Changooooooo definitely came through!!!! A bombtacular sandwich experience, good vibes and great subs
The staff and owners are very friendly and personable.
For being a small town gas station/convenience store, the selection and price are about what you’d expect. It’s not the least expensive and it’s not a full sized grocery store – but they have at least one of most things you need when you don’t feel like driving 30 minutes into town.
The attached Ace Hardware is a nice touch.
It’s one place to go when your living out there and in a pinch…
Convenient, we’ll stocked, and nice folks.
The stuff is to expensive. And some of the people are very rude.
Too expensive and the owner as well as the employees are so greedy.
Must purchase $5 or more to use the card, otherwise must be cash, if you only need water and don’t have cash you’re out of luck. All the crew are so arrogant, gas is way more expensive than anywhere else.
Worst place ever store needs to be condemned roof is falling in
My experience with the people at this Guitar Center (specifically Ian and his manager) was overwhelmingly positive. Ian personally spent a significant amount of his own time ironing out issues I was having with Syncrony Bank, Guitar Center’s credit provider, and got me the answers I needed to finish the transaction. He was also incredibly helpful throughout the process of selecting my new guitar, and very knowledgeable about the nuances of various guitar brands. This guitar Center will be my go-to location for all my future guitar needs.
Knowledgeable and friendly staff! Dalton and Mike are always very helpful.
Great place. Instructor Kyle is just what I needed to get back playing my guitar. I learn so much and it is fun.
My purchase list is 16 miles long but GC has gone downhill recently.
It’s the Guitar Center if they don’t have it the order for you just like every other Guitar Center if you go there when the main sales manager is there you might get a deal on something
Very professional. Helpful
Regular guitar center, they have most of what you need at a decent price but don’t expect any kind of service or assistance if you’re not one of there shred head buddys, also expect stock like guitars to be poorly set up dirty and battered, even missing knobs and hardware. But if you need strings or drumsticks ect. And you know what you want ,it works
IF YOU LOVE MUSIC DO NOT VISIT THIS GUITAR CENTER. Will never ever do business with this guitar center again. Michalsavilio or whatever at this location is the worst person to manage a store. And Michael in the back to work the shipping sucks too. I’ve had orders from This location before and they always sucked but were decent. But earlier this year the service got way better for maybe a month or two. But then went completely horrible. I’ve tried scheduleing lessons and the little privliged lady didn’t know anything and kept giving me a childish immature attitude. Im done with guitar center. I could go on more about the experience here but I’m done.
Staff rude more concerned with you having face mask, than trying to sell keyboards, purchased elsewhere due the unprofessional staff!!!!!
6. The Folk Shop
Address: 2525 N Campbell Ave, Tucson, AZ 85719 , Three Points , Arizona , United States
Great selection of instruments (look out for the dedicated ukulele and banjo rooms!), including beautiful vintage models. I bought a lovely old banjo, and couldn’t be happier! The service in the store was also top-notch – the staff are wonderfully friendly and know their stuff inside out 😀
The best local music shop in town. Please support your local stores. Is a real gem in Tucson.
Very knowledgeable staff and fair prices whether you are buying or selling.
Friendly staff
Extremely friendly. Good selection of many types of folk acoustic instruments and they let you play most of them. Somewhat limited array of different brands, thus 4 stars. I’m looking forward to doing more business with them.
Neat shop, friendly staff. Went in to see if they could help with my Djembe drum repair, but they don’t currently have anyone who can replace and restring the skin for the drumhead ☹️
Very rude disrespectful because I was asking for a part and I didn’t have a mask and I wasn’t trying to go in the place without permission and they were just very rude very very rude and I didn’t understand I was thrown off by it. Yelling at me for no reason all I wanted was a part I didn’t even try to go into shop told her I’d wait outside because I didn’t have a mask she slams door in my face. So I go get a mask and they won’t even deal with me I was the up most respectful and didn’t deserve that. Very very rude!!! I’ll never do business with them again.
