Walked in. Others were at the counter being served, made eye contact with the first employee at the counter. As soon as everyone was served, me being the last person standing, that same employee walked away and checked on customers walking around the store. Wasn’t even greeted…wasn’t asked if I needed anything. The same employee brought someone over to the counter, I’m standing right up to the counter ‍♀️…skipping me. That person left, I’m still standing right at the counter, I was about to say I need help, WHILE this same employee is looking ALL around me, someone walks in the store, and the employee asked them if they’d been helped yet…….WOW . So still waiting, that customer said no, I finally asked for help, and the employee looks at me abruptly like I wasn’t there the entire time, although we made eye contact when I first walked in. He rung me up, got a bag for my items. I got what I needed and left.

They apparently don’t do returns and if you go through with their financing they make you deal with it yourself Nate accused me of using the equipment for one day and returning it when the equipment was cheap af and not worth the expensive price tag they had on it …stick to Sam ash or guitar center found way better pricing and options

Called to ask a question, line rang then. Clicked called again was told we are closed and then abruptly hanged up on me. Never been but surely won’t ever go or recommend now.

Took way to long to checkout.

I would avoid the used market place from this store. They do not inspect the used gear they buy, and they will not verify the contents of the used gear prior to purchase. This information comes from the store manager, who I spoke with today. For example, a speaker cabinet on their marketplace could be loaded with ANY working speakers. They don’t check when they purchase used gear.

Manager turned down a sale today because he was too busy to check for me. Today is Saturday, and he said the earliest he could look is Monday. A customer in the store should NOT have to wait three days to know the contents and condition of a used item. Why would you expect someone who calls ahead of purchase to wait either? Glad you are busy today… so busy in fact you have lost an easy sale.

Do not go here to sell used equipment. You are better off going to a pawnshop. I called them prior to coming out 35 minutes away from my house to see if they would offer me more than a pawn shop and they said that they absolutely would Because they offer 60% of what it’s worth and they only offered 60% of what their used the value is and my machine is brand new only used about 6 times with not one scratch on it, they actually offered me less than the pawn shop. They only offer you about a 3rd of what the equipment is worth. Don’t waste your time sell it on Facebook or online.

Fix your hours on google. I called around 10:35 AM to ask a question and instead of answering a very simple question the gentlemen said call back when we open. I informed him the hours are not accurate listed on google and he continued to say call back when we open. Will not call back, and certainly not visit with the poor quality service shown here.

Very pleasant experience

Rob in the guitar area was amazing. We were looking to get my 11 year old son into his first decent guitar. Rob was extremely knowledgeable and so patient. He allowed my son to try as many different guitars as he wished and Rob was able to provide valuable feedback into which guitar fit my son the best. The store was well organized, clean and allowed for a very nice overall experience. We will definitely be back.

The attention was amazing by Rene because he explained everything about the product i needed and even Jose tried to do his best and it was obvious that he was learning still.

I best describe my experience as a Sam Ash, ‘Tale of 2 Cities’.

As a reptired healthcare administrator and disabled US Marine who uses music as physical and mental health therapy, I give Sam Ash an overall score of 4 stars. The Lee Rd store definitely is about customer service. The E. Colonial store behave like a bunch of rude, used car salesmen.

Mike manages the E. Colonial store but is too busy to deal directly with the customer. While negotiating the sale of a discontinued amp M Caylor came back with someone claiming to be Nick, Ops Mgr. Nick was neither jolly, nor saintly. Instead of greeting me, he went to the amp. He didn’t smile, shake hands or show any respect. He was rude and stormed off.

Conversely, Lee Rd is about customer service and building lasting customer relationships. I purchased a new Fender fretless bass at Lee Rd that had been on display. After a couple of issues, I returned the bass and it was replaced with a brand new Fender bass fresh out of the box and conditioned on the spot by Joe.

From henceforth, if Lee Rd doesn’t have it or can’t get it, I’ll shop Amazon or Guitar City.

The only thing that stopped me from giving a 5 was no one ask if I needed assistance while I was shopping other than it’s s great place and environment maybe they were just short handed that day or something

The neighborhood is a little sketchy, but once inside the selection is good. Watch for an occasional used bargain and check out the monthly sales.

