Excellent selection of genre’s, hard-to-find music, eclectic and more. Awesome staff, always willing to help.
As Tina Turner says, “Simply the best!” This is where it all started for me. As a Kid, I bought my first album here at 12 years old. They even hosted my bands demo for a while when I was in High School. I’ve been a DJ for over 20 years & never forgot my roots. Hard to find music isn’t a problem for Gary (Owner). Every Genre & record supplies too! This place is the Cat’s Pajamas!
Gary and his employees are knowledgeable with music. Has quite a bit of music. Always friendly.
Good selection at fair prices
People here go above and beyond to your visit worth while
Dude this place is killer Gary and Adam (he wrote a cool book) awesome metal selection they can order pretty much anything you want if it’s not in the store plus they have been around for years hell yeah support the local music really great place hands down
Someone said “best indie cd store around” which is a real stretch. Not a whole lot of indie in my experience. Mostly boomer rock and playing it safe mainstream stuff. It may not be your cup of tea but if you own a record store and don’t carry at least one King Gizzard record then you aren’t really tapped into what is current and what sells.
This isnt a music store. I am a professional guitarist, and was looking for a local place to buy another guitar. This is a RECORD store, the ideas cool but I think the name is miss leading. Its definitely not a music outlet, should be called record outlet.

Forget about those other so-Called piano tuners.
This is “THE MAN” for the job.
Not only did he “PERFECTLY” tune my piano, but tweaked it to perfection. Made my “1890” old piano sound brand new. I highly recommend this guy for any restoration and tuning.
Izzy Flores
This is a great place. I had an opportunity to play there. Great brands, high level instruments, great service. Visit this place. It is really worth.
Ryan is a well experienced technician and provides great service
Highly recommend! Ryan is top notch and always gets our studio piano at Sage Sound Studios sounding great! He is very knowledgable, and accommodating.

I’ve been with Herb for over 25 years. He has done the impossible at times. He is a gentleman and friend of mine. He loves my Baldwin grand and he enjoys tuning and minor repairs. It’s a joy when he comes.
My brilliant and thundering instrument.
I have revised my will to give him my Baldwin.
While I can only attest to a piano move Herb Lindahl did for me, I was incredibly impressed. I had a heavy piano (~500 lb) that had to be moved down a slippery basement hatchway… Herb and his associate took care of everything, and treated the piano with knowledge and care. I am an Angie’s List subscriber, and he has outstanding, essentially perfect reviews for other piano moves and piano tuning or service. Good man, excellent service, good prices. Give him a call.
Great man. Very very capable and reasonable.
9. Southwood Antiques & Marketplace, LLC
Address: 89 Raffia Rd, Enfield, CT 06082 , Southwood Acres , Connecticut , United States
Just amazing. Only problem is I have to time my self here… Outer wise I’d go broke
Jackie and the other people working here are so helpful and sweet. The booths are amazing, this place is bigger than you think! I could spend all day (and all my money) there!
More a collection of chochkis than antiques.
Nice little place with a lot of different items to choose from. Seems more like a consignment shop than an antique shop.
Fun visiting all old nostalgia. Reasonable prices!
Absolutely can’t trust. Have a good time here. Ask to speak to the owners pass along your compliments. Told you will hear back
You don’t. Ask to volunteer . Not job. Not intern. A free worker I mean volunteer. Told you will hear back. You hear nothing. So nice seeing promise and words are just lies and facades.

Address: 95 Poquonock Ave, Windsor, CT 06095 , Southwood Acres , Connecticut , United States
The owners are amazing and so helpful. Such a small town store with a wide variety of instruments. Wouldn’t go anywhere else!!!
Low cost repairs. fast, convenient respectful
Great guys my son is just starting to learn how to play instruments his friend damaged his brass and they where able to take care of everything and had it back the next day in time for him to have it at school for music class
It’s okay.
Nice guy and great service so far!
My grandma brought two ukuleles here to be repaired before she passed away. They were from the 1940s and held a lot of sentimental value for me, as they were the first instrument I ever learned to play on. After she passed away, a family member went to retrieve them and the store conveniently had “no record” of them. Scammers and low lifes.
Not bad.
