude
I’ve bought here a few times and have had good service. They just lost a sale when the female employee hurried in the door and locked it behind her, when all I was trying to ask her is what time they opened. Rude way to treat a potential customer.
Sour experience with customer service
7. Agave Music
Address: 2317 N 16th St, Phoenix, AZ 85006 , Six Shooter Canyon , Arizona , United States
Found great used instrument for high school graduate! Good value.
Great saxophone service. Chris has tuned up/repaired 5 of my saxes and they were incredible afterwards. Didn’t realize how much I needed a tune up on my saxes.
Great attention to detail and walked me through everything he was doing!
The guy in the back was cool but the bitter lady up front sucked
Brought alto sax in thinking I would have to leave it. Foutgently they could fix it while I wait. Good price for repair.
Chris the technician is extremely competent! Highly recommend!
8. J&M Guitar
Address: 13439 N Cave Creek Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85022 , Six Shooter Canyon , Arizona , United States
Taking guitar lessons, right now. Adam is incredibly knowledgeable. I also bought my guitar there. Great instrument. They come highly recommended by me!
Cozy little guitar shop on Cave Creek, super friendly, glad to have them in the neighborhood 🙂
Great guitar tech, Mike, fixed my flamemco. Needed fret work and he nailed it. Great place and the actually have Jim Dunlap Flat Capos here. Very reasonably priced too !
Great very good helped me out and explained things very well good prices.and good help i will go there 4 all my music need s thanks
It’s a guitar shop and lessons too. … my son teacher is great. …
Better than Guitar Center!!!!
I looked at a guitar and didnt buy it. The guy harrased me.
9. Zimm’s Guitars
Address: 1305 W Guadalupe Rd Ste E1, Mesa, AZ 85202 , Six Shooter Canyon , Arizona , United States
Friendly honest owner there all the time! Better knowledge than a website or some type of Center. Good place to spend a little hard earned dough. So many pedals!!
Just purchased an amp from this shop. The owner is the friendliest person and is always a pleasure to talk with. I can’t recommend this place enough. Cool, rare pieces that you usually can’t find online, and at honest prices. I highly encourage you check this place out!
Love this little local shop. (watch all your vids btw) Only reason for 4 stars is everything has to be fairly quiet because the tenant in the unit adjoining them complains. Kind of a bummer for a music store. But everything else is aces. 🙂
Great guitar shop, probably why Phoenix keeps rating it so high. The owner is informative and, if not busy, will happily converse. Plus, you have a shot at meeting interesting customers there, or at least I do. Nice selection of gear, new and used at fair market prices, which is why I go. I pass 3 other shops to get there and would drive twice that distance if needed.
Excellent small guitar shop one of the best on town
Heard good things about them, but don’t advertise that you are open hours that you are not open, maybe I’ll change my rating for it when I go in there and they’re actually open when they say they are
Showed up right after 5:30pm and they were closed. Hours say open until 6pm.
10. Bizarre Guitar & Drums
Address: 4322 N 7th Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85013 , Six Shooter Canyon , Arizona , United States
I’ve visited Bizarre Guitar several times and every time they have offered amazing customer service, recommendations, and insightful fixes when I had any guitar issues. You guys deserve no less than 5 stars!! Thank you!
Bought a small amp, super helpful and friendly. Great staff, highly recommend for your music needs.
The store and staff are fantastic! Jerry & Donnie were friendly, knowledgeable and patient. Staff puts you at ease, very happy with my new guitar / purchase. Would absolutely recommend this guitar & drum shop to anyone!
Adjusted my guitar, tightened everything down, fixed my tone knob cracking sound, and gave me a quote all for free. The nicest and realest people in the AZ guitar business you will meet. Planning to come again soon!
Te ven como si te fueras a robar algo , bueno yo tuve esa experiencia
11. Milano Music
Address: 38 W Main St, Mesa, AZ 85201 , Six Shooter Canyon , Arizona , United States
Good service but try going during the week and not on a saturday…to manny people.
Very knowledgeable. Good place to rent instruments, or get microphones.