Went in today to buy a Roland drum kit. Didn’t talk to a single employee the whole time. No one greeted us and no one was there when we walked out the door. There was initially an employee in the drums department, but when we walked in the drum room, he disappeared behind the employees only door and never came back out. Waited around 15 minutes or so in the drums department looking at various things, and no one ever showed up. Selection of drum pedals and hi-hat stands was abysmal. The cymbal room only has a fraction of the cymbals it used to have compared to when I first started drumming about 12 years ago. The price tags for the electronic drum kits did not correspond to the demo kits in front of them. Place felt relatively empty and like it’s not going to be around much longer. I thought I was doing the right thing by supporting local business, but ultimately left empty-handed and will order from Amazon.

Eh, went there looking for cables and help, stood in an almost empty store waiting for upwards of 20-25 minutes for anyone to help me and nothing. Finally got help, not that impressed, will probably shop online from now on

We were in there two weeks ago to get some reeds and ended up buying a used tenor saxophone. We were told that they don’t except used instruments that need repair, however that has proven false after we brought it into a repair shop. It was leaking in the lower register and had to be fixed from the inside because it’s bent and the gap wouldn’t close. After spending 2700 on the item I am severely disappointed that it was not in great working condition. The customer service was great but I am not happy with having to repair something that shouldn’t have needed repair.

Show the man the weirdest instrument he’s seen all year (a straight metal contrabass clarinet) and in two shakes of a lamb’s tail, he’s figured out the two small adjustments that he needs to make and you’re on your way. I am Impressed!

Awesome establishment, they have been there for decades. I rent my daughters clarinet for band class through them. She is also currently take piano lessons on site at the band room. The teacher has just been amazing with her. Thank you much!!!

Outstanding customer service! Genesis was awesome, very nice and polite. She explained the instrument rental agreement clearly and answered all our questions. We rented a clarinet for our daughter for her band class. They sanitized the instruments throughly before renting them. Excellent place to take care of all your band instruments needs.

Horrible service! Called to find out if they had flip folder pages in stock and the girl had no idea what I was talking about. I explained and she put me on hold for 5 minutes and then hung up on me. I called back and was put on hold another 3 minutes so I called back and asked for Manager. I was told Manager was busy. I explained what happened and asked another girl who had answered if they had them in stock and she said she didn’t think so. I asked her if she could check their inventory and she said she’d try. What? Try? All 3 girls I came in contact with over the phone were clueless and didn’t seem to care. Go to SAM ASH you will get top rated service and all employees are knowledgeable.

They stop charging my card for unknown reason and reported it to the credit bureau. Veritas is very shady I fully regret getting an instrument from this place .

Im renting a trumpet for my son 29 dang dollars every dang month and if u pay late they charge u 10 dollars

I have been visiting and purchasing in Sam Ash stores for years, and this is the first time that I write a review about my experience on their stores. First of all, depending on the store location the clients can be OK or not. I have very few references in Florida, one is the Sam Ash store of Dolphin Mall in Miami and the other one is the Sam Ash store in Colonial Drive, Orlando. Both are very touristic places, however, I have notice that Sam Ash Orlando has better deals and the staff is more friendly than the store in Miami. Of course, the store in Miami is in a shopping mall with doors open to the mall and the parking, so the staff have to pay attention to all movements of the store, not only to those clients who want to buy a very expensive guitar, which makes the focus on attention more difficult. In contrast the staff of the store in Orlando is more friendly, and the store has a very good selection of products, the only problem is that it is located in a mall that is almost abandoned. In any case, my experience in Sam Ash stores is very neutral, is like any other music store. I think that many music stores should evolve to the new era of musicians, were people is looking more specific things. For guitar or bass players for example, the stores should provide some kind of private booths to test the guitars, amps and bass-guitars without the noise of other guitar players and even the music in the store. For example it seems that both stores have a large amount of space to allocate small booths. Of course, that will depend on the type of clients, but I am pretty sure that I would be more motivated to visit a store with these and other options and I would pay the full price of the item if I can fully play and test everything with enough detail.

I visited this store on 06/08/18 at about 3:30 pm with one of my army friends, with the intention of listening to several options of monitor speakers (Yamaha, JBL or KRK), and the person who works in that area (adult almost white hair) asked me, if I needed something and I told him to hear how these speakers sound, the speakers were connected to a computer. First he told me, you will not hear the sound if you are in the IPhoto application. And once he connected the system in garage band and went back to his working station. I decided to increase the volume of the music in order to hear the sound quality (nothing extraordinary). While listening to the music for a couple of minutes, this gentleman came again and without apologize or asking permission, turned the music completely down and told me “I turned down because I can listen to the new customer”. There was a person playing loud music with two keyboards close to my location. With this bad experience with this employee, I left the store and bought the speaker from Guitar Center.

