Amazing crew working here, super helpful and fantastic customer service. The most inviting music store I’ve ever been in.
Stopped by Music & Arts to plugin and try out an acoustic guitar amp they had in stock there. I had the good fortune to meet Louis and Steven there – a couple of super helpful gentlemen that answered all my questions and attended to my guitar needs letting me tryout the full selection of acoustic guitar amps. Most importantly they demonstrated refreshing kindness and patience with an old flat picker. Thanks fellas! (I purchased a most excellent Fishman Loudbox Mini)
Very friendly. We’ll run store!
Nice enough store. Employees seemed cool. Owned and operated by Guitar Center. I still prefer local when possible, but this place is nice.
my son had saxophone lessons scheduled about a week in advance so we showed up to our appointment only to have the front desk guy tell us that he supposedly called me and left me a voicemail telling me our instructor cancelled us. i had no missed calls or voicemails. i left work early to bring my son, wasted time and gas having to drive 30+ minutes to get here. very unprofessional.

Address: 7815 E Broadway Blvd, Tucson, AZ 85710 , Tanque Verde , Arizona , United States
Was reffered by nick and i couldnt b anymore satisfied…loved the staff loved the quality and the low prices.sticks and strings won my recomendation.
I went here a few months ago to get my bass strings fixed and they went the extra mile. Not only did they fix my strings but they also cleaned and polished it. When i got it back it looked amazing and felt brand new!
My daughter and I came into the store to browse around. It was a great experience! I’ve been looking for an amp and my daughter needed a keyboard. Tony help us out in such a manner that he created an atmosphere of “your money is welcomed here but your more welcome here”! Well Tony made us a great deal for all our music needs so that we could go home a play some music. It was a smooth and easy transaction. I’m sure everyone walked away happy.
I will definitely be returning to Sticks and Strings for our future needs. Thanks Tony you’re awesome!!!
Good
Basic local music shop. Owner seemed very nice.
Great group of knowledgeable and helpful guys. They went out of their way to make sure that I was happy with my purchase. I will continue to go to them for my musical needs. Great place to shop.
Dont go here.
Just don’t. Check Yelp, the BBB, or the news story investigation the local channel did (both of them), or the Attorney Generals investigation. Wish I had.
I shopped there for years. The staff is nice. Only buy what’s in stock though. I ordered a $350 guitar pedal that took 3 months of pestering before I finally received it.
The employees were amazingly helpful. The atmosphere is always good. Every time I have entered the store everyone always seemed happy, helped, satisfied and musically fulfilled . They allow one to truly take their time and take the time to walk a person thru ….. I found them to be always a great experience… everything was done with care and an air of excellence…. I rather go there than any where else. Ty music center for always being there for me and all my different instruments 🙂
Muy buen servicio. Te dejan probar los instrumentos y los muchachos con muy buena atención. Felicidades. Muy recomendado
Fast friendly service
Decent selection and staff very knowledgeable
I had a very positive experience at Instrumental Music. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Especially their instrument tech/luthier Cody, who helped to answer several questions I had about what paint/finishing products he would recommend on a DIY guitar build I am working on. (They didn’t carry any. Otherwise I would have made a purchase.)
My overall impression of the store is that it is geared towards the beginner/novice musician in that they had a wide variety of instruments in price ranges that were more towards the mid – lower end. And yet were still very good quality products from reputable manufacturers. And they offered lessons in store as well. The only small knock on the store I had would be the limited selection of manufacturers to choose from.
I would definitely recommend visiting their store though, whether you’re a beginner or pro. This was my first experience in their store and I will be back!
This bad review concerns Maria Ferraz, piano teacher. Our initial meeting seemed positive and I felt comfortable with her with my three year old son. To make sure he was ready to be taught piano, according to her, we set another appointment the following Saturday. This time she wasn’t as nice and patient. I was outside the room while she stayed in the room with my son. To begin, my son is three. He is a very curious boy. This particular day he wasn’t wanting to sit and learn. As I peeled through the window, I saw Maria force his little hand to play the piano. My son resisted and just sat there staring up. She then yells at him, “What are you looking at? What are you looking at?” She turned to see if I was standing there and she just nodded her head. I opened the door and grabbed my son.