I am absolutely incredulous as to how condescendingly I was treated over the phone by this place. I arrived with my Taylor 312-CE looking to trade up and quite likely spend substantial chunk of money. I noticed the posting on the door that read (I may be paraphrasing) “masks required even for those vaccinated.” I have been twice jabbed with Pfizer, but no problem. I get it. I understand it. People may not be fully honest about their status and might contaminate others. I have zero issue complying with the policy The posting also read “do not knock; call to be granted entry” (again, I may be paraphrasing, but this was the gist). I keep a KN-95 with me in the car but couldn’t find it. Maybe it fell behind the seat or something. I ring their number. A woman answers. Convo goes like this: “Hi, I noticed you require masks even for the vaxxed, which I am fully, but I can’t seem to find mine here in my car….I’m here outside….do you happen to have any masks there inside the store that you could pass out to me”? (like logical, sensible merchants across town, the state, the country have in abundance in case you forgot or can’t find yours—sterile ones for the taking in boxes) “If not, I don’t live too far. I can run home, grab one and come back”. The woman on the phone raises her voice and says “NO YOU NEED TO WEAR A MASK” and abruptly hangs up!! Um, I think I got that part and more than amply communicated it back. Wow. And delivered with a tone of voice akin to Mrs. Gulch from Wizard of Oz. I was perfectly polite, acknowledged the policy and was willing to go out of my way to comply. This is not only ridiculously bad policy, but there was not even basic intelligible, lucid communication on her part. Not the conduct of a sound minded individual.
Now, for some background. I have never made any major purchases at Folk Shop. However, I have patronized them over years–even before I moved to Tucson. The first time, I was recording an album visiting from Austin in 2014 and needed a dobro capo. The engineer called around to Guitar Center and few other places. They didn’t even know what a dobro was, much less a dobro capo. Folk Shop to the rescue with a Paul Beard capo, just like the one I had forgotten and left back in TX! I’ve been there since for strings, straps, stainless steel slides etc. Never ever the slightest of problems. What happened today is totally inexcusable. I myself have been fastidious and a stickler about masking and distancing throughout the pandemic, but this kind of post-mandate fanaticism, illogic and outright meanness is beyond the pale. They certainly don’t want my money or any of my future business. To hell with this place. l’ll buy a guitar from Musician’s Friend before stepping foot in there, even though I prefer to shop locally.
Well, over the years I’ve bought, sold, and traded with Paul and really wouldn’t do so again. The last guitar I purchased there had broken tuner barrels and more important, his pricing and moods vary wildly. Certainly lots to look at, but no great shakes in terms of quality or pricing.
7. Metro Gnome Music
Address: 4044 E Speedway Blvd, Tucson, AZ 85712 , Three Points , Arizona , United States
Great musical instrument shop. Used and new musical items of all kinds.
This is a great little hole in the wall place. I wish I had found it sooner. The employees are great and there is so much stuff in such a small location. They have a vast array of products from bikes to instruments. We even found some great old vinyl records. Looking at renting an instrument there as well. I will definitely be back.
Quick and Easy Instrument Appraisals
Simply love it.
good store..a tad overpriced on certain items… the staff is decent, there is one guy who always seems like he’s in bad mood he’s usually right at the front, his service could use some improvement, other than that neutral experience I guess, definitely not much of a welcoming vibe.
I was selling an amp and a saxophone. Pretty easy to work with, at least easier than the place who referred me over. I was asked if I could be helped and was helped quickly.
I really wish I could give it to zero Stars they sold me used parts they didn’t do what they said they were going to do and they charged me for stuff that they didn’t even replace and tried to sell it as new they just left the old stuff on my bike and told me that they replaced it then they took old parts are used parts off of some other bike and charge me full price
Will not do business with anymore!
When Selling, be Sure to look up your item on all price levels to know your stuff b4 going in or Todd will be sure to set-up his search to show you the least offer poss since he “Don’t know what a used instrument” like yours sells for.
1st time= Shame on You
2nd time= Shame on Me.. there won’t be a 2nd time.
8. Rainbow Guitars
Address: 2550 N Campbell Ave, Tucson, AZ 85719 , Three Points , Arizona , United States
The repair shop set up my old guitar better than it was when new. Nice action and resonance. I’m very happy. Thanks.
Professional both in the service depth and sales.
Great guitars. Terrible sales staff. I have never seen people that thought they were so cool. No one said hello even after 1/2 an hour of trying different guitars. They could have sold me one today if they tried at all.