In my 61 years of age I had never seen such bad customer service and rudeness from a sales representative. I hope the Manager take notes, customer service is vital in any organization that deals with people, and employees need to treat customer with courtesy and respect.

Went in to sell a guitar in almost perfect condition. They offered me $225 at first then the manager I believe came around and had the employee tell me that they’d only give me $180. Why switch up what we agreed on? Very unprofessional in my opinion. Also, it looks a bit run down like some rats run the place.

The last 3 times I bought gear here, I had to return it due to it being defective.

Not sure why or how this keeps happening but at the very least it shows there’s absolutely no QC and the handling is probably rough at best.

Came here for the electric Traveler Guitar Ultra Light and a few other items. After indicating that this is what i wanted l, “Superman” said he’d get it ready for me while I continued shopping. Slipped me the floor model for full price and did not include my lap piece or my warranty card, instructions. Nothing. Just a previously opened product in its case.

When I called in about my missing items Steven answered my direct question “did you sell me a floor model?” with “i don’t know” and some other mutterings when, clearly, display—which had the guitar when I got there 30 mins before closing—was empty 2 hours before opening the following morning when I called. Doesn’t take a genius to know what happened. When I asked him for a floor model price on it, you can probably guess. So I’m going to refund and order from Traveler directly.

People like this make me sick. Thought I was safe around other “music folk” but it’s people and places like this so many people say you can’t trust anyone. Disgusting.

From 5 stars down to 1 I had a disappointing experience when purchasing a guitar from this store. Despite being promised cash back for paying with cash, I encountered resistance upon arrival and told if I pay over $250 in cash despite what I was told before they have to put it back on a card. It took requesting to speak to the store manager to finally receive my cash back, which turned out to be due to the damaged guitar. Unlike my usual experience at another store, where damaged items came with a 10% discount on the next purchase, this store refused any form of compensation. Frustrated by the lack of consideration for my inconvenience and wasted time, I opted to take my business elsewhere and purchased from Sweetwater instead. They not only offered an undamaged product but also a free 2-year warranty. This store missed out on a $600 sale due to their unwillingness to address their mistake, and I’ve decided to exclusively shop at Sweetwater for my guitar needs from now on.

I wish i could give -0 stars….Precious was very rude..& Unprofessional. I was rescheduled 3 times.. Then when I finally get there Precious is unaware of the appointment she made. Then reschedules me again.. Horrible experience we will be going to Guitar Center… & Here it is now a few days later and they cancelled on me again. This place sucks dont waste your time..

Lots of cool gear and the owner is super nice!

Left them guitar to glue the neck, the estimation was way above market, that’s OK. I’ve decided to go to other store but during pick up I found scratches here and there. Lucky me-made a video when I did bring a guitar the 1st time. I am just disappointed- waste a month and no result. They did polish and removed scratches (not all as I found out in another store). Not a bad store with various instruments new and used, I even bought a bass, but I do not trust their guitar master. Rick is a good guy but the master is a 3rd party that occasionally appears and takes guitars home, where I guess and damage mine.

Rick was warm & friendly & it seems to have a nice stock of instruments. Tucked in the corner of the Staples building so it’s easy to drive right by without seeing it. Very little sheet music for vocalists so if that’s what your looking for don’t bother. They have an open mic night every 1st Saturday so I will come to one & see what it’s like.

I wish I could shop here, I try to come at night and there closed before posted hours. I try to come on a Thursday at 11am, still closed when posted they open at 10:30. Must not want business.

I am from out of town. LOVE stopping at music shops, like most of us do, as music is a passion/hobby. I’ve PURCHASED 2 guitar pedals, a preamp, and a microphone from this guy before…. Always enjoyed chatting the few times I’ve stopped in. Seemed nice. Assume he remembers me when I walk in, typically.

