You can rent an instrument for your kid’s school music class here. The prices were reasonable. They are very knowledgeable and showed me how to assemble the saxophone. Also, they were very helpful on how to clean it and how to properly attach the reed (including how to wet the reed properly). They were very patient with all the questions I had for the instrument, the rental process, etc.
My son takes piano lessons here from Rick Lowe and it is great. Rick is the first piano teacher he’s had that really takes time with him and really gets working with a kid. The staff at the store itself is very friendly and knowledgeable. We’ve never had a bad experience here.
Great family owned spot. Mr.Gordon essentially changed our lives by allowing our business to coexist with his at the downtown location. We will be here as long as Gordons Music and Sound is!
nice music
The only problem I have with Gordon’s is the prices I paid $23.45 for one oboe reed and to me I think that is very pricey
Rude ppl
We returned our rental violin a week before it was due and still were charged for the next month. When I contacted Gordon’s they stated they would look into it. After many calls back and forth of them verifying that yes we had turned it in on time they said they would look into a refund. A month later still no refund. When I called again I was told by Mr. Gordon that maybe the problem was with my bank, that perhaps they were deciding not to post the credit.
Had our family piano taken to the store to be sold, it was the Sacramento store they have had the piano for over three years now and have not sold it even after reducing the price buy 50% they also took the piano from the Sacramento store without telling me, they decided to close the Sacto store because of poor sales performance in the current economy, then they moved it to their main store in Fairfield without telling me I only found out because I went to the store in Sacramento to ask them how the sale of it was doing and the store was closed up and I had to do some research to find out they had a main store in Fairfield.
Bought a used supposedly “gone through” Marshall amp and brand new guitar and boss effects system. Brought both back numerous times because the sound from one of the two was cutting out. All returns to the store provided that they couldn’t find the problem. When I returned home each time the cutting out of sound was apparent and obvious. The store would not refund my cash payment to buy a new amplifier but insisted I could trade for something else only. I took the amp to another guitar shop in Sacramento and before I finished looking around the tech had found a cold solder joint with cracks in it which should have been obvious to someone that has been in the business for years. They either knew what was wrong and were too cheap to fix it, or they due to inexperience really had no idea. I had to pay to have it repaired when I shouldn’t have had to. I will never go back again. I would highly not recommend anyone buying from them as they don’t stand behind their products. I also purchased almost $2000.00 worth of equipment from them to get screwed like I did. Thumbs down!

Amazing place with excellent merchandise beaten only by its more excellent service. Best store in downtown suisun!
Super cool little spot. It’s like going back to the late 80’s early 90’s
Good selection of retro games and records, friendly staff
This place has been around and while the selection is plenty it may be hard to find something specific. The bins are arranged in, 99 cent bins, 5 dollar bins, and collector bins. The bins are supposed to be alphabetical and they are but could be better. The bins are mostly filled with people you’ve never heard of and there may be 4 or 5 copies of a single record you’ve never heard of and maybe 1 that may be of interest in 50 records you look through. I try to stick to the 5 dollar bins, which are 5 dollars each or 5 records for 20 dollars, not bad if you can find 5 records worth your while. They do have plenty of genres though and hundreds of records. This is a record store where you do really have to dig to find what you want, maybe that’s why it’s only slightly alphabetized. Today, 4/21/2018, i was in there for maybe a half hour and couldn’t find anything worth while in the 5 dollar bins so went to check out the more expensive ones and then i only found a couple i really liked and heard of. This is no rasputins or Barnes and noble, it’s a real record store that’s filled with hundreds of records and that will suck you in. While the prices can be good, the search can be exhausting, but the experience can be rewarding. I’ve been here off and on every few months and I’ll continue for years to come.
Nice staff and have a good selection of games and records. Beware of the popular games they get a $10-$15 bump in price.
True to the name…lots of old school systems. I know where to go for my old school gaming needs.
Overpriced games
Cashier ignored everyone in the store. Seems more interested in slowly stapling papers than trying to provide customer service.
I used to come here all the time and do business with the original owners, but the new owner is terrible, unfriendly, and completely wasted my time. I live 30 minutes away and called beforehand to make sure I’m not wasting my time driving all the way out there. I asked him what he pays for trade-in value on used NES, SNES, and Xbox 360 controllers. He told me $10 trade-in value for each controller depending on how many I bring him. I brought him a big box of stuff, he pulled out all his favorite controllers that he wanted and then told me he would only pay me $5 trade-in value per controller. When I told him you told me $10 over the phone, his only response was “That’s why I don’t like giving quotes over the phone because I don’t know the condition”. The condition on these controllers was absolutely fine. Especially the SNES controllers. These controllers are over 30 years old, of course they are going to have some light scratches on the back and maybe some specs of dirt that can be scrubbed off with a toothbrush, but to offer 50% what you offered on the phone is absolutely ridiculous. He also turned down all of my Xbox 360 controllers when he just stated on the phone that he needed them and those were also in perfectly good condition. Look at this photo of the controllers he quoted me on and you tell me if this looks like offering me 50% what he offered on the phone is fair given the condition.