Has the sense of everyone there at one point of their lives was or is a musician, but nonetheless the service is quick to help. Always ready to answer any questions you may have. They have just about anything you may be looking for to specific parts to instruments. I love it! Everyone is friendly and knowledgeable to their field/musical expertise. Check ’em out.
Lived in Tucson 20 years played lots of bars given Rainbow lots of $$$. Best selection in town, and the prices are fair. The Rainbow repair shop is great…providing you purchased the guitar from Rainbow. Otherwise…good luck. Sorry guys, but you know it’s true.
I was testing a guitar I wanted to buy when one of the employees walked in and said ” play a less expensive guitar” and he just grabbed it from my hand.when I had the cash in my pocket to purchase the guitar….I’m never going back.
Drum department sales person sucks. He was outside in the parking lot smoking when I pulled in. No big deal. He didn’t know I was there for his department. Took him about 5 mins. to come in. Again no big deal. When he came in l said hi and he never acknowledged me. Keep in mind I’m the only customer in his department. He sat behind the computer the whole time I’m there. I had to dig out a cajon I was interested in. I sat there and played it for a few minutes. You would think he’d ask if I needed any help or had any questions. Another customer came in and he acknowledged her and took care of her. Again no big deal, but the whole time I was there not once was I was approached. I finally got fed up, left and went to Guitar Center. Spent the $500.00 I had in my pocket for a cajon and carrying case.
Didn’t get past the front door. Appointment only.
9. L&M Music Center
Address: 4915 E Speedway Blvd, Tucson, AZ 85712 , Three Points , Arizona , United States
If you need an amp/guitar tech, look no further. These folks do great work and there’s always a friendly vibe when I go in to drop off gear. Highly recommended.
Great local music store. Nice people, decent selection and a good lesson program. **Recommended**
A real music store where it’s not the usual generic brands, various selections of amplifiers and guitars and assecories ,shop has an excellent guitar setup service and repair shop.
Friendly staff. Stock is usually good and other times they don’t have reeds which requires me to travel further to a different store.
Friendly knowledgeable staff
Took my clarinet in for the simplest repair. Took more then 3 months to get it back.
John took my bass for a setup about a month ago. He first said it would take about a week. a week later, I called in and he said he was working on it that day. When I came in the towards the end of the following day John had not worked on the instrument at all. Instead of providing customer service, he gave the run around and said it would be done in a week, he said he would call me the following Monday. Havent heard from him since, now i have to find time to go back to retrieve my property and i expect him to give me a hard time based on how he has treated me so far. Wish i could give 0 stars, its been a month.
It’s basically just a repair shop for guitars and amps
10. Instrumental Music Center Speedway
Address: 7063 E Speedway Blvd, Tucson, AZ 85710 , Three Points , Arizona , United States
James repaired my saxophone, he is knowledgeable, helpful, humble and kind!
He repaired my instrument in a timely manner, and explained the problem so I could comprehend the problem and solution.
Tyler sold me several accessories for my saxophone, I had an excellent experience!
He knows his merchandise.
Bravo!
Super friendly staff and quick and easy rental instrument setup/pickup.
Friendly, helpful staff. They always have what I need.
This place has horrible seating. There are no healthy items on their menu. For nutritional information, refer to the documentary quote Supersize Me
Selection of instruments was good, nice and friendly staff.
Excelente atención y hablan español
When I called to ask how much it would cost to replace violin strings, they said it was free and that I would only be charged for the new strings themselves. But when I brought the violins in, they charged me $25 per violin. Then, after a few days of practice on the newly stringed violins, one (of the two) violins irreparably broke at the base where the strings would attach, likely because they had negligently applied too much force in replacing the strings. In all, I paid them almost $100 to ruin one of my violins, which cost me $400 to replace. They are liars and at least when it comes to violins, they are also incompetent.
Not pleased at all. I called ahead to get instruments repaired and was told it would be two weeks. I drove to drop off instruments and asked if I could have them done a few days sooner. I was told the repair person is taking a vacation and it would be 3 weeks. But, if I wanted to pay double, I could have it done sooner. What a scam! I will never do business with this music store.
Had my violin taken in for string and bridge replacement because of old age. When given back they failed to consult if I wanted the gear pegs back on, nor did they fill my request of a new bridge. When taken to a second opinion they stated that the bridge was ready to collapse and was causing issue to the sound post.