I was in town again, so I stopped in to see what they had. Asked him a question about an expensive guitar out of curiosity and he said, “Ah, well, the only people that would ask that are from another store.” Then gave me a smug grin like…. as if: “caught you”

Seriously?.. seriously?! Shove off. I WILL NOT be back, and I’ll take my cash elsewhere. You dont offend customers by claiming they must be spies from other stores because they asked a question. I’m not a SPY. I’m not a “Music Store” traitor*?, criminal of sorts, as you insinuate. You must be insanely paranoid judging by that comment! This was not a joking tone or anything.

Literally, I will NOT be back. I always carry a pocket full of cash into music stores in case I see something neat, as I love to collect. But I will NOT be back to this unsettling, SUSPECTING establishment whom thinks negatively of a guy patronizing their business.

Very helpful when my son began playing trumpet in the band at school. He needed a clean and tune as well as a few small replacement parts. They fixed it up for us and did a great job. Thanks!

I had a flute that hadn’t been used in years since a relative passed away. My grandson decided to play the flute. So Cleve repaired it by doing a complete overhaul. It’s amazing. Thank you Cleve for taking the time to repair this important instrument for us.

Place looks a little messy but one of the sales man was very nice and helpful.

We aren’t a musical family (we listen to it, we don’t make it.) but my 6th grader decided to try band. Knowing nothing we went to the Music Shack as it was on the recommend list from my daughters middle school. The woman who helped us was very nice and didn’t try to sell us the most expensive mouth piece for a tuba, knowing our daughter might not stick with it.

The other places I called about getting the items we needed charged 3 times the price. I realize that there is different qualities for the Bach 18, but the woman who helped us understood that $140 is a lot for something my daughter most likely won’t stick with. She also had everything else we needed and it was very quick and simple.

The only thing I could say that was slightly negative was a lot of clutter in the store. But that is more about personal preference than quality.

Awful customer service. Sons middle school tried to push this business for band rentals. I called early on a business morning and Received their voicemail. I left a message and it’s been days where no one could handle to spend a few minutes to contact me back. I rather bring my money elsewhere.

Edited to respond to owner. Yes I’m aware everywhere is short staffed due to Covid. That’s why I was ok with waiting DAYS for a response but never got one. You did not hear my voicemail yesterday because like I said , I left it last week and have gone DAYS without the business following up. I was patient and understood that due to Covid I might not get anyone to answer their business phone immediately. I waited DAYS for the business to be able to catch up and respond to me but was left in the dark. If I can’t get a question answered before handing over my money, why would I trust that once you have my business I could get through to you for any rental issues in the future. Like I said I will seek other places.

Went for sax repair. Took about 20 minutes just to drop off sax and purchase one item. Sax repair was overpriced and only partially complete. Was partially ready two days after promised. Phil, who does the repair kindly explained to me that it was my fault the repair was not complete and that for an additional fee he would complete the repair. Worst customer experience I’ve had in a very long time. Will not be back.

Replaced strings of my daughter’s guitar. Did not tune at all. Poor communication. Was on the phone while checking me out and had difficulty asking / answering questions. Stated would clean up guitar that had been in storage but wasn’t touched. Took several days to replace strings. Would not go here again. Poor service

Great guest service but too expensive for me personally. Usually I can get a capo for under $15 dollars. Here it was $24.95 ( needed one right away for a recording ). I got strings as well and one already broke.

Customer service was good just wasn’t aware that renting a instrument would put a HARD inquiry on my credit report which took 2yrs to remove…I can understand a soft inquiry but not a hard one it dropped my credit score 11 points and I was in the process of purchasing a house….be aware that a credit report is ran with a HARD inquiry

Great store, great people! Thank goodness I found them! I usually see Chris, whom is really knowledgeable, informative, friendly, and quite capable of making my guitars better, which he has done every time! I brought a custom guitar I recently bought that needed something I was not able to figure out, and Chris could tell right away the issues and understood how I wanted it to play. A few days later my guitar plays like the dream of shed machine I wanted it to be! They treat you like family there, highly recommended if you want top quality without a high price tag, I really can’t say enough good about them!

It was my first time going into this store at first glance the store has beautiful guitars at an affordable price! Than I was welcomed by a very nice gentleman he was very friendly and asked what can I help you with? I had a problem I was going to audition for musical theater and I needed sheet music for a song I explained to the man of my predicament and he immediately jumped to try and help. The man tried his hardest trying to help me out he was very patient with my situation and made sure to help me. The end result was he not only wrote me the sheet music for free he made sure I was satisfied with the music and even played it right in front of me! I would definitely recommend this store for any music problem and for make sure to ask for the employee named Pete.