I also want to point out that she has a lot of pictures, posters, just stuff in her tiny room enough to distract anyone much more a three year old. Also, if she doesn’t have the patience it takes to teach a three year old, then you shouldn’t advertise that you do. And lastly, you have no right to yell at my son or any child who doesn’t have the ability to fully comprehend what is happening, what you are asking, or able to express his emotions with proper vocabulary to answer your ridiculous questions!
Beware of this woman and always keep an eye on your child when you are not in the room.
When I called to ask how much it would cost to replace violin strings, they said it was free and that I would only be charged for the new strings themselves. But when I brought the violins in, they charged me $25 per violin. Then, after a few days of practice on the newly stringed violins, one (of the two) violins irreparably broke at the base where the strings would attach, likely because they had negligently applied too much force in replacing the strings. In all, I paid them almost $100 to ruin one of my violins, which cost me $400 to replace. They are liars and at least when it comes to violins, they are also incompetent.
I’m not sure what this store is doing but I’m pretty sure it is illegal. I did a Google search for Metronome Music and when I clicked on the link this store came up. I don’t like being misled or deceived and I will never take my business here. Shame on you
They were helpful, and informative.
They answered all my questions, and they weren’t pushy salesmen.
Thank you for your time and professionalism.
Great store
Excelente servicio
Had a very nice selection of guitars and other instruments. Nice set up on quiet rooms so ya could test the instruments. Unfortunately did not have in stock what I was specifically looking for; but I can order online. Would have liked to test it first but I know fender makes quality instruments so will order.
first time at this Guitar center and it was cool. Store seemed clean staff was helpful and prices were better than i expected.
This location is great they have separate like room sections for what your wanting to by so it’s lit. Although there was some unessecary language from the employes that were very helpful in helping me find things for my keyboard rig and my studio.
I ordered something on the website and had it shipped to the store, the processing center sent not just the wrong version of the item I bought but an item that is completely different than what I ordered.
Over priced. Broken guitars in the humidifier room sold for outrageous prices for a guitar with a hole in it. Staff are not very knowledgeable about thier products.
big selection – try getting someone to help you . . . a lot of new and used gear. for some reason, everytime I visit this store, no one is interested in selling me anything. or even answering questions. “how much is the korg minilogue?” “huh, where’s that?” I showed him where it was and after looking it over, he said “I have no idea.” and that was it. he turned to the other guy, and stated ” I need a beer.” so instead of dropping a few hundred dollars on a synth, I said ‘thanks’ and left.
every time . . .

This place Rocks. The boy’s here are the real deal. Professional knowledgeable. I recommend them highly to all musician’s here in Tucson. Love Health Brothers. See you soon
Feels like family, personal attention to what instrument works best for you.
LOVE THIS PLACE!! Everyone is super friendly and helpful, I even got a free taco from the owner. I highly recommend coming here and encourage getting your guitar setup here too. Will come again:)
Friendly knowledgeable staff
Friendly staff. Stock is usually good and other times they don’t have reeds which requires me to travel further to a different store.
Took my clarinet in for the simplest repair. Took more then 3 months to get it back.
John took my bass for a setup about a month ago. He first said it would take about a week. a week later, I called in and he said he was working on it that day. When I came in the towards the end of the following day John had not worked on the instrument at all. Instead of providing customer service, he gave the run around and said it would be done in a week, he said he would call me the following Monday. Havent heard from him since, now i have to find time to go back to retrieve my property and i expect him to give me a hard time based on how he has treated me so far. Wish i could give 0 stars, its been a month.
It’s basically just a repair shop for guitars and amps
We started going to Mr. Nature shows when our daughter was tiny, and it quickly became a favorite activity of hers. He played at her second birthday party, and I would recommend that to any family, it was such a highlight for her and all her friends (and their parents). We’ve since moved across the country, but a bright spot of the pandemic is that we can still see Mr. Nature through his weekly live shows on YouTube/Instagram.