Rented a violin during 2012/2013 school year. Throughout the school year violin needed numerous repairs, therefore, I did not rent from them the following school year. Low and behold as reviewing my bank statements I noted a monthly charge from them. Upon calling and speaking with “Joe” I was told that even though the violin was never returned to me after the last repair, I did not officially return the violin. and the charges can not be or won’t be refunded. Duly note that the violin is and has been with them since June of 2013 and the owner acknowledged this fact. I now know why they were not listed as a rental place by the school system. I would never buy from them again or refer any business their way.
Andante Strings played at my mother’s memorial service and they were FABULOUS. Shannon is easy to work with and extremely accommodating. They played all of my father’s favorite songs.
12. CBug’s Records
Address: 42 Bridge St, East Windsor, CT 06088 , Southwood Acres , Connecticut , United States
A great record store. New titles arriving constantly, wide selection, friendly and helpful staff.
So mamy amazing antiques and collectables here of literally everything
CBug’s Records is a good place to find a good variety of vintage records, it is my favorite place to search for records and increase my collection. the attention is very good as well as the offers. recommendable!
Decent selection, but many items were overpriced for sure. I’m a little upset with myself because I didn’t get a receipt and an album I bought here I saw at Target (brand new), not 2 hours later, for $7 less than I had paid. Oh well, live and learn, I suppose. Seemed most records were second-hand as well.
The staff were nice and helpful and the antique stores downstairs and next door were full of very interesting stuff. It’s worth a trip.
Excellent selection with a lot of stuff in the underground section that you rarely see around. Prices are a bit high compared to other shops in the area.
13. Guttag Music Center
Address: Academy, Suffield Academy Dr, Suffield, CT 06078 , Southwood Acres , Connecticut , United States
Stopped in store for first time to get a couple guitar related things. Super friendly and knowledgeable
They have fair pricing and will often give you a discount. Mark and Eric are great to work with at their East Hartford, CT location. You pay cash…they give you a better deal too. Tons of vinyl records for Beat Makers and Producers. All Genres to flip through.
Super nice and friendly in the store, and Mr. LaSalle did a wonderful job restoring my dad’s old 1962 guitar that had not been touched in decades and needed a lot of work. Definitely recommend! Photos are before and after.
First, the employees were excellent; friendly and helpful. I was extremely disappointed in the store itself. This was basically a dark, messy pawn shop, not the store I was familiar with from years ago. My only reason to go back would be to pick through dusty items to find something I might be in search of, more of an adventure.
Total waste of my time
Ordered lugs for my snare. They sent me receipts and invoices and never shipped my lugs. I called and emailed multiple times and never got a response back after leaving numerous messages. Been 2 months and I still don’t have my lugs and am out $60.
Closed even though the hours said it was open (3 pm on a Wednesday). The place looked like a hoarders attic. Absolute mess.
15. Game X Change
Address: 54 Hazard Ave Suite 125, Enfield, CT 06083 , Southwood Acres , Connecticut , United States
I will be going back weekly! Friendly staff and great selections!
Awesome place with tons of new and vintage games, movies, and collectibles. The staff are really what tie the place together, being both fun and knowledgeable. Great place to go if your a collector, occult movie fan or video game enthusiast.
Nice selection of old and new games. Great customer service.
Nice place for older electronics, games, movies, and collectables. I haven’t sold or traded anything in to Game X Change yet, so my review is only based on my shopping experience there. From the second I walk in, the staff is friendly and greets me, and asks if they can help. Usually, I’m just there to browse Sega Genesis and Atari 2600 games. Their selection can be lacking at times for Genesis though. The vast majority here are the sports games that you would find anywhere, but I know they are at the mercy of what the local trade-ins bring in. The store is otherwise a pretty well-rounded selection of games, accessories, and pop-culture merch. I’ve also found some great deals. I’ve gotten some games for less than the going rate in the retro market, which I always appreciate. I’m glad to have this store in Enfield, and I’ll keep coming back.
Full selection of awesome games, collectables and more.