Thanks Milano! Staff is nice. Gave me a month off for previous review experience. You have redeemed yourself!!!!
🙂
Great school rentals
I have a friend who has a keyboard and he keeps breaking the music stand to it to it on a whim or rather an impulse I stopped in to see if they happen to have a music stand that would suit his keyboard and surprising as it was they did. So I purchased it and gave it to my friend staff was kind of odd the first person that said anything to me said are you looking for the exit. That’s about it.
I love this store and have been a customer for 15 years! Unfortunately, their carpet is so old it seems like an environmental hazard. It grosses me out when I go there! Please replace!!!
Too expensive!
Heard about how huge they were and how they offered instrument servicing. Took my son’s clarinet there to have a couple pads replaced. They never called me the next day, like they said they would. That was 4 days ago… I call them today and the guy says “your instrument is not in the system.. Let me call you right back.” He did call back within the hour and then said it was on hold and told me it would be $350 for the repairs…
Family member who is a music teacher says that’s a bit steep.. And, when were they ever going to call me?
Terrible customer service and very rude. Would seek an alternative music store instead.
12. John’s Corner Music Shop
Address: 8680 AZ-69, Prescott Valley, AZ 86314 , Six Shooter Canyon , Arizona , United States
I highly recommend checking out this shop if you’re in the market for a new (used) guitar, amp, or ukulele. My partner and I had our instruments stolen out of our van on a road trip and the folks in this shop really hooked us up. They’re SO nice, helpful, and the instruments we got are in excellent condition. High quality for an accessible price. Thank you so much, John’s Corner Music Shop.
What a great little shop. John answered all my ukulele questions and more! I was given new ukulele strings as a gift and I asked John if he could install them for me. When he was done (about 15 minutes) I wanted to pay him but he wouldn’t take anything. Zero. All he asked of me was to take a couple of business cards to give to friends. The shop has enough stuff to fill a space twice its size. Honest and fast. I’ll be back.
Great place. Great people!
Low quality gear that is way over priced.
wouldn’t give it even one star! I just went in to grab some guitar strings and was never once acknowledged the whole time I was there. Not even a greeting. needless to say I walked out. Not sure what the deal is in this town but I have yet to encounter any sort of professionalism with the businesses here!!!
13. B&D Guitar Repair
Address: 2202 W Lone Cactus Dr #4, Phoenix, AZ 85027 , Six Shooter Canyon , Arizona , United States
I took my acoustic guitar to B&D this morning and it was a great experience. Billy looked at my acoustic, provided guidance, and fixed the issue. I’ve got another guitar that I’ll be taking to him next week.
Amazing, amazing, amazing. I picked up my Les Paul today after Billy only having it 2 days to swap out a pickup, redress the fretboard and straighten the neck. It plays exactly how I always thought it should. You may have to wait a while to get your guitar in, but this man does amazing work. I have been looking for someone with his skills for over 20 years and will not take any of my guitars to anyone else..ever!
Person was rude on the phone. I was trying to explain how a guitar’ bridge was causing me problems.
Then he tells me “not to take my frustrations out on him” when i was simply attempting to explain the situation.
He seems arrogant and condescending
Nice posters, but where are all the tools???? Instead of wasting your money on bogus YELP adds, spend it on tools.
My experience was less than stellar. A vintage pickup mysteriously stopped working while in his care. I forgave it. Then, one guitar was given back filthy even though I specifically asked him to clean it as part of the service. Spare parts strewn in the case. And he was late. I was in a hurry when I picked up my stuff and didn’t realize most of this until I got home. I guess it’s just me he does this too. I try to frequent local small businesses, but why bother. You can’t count on anyone nowadays.
14. PRESCOTT VALLEY MUSIC – PV MUSIC
Address: 8561 Florentine Rd suite a, Prescott Valley, AZ 86314 , Six Shooter Canyon , Arizona , United States
THESE GUYS ARE ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL, YOU CANNOT LOSE! I’ve had my guitar for over 22years, and took it to them for a custom wiring and tune-up. The results are stunning. The level of clarity is flawless, the dynamic range has been fully unlocked, and a certain level of smoothness I had not known is now there. It feels and plays better than I ever knew it to now. I had not realized how much energy I was putting into playing until now, the action is perfect all across the fretboard. Do yourself a solid and trust Russ at PV Music for what your trying to accomplish musically. The combined wisdom and expertise there is second to none. THANK ALL OF YOU FOR THE SETTING THE STANDARDS FOR OTHERS ATTEMPTING TO BE AS BADASS AS YOU GUYS!