Mr. Nature and his crew are amazing. They have been a huge influence with my child’s love of music.
Mark was outstanding in helping us find a baritone saxophone for my son and giving us a great deal. My son was so happy, it sure made his year. We recommend Mark and the Chicago Music store and will definitely be dealing with them in the future, especially since my daughter is a few years behind my son. They provide great support to schools and all the band kids out there.
Great store
To be honest I hadn’t shopped at Chicago Store for a few years, but I couldn’t find a Fender USA Strat that I liked anywhere (Rainbow is still closed for instore shopping). I found a real sweet Strat and they set it up perfectly for me. VERY happy and I’ll be shopping here more often. Thanks!
Everyone was nice wish they would have returned the product I purchased tho.
Pretty good selection of instruments other than no ovation guitars. Didn’t have the product I was looking for and the desk manager is very pushy about selling. Other than those, decent store.
Helpful and friendly. Very knowledgeable about the product and give you space to look around.
The guitar technician is one of the worst I’ve encountered in the many years I’ve been playing guitar. He was VERY rough with a 1300 dollar guitar. In his haste and carelessness he damaged a flamed maple top. He shrugged his shoulders and said, “that is what happens when you work on a guitar”. I can’t imagine the damage he creates behind customer’s backs. His methods of examination and his repair knowledge was at a staggering incompetent level. I DO NOT RECOMMEND going to this technician. Don’t know his name. Just best to stay clear from any tech from the store on speedway.
Wouldn’t recommend, music is suppose to be fun and the tall white guy doesn’t leave you alone. Let people play in peace. I’ll be going to guitar center where they let you express yourself.
Was doing rent to buy they gave me a broken instrument that didn’t work then I took it back the next day they accused me of breaking it then made me pay a hundred and fifty dollars to fix it even though I didn’t break it
16. Metro Gnome Music
Address: 4044 E Speedway Blvd, Tucson, AZ 85712 , Tanque Verde , Arizona , United States
Great musical instrument shop. Used and new musical items of all kinds.
This place is so cool! I went for the bicycle half. Lots of folding bikes, helpful staff and mechanics. Great local shop!
This is a fun place to hunt for treasures. Nice staff.
I bout edge fixie there and they were great about helping fix it just forgot to tighten up my from rim is all
To be honest I always go back to the same mechanic because I trust his work
Simply love it.
When Selling, be Sure to look up your item on all price levels to know your stuff b4 going in or Todd will be sure to set-up his search to show you the least offer poss since he “Don’t know what a used instrument” like yours sells for.
1st time= Shame on You
2nd time= Shame on Me.. there won’t be a 2nd time.
I’ve read the experiences of other customers at this store and can’t believe that I am having such a negative experience with these guys! Granted the mistake was made on my part, but after realizing what had happened and returning the instrument in good condition and trying to fix the mistake, my wages were garnished for twice the amount of what the instrument was worth that I had rented! $1315.76 and now two and a half years later after I had paid in full they are trying to garnish my wages again for another $100. All of this was done without communication, I made a mistake after moving to a new house and packing the instrument away and forgot about it. I returned the item when I came across it unpacking immediately without notice. I wasn’t expecting not having to pay something, but to come back after having paid in full and after such a long time makes me wonder if the customers are really the focus of this store!
Robert is a rare and exceptionally talented piano teacher. Young or old, he adapts to teaching multiple ages. He instilled a great love of music in my nine year old nieces and they made astounding progress in two years. He has the ability and perception to assess a student’s needs and meet them where they are.
He knows when to change the lesson plan, when to speed up or slow down, to keep the student motivated. His knowledge of music theory, history and genres of music is vast and truly inspiring.
Plus, I love to watch and listen to him demonstrate a technique! He can play anything and he makes you feel like you will be able to also! I have been playing the piano off and on for over 50 years and he is absolutely the best teacher that I have ever had!
I took lessons from Robert in the past before moving and he’s a very patient teacher. He made versions of my favorite songs just for me and I had a blast learning them!