If you haven’t been you should go check it out
This place is a NO GOOOO! They tax super hard and are super unfriendly. Brought a ton of stuff in and told me 90% was junk. They have no regard for respect, and they are just plain rude. Nice looking shop tho :/
So, this store was a good place to visit whenever I was getting groceries at the nearby Stop & Shop, where I occasionally bought a video game or poster, and more often recently, Magic: The Gathering cards.
…At least until a couple months ago, when suddenly the manager came in and asked me to leave, saying I was no longer welcome there, claiming multiple reports of me being rude and/or creepy to other people in the store.
This came completely out of left field to me. Sure, I had frequently talked with others in the store, but I thought those were always friendly conversations, and I’d sometimes even help them with things. And not once, ever, did I get warned that I was doing anything inappropriate or unwanted at any point.
So, now suddenly I have a lifetime ban from the store without any prior warning whatsoever, and no chance to possibly amend my behavior if I accidentally was being rude or creepy somehow? This is unacceptable. And this leaves me feeling awful, especially whenever I’m in the general area, like if I’m just doing errands at the nearby Stop & Shop.
I even tried to talk again with the manager again today, but she was just so stern and intimidating, and threatened to call the police on me, without giving me any real chance to defend myself and explain my case. Unfortunately, because of this atrocity, and the fact that I can no longer shop there for anything ever again, I must give this store a bad review score.
They won’t even give me my full cash back for a broken computer that they say they tested but they didn’t it’s broken
16. Rayburn Music
Address: 22B Andover Dr, West Hartford, CT 06110 , Southwood Acres , Connecticut , United States
Very friendly fast and efficient service! I love shopping local
Very helpful.
Excellent Quality of both service and instruments.
Fast and friendly service
In store service is good but can never call the Hartford Rayburn Music. Electronic voice prompts to dial 0 for an attendant but when do so it says “Your call cannot be transferred” been a customer for about 3 years. Never could get done anything over phone. Have to visit store for everything.
trying to reach the store for the past 5 months. they are not responding to email or phone call. The phone service is also disconnected now.
we are left with no response and no refund.
We rented a viola from Rayburn. The first viola wasn’t put together right (something to do with the bridge). after switching to another viola we realized the bow doesn’t quite fit with the viola.
we rented from the music store in the center and it was a great experience but pricier. though Rayburn isn’t cheap either
they will be replacing the viola once more, lets see how it goes this time…
17. The Music Score LLC
Address: 2315 Silas Deane Hwy, Rocky Hill, CT 06067 , Southwood Acres , Connecticut , United States
Gil is a super friendly guy! My son really enjoys guitar lessons with him!
Really great place to stop by and get an instrument. The prices seem a bit higher but the quality is surely within the quality you’d expect.
I bought a ukulele here and the quality and sound lived up to the price.
I have been taking piano lessons with Gil Flores @ The Music Score studio for the past 2 years and have had an excellent experience. Gil brings a wealth of musical experience and teaches in a very understandable, nonthreatening manner with reasonable expectations and positive feedback. Relates well to all age groups.
Very knowledgeable and friendly.
My daughter is signed up for lessons and her teacher is great (I hear the others are as well). Just try not to deal with the guy that owns it.
Arrived at 10:00am (they open at 10am, but not today). I waited and they finally arrived. All I needed was guitar strings, but they had none. What a waste of time.
I tried to return my daughter’s Viola due to the school no longer providing classes. It was a total nightmare to get an answer in regards to my credit. They are very irresponsible and I am very disappointed by the lack of care towards my return which was even misplaced! Mom and dad are not helpful at all and he should really look at keeping them home, they make things worse!
A brick and mortar building full of books. Does a bibliophile need say more?
Hug selection of books, games, audio books, and much more! The staff is always friendly, really helpful, and extremely knowledgeable!
The store is always clean and inviting. The staff always friendly and helpful. I love giving my business to this Barnes And Noble.
I got what I wanted and I was in and out in no time.
A smaller Barnes and noble. Good place to pick up popular books. Support your local book store.
Not enough books for adults, more than half the store is geared towards young readers and children.
Can’t get anyone on the phone for customer service…ridiculous.
Good reason why Nooks and Amazon are winning the retail wars.
Fantastic service manager helpful
Thats why 2 stars instead of one
I understand it’s black Friday but don’t yawn loudly