I’m very pleased with my vintage tenor banjo purchase at Prescott Valley Music. Russ was very kind, helpful and accommodated my ever need. Thanks Russ, I hope to do business with you again.
They were so helpful when I recently purchased a guitar, got accessories and music books. It was so nice to have people care about your success and give honest recommendations. My husband went with me and he was also impressed. They will be my future go to music store from now on. Julie S
Went there with a friend.
I stopped by Prescott Valley Music looking for someone to repair my flute. Even though they specialize in guitar repair, he fixed my flute within minutes at no charge. I will definitely go back with my guitar needs.
Don’t buy vinyl from them
Sadly, and most regrettably, I must report that Russell, the proprietor of PVM, used his prior good business standing to consign, endorse, solicit, directly accept partial payment for, a fraudulently, utterly misrepresented $3k instrument, that is so INTENTIONALLY damaged (a 40” gong, sawn into THREE parts, then poorly soldered back together) that it is basically rendered useless as a musical instrument. He also personally/professionally arranged for its delivery and attested to the instrument’s ‘excellent’ condition (all in email and voicemails, still retained as evidence).
Initially responsive, and seemingly aghast, he and the seller he worked with, and as agent for, now decline to correspond or address this, each saying neither or the other is responsible.
A $3k scam?????
BEWARE!!
I think all they sell is USED. Even patch cords. 🙁 Totally disgusting and disappointed.
15. The Record Room
Address: 2601 W Dunlap Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85021 , Six Shooter Canyon , Arizona , United States
Both men there were welcoming and knowledgeable. I had my 2 year old daughter with me and 1 of the guys even took part in a conversation with her. My fiance was able to find what he was looking for, the store was organized. He purchased 2 records, reasonably priced.
Best place I have ever seen to buy vintage vinyl. Great staff is always friendly and helpful. It’s so refreshing to find a specialty store with such a huge variety of product at very affordable prices. If you are looking for vinyl – don’t miss the Record Room. I pop in at least once a week just to see what’s “old” new!
On a Record Hunt weekend we visited. 3 othe record stores in town. The Record Roomhad the best selection and prices across the the board!! I knew this place was great, i didnt realize how much better it was than the others. Nice to know there is a treasure nearby.
Cool place but pickens are a bit slim
Great record shop whose focus is 95% towards vinyl. The vast majority is second hand, so as you would imagine stock is ever changing and unpredictable. Sometimes you finds lots of stuff, sometimes a little and even nothing that suits your tastes. The hunt is fun though. Staff is friendly, helpful and always has an eclectic mix of music playing.
No complaints! Found some good records at very good prices and the commute was easy enough.
Sorry, but this place is going downhill as they say. Boxes everywhere, prices missing, damaged records way overpriced. They do not inspect records well and I am tired of paying good money for records that sizzle like bacon and skip. In the store’s defense… Stop complaining about trade-ins. They are in business to pay rent and make money. Your Kenny loggins CD and your old Neil diamond album are not priceless treasures.
Spent almost an hour here searching their great selection and decent price only to have the gentleman at the checkout counter yell at me for putting my vinyl in a bag while I shopped. I told him no problem and he continued to be aggressive/rude. I had probably $300 worth of vinyl I left there at the register and I will never step foot in the establishment again. Plenty of other quality shops in the area (thankfully). Don’t go here unless you want to be talked down to and berated. Sad cuz they had some albums I really wanted.
Waited an hour to sell my cds as the only person running the store seemed to have issues tallying up other people’s orders. I understand that researching and buying items can be time consuming. But let me know how much more time is expected so I’m not waiting there and wasting part of my day. Owner will make fun of his employees by saying they were dropped on their heads as a infant. Classy.