Very talented pianist and exceptional at teaching piano, my daughter has been taking lessons and her technical and skills progress has improved enormously. Robert is a very dedicated and commited in every lesson. I wolud recommend him 100%.
19. The Folk Shop
Address: 2525 N Campbell Ave, Tucson, AZ 85719 , Tanque Verde , Arizona , United States
I’ve lived in Tucson my whole life, and have never been to the Folk Shop. I’ve been missing out. I took my adult, sight impaired daughter there, to trade in her electric violin, and hopefully come out with a wood one. We came out with so much more. We were both treated so kindly and they went above and beyond to help us. When she decided on one, one of the employees took it to tune it, and started playing it. My daughter had tears in her eyes, she was so thrilled with the sound. From start to finish, it was a hugely positive experience, and we will be back !
Shop local it’s the best.
Great music shop with very friendly people to help you. I highly recommend them.
Love the new ukulele room.
Such a cute little shop and my hubby loves his guitar
This is a nice local folk music shop. If it had more choices I’d give it 5 stars, but a great place nevertheless.
Well, over the years I’ve bought, sold, and traded with Paul and really wouldn’t do so again. The last guitar I purchased there had broken tuner barrels and more important, his pricing and moods vary wildly. Certainly lots to look at, but no great shakes in terms of quality or pricing.
Very rude disrespectful because I was asking for a part and I didn’t have a mask and I wasn’t trying to go in the place without permission and they were just very rude very very rude and I didn’t understand I was thrown off by it. Yelling at me for no reason all I wanted was a part I didn’t even try to go into shop told her I’d wait outside because I didn’t have a mask she slams door in my face. So I go get a mask and they won’t even deal with me I was the up most respectful and didn’t deserve that. Very very rude!!! I’ll never do business with them again.
I am absolutely incredulous as to how condescendingly I was treated over the phone by this place. I arrived with my Taylor 312-CE looking to trade up and quite likely spend substantial chunk of money. I noticed the posting on the door that read (I may be paraphrasing) “masks required even for those vaccinated.” I have been twice jabbed with Pfizer, but no problem. I get it. I understand it. People may not be fully honest about their status and might contaminate others. I have zero issue complying with the policy The posting also read “do not knock; call to be granted entry” (again, I may be paraphrasing, but this was the gist). I keep a KN-95 with me in the car but couldn’t find it. Maybe it fell behind the seat or something. I ring their number. A woman answers. Convo goes like this: “Hi, I noticed you require masks even for the vaxxed, which I am fully, but I can’t seem to find mine here in my car….I’m here outside….do you happen to have any masks there inside the store that you could pass out to me”? (like logical, sensible merchants across town, the state, the country have in abundance in case you forgot or can’t find yours—sterile ones for the taking in boxes) “If not, I don’t live too far. I can run home, grab one and come back”. The woman on the phone raises her voice and says “NO YOU NEED TO WEAR A MASK” and abruptly hangs up!! Um, I think I got that part and more than amply communicated it back. Wow. And delivered with a tone of voice akin to Mrs. Gulch from Wizard of Oz. I was perfectly polite, acknowledged the policy and was willing to go out of my way to comply. This is not only ridiculously bad policy, but there was not even basic intelligible, lucid communication on her part. Not the conduct of a sound minded individual.
Now, for some background. I have never made any major purchases at Folk Shop. However, I have patronized them over years–even before I moved to Tucson. The first time, I was recording an album visiting from Austin in 2014 and needed a dobro capo. The engineer called around to Guitar Center and few other places. They didn’t even know what a dobro was, much less a dobro capo. Folk Shop to the rescue with a Paul Beard capo, just like the one I had forgotten and left back in TX! I’ve been there since for strings, straps, stainless steel slides etc. Never ever the slightest of problems. What happened today is totally inexcusable. I myself have been fastidious and a stickler about masking and distancing throughout the pandemic, but this kind of post-mandate fanaticism, illogic and outright meanness is beyond the pale. They certainly don’t want my money or any of my future business. To hell with this place. l’ll buy a guitar from Musician’s Friend before stepping foot in there, even though I prefer to shop locally.