For the several thousands of dollars my family has spent at this business, I expect Pete to be friendly/pleasant towards us(at the very least), for life, but he clearly can’t maintain that. He started acting rude towards my mom some years back, and now me. For no apparent reason. I hope that keeping that sour attitude of yours is worth losing 20+ year customers who often went out of their way to spend money at your establishment and stay local. Weird way to treat people who earned you money. Avoid. He’s one of those guys who thinks everyone is a “democrat”. Super solid reason to push customers away.

Could be a one off experience but the wait time was insane and no one even attended or informed us about how to join the queue until late. Then we were told we are too late to get that service.

Luckily, we got the support eventually as we informed we reached in time but then their computers were not working, so, had to put in details again and again on different systems.

The people who helped us were definitely nice but perhaps were overworked with bad systems.

So I love best buy spend thousands a year there, but this location let me down. Went in for a sound bar mount. Wasn’t in the correct spot. 6 associates in the TV area standing around doing nothing. Finally one helped me. The mount was not in the correct spot. Go to check out and there was only 1 person running a register at 430 in the afternoon. After standing in a line of 6 people 2 more associates showed up. I’ve never seen a location run so poorly. I’ve gone to other locations and had better service. For millena mall area I excepted better. I’ll not return to this location.

I didn’t even know this place was here. I was going by the camera shop next door. I heard the music and decided to walk over and investigate.

I found an extremely rare record I’ve been on the lookout for in multiple cities in multiple states I’ve never seen. Jim there was extremely polite and helpful. Go there and holler at Jim and he’ll take care of you. Great jazz selection.

Excellent place. The owner is very friendly. It has a bathroom with many famous signatures that gives chills, you have to see it. it is the best place to buy your records

If you are looking for retro Vynl, games, VHS, or even typwriters, this is the joint to stop at. Definitely an awesome blast from the past. The store could be organized a bit better and maybe a little cleaner (dust was a bit apparent), but that all comes with the territory. Nice dudes too, they don’t bother you while you’re just browsing, but they’ll chat if you reach out.

Great condition vinyl that is priced a bit high for what it’s worth, but it’s still easy to get lost in this dusty archive of rock for hours on end. My search took me to the back room where I came across film scores I’d never even heard of and a surprisingly large collection of VHS tapes. I left with a couple blaxpliotation vinyls and called it a day, though I certainly could’ve spent much longer searching for more.

Finally made it over to check this place out. Heard a lot about it.

First what I liked, they have a pretty good inventory of used records and a ton of cds. Staff was helpful and friendly but the guy did not like me pulling the album out of sleeve to just give it a visual. He said they’ll do that for me at checkout. Maybe thats standard practice but I’ve never been told that before looking at used records.

2nd, what I didn’t like. The prices on the used records I was looking at were WAY overpriced. Most of the ones I saw were priced at $20 or higher. You can find these same records for $5-10 anywhere else. ( Which I actually did at Remix Records.) I wouldn’t go there unless maybe you were looking for a hard to find album. Again, decent inventory but prices way out of wack.

VERY overpriced but they do have a good selection. Be careful, as sometimes albums and covers don’t match. Bought album that was RCA Music Club version and it was in a Columbia House cover. Bought a double album, one record was TML version, second album was not. They might have switched out records. Just inspect what you are buying if you are particular.

Prices higher than anything you’d find on any website ever.

Where should I start. SNAP SEASON was a brilliant idea. I love what your doing for the city and the youth. You’re 1 of a few that’s actually putting on for Orlando.

I’ve been to many artist showcase’s in Orlando . Your’s really do standout. It’s real it’s Raw and it’s authentic. We met 2 artist at your last event, working with them to get things lined up to present their music to Interscope records.

Keep doing what you do man.

I was trying to begin cello and the owner gave me everything I needed including a list of private tutors. the instruments are beautiful and sound amazing.

This is the place to go for any of your string services. Their service is the best. Even if you can’t go to their location you can order online or send your instrument to them for repairs or service.

Nice place to find perfect string instruments but won’t come back again. The guy in the front doesn’t really like to talk much. I guess maybe musicians never know how to do service lol?

Will not just sell me a violin bridge they insist on installing it and
